After Effects

Hi All, I am trying to open Cinema 4d project in After Effects 25.2.2. In my creative cloud is says the add-on Cinema 4D by Maxon is added, I have also created an account through Maxon's official website, but when I try to create a new Maxon Cinema 4D file from After Effects it says the following error message:After Effects error: Code (A_Err_GENERIC): Cinema 4D 2025 must be installed in order to use "Cineware by Maxon". To install from the Creative Cloud app go to After effects, choose the "..." button next to "Open" and select 'Add-ons'. (0::1) Any idea what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance

 like you can see in this screenshot, i allowed AE to use 16gb out of the 32 i have but it uses more than that,Furthermore, even when i go to edit clear memory and disk cache, there's nothing to clear as i havent launched a preview, i've only just opened my comp in AE and havent started a preview (i also have disabled "cache frames when idle").what's going on?Also my CPU keeps getting used at around 10%, still while doing nothing at all not a preview nothing.

Hey guys, can somebody help me, with my situation?When i add some mp4 or just audio file and open audio waveform , after effects starts lagging when i scrolling between layers, feels like ae workin in 5 fps, and later i tried to open ae in small window, around  10% of my monitor and there was less lags.win11, 64ram, ae on ssd   Title edited by Mod.

the beta version is working it the only 1 spec version which is crashing pls help me 

The short answer is YOU CAN'T...with the Render Button...The actual answer is you must use Queue In ADOBE MEDIA ENCODER to export HDR content.I am so frustrated i have been testing and racking my brain trying to adjust colorspace and settings in AFX and no matter what i do all files i export have rec 709 colorspace.If you google "after effects export hdr" the results are a bunch of old posts of people trying to figure out how to get hdr from afx.In your after effects online help guide in the color section it talks all about color spaces and never mentions you need to use AME to export.In your help guide render and export settings section there is no mention at all of HDR or needing to use AME to export HDR.I just happened to stumble across some 5 minute video on youtube and caught the 5 second section where he says "you must use AME to export HDR in after effects"Thankfully i found that or i would still be going crazy trying to figure it out.Why don't you communicate this to the user?I

I was using AE when it suddenly stopped responding. I tried uninstalling reinstalling, updating my drivers, and I can access other creative cloud apps. I have the most recent version of the app and everything. Pls help.

Experiencing some serious UI performance issues after updated to 25.1 this morning. Reverting back to 25.0.1 seems to work fine. I am using the slider tool to blur a set of numbers up from 0 to 2.9. Initially, I had the issue that the numbers entered had four decimal places  (ex. 2.1253 ) I only needed one decimal place. I found this expression to round up.Math.round(effect("Slider Control")("Slider"))Unfortunatey, this shows no decimal places and I need to just show one decimal place but cannot find an expression online that is word for word the expression I need.Basically I need to go to the tenth decimal place. so from 0 to 2.9, does anyone know the exact expression for this?

I have a 3D scan (human figure) OBJ file, and I have uploaded to AE/4D cinema to edit out backgrounds bits.  I want to save as an OBJ so I can upload to Mixamo. I cannot see how to do this. 

Hello.I have a short film teaser I want to film, and in one of the scenes, a girl speaks directly to the camera while images appear on wall right beside her, as if coming from a movie projector.What techniques do I use to achieve this effect, being sort of a beginner in After Effects (who is willing to learn much more)?I've tried looking for an answer for my specific question and I couldn't find it. I'm getting a warning when launching AE regarding MediaCore.  It's asking me to reinstall the following two plugins... NotchLCPremierePlugin.bundleNotchLCAfterEffectsPlugin.bundle After closing that window, another error message appears stating "Couldn't find main entry point for NotchLCAfterEffectsPlugin.bundle ( 48 :: 72 )".  I uninstalled/reinstalled AE, but this didn't fix the issue.  A month ago I tried to install an old copy of Film Impact plugins for PPro, but my old copy no longer works so I had to remove that.  I feel that might have caused this issue.  I'm not sure how to go about reinstalling these MediaCore plugins.  If anyone has any ideas I would really apreciate it.  Thank you!  Pics attached for reference.

