I have a muppet style character whos head is like a ball split in half. Lower half is chin, upper half is head.I want the upper half (head) to move up and down in response to the audio track of dialogue to look like its talking. I can get the head reacting using expressions but the movements are small and the position gets skewed. How can i adjust the height and position of the head talking? I'm an AE newbie learning off tutorials so any help is appreciated.
Is there any hot key to snap anchor point of a shape to the center of the shap? video also attached.
If anyone could help out with this problem, I would be most grateful.I started learning After Effects at the beginning of this year and apart from a few glitches, I am really enjoying the course.Except that AE will sometimes refuse to allow me to change my font.As soon as I click on the drop down menu from the Character panel, a pop warning appears. After Effects: Unspecified drawing error.I need to click on the OK button at least 4 or 5 times to get rid of the pop up because it keeps reappearing as soon as I click on the OK button.Very frustrating!I have found that AE is slightly more compliant when I open the program as the administrator. Can someone help me out with this problem?
Upon creating a LottieFile it doesn't look aynything like my comp. I only have Nulls, Shape layers and Shape layers with masks in my comp. There's also a Wiggle expression active. I'm not expierenced enough with AE to understand the issue, let alone the solution.
Hello Hello Every one I am using Rotobrush 3.0 in order to remove background from my video clip.I have an audio video clip of 30 seconds where i stand up form my bed and roam around in a room by facing front camera of phone saying something on a topic.I have to apply rotobrush frame by frame in order to remove background. I tried to split it into 2 second video clip each. then start the process of roto brush in order to remove background. still it doesn't auto propagate properly and then i have to manually enter the exclusion of removing background frame by frame.BrVikas
At the current state of After Effects, the Properties Panel feels very slow to scroll compared to others like the Project Panel or the Effects Control Panel. The scrolling bar at the right side of the Properties Panel is also smaller compared to the others. It would be great if navigating through this panel felt the same way as the others.
The color picker functionality has changed and I have to physcially hit ok with the mouse, otherwise it activates the picker again and I lose my color when I click. I've done this dozens of times already! Please bring back "Enter" to select the color.

So I'm really confused and getting quite annoyed right now. I'm currently working on a project for which I have linked some video files from Premiere to an After Effects composition. Without changing anything in my folders Premiere now tells me that a big part of my After Effects compositions are offline. When I go to After Effects and open the Project all the compositions are still there but After Effects keeps telling me: After Effects error: strange situation (0/1026621440) Because of this window that keeps popping up I cant edit or click anything on After effects and have to close it with the Task Manager... Can anybody solve this problem? Thanks!
I have been having issues with some MP4 files in After Effects. However, the same files work absolutely fine in Premiere Pro. I am using the latest version of After Effects, 25.1.0 on a Mac Studio Ultra M2 with 128 gigs of RAM and OS Sonoma 14.7.3.There is a huge inconsistency. Also, After Effects still crashes after I process the culprit files through Media Encoder or directly through Premiere. It also crashes in Safe Mode as well as after I blow away preferences. I am grading my students' projects and will upload one of the files that keeps crashing After Effects. I have many other examples of files that cause crashes as well as many examples of files that don't. I have been using After Effects since 1995 and have been able to troubleshoot about every technical issue I have encountered. I may have met my match with this one. But I hope someone has a solution.
I got a new computer and i replaced the support files folder and got my plugins for after effects, and also same with extensions but my ae doesnt seem to have my workspaces, changed theme color etc saved, what else do i need to replace to completely back it up?
I hope you are all doing well.I'm reaching out to share that I’ve completed the development of the Voice Animator Pro tool. Everything is working smoothly, except for one remaining issue that I haven’t been able to resolve. The microphone functionality and speech recognition within the After Effects CEP panel aren’t working as expected. From what I’ve gathered, enabling mic access inside the AE environment is not as straightforward as it seems, and I’m unsure how to properly support it within the current panel setup.I’d really appreciate it if you could take a look and help me solve this problem.Looking forward to your guidance.
It doesnt work at all 9/10 times, and when it does start working it goes away after a few minutes.
I've given Adobe thousands of dollars, and now I want to make a slideshow. I import the 200 jpgs and then chosse to layer them with a 20 frame dissolve. Apparently this is far beyond the capabilities of Adobe products as I get a hundred "overflow converting ratio numbers" error messages. Can I get my money back?
Got my computer from repair, fresh install of after effects, no pluginsNow I can't work with it as it keeps crashing constantly.
I use After Effects 2021 (Mac) and every time I open it these pop up. I've tried searching to no avail.
I am graphic designer & photographer, now i want to learn after effects professionally for video editing, animation, motion graphics. What could be right way for this please? Can anyone help me on this please?
When i render my composition it drasticaly changes the timings of my composition, even after i go back and move assets to match the times it will only work for a little while. as soon as i change any other part of the comp it moves everything way out of place when i render it next, even the stuff i had previously moved back into position and not touched since. not sure if this is a bug or something up with my render settings. any help would be greatly appreciated. The setting I am using currently are attached below.
Using After Effect this morning trying to get something out asap and I double click on the comp that I want to edit and it won't open. I've restarded the whole computer etc and then created a new comp and the new comps won't open either.
Title: Bug: loopOut("cycle",n) and loopIn("cycle",n) on Scale Cause Infinite Looping and Faster Animation in After Effects 25.2 Body: Hi everyone, I'm encountering a strange issue with the loopOut("cycle",n) and loopIn("cycle",n) expressions applied to the Scale property in After Effects 25.2. Instead of looping the specified number of cycles, the animation loops infinitely, and the animation speed increases unexpectedly when the cycle count is increased. This behavior seems like a bug, as it doesn't align with the documented functionality of these expressions. Details of the Issue Goal: I want to animate a layer's Scale property with keyframes from frame 0 to 25, looping 5 times until frame 150 (5 seconds at 30 fps), then holding the Scale value at frame 25 until frame 180 (6 seconds). Problem: Using loopOut("cycle",2) (expected: 3 cycles = 75 frames): The Scale animation loops infinitely instead of stopping after 3 cycles. The animation feels faster than expected, appearing
Hello,I get problem My preview is always blackI've tried almost every method I've searched but they are doesn't work.AE Version:25.2.2GPU : rtx4070CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-14600KFRam :32 Windows11 64bit In addition, I can't see the GPU information in Preferences->Preview, but in the project settings,I can set to use CUDA, the gpu also seems to be running normally. My Gpu driver version is NVDIA Sutdio Driver 576.02 Thanks
I’m currently having a strange issue in After Effects: whenever I save my own animation presets, it only seems to store the rotation – position, scale, or other transform properties just don’t make it in. No matter what I try, only the rotation axis gets saved. What’s even weirder is that this doesn’t just happen with my own presets. Even when I use presets made by others that are supposed to include both position and rotation, only the rotation works. I’ve tried applying them to different null layers, and it’s always the same: the rotation applies, but the position gets completely ignored. I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if this is a bug, but it’s pretty frustrating, since it really limits how useful presets can be
I tried to delete all fonts from Adobe Fonts and others but the BIB Error still comes back to my device. How can i fix this function please?
Ss there a way to expand the "boundaries" of a 3d layer?I want the text to spiral over the image but want it to be behind certain parts of the image like the briefcase, right arm, etc. I've tried adjusting the scale, rotation, everything but nothing seems to work. Both the text and image layers are 3d layers.
