After Effects

I tried importing a .glb file, but AE reads it as a .fla file for some reason. Why does this happen? What am I doing wrong?

Hi everyone,I'm having trouble with an expression, and after trying multiple workarounds, I still can't get it to work. Maybe you have an idea or a hint?Here's my setup:I have several text layers (Item01, Item02, etc.), each with a slider called "Value."The slider values change over time on different layers.I want to sort the layers dynamically, so the layer with the highest value is always on top. If the values change, the order updates automatically. This part is already working! The issue is that the position changes instantly, and I want to smooth the transition using ease or linear. But no matter what I try, I can't get it to work properly. I've experimented with different approaches. This (below) method works for the first few seconds, but later in the timeline, the smooth transition stops working. I cant figure out to get the ease working with the right timing, the problem is (i guess) that the calculation for the ease time is wrong...but i dont know how to fix it...i

I just noticed that project link metadata (AeProjectLinkFullPath, WindowsAtomUncProjectPath) is no longer written by After Effects or Premiere. I tested a few different Quicktime codecs and a few different machines with identical AE/Premiere versions and was not able to find that metadata. Is this intentional? Is project link metadata being sunset?Windows 11AE 25.1, Premiere 25.1(I haven't tested MacOS for MacAtomPosixProjectPath yet.)

I'm trying to apply the audio spectrum effect to a Star of David shape but to make on I need to make 2 triangles and have 1 of the triangles upside down. But that would create 2 shapes/masks and I wouldn't be able to apply the audio spectrum effect. There is indeed a 6 pointed star I can use but it's not quite a Star of David.

Hi,  I'm quite new to After Effects, I am trying to export a simple animation of a logo. But every time I export, it only exports a 00:00 video of a white background. Does anyone know how to solve this? I've attached screenshots of my current composition. Thank you! 

Hi there,I have a question for experienced animators or designers who have worked on projects like "Manhunt: The Search for Bin Laden" (2013) by The Mill.How do you approach the workflow for sequences with seamless camera movement from scene to scene, similar to this project?It seems logical to create a large comp design to achieve the smooth transitions, but a big comp might put a lot of pressure on the system(hence time-consuming) and also make it harder to modify the designs.I am thinking about design frame by frame and then find a way to connect everything together. Still quite fully get the logical approach.For those who have worked on similar projects in studios, what workflow did you use to manage this kind of design and animation?Thank you so much for your help in advance

When i work in AE and drag compositions from the project panel to Adobe Media Encoder, After Effects creates one (1) new temp file for each comp, such as tmpAEtoAMEProject-Comp.aep. Lots of comps means lots of files...But when i have exported and close Adobe Media Encoder all temp files that After Effects created are still on the hard drive. Why has i as the user no option to automatically delete those when i have Remove completed files from queue on exit checked in the Preferences for Adobe Media Encoder?What have i missed?

Ever since I got my new laptop (Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 16-r0xxx (Extra info at the bottom)) My After Effects will show a black screen in the composition window. This problem randomly started happening at the beginning of the week and is happening across multiple versions of After Effects and projects that were rendered normally before. I currently have 32Gb RAM from which 16Gb is allocated for Adobe software. After experiencing the infamous error -1609629695 (that still wasn't solved for me), I started investigating other possible reason for my constant error messages. This got me to discover Adobe Products consuming 89% of my RAM. Sometimes my projects render normally, as it was before, but more often than not, error messages are piling up, and everything on my computer crashes at once. After some time, I found this:'aerendercore' seems to be the culprit. Other software like Blender or Audacity are functioning normally. Is there a certain way for Adobe products to use the RAM I allow it to use?

Adobe After Effects 2019 running on a MAC Sierra 10.12.6Recently updated to 2019 and had to reimport scripts. I used the FILE > Scripts > Install Scripts UI Panel method. I now have duplicate listings under WINDOW.  I also would like to remove one of the scripts totally. What I tried:- Totally removing the .jsx file from the computer ( /Applications/Adobe After Effects CC 2019/Scripts/ScriptUI Panels/)- Doing a general .jsx search on the computer to see if it was copied somewhere.- Clearing the Media & Disk CacheI cannot remove items, or get rid of duplicate listings.Is this information stored somewhere in another file?

