After Effects

Since ever, I cannot get the content aware fill to have decent results, no matter how simple the scene is. And it confuses me when I see tutorials on youtube where people, usually, get decent fills with just a few clicks.I'm attaching a video of my application of the content aware fill in a scene and another of the sample I used so you can see exactly what I'm doing  and what could be missing wrong.

I have a simple 4-second comp it is a clip of a car moving about 14ft (a to b). I used a particle playground to create smoke from the car's engine. Then, I used a null with tracking to make the smoke follow the vehicle. LOOKS GREAT !!However, the smoke is just going straight up in the air, and in real-world physics, it would be affected by the wind caused by the car's movement. How can I create this effect so that the smoke moves somewhat realistically with the car?

I'm creating AE paths from data, setting the paths to rotobezier mode gives nice curvey shapes that fit through the data points. Running into issues though when I try and set this via jsx. If I manually change the rotobezier mode for a mask, I can query the rotoBezier property:myLayer = mainComp.layers.byName('my cool layer'); mask = myLayer.property('Masks').property('Mask 1'); alert(mask.rotoBezier);but if I try and set it:mask.rotoBezier=true;I can query it and see that its true, even the menu option under Layer -> Mask and Shape path -> Rotobezier has the tick next to it to show its active, but the comp itself doesn't change mode. Further, if I try the same thing but with a path instead of mask, I can't get it to return any value, and I definitely can't get it to update in the comp. Any ideas?

Hi, I've opened one of our projects today and saw there's a black bar visible on the bottom of every clip in our composition. It's visible in the original footage out of the project window as well. The bar is not in the original footage and is not caused by accidentally moving the clips up. Tried realoading the footage already, no effect.The weird thing is that AE apparently "sees" the black bar in the footage, since it's even effected by the Chroma Key (see picture attached). Does anyone have an idea? I'd like to avoid having to scale all footage to get rid of the bar. Thx in advancebounding box handlesoriginal footage AE key light  "seeing" the black bar

Hi there!I've got this collection of Pre Comps that end up being a christmas tree filled with clips. Something I grabbed from the adobe shop. I've got everything timed the way I want it to go with the music I've picked. I'm just running into a big problem.When I go to edit the "Box Back 12" where my video clip would go, I can insert the video but it plays back very slowly compared to the rest of my composition. I edited the video in Premier and timed it up with the same song, so it should be running at the right time. For some reason though it's just really bogged down and slow running.I"m still super new with AE so I know i'm explaining this badly. if anyones willing to help I'm good at finding answers to questions ya'll would have for me/if you need more information. Here's what I'm looking at.

What settings should I use to create a file in AE so that I can use it in Vegas Pro 19? I have just upgraded from an older version of AE (CS5) to the latest version and I am finding that the setting that I used in the older version no longer creates a file that I can use in Vegas Pro. Orriginally I would create an AVI file and then use Handbrake to create an MP4 file. Now when I create the AVI file it won't work in Handbrake. Handbrake starts to load it and then at 10% it hangs and never completes. When I try the H264 preset, Vegas doesn't recognize it. Any suggestions?

After effects seems to always have this issue when using an external monitor as video preview monitor the image is not as crisp on the comp, it looks like there is an issue with scaling, is there any solution to this issue? I am using AE of a Mac

As I am using Ae, it slowly eats up more and more RAM until the computer hangs, forcing a hard restart. The only way I have so far found to keep working is to keep one eye on Task Manager and periodically manually purge the RAM and Disk Cache in Ae before it overloads. Notably, Ae seems not to register the amount of RAM it is using correctly. It is usually saying that it is using far less than Task Manager says it is. Consequently the 'ram reserved for other applications' failsafe does not kick in.  I havereserved 8GB ram for other applicationsHave 20GB Disk Cache set to an internal (reasonably fast) HDD. When manually purging, the Disc Cache is never near full, more likely to be around 750MB of data. Have my footage on a different drive than the Disk CacheAm running no 3rd party plugins in this projectset to Reduce Cache Size when system is low on memorytried uninstalling & reinstalling Aeensured my graphics card drivers are up to date I've been using this

Bonjour,Je souhaiterais récupérer des configurations de rendu créées dans After Effect, pour pouvoir les utiliser dans Media Encoder.Le problème étant que je peux exporter d'AE du .aom et .ars mais que Média Encoder attend du .eprDu moins d'après ce que je vois !Je pensais que ce serait simple mais je n'ai pas trouvé de solution…Quelqu'un connait la manip ?Merci 🙂

Anybody knows how to fix this? I use a plugin/script called Immigration which allows me to quickly replace image sequences in AE (something I wish AE would have by default). Every time I run the script the layout in AE goes nuts and some of my tools get tiny, specifically those close to the Project tab. Please watch the screen-record to see what im talking about  Also, I have asked the author of the plugin for help but he said this isn't an issue with the plugin/script but with AE and I can confirm as this also happens with other unrelated scripts.

