After Effects

Hello, I have a question to consult, I use the mouse to select the key frame, I want to get the value of these key frames. I tried it myself, but it kept showing no current context. I wrote that in the first step I get the active item through AEGP_GetActiveItem, in the second step I get the type of the item through AEGP_GetItemType, and in the third step I get the composition through AEGP_GetCompFromItem. In step 4 I get the active layer through AEGP_GetActiveLayer. In the fifth step I get the location attribute stream through AEGP_GetNewLayerStream. In step 6 I get the number of keyframes by AEGP_GetStreamNumKFs, and in step 7 I get each keyframe by iterating >AEGP_GetNewKeyframeValue. But when I run in AE, when I use the mouse to select the keyframe execution code to get the value of the keyframe, it shows an error such as no current context.

I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling, but that didn't fix it. Can anyone help me out?

Hey y'all, I'm really stuck.   This error keeps popping up for me and I have no idea how to solve it. It'll appear as I'm trying to play a sequence with an image in it. I made other sequences with images in them a few hours ago and rhey're all fine. But now when tryong to add anything new, it gives me this error and doesn't go away at all - no matter how many times I hit 'okay'. Any ideas?   Thanks!   Title edited by Mod.  

PLEASE HELP!!Usually when files have been moved, I simply cntrl+h on a file and locate it, then Ae relinks all the other missing files in the same folder or drive. Today this function stopped working and Ae only replaced a single file at a time. I don't know if this is a bug or if something changed with the latest update. This is driving me nuts! THANKS FOR YOUR HELP! 

I have no idea what this is but whenever i press ^ (the caret) i get this window? And i don't know how to disable it.

When I add the twixtor effect, my clip just fades out between the middel keyframe and the last one.

I exported the project from premiere pro to after effect. That's how he started to look( 1 screenshot)/ pre compose 1 Only it wasn't Then I selected everything and made a pre-compose(pre-comp 1) and put 2 adjustment layers on top Then I opened pre-comp 1 and wanted to continue working with layers, but none of the superimposed effects were displayed, and if I do a pre-compose of fragments inside pre-comp1 (1 screenshot) and go inside, it shows the entire video track as a whole and not a fragment)как видите здесь, на 4-м скриншоте, в превью есть еще одна картинка, это не видео, поэтому я не могу его показать, но по факту это не фрагмент, который я отправил на прекомпозицию, а весь видеорядИсправление. If I enable video preview to one of my two desktop monitors for any project with any codec and color depth, the display is upside down. It's not a system or driver problem. On Windows 11, lastest release version (but it's done since 2024 beta but never fixed), latest Studio drivers RTX 2080Ti AE 2022: Works as expectedAE 2023: Works as expectedAE 2024: Flipped (all releases)AE current Beta: Flipped. Turning off GPU acceleration fixes problems. I also have BlackMagic Intensity card to external OLED but this does not work in Adobe apps anymore expect pre 2021 releases. Deleting caching and prefs don't do a damn thing nor does reinstalls. Clearly a bug. I expected it to be fixed in the releases but it has not.

I am not very good with technology terms so i apologise on how little detail i can provide however i have recently used After Effects 2020 v17.0 on my computer and it has been running perfectly fine until around 2 days ago. An error came up saying that the audio conforming had failed perhaps due to disk space. After this, around a minute or two later, the application closed completely with no crash notice. After trying to restart the application it would not open and was stuck on 'Initizialising MediaCore' before then crashing again, also with no crash notice. I have not since been able to reopen the application except for one time where it abruptly crashed again before i had the chance to do anything. Ive looked online and tried everything i could see including renaming files, resetting my preferences, removing plug-ins etc yet nothing seems to have worked. Good afternoon Everything was fine, but after the latest update to After Effects, errors like the inability to convert Unicode characters began to constantly pop up when starting up. Yes, everything worked fine. It also doesn’t work in the “do not show compatibility errors at startup” settings, windows still pop up saying it is impossible to convert Unicode characters... Situation: 1. Artist runs script on mac that creates corner pin data into a text file. 2. Text file has Unix (LF) line break characters3. Notepad on windows 11 now recognizes these. 4. Attempt to copy paste data into AE Layer5. AE refuses to patse becasue it is looking for Windows (CRLF) line breaks. 6. Spend a few hours scratching your head as to why your keyframe data won't paste. 7. Fall down deep rabbit hole  Workarounds:Drag txt file into Chrome and then copy paste from there seems to be the easiest. 

