I once was a fairly serious user of pre-Audition, audition. Then I moved to Audition 3, then 3.01. And then my HDD crashed. Long story short, with Windows 10 I can't get anything Audition to install. I had it going on Win7, but nothing after that. So I have just about given up. Just today I see things pop up about Auditon Shareware, free download Audition, and an Adobe add linking to Audition CC purporting to be free, except at the bottom it mentions a subscription, which is a hefty price for someone that uses sound editing software about quarterly.I also see Magix has it "ACID Music Studio 10" on sale for $20. I'm thinking my best be is to forget Adobe and Audition forever and move on. And yes, I paid for Audition 3, had a legal license, and was royally hacked off when the licensing server suddenly had a "technical issue". I would like to hear some ideas from the community on this.Thank you allcjack99
I installed CS5.5 on a laptop running Windows 10. I cannot initiate audio playback with either the play button or space bar. Audio in Premiere Pro works fine. I tried an uninstall/reinstall with no change. Any ideas?
Hello guys!I have a problem with an XML file and I wonder if you ever had it too. I recently knew about the sesx2sesx add-on and I said : wonderfull. I dont need to make the "magic of ctrl +c ctrl+ v" from session to session and loose my track information. Buuuut ... i have a problem with an XML file. this is the problem: When I combinate 2 sesx to one it creates an XML file . but when i try to open it in Audition it gives me this error : J:\PM_CR_CARRO_1 + CARRO_1_CR_DIALOGOS_.sesx Error: El archivo está dañado o utiliza un formato no admitidoXML FATAL ERROR: (line: 41251, col: 3) [ J:\PM_CR_CARRO_1 + CARRO_1_CR_DIALOGOS_.sesx] expected end of tag 'clipGroups'I´m pretty much desperate .. Thanks a lot ! Greetings from Argentina PD: sorry for my english
Hey guys!I am viewing a recording of a bird call in Audition, and want to view the recording in "Spectral Pitch Display", but blue "correction"-lines are placed all over the recording. Is there a way to view the recording like this WITHOUT the blue lines?..and by the way, I do not mean "Spectral Frequency Display"! Notice the difference!

Over in ExtendScript for Premiere Pro (along with After Effects, Illustrator, and InDesign) the function JSX function app.getCCXUserJSONData() returns a variety of properties, including some system IDs, app version, time left on subscription, and other interesting and useful bits of data. The same function, however, does not work in Audition and Photoshop.Curious if there is a similar command available.
Hi, I downloaded and used the trial version fine for the full trial time. Decided to purchase this weekend. It's not a cheap piece of software, so I'm hoping for some decent support here.I managed to run the full unlocked version a few times without problems. I haven't installed anything else since it last ran. I did notice that it seemed slightly sluggish today.... then when I tried starting it later:-Bang!"Runtime Error" Program C:\Progra...This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applicaton's support team for more information"I tried a complete uninstall, restart, reinstall... same error. I'm not finding anything relevant in this or other support forms. The error message isn't tellin gme too much either.Help please!
I'm doing a project in Premiere that I'm taking chunks of into Audition and adding foley, before rendering them out and slotting them back in Premiere. I finished one chunk, and then I moved on to the next chunk in my Premiere timeline, sent it to Audition through Dynamic Link, but I accidentally clicked the button to overwrite the previous chunk's Adobe Audition Interchange folder!! Now I have no clue as to how I'm going to recover all those hours of work! Any advice?
Not sure what setting has changed, but now Audition is copying / importing my HUGE video files each time I drag it into a multi-track session. My hard drive quickly fills up, and the saves can take a long time as the files are copied.I just need the files to stay where they are, such as on a media drive, and not copy into the project drive! Thanks for the info!
Hi everyone,I recorded a 1 on 1 interview with both the interviewer and the interviewee each having their own separate microphones. Now the problem is that one of the microphones (the interviewer's) picked up more than the other, even having the the interviewee's voice recorded as well - loud enough to hear, but not clear enough to not have to use the other microphone's recording as an audio track. However, the interviewee's microphone was better, cutting out most of the interviewer's voice, and restricting it only to the interviewee's voice. Is there a way to use the interviewee's microphone's recording as a noise print and remove his voice totally from the interviewer's track (i tried this, effect was only minimal) or a better way to clean up the interviewer's audio track? Thanks in advance for any potential solutions!
I've got an issue, using Adobe Audition CS6 5.0.2 Build 7When trying to select a portion of audio, it either selects all or the selection jumps around but not selecting what I want. Is there a fix for this?
