After Effects

Hello, I have been experiencing crashes ion all my Adobe software (AE, Premiere, Media Encoder...) when cliking on the "open Project" menu.I don't even reach the selection of a project since the "open project" menu freezes and AE then crashes.I have cleared the cache, rest preferences, unistall/re install AE, even the Creative Cloud app, updated my gpu drivers... Nothing helped. Any idea what could be happening? Thanks,Vincent

Hello! Before I begin, I just want to disclaim that I am relatively new to after effects–especially on the graphic end of things. Previously, I was building the lower third in premiere for each edit, but I can't afford to spend my time so tediously. I'm trying to create a .mogrt that I can import into premiere as an easy customizable lower third to save time. However, is there an expression to just make the width of the line adaptable to the text? The only YouTube videos I can find deal with "sourceRectAtTime();", however I do not want the height of the line to expand, and I've tried to use it with just width and not height but get the error code: expression result must be of dimension 2 not 1. Am I using the wrong expression? Is there a better way to achieve what I need with the layout of this lower third? Open to any and all tips, I am strugglingggg 

I have Sonoma 14.6. As After Effects version 24.5 launches, I' getting warning notices like, After Effects warning: there are multiple copies of plug-in "Photoshop Layer Import" on your hard drive. I'm a long time Adobe subscriber and need, step-by- step help finding and deleting multiple copies of plug ins in After Effects. Thanks 

i was trying to save my video's progress so i don't lose it and it comes up with this message saying after effects warning: error with file (user name and file name). but after the file name it comes up with these numbers -> 332.4367050176.aep ?? i never named the file with these number either.Anyways i tried to save it to different locations such as my desktop, another folder, documents folder. and it still wouldnt work. heres the message

image buffers of size 25000 x 25000 @ 8 bpc (2.3 GB ) exceed internal limits.When I want to import photos into the after effects ,I get a limiting error while opening multiple times this size in Photoshop ( 86000 px 43000 px )  I am grateful for the efforts of the makers of this software and I hope it gets better every day. But why do you design your software like this with these unnecessary restrictions? I have 64 gigs of RAM, a simple software opens a 25000 pixel photo, but the professional after effect software says I can't! What logic does this make? Your manager (Kevin-Monahan) says to solve your problem by calling us! You remove the limit. If the photo is big, I will wait until the process is finished or anything . why you stop us to use big file ? i need big file for more details.I emphasize again, I am grateful to all of you 

Hello,I want to try out Adobe after effects but I have problems with rendering speed.I cannot change the GPU since it is installed in a laptop.I have an Intel i9 and 32 GB of memory, my system is also full SSD enabled.For what I have been trying now the rendering is very slow.I have been looking to optimize the settings for the NVidia board and therefore I found this video.https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=g4NltnUcScI But when I apply these setting I start getting memory errors.In the comments on the video I could read that many people noticed speed decrease instead on increase.So does somebody know sttings that could work for this board?

Hey, so awhile ago I had this problem on BCC with one effect that didn't work but every other effect works just fine. I was told to update my BCC so I finally did (I used to use bcc 2019 with after effects 2021, everything worked just fine other than one effect; BCC LED) I updated to BCC 2021 to match my program but now everytime I use an effect I get this message: "after effects effect ___ has global outflags mismatch. code glags are 0 and pipl flags are 8c01488" (only one example) and it happens with every effect now.  And now all my videos have a giant red X over them when I try and add the effect? What's going on? Is it even possible to revert back to bcc 2019 because it worked better than this.

I always run out of RAM while rotoscoping in After Effects. I'm having 13th gen Intel i7 HX processor with 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM and 6GB RTX 4050 GPU. I tried everything from cleaning cache to allocating maximum RAM. Why I'm facing this? Somebody help me out please.

I have a line of text animating in using 'fade up words' and would like to change the opacity to 0% a few seconds later.I tried adding the 'fade up words' effect to the text, and then adding the add > opacity, which created an 'Animator 2', but when I added 100% opacity and then faded it to 0% later, the 100% opacity would override the 'Animator 1' 'fade up words' effect.

