After Effects

Hi,This is the first time that I have to work in a linear ACES workflow, and I'm a bit confused. I want to use the Content-Aware Fill tool but I'm having issues.Context: I'm working with an .exr footage, I have some VFX to do, and I later have to deliver the compositions in ACEScg.Problem: I seem to have correctly color managed the clip using the OCIO Color Space Transform tool effect (Sony S-log3 ⇢ ACEScg). I then try using the Content-Aware Fill tool, but the result is unusable: the colors are off. I assume that I have to apply an OCIO Color Space Transform on the Fill Layer as well, but I can't seem to find the right color space input/output. I'm probably missing something here. Any idea how I can solve this? Thank you.Project Settings : I'm running on a MacMini M2 Pro 32Go. After Effects version 23.5.0 (Build 52).

I pay an Adobe subscription and have only been able to use my after effects ONCE, I'm so upset. Whenever I open my ae and create a composition there is a black screen and I can't see anything, even if I import footage, NOTHING WORKS, I've uninstalled and installed, older and newer versions, my computer is brand new and great specs (HP Omen 17) and I used to use ae everyday on my old computer with way worse specs and this never happened. I've followed more than 5 youtube videos on different things to do and absolutely nothing has worked please help. 

  

Please help, unable to open the file

Whenever I playback a composition in AE with the spacebar, it plays for about 4 seconds and then begins looping the section it rendered. It's totally impossible to watch an entire composition without constantly restarting the playback, and none of the playback settings inside AE seem to change anything.

iam completely new to Adobe. i want to learn AfterEffect. please suggest me how to start and which is the best tutorial

I have 8 gigs of RAM (which I know is not enough for the application) but I'm performing a very basic task with some animation, and while After Effects is using only 3-5% of my RAM. I have allocated 6GB for use in the Memory settings and it's not utilising it which is making me end up with very slow rendering speeds. Also, for a few seconds when I started my render, it showed that it was using 25-35% of my RAM and it was evident with the speeds but then it dipped down to 3-5% again in like 5-6 seconds.

Mac M2 MaxMemory 96GBVentura 13.5.1After Effects v 23.6.0Premiere Pro v23.6.0I am working a project which is adding some title/graphics cards and lower thirds to a Premiere Pro project via dynamic link. I am also working with someone else using a windows machine, swapping a removable hard drive back and forth, but we are both on the latest version of all Adobe programs. If I open the .aep from Premiere (Edit Original) to make an edit, and hit save, the entire After Effects project file disappears. It does not go to the trash, it is not in the folder where the file was created, it seems to be completely gone. My workaround for the moment when this happens is to do a "Save As" and put the file back where it belongs, but there is high risk I will slip up and wipe out a project completely by absentmindedly hitting save and forgetting to put it back in it's path.

playback is lagging since the new update my system has been lagging System info    Application: After Effects v25.1.0.68    OS: Windows v10.0.22631, RAM: 31.68 GB GB, CPUs (logical): 8

I keep getting stuck on render when working on projects with 2 minutes+ duration, the elapsed time stops moving and it doesn't matter how much I wait, nothing changes. also, everytime it gets stuck on a different frame, so it's nothing frame or effect specific. Shorter projects don't seem to have trouble rendering The program doesn't crash and I can still click on the stop button, but it doesn't do anything and nothing happens, either it's to h264 or prores, still the same This project literally only have 4 color gradient being used as an effect, nothing else but it happened on other projects as wellI've cleaned the cache and did everything except reinstall I'm running version 24.6 and I can't update to 25 because some plugins I use still don't work with the new version (although i have very simple plugins)Specs: Macbook Pro M3 Pro - 18gb RAM | 512GGB - macOS Sequoia 15.5Rendering local to an external SSD (tried rendering to my mac's ssd but still the same problem)

As i was working on my project, my after effects suddenly crashed. So i reopened it and it gave me the opportunity to launch it on "safe mode", so i clicked on it. After that, i realized all my projects were gone. Pay in mind i have my auto save on every 20 minutes so no clue how the folders could have just disappeared on its ownThe auto save feature was set to every 20 minutes and the save path was set to "next to project"I have used boris plugins but i uninstalled them. Though i recall that everytime i opened that project in the past. it would claim that some projects were missing. Perhaps the safe mode had deleted the files because of that?

Hello, I was using Roto brush got everything that I wanted and froze it however, when I played it back, my subjects body goes transparent for a frame so I jump back into after effects to try to roto brush this one frame I don't really know how to properly unfreeze? or to tell if it's unfrozen? And secondly, now my Roto brush layer everything is blacked out except what I already wrote a brush. How do I turn off that?

Hola, estaba usando ae como normalmente lo hago. Cree un nuevo proyecto y al adjuntar solo dos videos ya no me respondia o tardaba en hacerlo. ¿Alguna solución? Ya borré el cache.Gracias.

After Effects crashes on my Mac (M1 Max, 64GB RAM /  32 Core) whenever I import a video or perform similar actions—spinning wheel of death every time. It works fine on Windows 11, but I’d really prefer to finish the project on macOS. Any ideas on a fix? I could really use the help.

The software itself will open and then open again in the same window (as shown in photo) and then stops responding. I have tried all of the classic fixes and nothing has worked.This is the most recent version 25.2.2, but also does not work on previous versions.I am not even trying to open a project, this is just launching the program. That being said, it also doesn't work when trying to open a project. 

Hello, I am trying to use CC Libaries in After Effects and am running into a resolution issue. Multiple Photoshop files in my libary import into after effects at very low resolutions. However the source for this libary is high resolution. When I important this same file into photoshop instead of after effects, it is also high resolution. The low resolution issue is only coming from After Effects. An Example:  Any help is appricated! Thank you!

Hi! I'm new to the AE community and new to learning the program. I know some very basic things, and I’d like to learn more about the most useful terms to understand more complex compositions or to create my own, especially for 2D animation.For example, I want to give an effect a limited time, and then make it come back later in the same layer. Or I want a loop to also have a time or frame limit. I’m not sure if I’m explaining this well, English is not my first language 😞I know basic things like how to make a loop and add effects, simple things like -loopOut("cycle")-, which applies for the whole time of the animation.So I tried looking for a glossary in After Effects, but after reading to understand some terms, I felt like I wasn’t getting anywhere. I’d like to understand the order in which expressions should be written, and what the difference is between setting a time limit and a frame limit in a composition.I’d really appreciate any help, especially if someone has a glossary

Hello AE community, I've been working on AE since more than 10 years now and have never encountered an issue like this. There was an issue on one of my projects regarding keylight a couple of months back and I had to do with another keying effect on it. However, post that Keylight seems to be missing from my effects altogether. I've tried everything from re-installing to moving the plugin folder in the Applications but nothing seems to work. Have attached a couple of screengrabs for reference. Has anyone else encountered such an issue? What's the fix for it? I'm running on an Intel MacOS and the latest version of AE if that helps. Highly appreciate any help. Thanks a ton in advance!
