After Effects

I have what I think is a very simple question about Null Objects that I just can't seem to figure out.  I've got three null objects as parent to several child objects moving nicely across the screen. Simple motion from one side to the other. But, I'd like all three Null Objects and all their children to pause for a few seconds and then start moving again. I've tried to create keyframes to pause the motion in the Null Object but that doesn't seem to work. The objects don't stay still but jump back and forth between two keyframes with the exact same position.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi.  In the attached images I have a heart particle system along with the settings and I would like to know what I can do to make the following adjustments: 1) How can I make the particles full opacity throughout?2) How do I chance the color so all the hearts match the Asset_heart attached?3) I have the glue effect on my floor and would like the hearts to stick for a couple seconds then disappear without the opacity fade.  How can I fix that. Thank you in advance.

Hello,I'm trying to get straight, un-transformed RGB out of AE into ProRes .mov for motion graphics for webpage viewing. I'm doing a bunch of test exports to try to figure out how to do that. In the Export Settings > Summary section of the Format (Quicktime) Options panel, I noticed no matter what I change (Project Settings, Render Settings), it always contains Rec. 709 (circled in screenshot). I think this might be the root of my color problems.Does anyone know how to remove this Rec. 709?Thank you. 

im trying to test my plugin for after effect but adobe uxp development tool dont have support of after effect what should i do now. i talked with agent they are also saying you have to raise the issue in community 

I'm working in After Effects 2020.My preview playback is off-center within the composition panel and I don't know how to fix it.I'm sure it's an easy fix but I am completely new to this program.

In After Effects, every time I import a 3D object, it is automatically recognized as a Trapcode object, even though I am using the correct AE version and workflow. Steps to reproduce:1. Open After Effects 2. Import a 3D object obj, gbl and verything else i tried3. Observe that AE labels it as a Trapcode object Expected result:The 3D object should import normally as a native 3D layer, without being converted or linked to Trapcode.Actual result:AE always treats the imported object as Trapcode, preventing proper use as a native AE 3D object.Platform: Windows 11 

I'm writing to you today because I'm absolutely floored by the performance hit I've taken in After Effects (v25.3.2) since the latest update, combined with the NVIDIA driver (576.90). Seriously, my workflow has been thrown back to the Stone Age, and it's making my job incredibly difficult.What used to take minutes now takes hours. It's like my NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 is no longer being utilized properly. Everything that isn't standard HD is being encoded by software, which is just ridiculously slow. And just to be clear, I'm not even using VBR 2-pass encoding; I'm sticking to single-pass! I'm now stuck rendering to Apple ProRes first, then converting that to MP4 (H.264), just to get anything done. This two-step process is eating up so much time, and it's simply unsustainable for my deadlines.My rig is no slouch either: an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, 64GB of RAM, and Windows 11. It's built for performance, and After Effects is currently bottlenecking everything.This isn't just an inconvenience;

My After effects is showing the error: "Adobe After Efffects 2025.app" is corruptedt and cannot be opened. We recommend moving the item to the trash." I tried reinstalling, caleaning, downgrade to older versions. All without any effect. I am using a 2023 mac studio, Apple M2 Ultra proccessor with 128GB Ram and Sequoia 15.5 - german language. I also tried to delete the camera raw plugin in the CC-Plugin / library folder.  I read this in the foum. The other adobe prgrams are working well. Please help me... This window appers right in that moment after doublke clicking the symbol.  

Why is it called pre-composed? This activity separate & creates the layer in a new composition. In my view most sitable name is post-composed.

But now i am unable to integrate from asp.net and sql server. I am able to integrate with excelsheet but not able to integrate with Sql server. Greetings Community, I'm using After Effects, and when I put a project in the timeline, it automatically adjusts to the length of the media (COOL, GREAT, AMAZING shout out to yall), but it won't let me zoom out of the time to see the entire length if I add media that is longer than the original import. Is my AE buggin, is this intentional, or am I just missing something? 

I am experimenting with creating multiple variations of the same animation in After Effects- where all that changes from variation to variation is 1 image and 1 color. I have the project set up so that all colors within are pick-whipped to a Color Control effect layer, which works well. I am aware that I could write a script inside AE that could set up a nice GUI interface to make this process even easier. However, is there an option to do this OUTSIDE of After Effects? So for example, I could design a web interface, where I could select the color for the control layer, and then it would create an AEP, or even better, tell AE to render the anination with that color?

First time using AE for masking so sorry if this is basic. We use mattes to adjust colour, not to cut out objects. We'd prefer to track just a few key objects, then combine or subtract those mattes to create alphas for grading the rest of the elements. e.g. Consider this shot of bed sheets and an arm...  We can create masks for the sheets and the arm, but Roto Brush either ignores the arm but misses the overlap where sheets go behind it—or tracks the arm which creates missmatched alphas between the sheet and arm alphas, causing halo artifacts after grading. Questions1. Can we teach Roto Brush to see the sheets as an object, then subtract a separate arm alpha?2. Or is there another tool to mask-out the arm from the sheets Roto Brush - and if so, whats the best tool to use? Also, we've only just started playing with Roto Brush, so layer-wise, do we create the masks on multiple instances of the same clip (on differtent layers), then multiply/subract layers to

Hello, I have a problem with the casting box position, the value of the Z does not go beyond 30000 and it place the box like this when I click on Fit to Scene. I can't moove the box behond so I can't see the shadow of my car deeper into my scene, I do a lot of search but I have no answer to how fix this box problem.

So say that I have an icon that I animate on the Y-axis +40px, but instead of trying to hand key the other layer each time, is there an expression I can write to have the other layer move in the opposite Y direction the same amount of units (ex: -40px)?Thanks!

More than once, in different projects that have nothing to do with each other (no merges or project imports), I have had After Effects alert me when deleting unused comps that they're in use. I know they're not in use because I'm familiar with the projects and After Effects itself shows that these comps are not in use by not displaying a "used X times" message next to the comp name in the project panel. Steps - search bar, type in Unused, select a comp listed, hit delete, get the alert. Finish by smacking After Effects for now having a problem with a process that didn't use to have a problem. v 25.2.0 Build 131Windows 11 

Hello there! On this Ukramedia video, he explains how he created a .CSV file on Excel and how he can batch render multiple clips on one click from AE using that .CSV file. In order to do so, around 9:54, he talks about a script that he created for this situation, and by using that script, he can batch render in one click multiple videos based on the rows inside the Excel file. Is there any way I could do this without his plugin? Another plugin will do the work as well, but I currently can't find anything like that. Most of the stuff I've found is how to link Texts from AE to columns on a .CSV file, but what I am looking for here is to export different versions of the same video with a different text. Thank you all! PS: an option on Premiere will do the work as well, but just wondering if I could do it on AE. Any other alternative without using a .CSV file will do the work too 🙌

Hello, I need to compare values between 2 consecutive frames (in this case the Y position). How do I get that value in the previous frame? Once I have that it's just if-else from there on.
