After Effects

Hello,I imported an Illustrator file with different shapes with gradients into After Effects. When I create shapes from the vector layers the shapes are turning gray and the gradients are lost. I already found some thing which helped others to solve this problem but I already checked them but it still doesn't work:All used colors are process colorsThe document color profile is RGBevery shape is on its own layerI created the .ai with the Video and Film template I created a PDF compatible fileI would be very happy if anybody could help me. Recreating the gradient in After Effects is not a solution for me. 🙂

Does anyone know why I am greeted with an error when attempting to import a .vpe file into after effects. Ive created a 3d image of an alley way, follwed tutorials online, although it seems like a straight forward thing to be honest. Firstly after efects does not see the file (greyed out), only the 3ds is available for import which ofcourse gives out an error.  Can someone help? 

Trying to copy and paste an 'ff' ligature to After Effects but it is not working. Most times this is my solve since After Effects doesn't have a glyphs palette. Any ideas why or how to fix the issue? Font is Mrs. Eaves from Adobe Fonts. Also, why has Adobe not added a glyphs palette to After Effects? This is a motion graphics software and type design should have more priority than this in the modern day.

I want to program a "highligh text" rectangle that growsI have managed to program my script to create a rectangle, but I need the anchor point to be placed in the left middle side of the rectangle, so the scale preset works good, I've been trying to configure it but cant seem to figure it out, if anyone can help! 😄

I have a mp4 that has 4 audio tracks and I need to select which one to use in after effects,Can I do this in app or do I have to export a temporary audio file every time.

I am facing an issue with After Effects Expression – maybe possible bug? Goal:I am creating a chat animation with bubble texts for each message. I try to write an expression so that each bubble text layer auto-positions itself vertically below the previous layer. So if a message is adapted, all subsequent messages auto-reposition. Expression:Initially I thought the expression for this should be fairly straight forward. For simplicity I call them “Source Layer” and “Target Layer”. The source layer has its vertical position “y”. I use a “property for expression - slider” effect in the source layer to calculate its height using an expression with “SourceRectAtTime” (and some other stuff).I see (!!!) the correct values in the source layer.In the target layer the “y” position is calculated with an expression referring to the previous layer with “index+1” adding “source-y”+”source-hight”.(Each subsequent Target layer hast the same functionality) Again I SEE (!!!) the correct v

 Hallo zusammen Ich habe ein "Problem" mit dem Konfetti. Ich habe eine gute Anleitung auf Youtube gefunden, aber irgendwie will es dennoch nicht so, wie ich es gerne hätte. Es geht mir bei dem um zwei Sachen: Erstens ist mir das ganze Konfetti, insbesondere von Polly2 viel zu schnell. Beim Polly 1 konnte ich es nach meinen Bedürfnissen anpassen, auch von der Geschwindigkeit mittels Gravitation.Bei Polly2 gestaltet sich das ganze schon schwieriger. Erstens kriege ich, egal was ich verändere, die Geschwindigkeit nicht gedrosselt - zweitens ist, wie auf dem Video zu sehen auch 2 Stellen, wo das Konfetti wie ein Ballon viel zu eng beieinander ist und das wirkt sehr störend.Ich möchte eig. das ganze auf 5 Sekunden strecken. So, dass ich am Schluss den Text mit dem Konfetti auf 5 Sekunden herunterschieben kann. Ich habe viel mit Gravity, Speed Randomness und so gespielt - selber bezeichne ich mich im After Effect noch als Anfänger, arbeite seit ca. 6 Monaten intensiv

I have had an issue come up recently in AE where the audio playing back in my headphones in the comp is distorted and sounds horrible. But then if I switch the audio device to my computer speakers it plays back with no issues. The preview seems to be rendered and the levels arent clipping (like I said, it plays back fine on the built in computer speakers). Also when playing on the headphones the db levels arent reading on the audio window, they just stay at 0 as the video plays with audio. When the computer speakers are being used for playback the levels are reading in the audio window.For some context, I'm using a MacBook Pro M1 Pro 16 Gb. AE 25.1.0. Bluetooth headphones Skull Candy ANC.Also, the headphones have worked previous with AE just fine with no distortion or issues. The problem just came up randomly.

