Audition

I'm using Adobe Audition for the first time.I have created a multitrack soundscape story  - my dialogue and other sound tracks and then exported it as a wav file.I now want to replace the dialogue with a better one, with pauses in the right place. It seems this is not possible. Is that correct? Do I have to start all over again?

I am running a dynamic microphone through Behringer Xenyx 1204 USB mixer which is connected to my PC through USB.  When I record my voice into audition it's full of static and sounds like I'm in a can.  I've made alterations to the "audio hardware" under "preferences".  Please help.

Hello! I am having trouble with my finished product sounding muffled for the first word after I mixdown. There is music playing at the intro. Everything sounds great when I play it back prior to making the mp3, but once it's completed, the final file consistently muffles the first word on each recording. How do I fix this? Thank you kindly.

I'm using Adobe Audition 1.5 with Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface. I can set the input to Scarlett OR output to scarlett and it works perfectly but if I set both input and output to the Scarlett Adobe freezes and gives an error saying another program may be using the same device, but there is no other program running.  This means that I can't use it for recording. I have to use my stand alone multitracker and then play each track in turn into adobe audition which is very time consuming.Is there a way around this problem or is this just a limitation of this old version of Adobe Audition?Any help will be much appreciated.

Specifically i need a light that comes on when Audition is actually recording, but goes off when stopped OR paused in record mode. From what little I know, I think I'm right in saying Audition uses the HUI protocol to send this kind of information to DAW controllers, but I have no idea how to "read" that information to be able to do something useful with it. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Well I've exported my sequence from Premiere and am slowly trying to work with the audio in Audition without pulling my hair out.  The biggest problem I have is the lack of ability to copy effects applied to one clip and paste over other multiple clips.  I figured if this was possible in Premiere it should e in Audition, but sadly it is not.  The best I could do is save a preset...is that the only option?  And can I apply a saved preset to multiple clips?    Most of all I like to run normalize and reverb effects to several clips at a time, but geez not being able to do this makes me just want to do it all in premiere and only edit a clip in Audition one at a time if absolutely needed.    Seems like Audition has some features it could really use before it is efficient for production work.  In Protools I can use alt+shift drag to copy to other clips.

I'm new to Audition and to multitrack recording. I'm making some cover songs and it's really annoying everytime I switch to waveform to edit an audio track, I have to go into the audio hardware setting to change the device class from ASIO to MME in order to hear playback. Then I have to switch back to ASIO in multitrack to continue working on my song. Is this normal and is there a way to not having to switch back and forth? Thanks for any help.

So I have an older computer. I was having some recent problems saving audio to mp2 format, so I decided that I was just going to uninstall the program and reinstall. Problem is, my computer is old and none of the Creative Cloud apps are now compatible. So I cannot restore my version of Audition (I don't remember what version it actually was). I am running Windows 8 after all. Lol. I know I need a new computer, but everything was working fine until recently. Now I can't use the one program I use on a daily basis. ugh. Suggestions?

The Audition tutorials say to find Preferences (for audio input, etc.) under the "Adobe Audition CC" tab. I can see it next to the Apple in the tutorial vid. But I'm on Windows and the tab is not there! Where do I find it and how can I get it to the top menu bar so it's easily accesible?Thanks!

I uploaded a sound WAV file to Creative Cloud, but I can't click on it an play it. Shouldn't I be able to play it? And also, shouldn't I be able to share it to anyone via a link in an email? How do I do that?Thank you!

When I create a new multi-track session after working on a .wav file, the session always defaults to 10 minutes, and my clip inserts as a tiny sliver way out at the end, regardless of where I place the time marker. This is not the case if I first create a multi-track session, and then import that exact same clip from my desktop into the session.

Hi everybody.This might be Windows user problem, or (probably) a Waves problem, but maybe somebody here has had this issue.I bought the Waves Masters set with L2 limiter and a couple other for EQ and Compression.Audition finds the waves under VST3 in the menu, but it displays them so tiny you can't read what the threshold is set to.  Maybe with a magnifying glass.  On Reddit I read Waves only works at 1600x1050 (or something like that).  My Dell XPS 15 says it recommends 3840x2160, so I changed my display to 1600x.., restarted Audition and there was no change, L2 still tiny and now my mouse cursor is an inch tall.  So I changed it back.  I admit I am not an expert in Windows 10.  I couldn't find any posts here about this, which leads me to think people don't have this problem. Has anybody seen this?

Good afternoon. Recently, whenever I go to the multitrack mixer, and try to add preset effects to a track, I get a box that informs me that the preset failed to load properly. Am I missing something?   Thanks.

Hi, I've recently purchased a mixing board for some audio work. I am probably somewhere south of beginner with regards to my expertise here. I've plugged a mic into my mixing board through an XLR, which is subsequently connected to my Mac through USB. I'm recording voice through the mic into Adobe Audition no problem, and I can record multiple inputs onto different tracks no problem as well.  However, Audition is not responding to my mixing board as I am recording. For example, even if I press mute on my mic input on the mixing board while I'm recording, the audio going into the recording on Audition is unaffected. It is as if the mic is playing directly into the laptop.  Is there any obvious solution to this? I have only just downloaded Audition, so the settings are pretty much untouched. Thanks  

I can't find anyway to rename the tracks/clips that I bring into file view, once they're been imported. Is there anyway to do this?At the moment in File view, I have multiple lines all with "Untitled" names (as that's what they were called before being imported) and it's a mess. How do I rename them once inside the File view??

Hi, all.  I just started working with Adobe Audition to mix a simple music project.  Looking for some guitar effects, I stumbled onto a Plug-in by Soundtoys called Effects Rack.  I'm kinda new to this, but it's my understanding that my MacBook Pro running MacOS Catalina is a 64 bit OS and that Audition runs VST plug-ins.  Effects Rack is listed as a 64 bit VST plug-in, but Adobe Audition isn't listed as an "Offically Supported Host Applications."  The supported applicatiosn look like high-end processing apps, like Pro Tools.  So, ity looks like it should work with Audition, but it's an expensive product and I don't want to download it unless I can confirm it will work for me.  Can anyone advise?  I'd appreciate any insght. https://www.soundtoys.com/product/effect-rack/   Thanks!  

Hi!So im very new to AU and still learing how things work but... Anytime i play any mp3 audio track through Audition the track plays fine but keeps stopping  for about a second then starts again then continues to do this, all audio files work fine normally but this only happens when i play through Audition. Any help would be great!! 

We can make a pink noise by the software, but the crest factor is about -13dB. Can we make a pink noise which has -6dB crest factor without clipping or DC offset? It is a more often used signal in my daily work.

I imported some tracks in WAV format however they only play in my right ear upon playback.  Im trying to use this WAV files as backing tracks to music recording.  Any help on how to get stereo playback? Thanks!
