After Effects

I have put a precomp inside a precomp inside a precomp. I get bad resolution after export, much worse then when the precomps where not inside each other this way. Is this to be expected? I do this way to get a cleaner workspace.

I'm sure this has been asked before but I search did not find it. I have seperate .obj and .mtl files. How do I import and attach the material?

Hello... how to loop composition with CC Bubbles effect in AE?

Hi guys! sorry about this simple question, i created a retangular shape layer and i need to animate her using trim path, like a loading bar, but when i try to do this, the bar fills sideways, like on this screen shot. I need the bar filled like a loading bar, i know i can use mate to use other shape layer to hide him and animate position to reveal the original shape, but i was wondering how i can do this with trim path! thanks

After effects seems to forget keyboard shortcut (cmd+m). For example I'm animating some graphic elements and everything is working well, but when I try to export the final animation, I'm pressing cmd+m (the shortcut I made, somehow this new after effects doesn't have it by default) it doesn't work, but when I just open the menu for keyboard shortcuts and close it, without changing or adding anything, it works. It's like I have to remind it by just opening the menu...Weird

I noticed someone else had a very similar problem back in February, but had just upgraded to CS3 and opened a 6.5 file. I'm working on a file I just began a couple of days ago in CS3 and have begun having the same problem today. The problem is that at seemingly random times, keyframes that I've been moving back and forth to tweak suddenly cease to be selectable. If I singe-click on them with either mouse button, nothing happens. If I double-click on them with either mouse button, the current setting dialogue box pops up. BUT--if I drag a marquee around one or more of them, they will get selected--I just can't move them. I'll drag a keyframe or keyframes one way, it won't be quite right, so I'll try to drag them back, and suddenly some of them won't go, and when I try to select them singly, they just stay gray. They show up in the graph editor, but I can't move them there either. I have no idea what's going on. Anybody else know what's going on? Thanks, Clint

Nothing is showing up in the composition panel in after effects.  I created a new project and added my text layers in the timeliness but it not show up in the composition window. It will not preview or anything. Zoom is fine and yes thing are actually added to the timeline to view (texts). Is it that the driver is not updated? 

I have a project and since opening and converting to the new version I cannot resave it.After Effects error: bad tracked memory ID ( 23 :: 35 )This is on top of the fact that I can no longer import pngs. Four days to a deadline this is a real emergency. Wondering wether the update hasn't gone so well or can I really not import png files any more???Can anyone help? I'm thinking a quick fix will be to continue with the previous version until the project is done but not sure how to revert back to a previous version...

When I make a new composition, nothing shows up in my preview window

Hi, Having really major weird problems with AE. I work with mapping, and have perhaps 200 vertices that I move around the map for frontline movements. If I don't close down AE and restart it every 15-30 minutes, I am basically wasting huge amounts of time just waiting for it to process moving vertices around. My mouse clicks take 2-3 seconds to register. If I move the mouse while it tries to register it, the vertice gets misplaced. So it becomes a complete torture. My projects use x2 Photoshop PSD documents that are basically images with some layers imported from PS as PSDs to AE. In total projects have 5 6 layers on average. What is wrong with AE? After I restart the app, it works normally and fast, for hence some time, and then it is back to a crawl. I have just bought a PC upgrade to help in working with AE, and it seems like a waste of money now too. Because AE just seems to ruin itself anyway. I have 64G RAM (had 96G before but bit slower RAM; but so

Hello,I'm trying to design this responsive text box but can't get it quite right.I have a shape layer containing the following shapes - (Group 1) - - Color (Rectangle)- Base (Rectangle)- Stroke The "COLOR" shape is a thin highlight at the bottom of the box. I need to link the width of that shape to the width of the "BASE" shape. The "BASE" shape is controlled by an expression to make it responsive to a text layer. The main issue I'm having is the "BASE" shape is rounded. I can copy the same sourceRectAtTime expression to the "COLOR" shape but then can't shrink the height using the transfrom property without smooshing the rounded corners. So I'm hoping I can just link the X property in the "COLOR" shapes Size controller to the X property of the "BASE" shape.

