After Effects

So I am at a loss here, I have no clue what to do with this program, every time I open it, It crashes after just being open for a few minutes, half the time not doing anything at all just sittign at the project window, when it does crash, all I have is simply regular video up. With Heat Distortion (I found out later I may need to reinstall this plugin so I removed it, crashes still) and Pixel Motion Blur, which I dont have that set to high, and its either crashing the program, or in worse cases, crashing the entire computer. Deleted Pixel Motion Blur, crashed still. then I realized I had Deep Glow on a comp, removed it, still crashed. I turned off Hardware Acceleration, still crashed, cleared all the caches, still crashed, I cant function in this program. Im currently on a RTX 4070 Ti Super, with the latest drivers, I shouldn't be having this many problems.

Hi everyone,I'm working on a project in After Effects CC 2017, and I've encountered a challenge that I hope you can help me with. In the first image, you can see a composition with 10 layers, each containing various effects and keyframes.In the second image, there is another composition with the same 10 layers, but without the effects and keyframes. The layers have some minor changes compared to the first image, except for the missing effects and keyframes.I need to copy all the effects and keyframes from the layers in the first composition to the corresponding layers in the second composition. I know I can do this manually, one by one, but given the number of layers and keyframes, this would be incredibly time-consuming.Is there a faster way to copy all the effects and keyframes from the layers in the first composition to the layers in the second composition? Any tips or shortcuts would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance for your help! 

Hi, I created a .mogrt template for my colleagues with text and a slider control for repositioning a composition on the x-axis.The .mogrt file is working fine on my computer in AE and Premiere.On other computers you can only edit the text. The slider isn’t doing anything.On all devices we have installed the latest version of Premiere Pro and After Effects.

Hello, I'm really having a problem that I've been having for a while.Out of nowhere my after started having these unbearable freezes that prevent me from working, I never had a problem like this before, it literally came out of nowhere, I turned on my after as usual and everything went down.I have an nvidia 3060, with 32 of ram, and literally at this moment I only have afte effecst as my only program installed on my pc. I have already done everything to be able to solve this, I even formatted the PC from 0, but the problem persists, I have also changed the settings for a mega ultra better performance for my after and even then, I have taken it to technicians and they have made changes to the computer that don't solve anything either. If anyone has this problem or went through something like this and managed to solve it, please help me not to die trying.

So i downloaded the Plugin Sapphire and then i wanted t open After Effects but it doesnt worked, so i deleated the Plugin and tried to open After Effects again but then it says ;Can't find Sapphire bundle in /Applications/GenArtsSapphireAE/config/sapphire-ae64.bundle: file does not exist.Please reinstall Sapphire Plug-ins to fix this problem . And i really dont know what to do now ! I uninstalled all of my Plings just to have the ones from After Effects on my Desktop. Please help me out !!!!

I tracked a video from youtube with AfX 2024, 3D camera tracker and tracked well  and then i created a solid and camera. when i want to change  direction or position of solid, tracking goes wrong, I added a null and tried to change posision of solid by Null but there is still no synchronize between motion of solid and background. Please help me!

Hello, I am making slot animation in After effects. I have seperately pre-composed 3 shape, and I need to do an animation of it, but I want shapes in the rolling animation to be chosed randomely by After effects. Can anyone help me to write correct expression for that ?  also, is it possible for After effects, to chose the final symbols by itself(like win or lose be depended on the program) ?

Hello everyone! A made a cubus rotate with 3D layer. I also am using an ai. file. But even with turning on collapse transformations everything is still pixelated. Also when rotating the cubus, the cubus is shaking and I don't understand why ? Thank you for your help 😊

Shape Layes has almost everything that Illustrator has, except for the abilty to align the stroke to Inside, Outside or Center. Is there a way to do this?I want this but in After Effects!

