Hi - not too sure if this post goes here.I bad audio quality so I googled. I pretty much know what most of the problems are BUT I would still like to get feedback from the community. My wife says she's not spending 200+ euros on equipment when we have audacity that can "solve" everything. I need you guys to back me up.So...I plug my USB BOYA lav mic into my MacBook. The sound quality is crap. Just doesn't sound good.I KNOW about soundproofing so that's not the problem.Googling - I see that I need an audio mixer or audio recorder + a good mic + decent sound proofing. My questions:A need a lav mic for various reasons: Should I get an XLR mic instead of USB mic?Audio mixer: I don't use instruments - it's for teaching English: Have you got any recommendations? I need great sounding audio.AUDACITY: For post production. What would I use it for if the mic and the mixer do their job properly?
Just uopdated to Auditino 2020 I have got the following problem: When listening to anything else than microphones on my sound card RME UFX the Audition cuts off the signal to my loudspeakers on the board while at the same time tjere is no input signal to be recorded.I have loaded my normal presets on the sound board. What have I done to Audition?ThankS!
HiI recently used Adobe Audition for recording and it seemed to work fine. The level bars? on the bottom and the sound waves looked ok to me. But when I played it I couldn't hear anything. The exported file has no problem. It plays fine. And so does the computer's sound system. The only thing not working is the playing sounds in the program.I also tried changing the output speaker in 'audio hardware' but there was only one speaker in option and so I couldnt change it.Please help me...
Hi, I have just tried to record some voiceovers in Adobe Audition and I'm finding that the recording starts off ok and then becomes distorted. Audio Hardware device class is set to MME, recording on a Samsung Meteor mic. No problems with this setup before today. I'm not sure if this helps but I'm using a Windows 10 laptop. Any pointers would be gratefully received 🙂
I've been using Audition for a few months to record VO without an issue. However for some reason today I am not getting any levels registering in my multitrack session. I run a Shure microphone into a MixPre 3-II and from there into the Mac Pro via USB. The meters are registering audio on the MixPre and in the Sound prefrences inputs so sound is making it from the mic into the computer but not into Audition. The default input is set to MixPre 3-II. Audio Channels are mapped to the MixPre. On the track the Default Input is selected and red R button is pressed. There hasn't been an OS update to my system and the security permissions for the mic is open. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've hit a wall with this.
Hello,I often find myself saving smal snippets from my larger multitrack project and going to export/time selection.I'm wondering if there is a shortcut to get to time selection or to render that. Thank you in advance.
Hello, First of all, I want to excuse for my englisch as I'm a non native speaker. Now to the problem. I'm using Adobe Audition to enhance my voice for online chat programs like Discord using the effects rack.I also created some racks to modify my voice in a creative manner, like making a real deep voice, earrape effects or a scary voice. As I want to use this while gaming, it would be nice using a hotkey to switch between the different effects. However, I didn't find anything to make this work. Is it possible to assign hotkeys to certain effects racks and if not, is there a workaround for this. Thx in advance
HiI am having issues wiht my computer when i try to download Adobe audition.it shows "update requirired" but i dont know how to upgrade the computer and get access to Audiuton. The wesbite is not giving me any option to talk to teqnical support either.I am using a Macbook Air 2015.HELP PLEASE !!!
I am new to Adobe Audition and I am trying to record podcast interviews. When I record the session, my audio is recorded, but the interviewee's audio is not being recorded. Below is my set-up, I am using a USB mic and the first time I tried it, everything worked great. I must have done something different, but can't figure out what it is.
Hi all, I did a simple mix of a couple of tracks. The volume of the tracks sounds great while I'm editing in the working session, but once I export the mixdown, the audio volume is significantly lower. What's happening? Is it my export settings?
We often mix different promo versions. Does anyone know how to copy track effects from one session to another?
Just that...to repo: MP4 Video [Sounds normal] > Open in Audition [Sounds normal] > File Export > File > Format MP3 / 48000 Mz Mono, 32-bit , 192Kps, CBR The resulting MP3 all of the spoken audio comes out with this tinny sound here. I've played with a few settings and I'm not seeing anything here that is helping.

Hi, recently adobe audition seems to always revert the flac export setting to 24 bit, so I have to change it literally every time I export a track. This didn't used to be the case. Is there a setting I'm missing to get it to keep to the last used export settings?
Hello my friends! So, sometimes when I hold CTRL+scroll wheel in my multitrack it zooms in, which I like. Other times, it just expands the size of the track height.I don't like having to slide up to the scrubber bar to zoom and lose my place in the edit. Can I get it to zoom in while CTRL+Scrolling over the tracks all the time? Many thanks.
