After Effects

This was previously reported on these forums and the now-defunct uservoice at least as far back as 2018, but I think it's fallen between the cracks. Since the uservoice closed, the upvote tracking on those reports have also been lost to time.  If I have a JSON file as a footage layer in the Timeline to use as a source for driving expressions, and the structure of that JSON changes—order of key:values, value types, or even appending values—After Effects will throw a warning dialog. It is currently impossible to supress this warning in scripting (see the first link below) and there is no preference. Hello,AE version 24.5 (can't up/downgrade since I've many work-in-progress projects)Machine specsintel core i7 12400 12 cores, 24 threads64 gb ram1tb storage nvmewindows 11 pro Need urgent help, I searched this forum for the same issue and followed the steps for people who successfully fixed it, none worked (including booting the project from the original file location) Here's the project file. P.S I'm utilizing Joysticks and sliders plug in. My other projects that use the same plug-in setup boot up perfectly. It seems to be a problem with how AE handles this file specifically.  

After updating AE from 23.3 to 24.4 we are seeing that CC Ball Action is giving us very different results. This is forcing us to roll back our AE install. While we appreciate the new options in the plugin such as the Coloring options (crisp, medium, smooth) none of these completely match the results from the previous version. Setting the Color option to Crisp gives us something close to what the previous version did, but it's still different.  We've tested this issue on both Intel and AMD based computers, running Nvidia GPU's (2080ti and 3090 respectively) 

I'm using the 24.6.2 version of After Effects and the 24.6.1 version of Premier Pro on a MacBook Air M2 with 16GB RAM and I keep getting this problem whenever I switch to another window and back to the programs. I was using both software perfectly fine until now, but it just started doing this thing where when I switch to any other window and come back it just freezes the timeline completely, and then any action that I do after that just crushes the application completely.Things I tried:1. Turning off GPU acceleration2. Clearing my cache and resetting preferences3. Playing around with the audio hardware4. Installing older versions5. Reinstalling the current versions6. Checking my RAM and GPU performanceNothing solved the problem so far, any help is appreciated!

Simplesmente está IMPOSSÍVEL utilizar o After Effects. Basta alguns clipes (não mais que uns 10) e alguns efeitos aparentemente "pesados" que o After Effects apresenta 2 erros AO MESMO TEMPO: "out of memory (79K) {esse valor entre parênteses muda conforme a situação}, e "unable to allocate 66, 445mb of memory" (o valor da memória nesse caso também muda). Plug-ins como o Sapphire por exemplo se recusam a funcionar e já apresentam esse erro logo de cara apenas ao adicionar o efeito. O mesmo acontece até mesmo com efeitos nativos do próprio After Effects (um pouco mais raramente, mas acontece), mostrando que com muita pouca coisa a memória ram do meu computador já fica lotada, isso se realmente a mensagem de erro faz juz ao problema que realmente está acontecendo com o software (tenho minhas dúvidas com relação a isso). Tenho um vídeo mostrando minhas tentativas de dar play na preview e acontecendo diversos erros do gênero ao mesmo tempo, impossibilitando a continuação do meu trabalh

When adding a stroke to a shape, it'll dissapeaer if the shapes paths overlap.I tried offsetting the stroke, but I still cannot get it to function the way I want it to. Expected behaviour would be to have the trokes overlap one another, not vanish. If anyone knows any work arounds, I could really use the help. This is very frustrating. 

I have encountered an issue. After clicking on the Draft 3D or Advanced 3D button, a dialog box appears with the following content. The program doesn't allow any actions besides saving and closes. Sometimes, another error occurs. Please advise on what the issue might be and how to fix it. My specifications:Windows 10 Processor: i9900lk Graphics Card: 2080 Super 8GB RAM: 64GB My previous actions to resolve the issue:Uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe After Effects, including the Beta version.Installed the latest drivers for the graphics card, including the Studio version.Modified rendering settings in the project and adjusted values in GPU Information.Please help me!

Issue - Rendered proRes files have been logging that they are rendered in the future by one day every month since leap day.Adobe After Effects version number Version 24.3.0Operating system Windows 11Steps to reproduce - I am receiving the issue with both After Effects and Encoder when trying to render any project with Quicktime ProRes codecs.  For instance, render a ProRes 422, the render file date of a render from May 2nd will show its file date in explorer as May 5th, three days in the futureExpected result - Render date and time should show current date and time of renderActual result -  Since leap day, it seems that renders are showing one additional day in the future added per new month since february 29th

日本語版のAfterEffects 2024で、Cycore社の　CC～　エフェクトが英語表示名のタブに入っています。AfterEffects 2023までは日本語のタブに入っていました。英語表記になったことでエフェクトリストを圧迫しています。英語版で起動すると、英語表記になるためそのままの表示名です。現状日本語ユーザーに対して明らかに不要かつ問題のある状況であるため、速やかな修正を求めます。  

I’ve been having a problem with the preview window zoom in and out. I click it and it only pops up for a split second, giving me no time to click anything. It randomly does that, sometimes it's normal and then it's not.

