8 track film audio edit, soloing each track.  Yes, there is a decent amount of filtering but nothing crazy, simple dialogue right now.  Pre-Render is turned on.When I make a selection and go to wave from for a small edit everything goes epic upon return to multitrack.  The workspace spazzes out and takes many different forms and has to be reset after every round trip.  As well, it can be many seconds to start play again as "calculating play back" is shown.working on m2 Samsung Evo drive with plenty of space, 96 gigs ram, Realtek audio, 8 core e5 xeon processor, The same machine that I have done most all my audition work on with far fewer problems.

Hey guys, thanks in advance for your patience and concern.I'm not the most talented audio geek so bear with me please. My setup is Adobe Audition CC, a Focusrite Scarlett Solo USB Interface and the infamous ASIO4ALL on Windows 7 64bit.I am trying to record, as the title suggests, microphone input via my interface while simultaneously recording a skype call via the stereo mix. Usually Windows only allows one audio device to be selected at a time. Now I remember, from a couple of years back, when I was still using Cubase 4 LE that with ASIO4ALL there were work around for this issue. Hence I installed the driver again to split the input for the different audio track among devices as I used to. When I select ASIO4ALL in Audition I get nonsensical input channels to select however (at least I can't make sense of them). I added a screen capture below as well as the settings for the ASIO4ALL.If I remember correctly I was able to select the stereo-mix and mic input separately at that point in C

hello, i am totally new to this, so this might be a beginner question. i bought a microphone for my laptop and was superexcited to get started. i plugged in the usb cable and wanted to start, but adobe auditon tells me that the microphone is not functional. i have also switched the standard microphone from the integrated microphone to the new microphone. what can i do? does it simply not work for adobe audition?thanks

I recently bought a laptop, and while the size and layout of everything else in Audition is fine and clear, stuff with graphs like mastering is super tiny. How do I expand those windows?

Using Audition CC (2017)Hello all, yesterday I was in charge of filming a wedding, nobody was there to run sound so I brought my usual setup for recording audio, to make sure I could get the vows.I started the recording as normal, and once the ceremony had concluded I went back to my computer to end the recording and save and all that.When I returned I saw the recording was still going and it showed that it had been recording the whole time but today when I went to listen back to it, I found I only have the first 11 minutes.I can no longer find the vows or any of the important parts, this is on top of the fact that my camera memory card corrupted itself and after retrieving the video files I've found that the file with the kiss and exchanging of the rings is damaged as well, so now I have the Audio and video for the first half of this wedding but not any part that matters.Does anyone have any idea where the missing audio file may be?

I am a registered user of AA 3.0.1 using Win 7 Professional.  Recently, I have had difficulty in getting my Waves VST plugins (9.6 shell) to load (they disappearwhen scanning for other companies such as iZotope or Eventide).  I go back in and put the Waves folder to search from and then I get dialog boxes stating certain RX 6 tools won't load which were there before but at least my Waves show up.  If I start up AA holding down Shift, will that reset AA back to program defaults and if yes, might that solve my issue? Further, if I uninstalled and reinstalled AA 3.0, would the software key that came with the program allow me to register with Adobe?  Thank you for any help.

I created a multi track session with a few effects in the effects added to the "track effects" panel. The effects were rendered to the exported session, but not "applied" to the original waveform. After listening to the exported file, I wanted to adjust a reverb setting, but when I open the multitrack session I no longer see any multitrack effects listed in the track effects panel. The effects are clearly audible in the multitrack session window, and definitely not applied to the original waveform, but I can't find the effects so I can adjust them. I presume this is a user error on my part, so I'm hoping someone can advise me on how to re-enable the track effects display so I can edit them.thanks!

Hello! I am trying to edit my voice to sound similar to how the voice of the narrator sounds in this video from Saints Row IV, when it says "Shield at 66%." I'm unaware of what steps I should take to do this, however, because it sounds like there are multiple voices in the voice, and it's heavily distorted and robotic. I recorded some audio from an internet radio broadcast of sports game using OBS studio. The quality of the stream was not something that I could personally fix. The quality is good enough, but I still hear that "pixelated" background sound that you sometimes get with streaming radio on the internet, if that makes sense. It sounds like digital white noise. I'm not sure how else to describe it. I'm not sure if that's a product of the background noise from the crowd/audience, but I don't think it is.Is there a way to fix this issue on my end with Audition?

If you listen long enough you will notice that the same words are repeated. That's because the first time he says it is after me doing the noise reduction process in audition to it twice. The second time is the original file with now tweaks. It seems the only difference between the two is the edited version have a certain hollow or flanged effect to it, and it actually sounds worse.When I did the noise reduction process. these were most likely my settings:FFT size: 8192Spectral decay rate: 45%dB removed: 15 dBNoise reduction: 65% Though I have since experimented with them, but didn't get much better results. using Audition 3.0 in Windows 10......when opening Audition, getting "record not possible, sound card not compatible with DirectSound input".....using Yamaha AG06 USB interface .....have installed the drivers for both the AG06...AND....an ASIO4all (told that is a comprehensive driver) and already have Windows 3.0 Sound driver as a genericwhen using AG06 driver, Audition 3.0 WILL, in fact, record, but I cannot get play back........when using Windows 3.0 Sound driver, I GET playback from Audition (and other media on the PC), but CANNOT record in Audition.....when attempting use of the ASIO4all, I cannot get a "consensus" that allows me to record and playback on Audition while being able to continue hearing playback on other media......what should be a simple process has turned into a "who's on first?" I have not had to deal with in past installs, versions, etc......any clarity would be much appreciated.....thanx

Hello,I use audition 2017 on 2 different pc, one at work and one at homea particular effect (phone in essential audio) does not give at all the same rendering at home as at work.at home it seems to work well while at work this effect saturates thoroughly.Is this due to an audio card problem?audio cards are Realtek High Definition AudioThanks for those who may have an answer.

