I'm quite experienced with AE. I've encountered a strange bug on a AE expression. I had to use a hack to solve it. Hello After Effects community,I'm reaching out for help in creating and animating a "blurred light leak" effect that is commonly seen in modern designs. I've attempted to make this effect from scratch in After Effects, but I haven't been able to achieve the desired result. I've attached some images of the type of blurred light leaks I'm trying to replicate. I am not sure that "blurred light leak" is the good name for this effect but I have attached pictures below: Does anyone have any suggestions or tips on how I can create this effect in After Effects? Any guidance or resources would be greatly appreciated.Thank you in advance for your help!

When I explore an AE project, it always shifts part of the left side to the right. This is a problem I've never encountered before. Can anyone help me, please?

Version of the app: After Effects v23.6Platform and OS version: Macbook Pro M2 Max @ MacOS Ventura13.5.1Basic steps to reproduce the problem: Doesn't happen most of the time but there are times that it happens when I export directly to After Effects even Work Area Start is at 0:00:00:00 then exports after the 5% duration of the video. It's quite an annoying experience especially when I'm exporting a heavy project, expecting it to be a complete export and getting a video where the first part is missing.Note: I'm always checking the IN and OUT before exporting.Right now I encountered this again with a lower-third I'm exporting for my client.- 1st image: Before exporting- 2nd image: Imported the MOV to my project to double-check if everything is on point and unfortunately, it isn't.Expected result and actual result- Expected Result: Should be a complete export especially since I'm always checking the IN and OUT before exporting- Actual Result: Getting an exported project with the first pa

As mentioned in the title.Happens every time I open AE then it resets to the default workspace.Dunno what's going on and want to get this fixed esp making my preferred workspace as MY workspace. Thanks in advance! 

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone knows how to fix preview settings on AE. For example, videos that have been formatted are showing up unformatted on the preview, same with applied effects etc. Its not like this once the video is rendered but i would like to fix the preview settings so it shows the final version. It used to. I closed and re-opened and can't get it back. Ive tried clearing my cache and updating system. Please let me know! Thanks

Hi! So while i was working on a project i accidentally clicked a bcc 3d effect which usually makes my ae 2022 crash (it did). When this happens usually I'm able to open the project back up and everything works perfectly. This time however it continues to crash after every attempt to open it back up again. I uninstalled bcc but after that and restarting my laptop it didn't work. I'm starting to think maybe I should just untinstall/reinstall ae itself but im hoping someone has a solution to this. (Below is one of the messages that pops up. I think it's different every time). Also for reference I have a Macbook Pro 2019 Ventura 13.3.1 and am using After Effects 2022

Hello, Recently filmed a news pundit scene against a green screen. Just today someone helped me key out the green screen in After Effects with Key Light. It seemed to work well. I imported the comp into Premiere Pro and it worked fine on my PC at work. However, when I open the same project file on my Mac, the background is now gray and the intended background isn't showing up (see attached images below). What could be causing this? I tried playing around in both programs to no success. Thanks in advance!

Recently updated after a while... For the VERY reason things like this rear their heads.Updated to 22.6.0 and am noticing a MASSIVE performance hit.  i9, 128GB, 3080, m.2 SSDs for days.  Task monitor has CPU useage through the roof when AE is sitting in the background idling.  Whole computer is seizing up to the point where mouse and keyboard response is affected.  Have seen similar behavior on multiple well-spec'd systems with this update.  Unbelievable. 

So i stmbled upon this issue today and i have no clue how to fix it. Whenever i try to use rotobrush the add icon appears for few seconds and thenit dissapears and it tuns into regular round brush. I tried checking if i have any other buttons active or anything also updated and tried to clear the cashe and the problem still persitst. I tried checking it on files i managed to use roto before and the problem is always the same.Do you know what could be the issue or what i missed?

Everything was allright… and now I cannot read any preview without this message and stop.I have the latest CS… updated yesterday.Please help !  

Eu não consigo exportar esse tamanho de composição: 1344 x 672px, e qualquer outra composição na horizontal toda vez que vou renderizar o vídeo fica todo preto, mas quando passo para o vertical o vídeo é renderizado normal. Alguem pode me explicar o porque isso está acontecendo com esse formato? Eu reparei que o After Beta só está exportando composições na vertical, existe alguma coisa que possa fazer para me ajudar?Minha máquina tem essas configurações: 

I did find a hack that unfreezes the Analyze pass sometimes. If you notice the estimated time to complete (say two minutes) and it freezes at frame 10, wait two minutes. Then scrub the timeline back and forth quickly with the mouse or whatever way you choose. Often the freeze will clear up and the stabilization will begin. Why this works I have not the slightest idea. I added a video showing the fix working attached.

Hi,After Effects 2023 keeps crashing.I have had very little luck with AE 2023. It is the worst version if AE I have ever used.I use AE every day and I have gone through pretty much all of the iterations of AE since AE3, always excited that maybe you will fix the bugs that I know you know are there.Do you need a list?OK well AE2023 hates plugins, yeah you know that though don't you, that is why you have the new 'disable plugins' or start in 'safe mode' after a crash. Well I don't want to disable plugins because they are what I use in AE. Whenever I try to open a specific project after effects says" Opening project (Not responding)" then it just crashes. It doesn't crash if I open any other project. Everytime I press play my viedeo plays but in super speed and I dont know why. I´m a new ae editor so I dont know if this problem is my fault.

After effects 23.5 crahes continiously when start working in it.I am working on iMac Pro 3,2 GHz 8-core Intel Xeon, Radeon Pro Vega 56 8GB videocard. The driver is up to date. macOSX Ventura 13.4.1I have already uninstall and installed AE again, also previous versions.There aro no third party plugins involved. The crash even occurs when I'm start working with a blanc composition, type some text and when i try to change the font it craches. I can get an .dpm dump file wich I can't upload but I have it converted to a .pdf file.What could be the cause of these craches here?   

Hi,  I've been having this really annoying issue with Warp Stabilizer in AE, where the analysis initialises and either never makes any progress, or works gets a way through the analysis and then freezes. I don't have any errors pop up, it just stops working. I'm working on AE 23.5, on Windows 11. Using H.264 XAVC S 10 bit 4:2:2 FX3 footage.I've had this issue since before this version of AE. Has anyone encountered this problem and found a solution? Thanks

I have an issue trying to cache a timeline for playback.  When I hit space, AE begins to cache like normal.  I see the green line above the playhead begin to fill up, but after only a few frames (usually 20-30), the preview stops caching and just loops as if it's run out of memory. However, I have 128GB of RAM and in previous versions I am able to cache hundreds of 4K frames without issue.  Also, if I manually scrub the timeline, it will cache the full timeline and then play back normally. I've been able to replicate this issue on several machines.  Here are the relevant specs: Windows 10, latest updateAE 23.5.0128GB DDR 5.0 memoryDisk Cache is turned off32 GB reserved for other applicationsNVidia RTX 3080  

After the latest update, I'm unable to use After Effects because it crashes before opening even when I choose to start in safe mode.Attached is the crash report. I'm using Windows 11, and my machine configuration is also attached. Any idea on how to solve this problem?

i just bought a student's plan and i cant seem to find after effects anywhere in the creative cloud app , and when i go to the website i find it there and click download it says you will be converted to creative cloud desktop app and after effects will start download but literally nothing happens .