When Path is selected all the propertics above the path is selected. What is the reason for that? Video also uploaded.   

When I rendered the video in the Roto brush tool, and then decided to fix its mistakes, it just doesn’t draw, doesn’t fix anything, please help

Hello!I've just started a new project and as soon as I've imported the main footage, AE gave me the hated low memory warning.I'm working on my laptop (RAM is 16GB) and I've already reserved to AE as much RAM as possible. I also shut down all the other applications while working. I've purged all my disk cache and followed every other step I've found online, such as lowering the preview resolution and reopening the project into a new one. Nothing works. The most disturbing thing is that, as I've said, the error appeared as soon as I imported my footage. No effects, no animations, nothing at all. The file size itself isn't even that big (4.7GB), I've worked with no problems with way bigger files. Being this a collaborative project, I can't update to AE 2024. Is there a way I can fix it while staying in the 2023 version?Thank you so much for your help

The following is a scene originally from Unreal.The camera is moving forward. We added a noise layer over the leaves' alpha (in order to create celebration effect). But the output seems to be a little trippy which wasn't the intended effect. How to resolve this? 

Hey!I've used Track Matte for showing videos in Shape-layers several times. I dont know why this happens now? The video in the shape layer just turns solid black? I've tried to put the selected shape layer (above the video and under "x5" layer, as seen in the video as well) but that doesnt solve the problem. Still just solid black.Any ideas?BrNiklaz

Hello,I've run into a problem exporting MOGRT files from Afte Effects 2021, during export process no errors are displayed but resulting file is 2kb in size and contains only definition.json file with no project or assests.

My adobe subscription has renewed 4-5 days ago, and I still get a cancellation fee when I try to cancel.I have had no way to cancel after effects for 3 months now, and says I will be charged a fee no matter what.Version: After Effects 2023

My computer had an error when trying to export and after effects deleted the "Fill" effect from my PC so now it says it's missing. Is there a way I can reinstall it?

Hello, Adobe Community!For context, i use after effects 2023.so basically i was making an edit and somehow ae crashed and since then i cant open that project, what can i do? the project size its about 15,1 MB 😢i tried-purge-uninstall and reinstall the program-uninstall and reinstall the plugins-upgrading to ae2024-changing some settings like= edit-preferences-display-turned off the 3rd option=edit-preferences-previews-and changed the zoom quality and color management quality from "more accurate" to "faster"=auto-save every 5 minute=put 12gb ram =changed resolution from full to quarter-i even tried to make a new composition and import there the project but the ae keeps crashing...  please help!!

Hi!  Wishing you all  a Merry Christmas!  I am making an infographic. So I want an wave to appear inside a box. once the box finishes its animation the wave will appear inside it. so I draw an wave shape, applied set matt so that it only appears inside the rectangle/box. All was okay so far. but once I apply wave warp on it it comes out from the container(rectangle/box). I want it to stay inside like it was before the wave warp was applied and then it will move inside, not outside. Why is this happening?   😥 Please help 😥

I'm using a shape layer as a track matte, and to create a black border I've duplicated the shape, switched off the fill and turned on the stroke. I want to create a sort of "comic book panel" effect, so I'd like the border to look more like a hand-drawn pencil texture than a uniform solid line. Is it possible to change the brush style for the stroke on a shape layer?I've obviously looked but I can't see anything in the stroke parameters for that. I can kinda-sorta get what I want with use of the Roughen Edges effect and/or with the Wave parameter, but is there any way to actually change the brush style for a stroke?

As an image says more than a thousand words 🙂I need to convert this to a mogrt, so I need the yellow text to be a different textlayer, as it uses a different font/weight. That said, the 'line text 01' can never extend beyond the red line. So the user needs to be able to break to second line (but I believe you can't do that in premiere essential panel?).  So is there a automatic break expression maybe I can add? Or I just use a Boxtext? Anyhow when the first text goes to 2 lines, the yellow subtext must jump position.How do I do that?  thanks! Merry xmas