I have a composition that is 2160x3840 and I am trying to render out an .h264 with a VBR target bitrate at 100mbs. When it renders out, the resolution has been changed to 1296x2304 The Render settings are at "Best" quality and "Full" resolution Is this a bug or are my render settings forcing a resolution downgrade for some reason?

I’m on a MacBook Pro 2023Apple m3 pro chip18 gbs RAM (… the minimum rec)1 tb SSD Sonoma 14.5 Basically… I will be working along, auto save will periodically pop up, and then sometimes I’ll see that there hasn’t actually been a save in hours. Other times application memory warning will pop up at almost 110 gbs and the app will stop responding. I close out, clear cache, mess with settings, uninstall, reinstall, nothing seems to solve this frustrating problem. I lost a whole day of progress today, even when I swore it saved earlier. The auto-save folder will say the time of the most recent save, but when I open it there is no save file with a corresponding time of save. It’s just so bizarre I can’t seem to find much on forums about this. I'm not doing anything that i thought was too intensive, besides basic layer compositing.

After Effects versions (since forever) to 24.4.0 ........ long menu pickers don’t scroll with the mouse wheel.  The only option is to click and hold the up/down triangles which are very slow (8 lines/items a second on average).  Doesn’t matter where the menu is - in an effect chooser, or even when parenting in a comp with many layers. Other interface components in After Effects respect the scroll wheel (effects list, project panel, comp layers, etc.) - please fix this so menu list pickers use the mouse scroll wheel. 

Working with AE more for the last year there are a lot of strange things about it. Performance is generally not great, even on a fast machine and it seems to be irractic when it runs well and when it does not. No other apps open, sometimes improves, other times no difference.However, one of the more odd things is the app steals focus and will not let it go. I have to move dialog boxes to my other monitor to continue working.  Cleaning Cache often takes a very long time and both the preferences screen and the progress screen refuse to hide, remaining on top of all applications. Why? No other app does this. How is this not a bug? 

After Effects is constantly giving me the low memory warning, I have a Mac M1 with 64 gigs of RAM.  After Effects has always been a memory hog but this is ridiculous! I am using Particular, maybe this is contributing to the issue.  I clear the cache constantly, but still do not have memory cleared up for previewing. So, seeing the green lines to show, cached frames is not accurate, sometimes these do not show and do not update.  I also get warnings at launch that my cashe does not have enough space, but there is enough space, I have 90 gigs of cash allocated and I have 150 gigs available on my hard drive. Why does this keep happening? 

The Wave Warp plugin breaks down when larger sine waves are used - it almost appears to use a raster map to distort an image instead of procedural math.   Been like this for several decades, finally getting around to asking for it to be fixed.  Doesn’t matter what bit depth the project is in - this happens with 8, 16 bit etc.. at Best layer quality (though it looks like Draft, doesn’t it?)  And antialiasing in the effect is already at High.   View below is actually zoomed out, not in despite how pixellated / chunky it looks.

Pretty sure it happens on every Windows device. I personally had this bug happen on at least 5 different Windows devices and 2 were my own PCs with different hardware. Happens on Windows 10 and 11. This never happens in Premire, Photoshop, Illustrator, all other Adobe apps work fine. Only After Effects goes to windowed mode and only when the project is opened from outside AE.

When setting up Adobe Color Managed, AE remembers your project settings after closing AE and re-opening a new project.   When you set AE to OCIO managed and pick ACES 1.3 Studio config, close AE and reopen, a new project defaults to the first option in the list ACES 1.2 with no working and output space selected.     Running latest beta build as of this post but this behavior existed ever since OCIO's implementation I believe.

Hello gang, I'm surprised that no one has caught this or mentioned it, or maybe it's not been that important to note. But I make a lot of templates and utilize a lot of music/sound effects in my templates. These layers are all controlled vie expresions and conditional statements so I don't have to click around so much and turn on/off layers.I noticed that when I write expressions on audio layers and hit the keyboard shortcut (U,U) to reveal the expressions, it does not work on the audio property like it would on any other object property.Is this a bug or intentional?

Is absolutely annoying that every 2 days you have to be updating your apps, just send a pak weekly for the updates.Ae is glitching with effects after the latest updatePs for some reason after the update is having conflict with the prompts for the generative fill and do whatever it wants.  

How to fix "unknown exception" in After Effects?Every time I open this message appears non-stop several times regardless of the project.

If i try to open up an .mxf file it will shut down After Effects. I can't open other projects that contains .mxf files.
