After Effects

When I hit play, it starts playing after 2 seconds or so when I use the Studio Display XDR speakers. If I change the speakers to MacBook Pro speakers or my audio interface, the latency goes away.

Dear all,I am hyper-new to After Effects but I could not refuse this job as it is for a friend so I need to learn this and just do it! I have gone through all of the ‘Learn’ in-app tutorials but, regardless, I am stuck. The project is about animating music notation transformation over a musical score. The process is therefore something like this:prepare the notation file in the music notation program export it in SVG (or PDF, but I prefer to work in SVG, unless you think PDF is better for this) import SVG in Illustrator (Ai), adjust the colours and layers (every object that needs to be moved on its own layer as instructed). animate in After Effects (Ae)Now, since the Ae canvas is in 1920x1080, I’ve created an Ai document with an dartboard of the same size and imported the SVG in it. I manipulated it as needed, then saved it as an .ai file. In Ae, I’ve created a new project, then pressed Cmd-I to import, selected the .ai file and, from the dropdown, changed the type to ‘Composition - Re

Whenever I click the dropdown to change the font for text, it glitches, won't let me, and says that error, "After Effects warning: cannot create font [insert font]" (a few different fonts have been cited). I'm by no means talented with this software, I'm a Premiere woman, but I've tried all the basics. Trash preferences, clear cache, new project, restart AE, restart computer, etc. Is anyone familiar with this error?

I undocked the Lumetri window because I wanted to drag it to the right side of the screen (it appeared on the left). I positioned it where I wanted, but as you can see, the window doesn't have a "dock window" option, so now I still have a separate window.

the problem started with me changing the all the files from C: drive to another drive, not only did it lost its application logo, but also frequently crashes when trying to mask, the masking feature only has box select and not auto or custom part select, is this problem beacause i moved the file from the C: drive to E: drive, both the drives are of the same nvme and are only seperate beacuse of partation, so why does it glitched so much

I use AE on a few different client machines as well as my own. On ONLY one of those client machines,  every time I use “Increment and Save” the new file drops the leading zeros in the version number.For example MyProject_v001.aep increments to MyProject_v2If I “SaveAs” MyProject_v002 and repeat “Increment and Save” the new project is MyProject_v2.All of these machines are on Version 26.3.0. My first thought was there’s a new setting (since it’s never done this in 20 years of using AE). I checked nothing I could see.Any ideas? Not critical but frustrating.Thank you

I am editing a personal project where some of my source clips are Instagram videos I saved from my own account using a downloader tool called Snapinsta.ink, and when I bring them into After Effects the quality drops compared to how they looked on Instagram, especially in fast motion parts where compression artifacts show up. My footage is mostly 1080p mp4 going into a 1080p 30fps composition, and I wanted to ask if there are better import or interpret footage settings for handling compressed social media clips, whether changing field order helps, and if there is a safe way to sharpen or color correct this kind of footage without making it look overprocessed. Would appreciate any tips on the right workflow for prepping social media sourced clips before editing.

I try to open AE but 2 things happen:1. GPUSniffer.exe brings up an error.2. When renaming GPUSniffer.exe so it bypasses it, the startup screen gets stuck on "initializing MediaCore" Here is a screenshot of what my Task Manager shows:8 instances of GPUSniffer.exe openPC Specs:CPU: AMD 7950X3DGPU: AMD RX 9070 XT I have tried everything possible. I searched the forums and even used Claude for troubleshooting but nothing works.EXTRA INFO: If it makes any difference, this started while I had AE open and went away from the PC, and it entered sleep mode (not total sleep, just the screens and lights turning off)

I am tired , After Effects does not use my GPUFew Months Ago everything was working fine in after effects , it was using my gpu and performance was very good but all of a sudden one day it stopped using my gpu and renders that used to complete in 15 mins are now taking 5 -4 hours and sometimes crashing in between , i have literally tried every possible fix on the internet . disabled integrated gpu, updated drivers , set up graphics setting for highest performance nothing is working , please help , it was working few months ago , now i dont know what happened .

What does work though is playing/previewing the animation. But the second I stop the preview it goes blank again and I can’t edit anything. When I mean anything I mean everything I try to import. I’ve tried editing a plethora of Preference settings, Image settings, trying new images to import, image settings, composition settings, I’ve tried downgrading my AE, I’ve also tried downgrading and switching my drivers to studio drivers but nothing changes.

