I have a text layer with the source text being an expression for a data value from a csvfootage("Car facts.csv").dataValue([0,0]) The text displays on screen for about 30 seconds but during that 30 seconds it flicks at random times between the text and some placeholder text I used in the layer whilst I was designing the layout. If I change the value to another part of the source spreadsheet it flicks between the new (correct) value and the oroiginal placeholder text but at different time periods. Seems to be random.It does this in the preview, when I render from AE and when I render from AME.Any suggestions what might be cuasing it?

Hi there. How it is possible, that AE do not redraw preview after deleting or undo deleting layers.

Hi all, I'm on After Effects Beta and trying to use the new animated 3D model function but whilst the animations work inside the software itself, the final export has the 3D models statics and without animation. Any ideas as to why this is happening and how to resolve it?

I've done it many times in other projects with no issues. This time, the glow it creates is HUGE and I can't rid of a weird hard edge on that occurs on the edge of the PNG. I have already tried enlarging both the PNG and the comp quite a lot. There is room in the comp for the glow to keep extending past the edge of the PNG, not sure why it won't. Thanks in advance.

Hello All,Every time I draw a new shape with the rectangle tool, the Opacity is 10% (view image circled in red). I want new shapes to have 100% opacity, but I don't know how to make 100% the default. 100% opacity used to be the default. I don't know how it changed to 10%. Hey Community!I have a comp (FullHD) with a camera and various 3D layers (null objects + parented text layers). In the background is a map animation from Google Earth Studio as a 2D layer. If I now want to animate a path, it is displayed as long as the layer is a 2D layer. As soon as I switch to 3D, I can still see the path (vector line), but no more fill/stroke. Can someone give me the necessary push to find the error?

Hello friends! How can you make an animation like this in After Effects?

I've been trying to animate a little something but whenever I press space or 0 to preview it, it won't stop, it takes a really long time IF it does. I never had this issue before I updated to CC2020, it can't be a media cache or a RAM issue, cause I literally only have like 5 layers of text;; It just keeps looping over and over.

Roto Brush - I'm working on selecting an object moving through a machine assembly line - the Roto Brush 'automatically' selects the majority of elements I guide it to select, however some areas, simply won't select. I could obviously use a mask, but this won't give me the same 'organic' Roto shape I'm used to - is there a way to just 'paint' a selection, without worrying about Roto Brush selecting it?

I have a magnifying loupe in the video that I want to animate. It zooms the underlying footage a bit more to give it that magnifying look. In the screenshot you can see the idea.How i'm trying to do it now is: Footage with person (A) -> Duplicated it (B) -> Mask on clip B -> Lasso clip B to layer with magnifying loupe. But doing that keeps the mask in a fixed place but moves clip B when I want to animate the loupe.  Is there a quick and easy way to link mask to loupe properly and without any (paying) plugins?

Everytime when I open a project in After Effects it takes very long to open it. Sometimes it will take up to an hour to open a project. When I create a new project I will open immediatly but when it is a project I already made it will take that long to open 

Hi, I'm new to the After Effects plugin sdk. I want to get the source file decoding time in complex scenarios, such as after time remapping.I found that "inData->current_time", "time_step", "total_time", "time_scale" is all about player time, NOT decode time. Thank you!

I am opening a project file and trying to search and replace misssing assets. The search function durning import is not working. I have to open another search window to find missing assets. Any help would be appreciated.

Generally work has gone smoothly with Roto Brush 2 in AE 17.5, but I'm about halfway through a 900-frame shot, and suddenly each corrective stroke causes a 30-second delay while it propagates the change. (I had previously jumped through the shot, beginning about halfway through, and applied Roto Brush strokes every five frames, and experienced the same long delays after each stroke.) I've tried narrowing the Roto Brush & Refine Edge span, but as soon as I make a new stroke, the span automatically expands back out to the full length of the shot. I've tried freezing and unfreezing propagation, which doesn't solve my problem. For bonus points, can someone explain how I can get propagation to go back towards the head of the shot? It always indicates it's going towards the end of the shot. Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

Hi All,I have two users who are experiencing an issue with After Effects V 2024.The two users have exactly the same hardware setup. They are running the same macOS Sonoma operating system and the same version of AE, but unfortunately, they also have the exact same problem.After a few minutes of using After Effects, even on lightweight projects, the Mac freezes and often goes into kernel panic, forcing a restart. Needless to say, this problem causes significant inconvenience to the user who cannot use After Effects.What could I try to do to resolve this? I know that many others have had a similar problem (see the link). Currently, I have tried:Uninstalling AE version 2024 and reinstalling itResetting PRAMClearing the cacheI have not been able to solve it. The next steps will be to have the users try using AE in safe mode. And update to Sonoma 14.4 which has recently been released and the operating system has not yet been updated. Hi,I'm working on Adobe After Effects CC 2018 and having trouble to drag my files from the Project window into the Composition window.  It just doesn't do anything.Is there a setting I need to change. Please help.

I seem to be having issues with a group of files I have been working on. It started with one, and now Im this issues with all of them. When I try to open the file, all I see are wireframes in composition window, no images (screenshot attached). When I try to preview I get the error message "Cached preview needs two or more frames to playback." And when I export to media encoder, it tends to stall and crash.*On a side note, I AM able to view the images in the precomps. Just not in the main timeline.The size of the working file is 6.9MB. There are also a lot of layered .psd links and around 11 precomps (not sure if that info is useful or helpful)Computer Specs:MAC OS High SierraProcessor: 3.2 GHzMemory: 8GGraphics: AMD Radeon R9 M390 2048 MBSoftware Specs:After Effects CC 15.1.2Media Encoder CC 12.1.2Things I've tried:- Restarts- Removing and reinstalling After Effects and Media Encoder- Checked for broken links- Preview mode: full- Empty Disk Cache- Clean Database and Cache- Set max mem

I've started getting low memory warnings again with 24.2.1 build 2 and Sonoma 14.3.1. This on simple, undemanding renders with an M2 and 96GB.