Using the most up to date version of After effects. Anytime I go to use the Brush tool, and Paint in my Selected layer, and Making sure I double click It and everything  The Brush seems to leave much lag behind my pen and leaves very inconsistent and buggy straight strokes, when trying to attempt to make smooth curves. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks  

Is there any freaking way in AE to bring in footage (multichannel EXRs) with alpha, then IGNORE the alpha for compositing purposes? I've been looking for this solution for years. I want to be able to bring in my footage ONCE, then composite WITHOUT ALPHA, but still have the alpha available for final stenciling. This just does not seem possible in AE. When extracting channels from the EXRs with the Extractor effect there is an "unmult" checkbox, but it does not remove the alpha. Presumably it unmults the edge pixels with the import color that's set in the interpret footage menu. But, even with this unchecked, comps STILL result in unwanted alpha stacking on edge pixels. So, the ONLY solution I've come up with is to import all my sequences twice, once with alpha ignored (for comping) and once with it premultiplied. The second one is only used as an alpha stencil where appropriate in my comp flow. This is incredibly hacky and inconvenient, especially when dealing with

Hi there! To make it short, the Adobe contact center has remoted my machine for 2 days and has applied all possible solutions and workaround to resolve the said issue but no luck! and after a couple of trials, they asked me to create a new local account on my windows 11 OS .. and the issue was resolved with that new account! the question is how to fix the problem on my account without creating new windows local account? NOTE: I am sure the problem is from my windows profile but not sure where!  My PC information:GPU: NVIDIA Quadro M5000 |  Driver Version 31.0.15.3141 | Driver date: 3/16/2023RAM: 128 GBAfter Effect Version: 23.3.0 ( Build 53 )  Thank you 

Problem: I attempted to open an older project, using Element 3d, in AE 2025 and got an error message that the plugin was "Missing".  Solution: First make sure you have the plugin installed. Do a reinstall with latest version if necessary.Then create a new project and IMPORT the older project. That's it. Worked for me.  Hope this helps someone out there.

When I press play in my timeline, it plays only the rendered part and starts looping it. This has never happened before so I have no idea why is this happening.Also, when I leave the playhead and don't play the video at all, it doesn't render... Normally it would render when inactive...Can anyone help me?

Is there a way to get rid of this weird halo that appears when I use Lens Blur Filter with a Depth Map?The sharp areas should be in focus at the edges, but they show a strange halo, like if I'm using a fog lens.Even if the Z map has a good contrast between dark an white areas, the halo appears at the edges as if the subject was out if focus.

I am getting this error with multiframe rendering enabled. Renders fine with multiframe disabled. Never has happened to me prior to 25.2.2.    I'm on Windows 11 (24H2)Nvidia 3080ti (latest studio driver 572.83)Intel i9-12900K

Hey! I was working on a project and used two shape layers with gaussian blur to serve as lights on my composition. When they're 2D, it works normally, but once I enable 3D mode they turn really Dark. I'm using Classic 3D renderer and none of the layers have any blending mode enabled. I also tried to deactivate the "Accept Lights/Accept Shadows" option, but it didn't work either.Can you help me? I'm attaching pictures of how the layers look like before enabling the 3D mode and after. 

After efects craching during work how can i solve that issue 

I was trying to animate a Google earth studio map with city names with shadows on it. Thus I discovered that After Effects 24.6.1 doesn't have cast shadows if the renderer is Advanced 3D. Am I wrong with the settings somewhere or in the Advanced 3D shadows are not cast at all?See an example in the video. Only the classic 3D works. And the Classic 3D would have been fine but for it missing extrusions for layers, which I need and only the Advanced 3D does them
