After Effects

Slide in From Comp Edge Effect has a glitch. It does not allow to change the direction of reveal. I nthe menu of effects you can choose the direction: Left, Right, Top, Bottom. But the text animates in only from bottom. The change of option does not make any difference. 

Hey, have tried Googling and searching Reddit and Adobe Community, but can't find anything relevant. Was following a project tutorial, and in the video, the creator sets an inner shadow size to 450, however mine caps at just 250. Only thing I could think of trying was a slider control, but while I can set the slider above the cap, the effect still gets capped. Anyone know why the value is capped for me, why its uncapped (or has a different cap) for him or how to change/override it? Thanks!

Does anyone know how to create a keyable (vector?) motion waveform for use in Adobe Premiere? I was wondering if there is a template. I'd like it to be the actual wave form of the audio recording that's playing under it. Basically, I'm trying to create a video where I layer the moving waveform on top of an image as it moves to the audio we're hearing.  Thanks for your help on this!

Hello, I am just learning ADOBE and tried to try to repeat some sticker effects from LOTTI, what do I need to do to make the effect display correctly? download some additional plugins? I am using the latest version of adobe

Good morning AE Support community, So yesterday I updated my AE App and before that AE worked smoothly and perfectly and after it was slow and laggy so I shut down my computer for the rest of the night and when I woke up it was fine for a mintue but then it gave me an error saying that  "After Effects warning: Cant use the Roto Brush tool because the "Paint" effect plugin is missing. You may need to reinstall."So now its back to being slow and laggy as a sloth and I think its because of the Retro Brush Tool and I need to use for a school assignment and it was working really well before the update so I would really like to fix this Immediately so I can get this assignment done as well as my other assingments that I have for this semester so ANY solutions that ANYONE has for this issue would be great and PLEASE share them with me immediately Thank you so much in advance,-VeVeGirl

If I install a font from Adobe Fonts or CC. I cannot get them to work in AE unless i restart AE. I have had success now and then hitting `refresh list` on the `Effects & Presets` panel. Alas most times that doesn't work. I do not have this problem with other Adobe Cloud Products like Illustrator, etc.It's really annoying. Especially when i am opening old projects/resources 

Hi guys!I found I can only have one OpenGL plugin initialized in an AE instance, if I have two different plugins which is based on AE GL SDK, I can only add the very first on a layer, if I attend to add another one, AE will showup plugin initialization error.

I have uninstalled Adobe completely. Now all that remains is the spyware in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe that I can't delete because it is constantly running. Someone, please help me delete this spyware ASAP.

Hi all, I have been trying to solve this issue for days now and I cannot find ANY soultion no matter where I look. I am trying to empty the disk cache on After Effects, however the option is totally greyed out. I cannot click it, and when I try to clear it manually it has no effect. I have verified that it's the correct folder, as it's the one that's displayed in the disk cache preferences. I've tried everything and I am incredibly frustrated, as this affecting the storage on my computer as a whole, not just AE. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,So I have three shapes, all have there anchor point set in the same position, I have aligned them perfectly. But when I paste path from one shape to another the whole path shifts down a bit. I dnt want it. I want it to be exactly like in the same position before the paste action took place. I need guidance. why does it happen. Please help.

After installing and uninstalling the deekay tool, limber 2 only shows this error, unable to execute script at line 1: does not have a value. What can I do? I tried reinstalling limber 2 but it didn't work.

I used a free text script and it generates these labels on the layers (I have highlighted in example below) I'm not sure how to remove the lables from the layer, so could someone please help me on how to do that please?

Hi,I'm writing an ExtendScript script, where I change text inside of nested compositions.The nesting looks like this (the green arrows show the nesting):So I've got composition "01_CONSULTING_A" which contains composition "EDIT STATEMENT 1" which contains composition "EDIT TEXT Statement 1" which then contains a text layer. In my script I edit that text layer to another language, which of course also changes the length of the text and thus the width/height of the text box.In "EDIT STATEMENT 1" there's another composition called "POSITION Arrow". Here I have to change the position so that it lines up with the end of the new text. Here's the problem: I don't seem to be able to get the correct X and Y coordinates of that text layer inside of the "EDIT STATEMENT 1" composition so that I can use those coordinates to position the arrow. I already found out that I apparently have to get the relative position of the layer in the "outer" composition. But I don't even seem to be able to get the

I'm very new to After Effects, but I'm hitting the ground running with a big project.  Goal: I want an animated pill bottle to rock/rotate up and down,  as pills and coffins fall out of the bottle, landing at the bottom of the screen in their own unique places.  Images I'm Using:  - Back of the Pill Bottle- Front of the pill bottle (Partially transparent so we can see the pills behind it)- Multiple images of pills- Multiple images of tiny coffins I can make the pills come out of the bottle looking naturally by placing the pill & coffin images between the back of the pill bottle and the partially transparent front of the pill bottle. The only way I've been able to get all the images to rock up and down in unison is by parenting everything to the Front of the pill bottle image. However, by the time the bottle needs to rock back up to shake out more pills/coffins, any pill/coffin that has already begun moving toward the floor, begins to rot

Swap textures on 3D models for animated precomps, with only a tiny element of Blender needed.   In this tutorial, I build on the technique I demonstrated in "Animate color changes of 3D Objects in After Effects" ( https://youtu.be/r1e9kYNXgxU ) to create a 3D Luma Matte copy of a mesh / model. By setting all the textures to be black except for the screen, it's possible to use this as a track matte within After Effects. Unfortunately you cannot apply mattes directly to 3D layers, but with a little extra set up, you can create a precomp to drive this. All you need to do is link the camera from one comp to another.   I break down all the steps, from importing your model Blender to editing the materials in the Shading area's node editor, then bringing these models in After Effects and linking them to a null object. Once that's done, we create a precomp for the screen, position it correctly and finally look to apply the luma matte using the Set Matte effect and a Glow effect for

I've been working with ExtendScript Toolkit CC and up until today my calls to system.callSystem() were working fine. I've changed nothing, but suddenly today these calls (and any other calls to System object methods) are failing with 'System is Undefined' errors. I'm on latest MacOS, and CC 2017. Any ideas? Thanks.