Trying to reinstall Audition (CS5.5) on another computer after other computer died, but it's not accepting the serial number from my license certificate. I think I remember hearing or reading somewhere that you first need to deactivate the software on one computer before trying to install it on another one. If that's the case, what can I do since the other computer crashed and there was no opportunity to deactivate Audition.Would greatly appreciate some help here!Jack (jwaters@salemhawaii.com)  

If I copy the mono channel 1 to ch.2. But it still have flat in the orchestra performance.What can I do in Audition software to make it have an stereo sound like playing "gradually"fade in and fade out?

I'm using a Mackie Onyx 1620 mixer where all my mics are going through to an Audition project. It reads each individual microphone but not any adjustments I make through the mixer. For example, it doesn't read any EQ changes such as bass, treble, frequency, or even volume adjustments. The mixer reads it but Audition doesn't. Can I adjust the sound before they go into Audition? If so, how can I get Adobe Audition to read those changes?This is probably an easy answer but can't figure it out  and can't find another post about this concern. IIf someone knows the trick or settings to use to make audition read the eq settings on my outside mixer, that'd be great.

Hello. I am looking for a workflow for editing a film. Not really a pro here. My sound guy sent me poly wave files of two labs and a stereo boom. I merged them in the project folder and then edited. Now I want to clean up the sound in Audition. What is the work flow? Should I send the merged files into Audition? Then how and more importantly where do I export them to have the changes go directly into the timeline? Is this possible. New to Audition, but i have a lot of clean up to do on this outside short. I filed a bug report on this, but I figured I'd post it here, as well.  The FFT Filter now nukes the last channel in any clip that has more than two channels in it.  This is a real annoyance for me, as batch-applying "Kill the Mic Rumble" is usually my first step in a film sound edit.Here are the steps to reproduce the bug:In the Waveform Editor, open a clip with more than two channels. Apply the FFT filterResults:As soon as the filter finishes processing, the highest numbered channel will become silenced.  Waveform and spectral display will now be blank for that channel, and no sound will be audible from it.Expected Results:All channels should simply receive the application of the filter.  None should end up silenced.Workarounds I can think of are:Split out to multiple mono files and apply the effect to eachIn the Multitrack Editor, use the filter in the effects rack, so that it doesn't have to be applied.Neither of these workarounds is a particularly good solution

I would like to keep my sounds organized. I am using an iMac as well as running Adobe Audition cc 2017.  Will Audition allow me to keep all of my sounds and music organized much like Adobe Bridge does for images? If not, will Bridge do that?Thanks

Hi there !I'm a new user of Audition, and I have some trouble with the shortcuts.I'm working on a french version of Audition with a qwerty keyboard, so I had to reassign some shortcuts.It worked in the editing screen, the shortcuts were reassigned correctly, when I pressed the buttons it's highlighted, showing me the software knows which button is assigned to which shortcuts and link both informations.But when I'm working on waveform ou spectral analysis, three of them don't work : the one I put on Q, E and A. (Fade In, Fade Out, and Erase the selection)I thought the reason was a conflict between the qwerty keyboard and the french software, but I tried to map Erase on X, still doesn't work. It deselect my selection and put the read head (I don't know if it's the true english word, but you get it ) at the beginning of my now erased selection.Fade in and fade out just does nothing.Does anyone have a solution with that issue ?Have a nice day !

Hallo,die von mir im CD-Editor zu jedem Track neu eingegebenen Titel erscheinen zwar auf dem Bildschirm, nach dem Brennen der CD werden jedoch nur "'Track 1...Track 2...." usw. angegeben. Dear readers,Recently I started working with Adobe Audition CC (AA) to make my radioreport. I am struggling to find a good workflow. Work I want:I have recorder about 100+ short audioclips. My audiodevice names these STM-001, STM-002, ect. these are all interviews, voiceovers, ect.To get started I organise my audio. Give parts of the fragment a name and a short subscription, (for example: speaker 1 "we cannot afford to build new houses"; speaker 2 "we need to build more houses"; Voice over 1: "problem with housing"; Voiceover 2: expensive houses", ect). Next I want to have all the selected fragments in one list. Now I can start building my reports in the multitracksession.The option I can find to do this in AA is with markers. But to see the markers I always need to go back to the waveform and look into all the original audioclips. I cannot find a way to put all the marked pieces into one list and open in while working in the multitrack window.An option is to export the all markers and

Installed new Marantz Pod Pack 1 and followed on-screen set-up prompts.  Audition recognized the mic and was able to record without issue our of the gate so to speak.  Playback however was not the desired result as it sounded hollow and without depth if that makes sense.  Struggling to believe it's a mic quality issue as there are many positive reviews online pertaining to the Pod Pack.  I'm going to guess I'm missing something in the settings or such.  Any coaching here would be appreciated.  Thank you in advance for taking a moment to share your expertise.Kevin
