After Effects

It appears that a recent AE update changed requirements for plugins to be run  while this is a marginal win for anti-piracy (it requires pirates to self sign their bundles, or write an installer to do so, but let's face it most pirates are not buying luxury computers), it would mostly seem to break older plugins which for various reasons have decided not to sign. Since most of the effected plugins are free (The best reason not to sign a bundle is because it costs $99 a year) there are probably a few useful and widely used plugins that have been bricked. Is there a place this change could be documented? is there a place the error codes in the plugin loading logs are documented?

After Effects keeps freezing when previewing compositions, especially with heavy effects. Tried clearing cache and adjusting RAM settings, but no luck. Anyone else experiencing this? Any solutions?

I'm getting a GPU crash with AE 2025 using my Geforce RTX 2060 as well as a 2080 cards.  This does not reproduce with my RTX 6000 Ada card.  It also does not reproduce with AE 2024.  This GPU crash happens when i'm selecting random notification from windows or selecting slack from my windows task bar.   This was tested on Windows 11, using latest AE 25.  Repro Steps:Open up AECreate a new project with any media (I used a 1080 mp4 clip)Select slack from task barGPU freezes up and crashes  Actual Results:GPU freezes up for a min or so and then crashes Expected Results:GPU should be fine and slack should open

Hey guys, Since CC21 I have a bug which drives me a little demented.When I play back something and then  uncheck it in the Timeline,'Toggle Mask and Shape Path visibility' turns itself off, for no reason. Please watch the video attached. Kind Regards

 Hello! I have a problem to open plugin m.b looks. When i wanted to turn on the button "edit", so plugin was crashed like i send a screen error here. I tried different things, example, reinstall this plugin or ae, update a new drivers or change a preference, but it doesn't work. Maybe is problem about pluggin, which looks don't opened for fun. Anyone have a different idea to fix a error in ae? Thanks you!

Hi I was wondering if there is a way to nest a looping pre-comp into a longer timeline and have it loop?

I've just started using AFX 25.1.0 and Media Encoder 25.1 on my MacBook Pro 2020 M1 with 16GB (running Sonoma 14.6.1). Renders are now inexplicably slow. A render that used to take 2mins with the previous version of AFX and ME is now taking 40mins!!! There is nothing complicated in the project. I can see that the render grinds to a halt when proccessing .MP4 video or .png image sequneces. The videos and image sequences are not even big (1920 x 1080). I know my macbook is a little old and 16GB not a massive amount of ram (these days) but... the same machine had no problem with these sequences in previous versions of AFX and ME. It is driving me crazy. Is anyone else having similar issues? Any ideas for a fix? Would be very grateful if anyone can help. kind regards Paul

Hi, I recently downloaded adobe suite and honestly have no idea what I'm doing yet. I installed the geolayers 3 plugin without any issues but when watching tutorials I noticed that they all have their geolayers open in the right side panel. When I launch it from extensions it opens in its own panel and remains that way throughout. It's extremely awkward and makes the entire process very tiresome. Does anyone know how I fix this?

I have a use case of a simple Mask and would like to keyframe the Mask Opacity On and Off (0% - 100%) however, the Mask Opacity is working as if it is the "Transform Opacity". I strongly believe this is a Bug. 

I've 100+ layers. I can easily click it in the visual preview, but it's too tough to find every element in the layers panel by scrolling up & down for every other element. Isn't there a hotkey to do this?(not talking about type & search feature here)

Hello, for the last couple of months, every time I open After Effects I get this:  After Effects error: internal verification, sorry! {no current context} It's an especially annoying dialog since it give you zero info to do anything about it.  I have reset my preferences, rebooted my machine and opened all my files outside of AE to confirm they aren't damaged.  Not sure what else I can do at this point.  Mac Pro 2019 256GB OS 15.4.1. AE 25.2.2

I am trying to export a Mogrt with media replacement, which doesn't work with Dynamic Link. That's cool. I'm not using the C4D renderer, Cineware, or C4D files. I'm not even using 3D space at all. But I still get the error message -  "This Motion Graphics template requires Dynamic Link, which does not support Media Replacement controls. Please remove the Media Replacement controls or ensure that Dynamic Link is not required.The Following filetypes, renderers or effects are only supported via Dynamic Link: CINEMA 4D" How do I ensure that Dynamic Link is not required? 

Hi, can anyone share the upgrade from version 23 to 23.6.x for macOS or its installer? I've spoken to Adobe and they only give me version 23. My computer doesn't support v24, so I'm looking for the latest update to 23. Thanks for reading.

Hi everyone,I'm using the "For Each Layer" block in my script. What I’m trying to do is:Get the current layer's position.Add +100 to the position.Set this value to the next layer.Everything works fine except for the last layer. For example, if I have 10 layers, all 10 positions are set correctly, but I get this error: execution result: could not find object with path '11': layer 11 does not exist Because the script tries to access layer 11, which doesn't exist, it throws an error and stops the script.I tried using index-based logic to avoid the last layer, but variables don't seem to work properly inside the "For Each Layer" block.Has anyone solved this issue? How can I skip the last layer in a "For Each Layer" loop to avoid this error?Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,I’ve created an isometric design in Illustrator and want to animate it in After Effects to match the style exactly. I’m very new to AE and my goal is to make the letters extrude in and out smoothly I’ve been trying to isolate and animate just the front anchor points (so they push in and out over time), but I’m struggling to highlight or move only those points. I was planning to keyframe their position over time, but I can’t seem to isolate the front anchors on their own. Is there a better way to do this — maybe with a mask or a different technique? If I can get one letter working, I think I’ll be able to figure out the rest. Any help would be massively appreciated! Thanks!

Hello When I turn on the after effects program and turn on advanced 3d, the program crashes after I convert a layer to 3d. In the beginning, some kind of error came out. I just rebooted and that's it, I did the project. I just can't open it right now. a window pops up and says "you need to save before exiting", I did nothing with a new project...my laptop specifications intel core i5-10300H NVIDIA geforce gtx 1650 ti

Hello, I am unable to install ADOBE After Effects v23.6.9 on a MacPro 2013 (cylinder) purchased in 12/2019, 2nd generation, under MacOS Monterey v12.7.6, , Intel Xeon E5-1650 v2 6-core processor. Same with After Effects v24.0 and v24.1

what the meaning? and what I do?

Hi All, Having some trouble animating "teeth" on a chainsaw along the path of the chainsaw (Image for reference). I tried to copy the path of the chainsaw to the position of one of the "teeth" then auto-orient the shape, but it didnt seem to work, might it be I have the anchor point in the wrong position? I had the anchor point of the shape in the middle, then had it on the path of the shape itself, both did work. Any ideas? Defo missing something here. Let me know if more info is needed

When you animate the anchor point the object itself moves, That's shouldn't happen, what should happen is that only the anchor point moves, Why? so we can actually use the anchor point animation to make something, if i want to move the object i would use the position property not anchor point property Showcase: If i want to make a rolling cube, I can't just rotate then change the anchor point, No I have to make workarounds, Cause anchor point is moving the object

Every object is on its own layer. Saved with a compatible pdf. Imported as All Acceptable Files, Composition - Retain Layer Sizes. All of the layers appear as blank.
