After Effects

Project that had no issue and is reopened a week later shows font as missing (name in square brackets).It requires manually changing the font to the right one.There is only one font of that name installed in Windows / Font folder but After Effects shows it duplicated in Character panel. One working one in square brackets. The problem is AE switched from working one to the one in brackets.It happened before with few other fonts too.This is a serious issue because you can easily render out animation assuming everything is correct because it was checked and saved before, meanwhile the fonts are messed up.

If I am importing any file on After Effects, be it an Illustrator file or a PNG, it is not getting rendered through media encoder but if I am using a soild layer in After effects, Media Encoder is rendering it. Can anyone please help me in figuring out this issue?

I have a text layer with the source text being an expression for a data value from a csvfootage("Car facts.csv").dataValue([0,0]) The text displays on screen for about 30 seconds but during that 30 seconds it flicks at random times between the text and some placeholder text I used in the layer whilst I was designing the layout. If I change the value to another part of the source spreadsheet it flicks between the new (correct) value and the oroiginal placeholder text but at different time periods. Seems to be random.It does this in the preview, when I render from AE and when I render from AME.Any suggestions what might be cuasing it?

Hi there. How it is possible, that AE do not redraw preview after deleting or undo deleting layers.

Hi all, I'm on After Effects Beta and trying to use the new animated 3D model function but whilst the animations work inside the software itself, the final export has the 3D models statics and without animation. Any ideas as to why this is happening and how to resolve it?

I've done it many times in other projects with no issues. This time, the glow it creates is HUGE and I can't rid of a weird hard edge on that occurs on the edge of the PNG. I have already tried enlarging both the PNG and the comp quite a lot. There is room in the comp for the glow to keep extending past the edge of the PNG, not sure why it won't. Thanks in advance.

Hello All,Every time I draw a new shape with the rectangle tool, the Opacity is 10% (view image circled in red). I want new shapes to have 100% opacity, but I don't know how to make 100% the default. 100% opacity used to be the default. I don't know how it changed to 10%. Hey Community!I have a comp (FullHD) with a camera and various 3D layers (null objects + parented text layers). In the background is a map animation from Google Earth Studio as a 2D layer. If I now want to animate a path, it is displayed as long as the layer is a 2D layer. As soon as I switch to 3D, I can still see the path (vector line), but no more fill/stroke. Can someone give me the necessary push to find the error?

When i save or import a preset for some reason the keyframes do not appear it shows the stopwatch being selected but the keyframes are not ther3e this has never been an issue before but is really starting to stress me out as im trying to edit right now and cant ive searched all over youtube and found nothing i had just made a shake and gone to save it i then tried to import it via apply animation preset but it didnt work and all the keyframes were lost at first i thought there was a problem with how i was saving it but then i went to import a preset which i had purchased from a friend and the keyframes did not appear on that either i was confused so i tried it on another preset where it worked this has left me very annoyed and i cant find an answer anywhere could anyone tell me what im doing wrong or how to fix this as i have re installed ae countless times and searched everywhere with no success any help would be extremely appreciated thak you.

Issue - The performance of After Effects drops significantly when attempting to change the fill and stroke colors of multiple selected shape layers while the Properties Panel is open and visible. When using the color picker, AE takes multiple seconds to update and has even completely frozen at times. The performance drop increases as more shape layers are selected. When I am doing 3D animation and change the Comp view from "1 View" to "2 Views" the audio won't play during previews.  Switch back to "1 View" and the audio will play.  Very sure it's a bug, just wanted to report it.  I'm on a 2013 Mac Pro  running OS 12.6.3 on AE version 23.2.0 Build 65

Really painfull Bug, when you add any keyframe with shortcut to (selected) layer automaticaly deselect all so if you want to add scale and then position to SELECTED adds scale property but when you add position you have to select them again. Also if you Ctrl+z the undo action steps into every single layer one at a time not all at once.Please Fix it

AE 23.4.0Windows10 When applying an animation preset to a layer, the .ffx historically sets the dimensionsSeparated property of the target layer when it is required to property apply the preset. AE 23.4 now fails to do this.Steps to reproduce:create a solidseparate position dimensionsadd a key to x, y, positionsselect properties and Save Animation Preset and save file.create a new solid with non-separated dimensions.Apply new preset. It will fail to take effect.Attempting on an earlier release will properly separate dimensions to the target layer to apply the preset.

I found multiple possible solutions to this bug (from clean cache to the change of renderer) but none one them worked. Hello friends! How can you make an animation like this in After Effects?

I've been seeing issues with Cmd-H ever since upgrading to Ventura, but unlike the Save As… dialog cursor bug, I haven't seen this one mentioned elsewhere. AE often fails to hide when I use Cmd-H. The UI focus shifts to the Finder, but the AE window remains visible. If I minimize AE, undocked panels remain visible and cause issues. Using the menu command After Effects > Hide After Effects seems to work more consistently than the keyboard shortcut, though that may be coincidence. The problem as a whole is intermittent, not constant, so it's hard to test and provide specific detailed descriptions.

Hi, over roughly the last year, I'm frequently getting this error on all AE versions I have installed (latest on AE 24.0):  It seems to occur either when opening AE for the first time or when moving into AE from another application. Just to be clear: there's nothing other that causes this. I'm not trying to paste something in. It just suddenly comes up. Generally, there's not much downside to it other than having to click 'Okay'. However, it's quite annoying as it can occur quite often during a session. Also, sometimes it seems to crash some docked scripts and they'll have to be reopened. Why is this happening and can it be fixed? Best wishes,Constantin

Hello! I updated my macbook to MacOS Sonoma and now my After Effects 2020 is not launching , it says “ unexpected error during application startup” 😞

I've been trying to animate a little something but whenever I press space or 0 to preview it, it won't stop, it takes a really long time IF it does. I never had this issue before I updated to CC2020, it can't be a media cache or a RAM issue, cause I literally only have like 5 layers of text;; It just keeps looping over and over.

Why is my footage darker in After Effecst than in Premiere? After Effects' timeline is set to Rec 709 Gamma 2.4, Premiere timeline is set to Rec 709 After Effects:Premiere: What's going on?