I'm working with the new "blinking cursor typewriter console" effect in the 2023 release. Does anyone know how to keep the cursor blinking?  At the end of a sentence, while waiting to start the next paragraph, etc? I copied steps from a video, which has you add extra keyframes into the timeline, which is supposed to tell the text to pause until it gets to the next keyframe, and all the while, the cursor should keep blinking, as if waiting.  It worked in his video, but when I duplicate the actions, my cursor doesn't blink. For now, it only blinks at the very beginning of the text animation. Anyone have solutions or walk-throughs they could post?Thanks

I'm having a weird issue and I'm driving myself crazy. I tried to draw some bezier lines with the pen tool to make a trim path animation for an infographic and when I went to duplicate the top line and mirror it using the flip effect it separated the path and the stroke and mirrored them instead of just flipping them both. i think I'm just lacking sleep but some fresh eyes would be much appreciated. Am I just an idiot making things more complicated then they need to be? lol

Hi, I'm using AE 24.4.1 and I have to shorten a video a bit. This is a 5 minute educational video with 115 layers. The client asked me to cut a line of text off of one screen and to cut out the section of narration (where I read the text out loud.) I've used "Split Layer" to remove that section of narration and I moved the rest of the audio layer to the left on my timeline, thus shortening my narration track. I now need to move all 114 layers to the left on the timeline so they will match the, now shortened, audio track. When I move all those layers I need the keyframes to move with them so they keep their position relative to each other. For example when the opacity of one layer drops from 100 to 0 the next layer's opacity ramps up from 0 to 100 creating a smooth transition. Am I going to have to select 114 layers, *and* their keyframes one-by-one in order to move them all in the timeline? I've seen people suggest using a null object but I'm not repositioning things on the s

hello team, in my after effect 2024 i have very big issue of the top menu. like the file, layer, effect, animation & composition. & the issue is they are lagging too much they are not opening sometimes while the rest of the software is working fine. i would to get help from the cummonuity team and the company if they have seen this problem before

Hello! I'm having trouble understanding AE's camera. I want these horizontal lines to really come together at the vanishing point (like the red lines in the uploaded image). But nothing I do to the camera (point of view, etc) is giving me the perspective that I need. Help!

Myself and several coworkers have started to get import/export errors with the latest version of After Effects (version 24.3). We have found that reverting back to version 24.0.3 completely resolved 100% of our issues. Here are some of the specific issues we've seen so far:Exporting PNGs when the color space is set to Rec.709This results in the classic "AEGP Plugin PNGIO library error." I'll attach screenshots of the errors to this post.Importing MXF video filesThe error message reads, "...cannot be opened, it may be in an unsupported format." Does anybody know a quick fix for these issues, or do we need to wait for Adobe to release a patch? Transcoding our MXF files to another format is NOT an option. Our editor has done some tests with different formats and has requested that we keep the MXF files as-is if possible for the sake of keeping the color the same across all of our shots. The same goes for the PNG exports. Sometimes we need to export PNGs in Rec.709. We do it all the t

I have a pretty big amount of footage that I want to sort through into bins and also add in's and out's to by using premiere. I then want to import the sorted footage into an after effects file (or files) which is where I plan to make an animated film out of the footage. Is it possible for me to somehow preserve the in's and out's that I specified in my project in premiere? I've looked a bit at dynamic link and also just importing the premiere file into my after effects project however neither have seemed to work (or maybe I'm just a newbie lol). I'm also wondering if there's a better workflow to do this with? I've never worked with after effects before and so am not sure if I came up with the best system. Please feel free to recommend if you have a better way of doing all this. Thank you!

I have MSI Thin gf63 thin with i7 12th gen processor, 16 gb ram, rtx 4060 8gb GPU and after effects is pretty slow. I need to do everything in quarter resolution and for example I made some animation with a lot of gradients and effects (5 seconds animation) it took over 2 hours to render it.. Is that normal or?

Hi! I am learning to make this animated mockup. I managed to create the phone and change the background but when I want to make the animation in a new composition the layers appear in the corner and I can not move them. I am really new, I appreciate your help and if I can do something to fix it 

I prefer working with "separate dimensions" active and, as an avid shortcut user, I noticed the lack of a shortcut for adding keyframes specifically to the X or Y positions (since pressing Alt + Shift + P adds keyframes to both). I found an option to assign a shortcut for adding keyframes to the X position, but I couldn't find one for the Y position.