We just released BeatEdit for Adobe Audition! Just like its siblings, BeatEdit for After Effects and BeatEdit for Premiere Pro, it detects beats in your music and generates markers for them. This means you can easily match the tempo of two songs, edit your music, and seamlessly loop tracks – all with just a few clicks. More Infos of BeatEdit for Audition Free for Bundle Owners! Good news if you already own the BeatEdit bundle (which until now just contained BeatEdit for After Effects and BeatEdit for Premiere) - you can get a free license of BeatEdit for Adobe Audition. Just place BeatEdit for Audition in the shopping cart here – making sure you’re logged in with the customer account you used to purchase the bundle – and the price should automatically update to $0. Hi! I apologize but I don't really know how to describe this question accurately since I don't know the terminology.I have an audio file, a track. I selected and deleted the errors in the track. There are now spaces/gaps throughout the track. I would like to get rid of all those spaces, or gaps. How do I do this? I sure hope that I don't have to move each remaining chunk of audio over to butt up where it should be...When I search for help I come up empty because I know I'm not using the right words to describe what I want to do. Condense? Compress? Contract? Ha. ...Hopefully a human can understand what I mean! Thanks!
Suppose I have a multitrack session in Adobe Audition CC 2017. Suppose there are many files loaded into the multitrack session, but there are several unpredictable gaps in between them (such as in the following image):Is it possible to quickly and easily remove all gaps between clips in a multitrack session so as to achieve the same effect of "ripple deleting" every single gap in between each pair of clips? I'm just looking for an easy to way to go from that to this:Is there any shortcut to delete all of this space that I don't know about? Basically I just want all of my clips "snapped" up against each other in the same order, simply without the extra time in between.
I've got a file that contains only noise at the end. Investigating the FFT of this noise part is very important for me. If I select those last 2 seconds of this 16kHz/16bit/mono WAV file (plain PCM without any compression) I get this FFT: If I now copy these 2s and paste them into a new file (File->New->Audio File) with the exact same parameters (16kHz/16bit/mono WAV) and let the FFT run again on this new file, I get the exact same frequency response. Which is like it should be.However, if I now save this newly created file, close it in Auditon and reopen it, there is a strange amplification for higher frequencies (blue line in the below FFT window). Is there any setting I could change to prevent this? The "Smooth delte/cut boundaries...." and "Smooth all edit boundaries..." checkboxes under Edit->Preferences->Data are already unchecked, but without any change in the reported behavior. I'm using version 13.0.10.32 on Win10 Thanks
im using the ID3 editor to edit the title name of a song, but for some reason when i vew the file in windows explorer the title hasnt changed. eg i created a new song with the title "3.4 1-runtime-error.rx2[Trimmed]" https://i.imgur.com/q5AeAQ7.png but when i view this song in windows explorer the title is still the same as original https://i.imgur.com/Ofzzuvi.png
I recently completed a 20 minute podcast, and noticed as I scrolled back to the beginning that Auditions seem to be adding these cross-crossing, arcing yellow lines over segments of the track. Now it sounds like the narration is duplicated, but not perfectly, over these sections. What am I doing wrong and how do I get rid of these tracks? I rerecorded this podcast three times now hoping that I don't repeat whatever is causing that, and it's getting very frustrating. I can't find good support for this software online, and when I post things here, very few people actually respond. There's got to be a better way to learn how to use this program. Please help me. I would sure appreciate it.
I have a big collection of WAV audio files with markers and metadata (artist, title, year, album, etc...) attached to them. I would like to get rid of the markers using a batch operation in Audition, but keep the rest of the metadata. Audition doesn't let me keep the rest of the metadata of the file when I delete the markers: using the checkbox upon saving it is either letting me 'include markers and other metadata' or not, but never seperate the two. Is there a better way to do this in batch? Thank you for your input!
Slightly specific question, but I'm having trouble recording a multitrack session using my Zoom H6 as an audio interface. Rather than being able to isolate each mic to its own channel, it's putting both into one. Might be more a question for the Zoom forums but thought I'd check here.
Hello, Frequency automation curve scale should not be linear but logarithmic. For example if you want to modulate a HighPass filter cutoff freq., you would need a much more detailed scale between 30 and 300 Hz than between 3000 and 3300. This kind of scale is necessarry for all frequency curve. But Audition only proposes linear scales. In fact, to be consistent Audition should able to adapt the curve to the needed content (freq. scale, ratio, %,etc.), Actually, automation curves are quasi impossible to use appart from volume. Best regardsRoland