In most of my renders I get such noisy shadows or even the whole render. What is the solution!

I've tested in several versions from 2023, up to AE beta. loopout("continue") creates inconsistent noisy speed, and doesn't continue at a consistent speed. Wtf. I have to force quit After Effects EVERYTIME, there is no error or freezing going on it just refuses to close through the file menu or right click. Why?

Laptop with a Finnish keyboard. M is in the right spot though, and bound to the correct command. Also, I can't change the keyboard language layout, changes right back to English when I try to save it. I don't have a search bar active or anything.

I have always had issues getting assets from Cinema into AE, with keyframes and animations being completely messed up. Baking out keyframes sometimes helps. This time, I am having issues getting an animation from AE to C4D via the exporter. It's one 3D layer with dimensions separated. This should be simple to get right, but if it can't, then it's completely useless. The animation does not match up. All sorts of weirdness is going on. 

Hi everyone,I've been using After Effects for years, and this is the first time I've encountered a glitch like this. Typically, to create a nice shadow quickly, I stack multiple Drop Shadow effects and vary their opacity, distance, and softness. However, it seems that now, when I add a new Drop Shadow effect, it duplicates the previous one, causing the second one to have 2 shadows instead of 1. Has anyone else experienced this issue or have any ideas on how to resolve it?Thanks in advance for your help! 

When attempting to open a file dialog (Import footage, Apply Animation Preset, select Render output are the crashes I have encountered so far), I get the crash dialog and (at least in 2024) the chance to save a file.  The save dialog also crashes, however, and in 2024 I no longer have the option of sending a crash report. Have uninstalled 2022 and 2023, have deleted my User prefs folder from Documents/Adobe/version/User Presets, and am absolutely dead in the water. Any ideas how I can get back to work?

When i launch after effects (on adobe and normally) it says it has crashed and i say safe mode and other stuff but when it starts to load it closes it self in like 2 seconds and i tried every option holded shift opened as admin and nothing worked this happened after i reinstalled it.

my PC: Hi, I've installed After Effects versions 24.1.1 and 24.6.1, but sometimes when I preview the project, hit play, or just work in the program, it closes with no reason. At first, I thought maybe I'm importing a heavy file like 4k and 8k, but it's not the case. I really need to get this project back! How do I restore this file? When I was doing this project, my power went out, I looked at the project notebook and it was empty, no autosaves

Random crashes and daily BSOD crashes.AE version 24.6.0 (24.6.1 crashed every time I opened Mocha Pro)Windows11 ver 10.0..22000Running latest version of Maxon Complete and Boris Sapphire. Hey After Effects gurus, I'm running into an issue whenever I try to use AE that's blocking my workflow on a M1 Macbook Pro. Whenever I create a new composition or open an existing one, I get this error that I can't dismiss if I click on the effects panel. The only thing I can do to is force quit the application.  I've tried reinstalling AE multiple times, starting in safe mode, deleting presets, delete any custom fonts I've installed, and even updated the operating system; nothing has fixed this issue.  What do we think gang, anything I'm missing here to get this solved? inb4 "don't use effects".

After Effects crashes more than anything I have ever worked with in my life. Including Windows ME. It crashes itself and sometimes the entire computer. It crashes multiple times for even small projects. The worst part is it has NO backup or automatic saving at all. I don't think to save as often because NONE of my other applications crash like this. The only thing I can think of is Ableton sometimes, but that stopped when I upgraded my RAM to 64 GB. That didn't help with Adobe After Effects at all. It still crashes on the regular, and when it does it takes 99% of my 64 GBs. It just happened because I tried to change an outside color on an Audio Spectrum effect. Come on. Anyways, whatever the crash reason is, it would help if After Effects had some auto saving feature in the background. Even Ableton does that, and honestly I've only needed it a couple of times. After Effects is so unstable I would say backup saves are a necessity.

Hello Adobe Support,I encountered a serious issue when working with After Effects over remote drives. The problem occurs when creating a project within a folder structure, then copying it to a NAS system at my company. After starting and saving the project, the file gets deleted without warning. Unlike Premiere Pro, where a path change error message is displayed, After Effects simply erases the project file, leaving it completely non-existent.To clarify, no plugins are installed in my After Effects setup.Please investigate this issue as it can lead to significant data loss.Best regards,Özgün Nurtas

An After Effects project I had been opening fine the last few months now will not open. It loads to 70% and then I get a Not Responding error. I have tried restarting my PC, installing earlier versions of After Effects, and Safe Mode. Any help? OS: Windows 11
