After Effects

Hi everyone. I have been having extensive visual glitch issues with the Red Giant VFX Shadow and Primatte plugins in After Effects. The basic outline of the issues is using the Shadow & Primatte plugins causes graphic glitches that show up in both the working file and rendered files. This makes them unusable, and I am unable to properly see what I am working on. Here's a video clip showcasing the glitches.  Happens for any new file I make also. Current version of AE is the latest one 23.1. My GPU is an Nvidia RTX A4000 card. Up until now I've been able to do broad strokes in terms of editing, but because these issues show up in the actual renders themselves it means I have to fix them asap. I'm quite frustrated at this point after trying to find a fix for quite a number of weeks now with no results. I've been emailing Maxon Support extensively over the past several weeks but we are yet to find a fix for these issues. Whenever I press the space bar and playback my video it turns out all choppy and laggy. I use After Effects CC 2018, on a Mac Book Pro. I know it is not trying to render the effects because from the moment I import it into a composition it's laggy. I edit for fun so I don't know much about my computer and about my settings on AE. I've looked up many videos and forums but none of them showed my problem. If someone could just help me that'd be awesome.Thanks.

Hello! I have been given a Prores 444 file with the image characteristics. HDR10 with ITU-R BT.2020If I import it into AE (16-bit project) the color profile assigned to it is: REC. 2100 PQ (and it won't let me change it)And it looks washed out and grainy in the viewfinder.If I change the viewfinder color space to ITU-R BT.2020 the highlights burn out.Either of those two options rendered in Encoder do not give a good result.How can I get a render respecting the HDR and the original color?Thank you very much!

I am having this annoying problem where everytime I save a file and create a new folder in the save as dialog after effects crashes.unistalled all plugins, I run adode cc cleaner deleting everything. what I can dothis thing is  annoying please help

Hello, I have some problems that I don't understand how I can solve, now I will describe to you the essence of the problem and attach a screenshot.I want to animate the character's clothes to move as a whole with the AutoSway plugin, but I can not achieve this effect.I've divided the clothes and the character into three layers, the back clothes, the character and the front clothes, usually I don't bother with the back clothes, but this time I got the idea to do it right and to keep the back clothes within the front clothes, before I just applied puppets to the back of the clothes, applied the effect, and did the same with the front.I ended up trying to solve the problem through the Null Object by attaching everything to it, but as I realized autosway doesn't quite work with the Null Object or just the Puppet itself doesn't work with it.Bottom line, can you please tell me how I can solve this?I have attached a screenshot, as well as a video of how it worked before (i.e. separate use of

Hi!I'm having an issue importing an PSD file to AE. It just freeze my AE and nothing happen. My rainbow wheel just spins forever, so my only option is to force quit the app at the manager. I've tried it in two projects with no sucess.

After the last update yesterday, 03.12.2024, After Effects started to work drastically slower. When I try to do something in the program, it's almost unmanageable how slow it works, while yesterday before the update it worked normally. I'm wondering if I'm the only one having this problem. At the moment, I restarted the whole system on windows, bought a new SSD and tried various ways, but it still works too slowly.

I started with a video about 2 hours, then trimmed it down to 1 second by using B and N key, then trim comp to work area.Even the composition settings show the duration to be 0;00;01;05I did some masking and content aware fill.Then when I send it to render queue, it tries to render 2 hours of video. Why? There is only 1 second of video in the comp.This is version 25.0.1 

i, Im having trouble exporting and rendering with transparency, I did it as I always do, with QuickTime in Animation RGB+Alpha, but it's not working, i've tried AppleRes4444 i've tried GoPro12 +Alpha, nothing works!When I try to open it with VLC it either doesnt show or the colors are completely glitched and off, when i send it to iphone it doesnt open the file.Can someone help with this? This is how it looks when i see it in VLC, but It doesnt open in Iphone Quicktime

Im having this crashes. It is happening everytime i am rendering. I tried disabling the multi rendering, tried the disabling the cuda, starting in safe mode but no luck at all. I cant render anything in both media encoder and after effects itself. Out of frustration i left the after effects unattended but it crashes without me doing anything. I downgraded to windows 10 thinking it was not compatible with windows 11 but having the same issues on both windows. I tried installing and reinstalling after effects even the creative cloud. Okay when i adjust the roundness option the resolution of preview will broke, does anyone know how to fix that (im using adobe after effect 2024)

i cant put drop shadow effect on text because it says theres no entry point idk what that means

Hi wonderful people,  My after effects keep crashing when opening a project. The crash Alert gives a different cause every time, so the part below the purple lines (see image) changes. I have try uninstalling AE, scripts, plugins, and fonts. I also asked my direct community and I notice more people has this issue, but no solution so far.  It occurs to me that this ONLY happens when I open a project by double clicking on the file.aep, instead of opening the program after effect first and then select File -> open project, or dragging into a new composition. However, its an habit, so i would love to have this issue resolve.  

Hi there, new to AE. Scoured the internet, but can't find any info on this at all. Hoping someone can help with this. When I go to Preview the Composition (spacebar to play/stop), as soon as I stop playing, the Layer timeline automatically zooms to max. Typically, I have it zoomed in so that I can do more finetuned work. It's a bit frustrating when you constantly have to zoom back in. Is there any way to turn this auto-zoom off? I've scoured and tested every option that I can find. I don't want it to go to max zoom every time I play a Preview. I want the zoom level to remain the same, unless I manually change it. Thanks in advance.

Well, when i did my edit in After Effects, i was editing in "Mercury Playback Engine Software Only", so when i realized that i was going to render my project with Software, i've changed my settings to "Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (CUDA)". Then my entire project has beeing colorshifting to a overexposure kinda thing.  I've tried to change NVIDIA settings and some other solutions that i've found on the Adobe Community. But nothing seems to resolve.I need some help with that because my 15 minutes render, are taking like, 2h30min.

While using Premier I used "Replace with After Effects Composition" on a text layer and every lowercase "u", specifically in the Calibri Bold font, was replaced with Times New Roman when it opened in Ae. When I highlight the letter and/or the entire box of text and try to change it back to Calibri Bold manually within After Effects it does nothing. I am able to change the letter to seemingly every other font including Calibri Regular, just not Calibri Bold, it simply does nothing.After Effects 2025 (& Premier Pro 2025)Windows 11

I am using After Effects version 25.0.1 on a system with a 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-13600K, 32GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU. However, After Effects freezes every time I try to use it. I've tried everything, but nothing seems to work. Can anyone help me fix this issue, or should I consider switching to an older version of After Effects? Is my system compatible with this version?