In January I required adobe to access my Mac via the remote support customer Client. Upon exit, the program stayed on my computer. I cannot get rid of this program. When I restart the computer I always get a popup saying the remote support customer Client .dmg file cannot be found. The crest shows up in my tool bar and i have to force quit it to close it.I cannot restart my computer or shut it down without making sure this is force quit first. I just spent half an hour with adobe support and they had nothing to offer except. Force quit the program. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this stupid remote access program? I have done all the steps suggested on their help pages and nothing works. It's like a fricken STD at this point.

Need After Effects 22.0 For an older project. 

There is a star image in Ai file. This Ai file is imported to Ae. In Ae a black backgroud[BG] is appeared around the star image. In Mode switch "Add" option is selected to remove the black BG around the star image. What is the reason behind getting a black BG?     

When I try downloading after effects on my hp laptop it just shows 404 page not found. Is there a solution to this?   Title edited by Mod.

Hi everyone,I’m working on a 3D animation in Blender and using After Effects for compositing. My workflow involves rendering different scene elements as separate layers and then recombining them in After Effects. However, I’ve encountered an issue where a very faint outline appears at the edges of the layers when composited. It’s an area of transparency about 1-2 pixels thick.This may not be a Blender-specific issue, as it seems to be related to how holdout mattes generally work. I also discussed this on the Blender forums (link to discussion). Additionally, it’s not as simple as switching the alphas to premultiplied, as doing so results in a severely distorted alpha.Has anyone experienced this before, and is there a way to fix it inside After Effects? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The whole day I have issues with the Audio while previewing my videos. The Audio is only playing on the left speaker on my computer and on my earphones as well. When I try to Assign the right speaker and click OK, nothing happens, the speaker stays empty again.I already reset my computer and after effects as well but not success 😕😕

I know there's a way to do this because I've done it before but I cannot remember how to do it at all.  I have this box with the writing that says "ASHLEY SMYLIE". I want to precompose these things together and then I want it so that the selected area when clicking on the new ashley smylie precomp essentially selects the area immediately surrounding that graphic. At the moment when clicking on this precomp the entire composition's space is selected. This makes it a nightmare when trying to align to center and there seems to be no obvious solution. I have no idea how to explain this clearly so I hope this makes sense.I would prefer if people don't comment saying it's not possible as so many forums on this topic say that but I know there is a way.  

Hi, I imported this photoshopped picture (322x406) I imported into After effects and Im trying to match it to 1920x1080 of my video because its not motion tracking accurately when I use mocha. Problem is, when I right click the click the photo, "composition settings" is grayed out. It seems I need to use the recompose feature, but after watching about 15 youtube videos I still dont quite get how to use the precompose for the picture, as it seems to create a new layer. Im quite new to this, any help would be greatly appreciated! TIA

Hi allI recently created a new logo and converted it to an animated version inside After Effects using the masking tools over a gradient (see attached).Now, the issue is that for some reason, even after render the edges are not ant-aliased.How can I make these edges smoother, as the only topis I see are apply a blur, which is NOT what I want, I want it anti-aliased if possible.Thanks in advanceRob

Im having difficulties with Ae Version 25.1 (build68)Since I updated my after effects I have recieved this error message on start up.I assume it must be with one of my plugins or preferences because I have tried numerous times to uninstall and reinstall ae and it makes no difference. My C4D rendered also doesnt work and crashes the whole program if I try to render anything with it

And add the distortion to the plain concentric circles as my circles seem to pulse and the shape flexes and I want to keep the spacing more equal between the circles as they expand out. Thanks in advance! Matt PS my attempt attached!

Hello,It seems that I'm having some problem using a font that I have installed on my computer but it's not appearing on After Effects font list.The weirdest thing is that the font has several weights, but only one appears one - Italic, as the image shows.The font is not on TypeKit, because it's the Renault brand font. So, if anyone has any idea on how to help me, please, I would really appreciate it !(I have the newest version of After Effects CC)