I have a 20 second video which was recorded over 72hrs and need to add a clock to it, counting up to 72hrs. I have tried to offset the Timecode but can't figure out how to actually make it count up faster than normal time. Is there a way to do this in Premier or After Effects? Thanks

Hello everyone, my AE gives a message about an unsupported file format when trying to import a 360 video shot on X4. The files have the extensions *.insv and *.irv. Moreover, on YouTube, I see videos in which people work with such files in AE. Has AE 2023 stopped supporting such files?

Hello, as of today I have not been able to quit After Effects-the menu option is grayed out. I am running 24.5.0. I am using AE with Premiere, dynamically linking to comps. Has something changed?  

In Dropbox you can set some files or folders to be 'online-only', which makes them visible in Finder and apps but physically they're not available to open unless they are made 'available offline' and downloaded.For some reason AE has problem opening mp4 files which were previously 'online-only', despite them being stored locally. Here are the steps to reproduce this bug:1. Make some mp4 file online-only using Dropbox.2. Open AE project file which has those files used in the project.3. AE will give you an error:1) After Effects error: The source compression type is not supported. 2) After Effects error: file 'XXXX.mp4' cannot be imported - this 'MooV' file is damaged or unsupported.this is understandable, since the file is online-only so it's not stored locally yet.4. Turn off AE, and make the mp4 file available offline using Dropbox.5. Open AE again. Despite the file being now already available on the hard drive, AE still gives you the same error and marks the file as missing. Reimport

I have a field of symbols of varying opacities and sizes (over 100). I need to animate all of them moving up and out of view at different speeds. I used null objects and animated them going from below the stage to above the stage and added a loopOut(type="continue") expression to the position property. The problem is that the symbols leave the stage. Ideally, the symbols should cycle back from the bottom and to the top. I'm not sure how to get that to work. loopOut(type="cycle") does that, but the symbols appear back where they started. Essentially, it should just be a continuous loop for every symbol. I was thinking a particle effect might help, but there are 2 symbols and they vary a bit. Any suggestions?

Vector shape changing color, gradiant to flat and mixing shapes when converting as 3D layer.Created two shapes in a single layer inside After Effects. When converting as 3D layer color is changing gradiant to flat color. Hi All, I am attempting to streamline my rendering process since I make make many renders a day, sometimes in batches from a single AE Project, and manually selecting output destinations is tedious. I have created a custom "File Name and Location Template", saved it, and set it to default, however, when I add to the render queue, the output destination is always "not yet specified", despite me having set my custom template to default. In fact, no matter what Template I set to default (even the stock ones), every comp's output destination is "not yet specified". Can someone assist me with this? Thanks!

Hey guys, I really don't know what to do. I bought new laptop for 1000€ only for AE. I couldn't afford anymore. It is MSI thin gf63 i7 12gen, rtx 4060, 16 GB ram, 500 SSD and my AE is so so slow. I updated everything, I searched all over internet and I don't know what is problem. I know that AE is powerful but I can't believe that this laptop can function properly with it. I need to do everything in quarter preview and when I use rotobrush and plugins like deep glow.. it is dieing. I am really dissapointed and don't know what to do. My friend have PC with rtx 3060 i think with ryzen processor (lower specs than my laptop) and he doesn't have big problems..do you know soultion? I would be so so thankful.

After Effects being insanely buggy - I though possibly due a project being created on PC and switched to Mac. But then I checked a project that was fine last week and that is not working now either.I have a new M2 Max Mac running the latest AE.All yesterday bugs kept creeping in such as:unable to highlight layers. AE auto selecting layers when I move past them.unable to highlight or move keframes.unable to change parameters on plugins.at one point the i renamed a comp and that neame turned up in a plugin parameter.The person I am working with opened the same file on his PC and it works fine,.
