After Effects

Avoid updating app whenever possible. If you do be prepared for files not opening, dynamic links to .aep in Premiere breaking and as a result huge delays in getting projects done. Anything with Cineware being used can result in files you can no longer open unless you stay in whatever version you created them in. Adobe will tempt you with new features. Run away and only update if there is no other choice. Having said all that when AE and Premiere work they are great. 😛  Updating generally means things will break. 

Bonjour tout le monde ! Depuis hier je me retrouve confronté à un problème peu pratique, suite à un formatage de mon PC pour passer sur windows 11 proprement et donc à une réinstallation de la suite creative cloud. En voulant réinstaller mes différents plugins par la suite, j'ai remarqué une errreur avec Aeviewer, que j'utilise beaucoup (CF capture d'écran). En effet il m'affiche un message d'erreur comme quoi le fichier "fsLib" ne charge pas et qu'il me faut réinstaller AE ... Ce que j'ai fait plusieurs fois au cas ou mais rien n'y fait ! Idem pour Aeviewer que j'ai réinstallé plusieurs fois 😞  Avez-vous une idée d'ou peut venir ce problème ?  Merci d'avance !

Hi everyone, I tried to render a very simple animation, but Bodymovin completely disorganized the whole sequence.Here is what I want to render: Animation in mp4Here is Bodymovin’s result: https://app.lottiefiles.com/animation/4f1a01a6-fa18-4be6-aecf-14ded647191f The logo didn't sequently animate letters but instead all at one (I used Stroke in After Effect to reveal my logo, I did check the Sequently Box applied on all masks), the bottom text’s placement is also messed up. The result is consistent by exporting in mp4 or gif, but JS has completely different result. Please let me know if there is a way to fix this issue. I also tried to render only the vector composition but the order still got messed up.  Thank you

So i downloaded a movie from Mega, then i imported it to after effects to edit it. When i previewed the movie clip in AE, turns out there was just the background noise (music, sound effects, etc) but no speaking noises from the characters. I thought this has something to do with the original movie from the Mega i downloaded. So i went to Mega to preview the actual movie, and the sound audio was perfect!! there was even the characters audio and everything. Pls help idk what to do!!!!!! Why is it that theres only the bg noises in AE?

Complete novice here.I have a short 7sec clip that I'm trying to use the 3D Camera Tracker on. It's a clip downloaded directly from an online AE class specifically for practicing 3D Camera Tracking, so it should work - the teacher uses it in the class. When I click track camera, it analyzes and solves the camera. No errors show up. But no track points appear either. When I switch 'Show Track Points' from 3D Solved to 2D Source, then they show up. But when I switch back, nothing. Show Layer Controls is enabled. The Fx symbol is on in the little box by the effect name. I tried switching project settings from Mercury Software Only to Mercury GPU Acceleration (Metal) and back. Nothing. I'm using a 2020 Macbook Pro with:1.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 Processor16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3 MemoryIntel Iris Plus Graphics 645 1536 MB Graphics I've searched on all the relevant threads already posted on here and nothing seems to work. Screenshot attached below.

I've been building a comp in AE with two .glb models in it using the Advanced 3D renderer...  Imported the comp into a Premiere Pro seequence and nothing would show up in the program monitor, just a black screen.  Tried using "render and replace" and it has been stuck at the "analyzing project" for 10 minutes or so.  I am guessing this functionality isn't supported yet? Guess I will avoid dynamic link entirely and just render out of AE...  I am on a 16-inch 2021 M1 MBP. 

Issue - Sometimes I will be in the middle of moving a layer along the timeline when After Effects decides to auto save. If I am still holding/dragging the layer when the autosave occurs, After Effects will crash. Adobe After Effects version number - 23.3.0Operating system - MacOS Ventura 13.5Steps to reproduce - Tough to reproduce without being able to trigger an autosave, but supposing you can, simply drag a layer in the timeline when the autosave occurs.Expected result - After Effects should not autosave while the layer is being moved so it won't crash.Actual result -  Crash

When using Adobe Tenon Font Family...there seems to be some glitch/bug when using Essential Graphic and the Faux styles on "Source Text". I discovered this in making some MOGRT files.This happens similarily with other fonts, so I'm not sure if it's a font issue, or an After Effects interpretation issue (see attached images)  

Our color grader reported multiple flickering Prores444 clips, all of them rendered with an M2 Mac. We did a bunch of re-rendering with an Intel Mac and they came out nice an clean. After a few tests I can confirm that the M2 renders are unusable. The flicker is small but very noticable in the scopes and can been seen with pure eye on high contrast shots. Here's a screen recording to see the issue: https://youtu.be/-eMXjwSmOmwThe flickering has been seen on renders coming from two different systems (M2 Max Macbook Pro and M2 Ultra Mac Studio). I haven't had time to do much trouble shooting, but disabling hardware acceleration didn't help. I also noticed that the flicker doesn't happen on the same frames every time if I render the same clip twice.

