Audition

Hi, I'm very new to Audition.  I can't figure out why my 2nd track (purple) is overshadowing the 1st track (green) However you can still see a small bar of the green track on top. I've tried putting empty tracks in between, but that doesn't work.I've also tried re-importing and switching which is 1st and 2nd. I'm sure the solution here is probably quite simple, but I have no idea... 🙃 

I am editing audio and want to hear just the selection I've made on the time-line over and over again. I have stumbled across this before but now I can't locate how to play it on a loop.

After an update everything basically stopped. Mouse scroll options, and all scrollers, won't work or just decrease by themselves. Zoom bar also just goes left when zoomed. Can't change any number indicators, or apply effects. Have restarted and downgraded a couple of times but nothing helps. System is Win 10. Any idea what the problem is?

Hi there! To my tremendous joy I just discovered that some 300 flac files from my audio library are wrong-coded in terms of left and right channel 😞 I would know how to fix this file by file (channelmixer), but is there some proper »batch solution« for this instead? Thanks a lot –Klaus

Hello all, Is it possible to delete just ONE action from the history panel without losing all the adjustments I made afterwards? WORKFLOW: I need to edit audio files in waveform view. I edit some voice overs, getting rid of mouth sounds and breathes etc. At one point I listen back to the file and notice an adjustment I made that I'd like to undo. However, I've made edits after that that I'd like to keep. I would like to go back to that particular edit and get rid of that without losing my other edits.  So far it won't let me! And it's seriously slowing down my work flow! I have to redo everything again and sometimes I don't even remember what I did. The history panel is right there - I'm sure there's a way around this that I'm just not seeing - otherwise there is a serious flaw in this otherwise good system.  Any thoughts? Thank you

I've created a favorite that I use on all my voice recordings and it works really well. I would like to add an additional effect, a slight noise gate, at the end of the list in that custom favorite. Is this possible, or do I have to start all over by recording a new favorite? Thanks for anyone who can answer this!

Hi everyoneWhen I open a multitrack project, the original signal on track 1 for example has a correct level but the master comes with a few dbs less.Both the master and the track are at 0 dbs, so I don't understand where the difference comes from.I appreciate any advice to review it.Thank you

I export a 10 minute multitrack soundfile to mp3 at least once a day.  As it encodes, it gives the percentage finished and the time remaining. Without fail, the encoding proceeds rapidly up to 50%, and then goes REALLY SLOWLY up to 75%, and then finishes quickly. I can't figure this out. I am using a 12" 2017 MacBook, MacOS 10.15.6, Audition 13.0.8 (all latest updates). With the Media Encoder, I switched it over to use "all software" encoding, since that was faster than allowing it to use "hardware acceleration" (which was the suggested setting), though I cannot find this setting in Audition.

I just opened Audition, and I found out all settings, recent files, favorites, presets, etc. have been reset to factory default by themselves.Is there a way to recover my settings? Why did this happen? Thanks

After a Windows update, I found I was unable to record my vocals. A friend helped me and discovered that if I go into Audio Hardware preferences I could switch from MME to ASIO and it worked fine... but now there is now playback audio. I now have to record in one mode, then switch to the other to hear it. Must be a setting, right? Anybody?

I recorded a twenty minute vocal-only waveform for an instructional video. During that 20 minutes I know that I spoke too fast at some points and too slow at others, and would like to have a steady rate of speech throughout. Is there any function that allows one to visually see the rate at points throughout the recording to then use the Stretch and Pitch process on the necessary sections? Or maybe there is a process that matches the rate like one can match the loudness? Any help is very much appreciated. 

I have changed nothing since using Audition yesterday and suddenly today there is an echo/lag when I record. I'm running a MAC with an Apollo Twin. I downloaded the updaye from Apollo and the problem persists. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hello! I’ve been using adobe audition 2020 for a month and suddendly the timeline started to have some lag when it was playing. The first time this happened I had lots of effects and thougth it might be because of my PC (8gb RAM, i3 9gen, gtx750) so I tried creating a new project and as soon as i recorded the first áudio it started lagging again so I dont think my pc is the problem Although the timeline is lagging the áudio is smooth and ok but its really frustrating working like that (no vision, just audio)The only place where i dont have lag its in the waveform. Does anyone knows how to fix this? Or is it because of some random update that might have been done automatically (cause I didnt do none by myself)?? Thanks

This is just something that has been happening lately and I have no idea how to fix it. 1. When I start to select a portion of the file, I single click within the file and it will then immediately select the entire file. I will usually have to click several times to get it back to the selection and sometimes I will be able to select a small portion of the file and sometimes it will suddenly select the full file.2. As I'm dragging over the file, sometimes it will immediately select a small portion of the area I was selecting instead of the entire area. If I drag the mouse when this happens, it will select a different part of the selected area and sometimes select an area in front of or behind the area I'm trying to get to. I can still use Audition, but it is making things incredibly frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.

After installation of Windows 7 x64 on a new SSD, and after all Windows updates - sans some draconian anti-malware updates issued after January 14, 2020 - I installed Adobe Audition 3.0.  This is all I need for AMATURE music manipulation.  But, for some reason, on my latest incarnation of Windows 7, Adobe Audition 3.0 won't open.  I get a useless error code:  0xc0000022.  I have tried several fresh installations of Windows 7 after formatting the HD each time.  I tried installing AA3 before and (separately) after fully updating W-7.  I just can't get AA3 to open.FYI:  I purchased Cool Edit many moons ago.  Adobe gave me Adobe Audition 2.0 at the time they purchased Cool Edit.  Then when Windows 7 was released, Adobe gave me a copy of the then old version of Adobe Audition...version 3.0.  I have used it and installed it on fresh reformatting of Windows 7 ever since (when I upgraded PCs, etc.).  I am 75 years old, retired, and ca

This has to be a common thing...?At 2.95  3.73  5.71 There are throat clicks. So more of a "thunk" then a "click" Fairly common in my recordings. I can go to spectral display, highlight them and auto heal to remove them. But is there a faster way to remove these. I have Nectar 3 and iZotope Elements. Don't know if one of those can help.Any ideas, I would appreciate your time. Tnx

Hello,So I used to be able to replace / relink clips from the files panel, into multitrack, by dragging from the files panel then holding down Alt over the clip I want to replace. But that's not working for me anymore. Is there a setting that needs changed? It was an essential part of my workflow, and I can't find any documentation about it anywhere. Thanks!

HI, I'm using Audition/Creative Suite 2020.  I'm trying to record some LP's directly into Audition.  My turntable only has RCA hookups, so I'm using a  VIDBOX converter to connect it to my comnputer via USB.  However, Audition is recording the audio through the microphone, not the USB.  I'm fairly positive my iMac does NOT have a "line in" connection.  IS there a way for me to hook this up and have Audition recognize it?  Right now I'm recording it with the VIDBOX app and importing it, but if possible I'd like to eliminate that step.

When I try to close mp3 files, the file will not close, and I get the message Not Responding. Please advise as to what to do.
