After Effects

Hello,  Using After Effects 2020 for some reason the keyboard shortcuts for "I" (go to layer in point) and "O" (go to out) don't work. I've tried manually setting it in the shortcut config, i've tried resetting the preferences and it still doesn't work. Is it a known bug or am i forgetting something or not doing something right?   Thank you

I can't find any deatilled answers for this. What have: a 4k 16:9 music video What I want to do: Put this video in a VR space, preferably, the video is playing behind and in front of the user to there is little stretching. I also want to be able to preview what this look like in 360 space, so i can drag around to simulate was the end product will look like. What I have tried: Creating a 2:1 composition, adding my video to this comp, and applying the 'plane to sphere effect' Image of what im left with attached.   

Hi using a mac. Just updated it to Sonoma 14.0. After I updated it, i connected my HDD formatted in Extended Journaled.  My after effects project files were opening through after effects v23.6.  I am unable to save changed i make to these files since this error is appearing -File Couldnt be open for writing: /filepath ( 3 :: 0 ) The only way i am able to use the save feature on after effects is to 'save as' the file on my desktop. this is not sustainable for me as i barely have any space on my system disk and hence need help with the issue.I have around 4 TB space on my HDD where i want to save.  This is across all after effects files on my HDD and not file specific issue.  I have checked the entire path's permissions and everything is read and write. I have checked the application after effects and its permissions are also read and write.  I have shut down and turned on my computer.  I have checked name extensi

I get this pop up everytime After Effects starts up.  I'm on a 2019 iMac running macOS 11.2.3 with the latest version of AE 18.0.0 It seems plugin or script related, because it showed up when I copied all my Plug-ins/Presets/Scripts folders over from my After Effects 2020 folder to the new 2021 folder. 

Hello, I need an expression while linking the rotation and position peramiters of two 3D plains to follow to each other. How can I displaice one plain by a single pixel so it doesn't clip in to the other?   Many thanks.

In After Effects - I have tried all sugestions that was posted in the community, but nothing worked - can some help I get an error message as 'Analysis solve failed' and then '3D Camera Tracker Layer Size must match composition and use default transform values' I have also attached screenshot of error message. Request some support.

I have been on After Effects 25.2 for a while and finally made the jump so I can get that sweet layer offset control that got added. However, an unexpected result is that I am now getting an error message when starting up the program. I've not had Plexus as far as I can remember, maybe at some point long in the past but I definitely have not used it in years and years, I don't own it. I tried installing a demo of Plexus both via Rowbyte's site and AE Scripts, but both installations resulted in the same thing, error persists. When looking at my Library Application Support folder, there is no Plug-ins folder inside my Adobe Common folder. Any thoughts on how I can solve this? It doesn't seem to be impacting the program at all, but every time I launch it this shows up. I am not having this issue on my laptop at home, it's unique to this machine. I keep both machines very evently aligned as far as plugins goes, so if I had at some point installed Plexus here I would hav

I would like to know if there is another option or workaround I can try.Here is what I’ve already attempted:"Show Layer Controls" is activated.Pre-composing the layer and applying the tracker afterward.Making the layer 3D and then applying the tracker.Any help would be greatly appreciated.    

Hello, I wonder if anyone could help me. I want to add footage as a texture to the surface of an extruded 3D shape layer. For example, if I have some footage tilted in a 3d plain I can extrude elements from within the footage.  Many thanks.

I would like to create a credit roll in AE in which cast members are listed as actor <separator> role pairs, with all pairs horizntally centered and aligned on the separator (probably an ellipsis, but I haven't decided yet). Is there a way to do this without manually shifting each line to get the separators to line up? AE does not seem to have a sophisticated tab feature. And if I did resort to manually shifting each line, what would be the best way to d it?

While i was the program suddenly forze, blocking all my computer and forcing me to restart the pc by holding the power button. After that event every time that i try to just open the app my computer stops working: the screen goes completly black and unresponsive, without any blue screen or error pop ups. Even if i manage to close the app before the screen goes black the computer stops working, freezing on my desktop. The crash is not even reported in a Crash log (the log folder for the version 25.4 is empty) I work on an Asus Vivobook pro 15, Windows 11 on the latest version, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 laptop GPU, processor Intel core ultra 7 155H. Everything is updated to the most recent version.

I'm trying to start off small with house mapping. I have a video I made and would like to project it on the door from the side. I can not figure out how to warp the video so it looks flat against the door. I have looked at tons of how to videos and found nothing I can learn from.Can someone help me or if you know a simple how to video that would be great..

Hi AE wizards!I am trying to create a simple lowerthird .morgrt with the top text layer and bottom text layer in one text box. So when people use the template to change the text, the text box will resize accoring the whichever text line is longer. Text is left aligned and the height of the box is fixed so only the width needs to adjust to the right. Font size is also not adjustable.     I am familiar with the below expressions for a single text layer. I have animated a particular layers 'position' in one comp. and I want to copy paste those keyframes and want exactly same movement in another comp's another particular layer. Hello. I've just installed After Effects on a new work computer, and I'm having issues getting the Preview window to play or show anything (see images below - the second one is where I have taken it off full screen then made it full screen again). The preview doen't show when not playing, and doesn't play at all. If I have music and play, I can hear the music play but the timeline won't keep moving along. I've tried all the usual stuff (purge cache, uninstall/reinstall, change system setting to be adjust for best appearance, etc.) but nothing has worked.The audio only has one driver (MME) and doesn't give me the ASIO or any other option. I can export and render without any issues, and when the cursor is over the preview area, the preview tab tells me the info about what is there (where the cursor is). Also, After Effects always freezes on exit, and I have to force quit it (I presume this is related some how?).  Thanks

Create a shape and turn the path into bezier points.2.) Selected the new path and toggled points follow nulls.Instead of the nulls appearing in its own layers, they appear in the effects tab instead. Managed to do it correctly before with the nulls showing up, but I don't really understand how it might be appearing in the effects tab instead.  Any help would be appreciated, thanks! 

When exporting a video in After Effects 2025, is there a way to reduce the file size without changing the canvas size? I tried lowering the bitrate, but it still says the file size will change when I export it. Why is this?

Hi, I want to loop the start and end of trim path but randomly for each line.. like line 1 start it's loop at 2 second, line 3 at 4 second. and none of them will overlap with one another's animation timing, I mean suddenly line 2 start its loop and line 3 and line 1 are not looping, again when line 1 looping line 2 and 3 not animating. . they will happen solo at their own time. And I want this to continue for as long as the main comp goining on, say 20 second, each line will be in a loop but different timing... . How can I write the expression? Thank you.