Updated to After Effects 23.4 now crashes continuously. After launching AE and start working on a project for work it crashed within 5min and when trying to reopen I receive a message prompt:"We detected a crash in your last session. Crashs can potentially be causes by faulty plugins or corrupt preferecnes. We recommend starting a Safe Mode session in ordfer to diagnose the problem. During Safe Mode session default prefeances are used and 3rd party effect plugins can be disabled." I tried the following:Putting it in Safe Mode - Crashed in 5minReset Preferances - Crashes in 5minManaged Plugins disabled all plugins - Crashed in 5minUninstalled Plugins and Restared computer - Still crashed in 5minUninstalled AE and Reinstalled - Still crashed...Downgraded to previous update - still crashed. Any idea on what to do?

  Keep recieving this alert-  I have updated everything and re-installed twice. I can't work in AE it keeps crashing and giving this alert. 

I would like to replace one still in a After Effects project that is used in multiple comps, to save as a Mogrt.  I have set up a menu that uses one of 12 comps at a time. Some of the comps use the same still, but I need to be able to use Media Replacement for that still while in Premiere.I cant figure out how to make the ONE media replacement change in ALL of the comps.

Heyo, so the issue I have that keeps popping up is each time I go to make a new project in After Effects an image keeps popping up as the background no matter how many times I try to change the color of the background. It wouldn't be an issue, if it didn't also show up in rendering. Making me have to add a black or colored shape to hide it. I have closed the project quite a few times, but it still persists.I wanted to know if anyone else has encountered this weird bug, and how they got past it? Or if I have to uninstall and reinstall after effects.Any imput is welcome, thank you!Here is what a new comp looks like when I load one in. 

I'm having a frustrating problem with my current project. When I speed up my footage by 4 seconds, one frame in the middle of the video flips upside down. Of course the glitch happens right in the middle of the part I need to use. I have no idea why this is happening or how to fix it. I'm using Version 24.1.0 on Windows 10.

I've got a path on a Shape layer and I'm copying that path into the Position of another layer (so I can animate that layer along the path).But I need to reverse the direction that the pasted position travels.So instead of the object moving left to right, I need right to left. I tried changing the "Reverse Path Direction" parameter on the path before copy/pasting, but that didn't seem to do anything.

Glacially Slow Viewport performance when moving/positioning Type in After Effects, since Sonoma Upadate on Mac.   40 Shapes Layers move snappily.But four Text Layers with a single word on each chugg like its 1998. Anyone else getting this?8 Bit Project. Mecury GPU acelleration turned on in Settings.Multithreading off makes no diffrence. 🤷🏼‍♂  

I've been trying to animate some text to have the Typewriter effect and I can't figure out how to make the animation start at the right of the text but also start with the first letter of my text. For example my text would say "Learn today", I want the animation to start with "L" and move over to the left to make space for the next letters. Right now I managed to start at the right side but in my example it would make the "y" in "today" appear first. Do I need a specific plugin to do this or can it be done with After Effects options ? Any advice would be appreciated.   

dès que je lance l'outil pour supprimer un élément d'une vidéo, soit after effect disparait ou alors me dit que mon dossier de cache disque figure sur un lecteur qui n'a pas suffisament d'espace disponible pour bien stocker la quantité spécifiée dans mes préférences. cependant, j'ai déjà vidé le cache disque et fait de la place sur mon ordinateur qui est puissant et possède de la place. Il a 1 To de place et 32 Go de RAM. que dois je faire ? 

It's desperating that everytime I update After effects I lose all my setting: workspaces shortcuts, grid & label colors,... It's been years with the same problem and yet it goes on with this bug. Please, stop deleting existing settings! Or at least give us a chance to keep them! I lose one morning of work with every update trying to leave the app with the adjustements I feel comfortable with.

Hi, Im new to using Cinema 4D Lite. When i track a camera in AE, make ground plane, camera and text and the export to Cinema 4D, no track is exportet. When i press play in C4D, my camera just points away from my text, and nothing happens.In AE the tekst does follow the tracked camera though. But I run into problms, when I try and make a plane for catching shadow

Hello,I am looking to start a disk cache cleanup script when closing After Effect.The script is fully functional when I run it from the script executor.However, when it is started at closing, I have the message displayed but nothing happens at the cache.I think the problem is in the window that asks for confirmation before deletion (when it is started manually).Do you have any ideas or solutions?Here is the script (normally valid for CS6, CC) : {app.executeCommand(10200);alert("Clear cache !");}Thank you in advance.Have a good day.Guillaume.

The lumetri color effect seems to be destroyed after updating from 24.2.1 to 24.3. on my MacBook Pro M1 Max (Sonoma 14.3.1). All colors of an actual project are washed out now without changing any settings so I have to switch back to 24.2.1. 

Hi there! First time posting... So I've been having this problem for a couple months now and it all came out of the blue. Anytime that I try send something from AE to Media Encoder or even Premiere, AE will just completely shut down. It will give me an error saying something about a dynamic link issue or a RenderTaskManager error. And a weird thing is that it's not always saying the error in the "After Effects Alert" when it crashes. But it happens EVERY SINGLE TIME without fail and it's really screwing with my workflow. I've looked online to try and find anyone else having this problem, and I haven't found an answer.. So I've come here to get help! This originally happened randomly one day when I was working on AE 2021. So I thought I just needed to update. So I updated my computer to Monterey and updated all of the Adobe applications to 2022. And I'm still having the same problem. I've tried clearing cache and resetting all of that.. Didn't help.. I've tried uninstalling AE