Whenever I interact with any part of After Effects—such as opening the Window menu, stopping the preview, starting the preview, selecting a composition, clicking a layer, or even deselecting one—the application briefly freezes, and my Mac cursor changes to the spinning loading (wait) indicator before responding. This delay occurs consistently with nearly every click or action, making the interface feel unresponsive and sluggish.Additionally, I have a third-party plug-in, FX Console, and whenever I use my assigned shortcut keys to open its search bar, After Effects freezes momentarily, shows the loading cursor, and then nothing appears—the FX Console panel fails to open altogether.

I doubt this will get a response but ive been on youtube and i havent found a good aura.  below willl be what i created vs what i wanted.. if someone can help me understand how i can create the goku black aura 1 for 1 image wanted to create ( js want spikey vers) vs what i didofc ik its not the bets but i do want to understand how i can create it

I'm trying to export my project and it has a couple of bcc effects ( bcc ripple and bcc rain ) and it is not working. whenever i export, the video does not show the effect at all. i have tried exporting it as animation. i have turned off multi frame rendering. i have switched to mercury software only. None of it has worked. does anyone have any ideas on what to do? 

I’m a new adobe user, I am trying use the Roto tool in AE to select the star in the middle.I must’ve hit some button because now the Roto Brush & Refine Edge is no longer available in layer view options. It now selects the whole image instead.No roto tool variations work. I’m just trying to select the damn star for a project man :(Please try to assist me! (These are the settings)

I am migrating to a newer version of Adobe After Effects on my MAC (17.0.6 build 35 to 24.6.1). I want to backup /migrate ALL Settings, Presets, workspaces, keyboard shortcuts, plugins, templates, scripts etc.  I found this tutorial that mentions one folder location to copy files over to new version but want to make sure I am not missing anything else that I should migrate over. New to AfterEffects and want to make sure the migration is successful. Here’s the steps I found: Step 1: back up scripts, presets, settings, keyboard shortcuts, workspaces. Hi,I have been going crazy looking for a solution to how to solve the 'blank frame' glitch when creating a looping composition using the loopOut() expression.I tried the current/previous solutions which involved adding a keyframe on the penultimate frame or manually setting the final keyframe value -1 frame. These worked, but I was still getting a visible animation glitch happening.My final solution, for a perfect loop with zero visible glitches or blank frames, was to open the pre-comp layer (the original composition that you're trying to loop) and for every layer that reaches the final frame, drag it beyond the end. These layers may appear to run to the very end of the comp and appear as though they reach the final frame, but manually dragging the end of the layer 'off' to the right of the comp was what was needed for that final 'missing' frame to show in the precomp loop.So, starting with a Time Wrapping comp that is showing a blank frame:1. After the update to ver 26.0.0 any log clip that is imported into After Effects is not showing as log. There is a LUT applied to the clip, but I can’t turn the LUT off, or see what conversion LUT is even being applied or adjust it at all. Very confusing. 

 after effect 가 실행되지 않습니다. 처음 구독후 사용하기 위해 프로그램을 설치해보았으나,  위와 같은 경고창이 떴고, info 를 눌러 intel의 gpu 최신 드라이버 프로그램을 설치하고 업데이트 했습니다, 그 이후에 after effect를 실행시켜 보니 아래와 같은 경고문이 지속적으로 뜨며 실행 문제가 해결되지 않습니다.        gpu드라이버 문제라고 하는데, 사실 가장 최근 버전으로 업데이트 했는데 이렇게 문제가 지속적으로 발생합니다. 이를 해결하기 위해 어떻게 해야 합니까?  

Photo 1Hi,I created an animation using a Pen Tool (used the mask). After I made the animation, I noticed that, firstly, when creating a mask with Pen Tool, the mask options (Subtract, intersect, etc.) are not displayed; they are displayed only when, as you can see in the picture, the dots are closed. Secondly, when I tried to return the previous standard settings, or rather this checkbox, the dots closed.Unfortunately, I don't understand how to deal with this problem and I would be grateful if you could tell me how to return the check mark.Thank you!😊

I too was facing this issue and wanted to share a solution I found that was much simpler than other threads I’d read. I noticed that when the distance between keyframes was more than the number copies I was making the copies value would add a decimal place, which affected the opacity of the copy. So, under Copies I added a “Math.round()” expression making the value stay whole numbers and now I can move the keyframes around and it doesn’t affect the opacity of the copies animating on at all.  I hope this helps!   

Help!! I edited an Illustrator file linked in my animation to add a new element and now ae has apparently duplicated a layer. The original illustrator file doesn’t have a layer there so it seems to be a bug from ae. Is it fixable?Not a preview error because I keep seeing it after rendering.I am using the newest versions of both programs tooIllustrator versionAfter effects version (white box over the illustration)
