Hi everyone,I bounce large quantities of mixdowns daily in Adobe Audition (CC 2017, 10.1.1.11), and need to find a way to edit the default naming conventions, specifically to remove the appended "_mixdown". It might seem trivial, but it would save me a lot of time if my default export name was exactly that of my session name, without "_mixdown". Can anyone help me? I recognize this may be an under-the-hood fix, but I don't know where to find the appropriate file to edit. Thanks all!J
Hello,My friend and I are thinking about starting a podcast, we will be buying a mixer and two microphones that run through it to make sure we are recorded on separate tracks. Now I am really new to Audition and I am fairly lost. I was wondering how I would make this work on Mac? So the two microphones plug directly into the mixer and then the mixer into my laptop. Once the mixer is plugged in, how do I make it so Audition allows me to record each microphone on its own separate track instead combining them into the same one?Thank you all!
Can people share how they deal with coughs? I do a lot of live audience recordings, and coughs are my biggest headaches.
I'm using Audition 1.5. With Windows 7. I'm trying to record audio from an audio cassette tape. I'm using line in and the sound is going to the computer speakers, but it will not record. I can import audio files into Audition and they will show a wave form and play. I have tried to use the Amplitude/Play effect. When I open the effects tab expand Amplitude and click on Amplitude/Fade, nothing happens. That tab is greyed out. Can you help me?Dick Brownjrbrown55@sbcglobal.net309/691-0606
Hello!I'm finishing up final audio adjustments for a video, and I'm running into a problem. When played back in Audition, everything sounds great and how I want it, but when I export back to Premiere my VST compressor doesn't affect the audio. I've tried exporting in several different formats, and exporting the "multi-track mixdown" to later import through Premiere but the same thing happened. Is there some way to export in real time to capture the effects? Or have I done something wrong? I have my narration side-chained to a separate, non-vst compressor if that could be causing the problem, but I don't think that's it. The VST compressor I'm using is the Focusrite Red 3 Compressor, which appears to be the only effect not working upon export. Thanks in advance for help, let me know if there's more information you need.-Sean
I have this annoying problem right now during my exam.... Audition freezes when i press play, like the whole program stops working. I´ve tried to restart bothe the program and my mac but id did not work at all. any ideas?
Every single time I open Audition, I get an error warning telling me that my previous session didn't close properly and I have to choose what to do. This is purely a minor irritant, but ignoring such things often leads to darker places ...When I close the application, everything seems ok. Everything seems to work as it should and, most importantly, my work works and I love using the app!Does anyone else have this bizarre issue and if so, does anyone know how to fix it?My system is:Mac Pro 5,1 3.33GHz 6-Core48GB RAMGTX 680 Mac (CUDA fully removed from system)OSX 10.10.5 YosemiteAdobe CC 2017 - fully updatedEverything works well on my entire system, just this odd glitch ...Thanks for any help.Best,Dominic
Good morning,It's June 12, 2017, I have the latest update (release mid May) and I'm trying to use Audition to clip a big track into small tracks, and the program has a 50% chance of crashing if I use markers and export everything at once. If I try to select an area and "Save selection as..." the program crashes every 2 or 3 repeated operations of doing so.Also, when I try to Match Loudness on a batch of files, the program crashes. Simply cannot do it.This is unsustainable, in my view, this software is not usable unless Adobe releases a fix. Here's my system:macOS Sierra 10.12.3 (16D32)MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5 8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MBUsing Harvest plugin for time tracking and using Dropbox. Turned both on and off in an attempt to fix it, but the problem persists.Pro Tools and Soundforge work just fine with both plugins on and batch processing these files. Thanks
I recorded an interview in a decent size office and the reverb is bad. Please let me know what I need to do to fix it.Thank you very much and have a great day.

Hello,I'm getting notifications that my Audition software has an available update. I get as far as getting the screen to close Audition, then click continue. Once I close Audition, the update screen goes away as well. Is there any way to work around this?

Hi.I have this dynamics effects (that is obsolete) in Premiere CC. I want to reproduce it in Adobe Audition so I can use it's batch mode. But Dynamics effects in audition is different with Premiere. Can anybody describe how it's done in audition? (both compressor and Auto Gate)
Anyone know of a plug-in for Audion or Logic that has the same ability for Auto Heal and Noise Reduction w/ Noise Print? Seems Noise Reduction w/ Noise Print is still broken: "A severe error code was encountered (00000008)." No explanations or links to advice is simply bad coding.