Hi ive had rhis problem for homestly a year ive searched everywhere every place online and not a single person knows or has responded my pre composed clips move when i enter back into my project and when i try move them they go into like a grid lock so i cant align them 

Does anyone know how to centre a 3D Gizmo? I've imported an OBJ from Dimension. All looks great, except the Gizmo on every 3D object seems to default to the bottom of an asset. It's centered in Dimension, and have tried Transform > Center Anchor Point, but nothing works. Cheers

hi i'm searching for help. i use ae cc20. i saw some tutorial on youtube for colouring and it must have channel mixer to complete the colouring. the problem is my magic bullet suit doesnt have channel mixing. how do i fix it ? 

I'm using After Effects silent install with a powershell scripthttps://silentinstallhq.com/adobe-after-effects-cc-silent-install-how-to-guide/..and then I have the powershell script create a ae_render_only_node.txt file in Documents so it's set up as a render node. However I have custom render settings that I don't believe are imported with the package.I want to automate the After Effects setup on different machines, and if have to create the render settings/output modules for each instance, I would have to first remove the ae_render_only_node.txt so I can access the UI, change those settings by loading .ars/.oem files, then putting  ae_render_only_node.txt back. And I'm trying to avoid manual work during AE setup.My idea is to find the config files, and replace them using powershell after AE installation. That way everything would be setup by just running a powershell script. Is this even doable? In which file(s) are the render settings and output modules stored?

Please, where can I download After Effects 23? Anyone with useful information?

HI All,I thought I would post here for answers first before reaching out to adobe. I have searched for answers on the internet, with no real result. I am having issues with the color changing when I import a .AI file to After Effects. The Document color mode is RGB. I created RGB swatches for each color and applied to the shape of the logo. I have Assigned Profile Working RGB: sRGB IE61966-2. Attached is an image from Illustrator (1) and an image from After Effects (2). Any suggestions would be appreciated.(1)(2)

After effects giving errors whenever trying to change font. I have installed fonts from creative cloud and from other sources too. This error gives even trying to change system fonts like Arial, Times etc.

Hi! Can I install older version of AE then available in the Adobe Creative Cloud?I want to install AE 2022. Reason: after update to AE 2023 or 2024 I always have same error with importing absolutly different MP4 files, like "file cannot be opened it may be in an unsupported format". Importing any other formats (excluding mp4) - OK

Hello guys,I have a problem with colors in After Effects after the latest update. When I import MP4 or MOV videos, the colors look different from the original files. This didn’t happen before I update the Adobe version last week.I checked the Project Settings and Working Color Space, and they are set to "None." How can I make sure the imported videos keep their original colors?Thank you for your help.Best regards,

When im using AE for some reason randomly playback stops to work, after doing some research and testing things out myself, I have discovered that whenever i have headsets plugged in or bluetooth headphone on likemy airpods this issue occurs. Bonjour,Depuis un certain temps maintenant, la prévisualisation dans After Effects à partir du raccourcis "0" du pavé numérique (ou via le bouton dédié) cesse de fonctionner dès que je débranche/rebranche un casque audio de mon PC. Pour faire refonctionner la prévisualisation, je suis obligé d'aller dans Préférences / Matériel Audio et de modifier la Sortie par défaut...ce qui est très pénible.Auriez-vous une idée de ce qui peut provoquer ce problème, svp ?Je précise que le problème se produit aussi bien sur la version 2024 d'After Effects que sur la version 2025.

I used After Effects 2023 for a while now and finally wanted to switch to After Effects 2024. My After Effects 23 was in english, so i wanted to change the 24 version to english as well. Ive tried everything, but the effects still are in german. Everything else is in english. Is there a way to fix this? I already reinstalled it but the Effects still are in german. Im on Windows btw 🙂 Hope someone can help 😄