Hey everryone! I was wondering whether anyone could help me in this matter, I am quite puzzled to why the paint brush isn't working in after effects, whether I don't have the right setting or i'm pressing the wrong thing I don't know, sorry if this sounds like an easy question to some, anyone know where Im going wrong? tb Helen

I would like to make a weather map graphic with lots of symbols and pasting them all over the map takes me ages. I just want to select an item from the project folder window and then click wherever I want in the project window and the image would be pasted into that position. Is there a paste image at cursor position plugin or something I could use to aid me in this?Ideally a scale option would also be handy but as long as the centre position is central then I could always scale them down after if they pasted in too big!Any help would be appreciated.Mac

I may be missunderstanding what AE is doing here, but it seems like a gradient on a path just doesn't transition that well/smoothly as I would expect. Infact, I might go as far as to say it's broken, there appears to be a ledge in AE that isn't there in other Adobe programs. This is in Illustrator: The same gradient in After Effects: Exactly the same colours and positions (albiet the angles might be slightly different). In AE note how the file colour is taking up approximatly 40% of the gradient, no matter how far I move the middle colour towards the final colour all it does is change the amount of space that the colour transition takes up, instead of making the space for the final colour smaller.Although both aren't finished, the Illustrator version is a lot closer to what I am attempting to do. Am I doing it wrong?I appreciate I might be able to achieve this a few different ways, this just seems the easiest way as I am animating the shape and eventually the gradie

Hello guys,   Do you have similar experience on encoding failure? How can you solve that? I have tried rendering in AE and in Media Encoder; in different format like h264 and quicktime. Even tried to render with another computer. I'm trying to create a mogrt Template for the first time, following this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOoAq_xnviw. Everything works fine in After Effects, but when I export it as a mogrt and import in Premiere, none of the properties that I set up via expression controls works, only those that I directly pulled from the layer into the Essential Graphics window. So when I have a shape layer, go into Content > Rectangle > Fill and drag that colour into the Essential Graphics window, I am able to change the colour in Premiere too. But when I put a "Fill" effect on the layer, as told in the tutorial, and pick whip that colour onto a "Color Control" Effect on a Null layer – I can change the colour via the Essential Graphics tab in After Effects just fine, but Premiere just ignores this. The Colour Control property is shown in Premiere, but the Shape will have the regular rectangle fill colour, not the one determined by the Fill effect, and while I am technically

I have recently upgraded my PC and reinstalled the latest version of AE. I now don't have the menu option File > Scripts > Open Script Editor. Can anyone tell what I need to do to get in order to develop and debug scripts.Many thanks.

Hello. After much searching around the web, C++ SDK files, and documentation, I can only conclude that there doesn't seem to be any officially endorsed methods by Adobe for supporting listener/event-based communication between C++ plugins and CEP extensions (or even between C++ and ExtendScript for that matter). For CEP <-> ExtendScript, this is a solved problem using CSXS Events / PlugPlug.  However, for: C++ <-> CEP C++ <-> ExtendScript There is no native listener/event intercommunication system; at least, nothing in the SDK or any developer forums online seems to suggest so. From what I can gather, there appear to be at least four possible, but not ideal, options on the table: Grafting the Adobe Illustrator SDK code for the PlugPlug library into After Effects (Ref 1, Ref 2). This seems inconclusive / vaguely plausible at best, and a wild goose chase at worst. This seems like it could work on paper, but it reads like

I thought this would be a great combination, but I'm facing a lot of performance issues in Adobe applications.After Effects & Media Encoder: The GPU is not being fully utilized, even though I have enabled all necessary settings. Rendering times are unexpectedly long.Premiere Pro: Initially, it wasn’t working at all, but now it runs sometimes. However, I still face issues when importing files from After Effects.I have tried:✅ Setting GPU acceleration to OpenCL✅ Adding Adobe apps in Windows Graphics settings✅ Updating Intel Arc drivers & Adobe appsDespite all this, I still face performance issues. I'm trying to warp only the word "close" to make it look like a pinch/squeeze, but whenever I add an effect it seems like it's still adding it to the original unmasked video. I've changed the anchor point to the mask, and if I precompose the mask it will do the same thing when I add an effect.

HiMy After Effects 2024 Mac not launching. I have unistalled, reinstalled, Done the Ctrl+Shift+Option when trying to open. Nothing seems to work. It gives me the following message: After Effects can't continue. Error while accessing the preference files inside /Users/Ldk/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/24.5. Please verify the permissions and try again. And then After Effects can't continue. An unexpected error has occured and After Effects will now shutdown.Please check you have the appropriate permissions to launch After Effects as well as read/write access to the After Effects preferences folder. Nothing seems to be working. Any advise available?