I removed the silence parts in audio, but I do not how to remove the same parts on video or in other words sync with video. After the changes are applied I need to save it as a video. Thanks.
Do you REALLY need Apple to “Rock your home”?We always have Adobe Audition on our brains when we hear about new audio technology. The Apple HomePod https://www.apple.com/homepod/threw us for a loop, this week. During the Apple WWDC Keynote, we wondered if this would open a need for a new music recording and distribution model. There’s been a great deal of discussion about Apple’s new HomePod. It was touted as a music-based device in a product category primarily known as a “Smart Speaker.” That name is something of an evolution of the “Smart Phone” name.Google and amazon have had plenty of success with devices you can talk to and they talk back. That too is something of an evolution, in this case its Apple’s Siri which the other two players monetized for a digital home before Apple fully got around to it.But, is the HomePod a great music solution? Maybe that’s analogous to asking. “Is the iPhone is a great camera?” If you don’t own a professional dSLR (digital Single Lens Reflex) camera,
I can't figure out why this file won't get rid of silence there are a few pauses that are roughly 15 seconds long that the diagnostics tab won't pic up for some reason that's what I keep seeing, and this is what the waveform looks like currently. please help, i don't want to have to manually edit out all the silences.
I'm organizing all of my Audition files and I'm looking to understand how to better save the entire session ( not just the smaller session file) to a new place. If I do Save As and select a new location, it saves only the .sesx file. I want the folder it lives in along with all of the audio files. Does anyone know what I mean?
For version CS5.5, when recording audio: 1. Create two markers. 2. Select the two markers. 3. Right click, and merger selected markers. 4. Lose entire recording.cheers
There's no way to visualize the crossfade duration of a mix paste before hitting OK.Any way to visualize this duration would be immensely helpful, and it would save me a lit of trial and error! Especially across a lot of zoom levels. I can estimate pretty well, but estimation isn't ideal.
The current gradient (black to magenta to red to yellow to... some weird blackened yellow for clipped audio that's too loud) isn't ideal for me.It's very common that I'll bring quiet, dynamically uncompressed audio into Audition, and I have a compressor as a track effect in Premiere. This is so that nothing gets baked into my files, but it also means that analyzing them in Audition is more difficult because the amplitude is much lower. It's very hard to see super quiet audio. I find myself using the shortcut CTRL+B to get a B&W view that has much more contrast, which is counter-intuitive, and something I probably shouldn't have to do under ideal circumstances.A subtle nose whistle up in the higher frequencies, as an example, can be hard to see.I've seen competing software use colors from dark blue to orange, and I find that it's much easier to see the quieter stuff. If you gave us a gradient editor (ideal), that lets us choose color stops and set where they are, or maybe even a few o
Does Audition have a window or a plugin that lets me view the real time play back of audio frequencies?I can download an app on my iphone that lets me monitor the sounds around it and put out a high and low chart, but does audition do this natively?
Hi Guys,I'm about to get an Ipad. Can I use the same account from my desktop on my ipad? How do I go about doing that? Thanks,Tye
When I export a session to MP3 the silence at the start and finish of the session is recorded over with odd digital-like sounds at very low volume. Something like old telephone signals or a bad '50's sci-fi movie. Anyone else getting this? It doesn't occur with WAV or AIFF mixdown exports. This seems like it's new from 10.1.1.10 or thereabouts.
I'm a little baffled as I'm using two new bits of gear and not sure which bit I'm using incorrectly.I have Audition CS 5.5 on my Mac (OSX Sierra) and I have an Audient iD22 audio interface. This has a DI input into which I've connected my guitar.Because the DI input is actually on Input 2 of the iD22 I've changed the Channel Mapping in Audition so that now Channel 1 is from Audient iD22 Channel 2In Waveform/Edit mode if I go into record I can hear my guitar and when I stop I see the waveform, can play it back etc.In Multitrack mode things get a little weird. I record arm, go into record but can't hear anything. When I stop I don't see any waveform but I when I playback I can hear what I've recorded but it sounds like it's doubled up. I'm pretty sure that this is a mix of the input signal and the output of the VST plugins combined. So I've just downloaded a trial of Waves GTR3 and want to play my guitar through these plugins so that I can hear it in real time.In Waveform/Edit mode if I a
