After Effects

The glow on my mask is black for some reason. I am not sure why, but I am trying to create white and blue glow, but no matter what I do, my glow is always black. I have tried changing all of hte colors, and redoing the process, but it is always black. At one point it would switch from black to the normal colors halfway, but it stopped doing that. 

 I dont understand why my computer can't run this app  

I was hoping packaging or collecting files would actually "package" a project into one folder, so I can delete all links and redundant files, and clean up folders with 10 versions of one project from four years ago.Instead it maintains the links to older Ps projects which sometimes don't even correspond to initial project anymore.  Am I missing something, or would I have to manually replace all linked layer files in AE, with ones that are actually in the project?

Using a wiggle expression to a film jitter effect, eg wiggle(12,7) Is there a way to make the wiggle effect use each keyframe as the "seed" of the subsequent keyframe, instead of using the center as the point of reference, and in that way making it less random? I'm looking for an effect that produces "drift" while jittering. Is this possible using a math expression, with a set minimum and maxium excursion of position?

Hello! Good day to all! So I have been working on on multiple projects now and once I'm done with my projects, I delete their After Effects Project Files afterwards. However, I just noticed this day that the Auto-Save folder actually saves my projects' auto-saves, and my old and deleted projects are still in there. And since this actually takes up space, may I ask if it's ever safe to delete the files in the Auto-Save folder? Especially the old projects in it, and since it takes up storage. Or will it ruin my files, anything or such? Thank you!

After Effects has started crashing when i type more than a few characters worth of text in a text box.  It's happening in any After Effects project I use. I tried updating after effects to the latest version (23.2.1) and that didn't help. I also tried using the 2022 version and that had the same problem.I tried "reset character" as a previous post reccomended and that seemed to help for a moment and then after a few seconds it crashed again. I've also tried:Purging disk cacheDeleting my preferences,Uninstalling and resinstalling after effects,Updating my Mac OS to the latest version of MonterayHaving creative cloud open or closed while AE is open.Turning the computer off and on again. I'm on Mac OS Monteray 12.6.3Mac studio Apple M1 Max64gb ramI'm doing projections for a theatre show that uses lots of text. I am editing a video in after effects and my timeline refuses to render. It is a raw video, no effects,  on any clip, I have a 120gb of ram, a 3090 gpu, an i7-1200k, no other app are open (except for Spotify and one google chrome tab), it is at a quarter rez,I delete the cache every hour and it still previews at 2 frames a second, even after I let the green slider go beyond where im previewing in the clip. Please help!

Hello!I've been using bodymovin to render animation as HTML5 and although so far it has worked well, on one animation that has a simple wave warp effect I've noticed that it has not rendered this specific setting. Even if I select 'advanced export settings>include non supported properties' when rendering it does not seem to work. Does anybody have an idea of why it does this? Are there specific effects which are not supported on bodymovin??PS: BTW I've been rendering animations as simple demo HTML5.Please let me know!

Hello!I'm a relatively new Adobe user and I'm just starting to learn with AE, however I've been editing on other programs for awhile now. Today I got a new 2024 Macbook Pro and I tried to open AE but it sent me this message. (See Attachment)At first I had thought that it was because I still had AE 2024 but I just downloaded 2025 and it still says this. I saw there was an update in what systems could run AE but seeing as mine is new I'm confused how it couldn't run it.Anyone run into a similar thing? Thanks!

I’m working on a creative project for a client (https://emiratesappliances.com/), where I’ve been given a set of product clips to stitch together into a compelling visual story. The concept involves imagining a rare appliance malfunction that would make the video curious and thought-provoking. Here’s the problem I’m facing: I’ve applied motion blur effects in After Effects to simulate a chaotic moment where an appliance malfunctions, but I keep encountering a weird artifact issue. The blur seems to generate ghost-like frames that don’t sync properly, causing a jittery look in the rendered output. I’ve tried adjusting the shutter angle, sample rates, and pre-composing the layers, but nothing seems to work. This issue not only affects the quality of the story but also makes the scene less believable. Has anyone faced a similar problem or knows how to resolve it? Would appreciate any tips to ensure the motion blur effect runs smoothly! 

Getting this error, every time there's some text layer.A new fresh project, new composition, add 1 layer of text, type 3 letters, and boom!!! Error.It's frustrating, I've got to do a kinetic type project. This occurs in AE 18.4.1 and 21.1.1 iMacPro/10core/64GB/Vega64/ AE 21.1.1

Is it possible to distribute videos created with the personal version of After Effects as paid content?

But no they are not. There is absolutely no missing footage in my comp but for some reason it refuses to render anyway. I haven't found anything else so somehow I suppose this is a unique problem. The render freezes and will not finish despite this being a false claim made by the program. And yes, it previews fine so there's no effects hindering it

I've been working on this for hours, was able to view every single layer, used the puppet tool/keyframes on multiple layers, previewed the composition, etc. Then it suddenly decided to go completely invisible. When I click a layer I see the white boxes of where it is, but not the actual image. When I try to preview it says it can't get 2 cached images. I can click the layers in the "project" section and it shows the small image of it, but won't show on the primary viewer. I have tried purging the memory/cache, restarting the program, restarting my computer, don't have any GPU updates, none of it works. I've tried checking/rechecking every box in the preview section,  tried checking/unchecking "preserve framerate/resolution" in comp setting. There is no audio in this file, only images, but I still tried right clicking and unchecking the "audio" selection for preview. I can open the orignal PSD file (as if I'm starting it over) and it shows the iamges, but it doesn't show

I need to download AE 2023.3. But Cloud CC can only be downloaded for the minimum version of 2024

I have added cinema 4d previously but I had to delete it from applications because of lack of storage. I need to get it again but when I go to the app it says that its already been added since I have technically already done so. I dont think its registered that it's been deleted? Or something like that. Does anyone know how else I can add it again? 

I have a GIF I made on after effects, but it doesn't loop well and you can see where it cuts to then replay again, is there any way I can make it so this is seamless so you can barely tell it's cutting? Need the GIF to be below 10Mb aswell.

Hi, Apologies for not getting the terminology correct here.  I have a short looping clip of some Christmass Holly.  The centre of the image is black, and I would like to make the black be transparent and export that to use in a media server on top of another layer. Exporting isn't a problem, I'm just not sure how best to make the balck transparent.  I have been experimenting with Set Matte, and Alpha From Lightness.  This works to a degree but is also makling my green holly transparrent.  Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!