How can I stop monthly payment? for Adobe Audition CC (month-to-month) I purchase it for one month only, but I surprised that they deduct two more times from my credit card, and now I want to stop this paymentAyman
Hello, I created a voice recording in Audition CC (i installed all latest updates), but I can't edit the file. Razor, split, move... all that items are grayed out. I am in wave-form mode, and I pretty sure that worked before. I tried uninstall and install again audition, but it did no helped.Do you know how to fix it?
I have audition 3 running on windows 7. I can not get audition to record sound from the internet. Please help.
I am working on an audio book that includes recording from numerous sources, including from about 20 different readers, most of whom recorded with different hardware in different places. Some of the recordings have a lot of reverb because of the location, other have lots of artifacts because of the mics used, and many have background noise because of their location. My question is, should I clean up the noise separately or put them into one file and then clean them up section by section?I have been doing it separately but have found a lot of variability in dynamics and difficulty in matching volume once they are combined. In any case, what suggestions might anyone out there have? The reverb particularly is a problem and I have installed the plugin DeVerberate that is kind of hit and miss.
I'm not sure when this stopped working - whether it was a Windows update or an Adobe update, but I can no long record "What U Hear" from my Creative sound card. I've tried every permutation I can with the Audition settings but no luck. This used to work not so long ago. Any ideas?
I haven't noticed this before, but if you work in the multitrack view, and you have zoomed in on the display and have "centered auto-scrolling in multitrack editor" enabled, the speed the display refreshes at slows right down. This is true even if there's only one track used in multitrack view. You notice it as soon as the display begins to scroll. All dynamic content is affected, so level meters, phase analysis, spectral display etc. all update much slower. It looks like they refresh at 5fps rather than 30fps. I have a Nvidia GTX970 graphics card with up to date drivers installed, so I doubt it's a graphics hardware issue. Playback and recording of the audio doesn't seem to be affected, just the display update. I'm on the latest version of Audition CC 2017.1.1.Has anyone else noticed this behavior?Regards,Steve
NOTE: This only seems to happen when there's a lot of ampliude in lower frequencies (here, its' hot (bright yellow) from 20Hz and falls off by 150Hz).Edit: for this example, I generated brown noise and increase the amplitude of the lower frequenciesHere is an image showing a marquee around exactly where I'm about to paste. Notice that none of the lower frequencies are being selected. The lowest frequency is around 1kAnd that's what it looks like after the CTRL+V / CMD+V paste.Notice that spike at the beginning of the pasted audio? That's definitely unwanted. Frequencies outside of the ones I had selected were affected, and now there's an anomalies that I have to try to remove.I'm sure there's a logical reason why this happens looking at the code, but as an end user, this is a frustrating unwanted result, and it would be great if the developers could figure out a way to keep this from happening.Has anyone else had this issue? Does it frustrate you, too?Just for reference, here's approxi
For the sake of this post, I'm going to generate Brown Noise. But this happens with any noise and it affects me all the time.Copy a section of audioMix Paste over a different portion of audio with Overlap (Mix) on and a Crossfade duration setAfter doing this, you will always end up with an unwanted dip in amplitude.See those two darker sections? That's where the crossfade was applied. While I doubt this is technically a bug in the code, I can imagine that it's an unwanted consequence by most users.I'm sure the algorithm is functioning as intended, but the cross dissolve is far from ideal, leaving gaps throughout the duration of the transitions. This isn't a phase issue, but something about how Audition treats the amplitudes of the clips during the transitions.I'd be very surprised if there is a use case where this output result is actually desirable.Does anyone else run into this issue and want to see it addressed?
This will be a bit hard to explain.I have a multi-track session project with various clips positioned at specific times. How can I copy/import a clip from one multi-track project into another... but pasted exactly at it's time position as it was in the previous/former project? (without having to manually positioning it).
Hi everyone,I bounce large quantities of mixdowns daily in Adobe Audition (CC 2017, 10.1.1.11), and need to find a way to edit the default naming conventions, specifically to remove the appended "_mixdown". It might seem trivial, but it would save me a lot of time if my default export name was exactly that of my session name, without "_mixdown". Can anyone help me? I recognize this may be an under-the-hood fix, but I don't know where to find the appropriate file to edit. Thanks all!J
Hello,My friend and I are thinking about starting a podcast, we will be buying a mixer and two microphones that run through it to make sure we are recorded on separate tracks. Now I am really new to Audition and I am fairly lost. I was wondering how I would make this work on Mac? So the two microphones plug directly into the mixer and then the mixer into my laptop. Once the mixer is plugged in, how do I make it so Audition allows me to record each microphone on its own separate track instead combining them into the same one?Thank you all!
Can people share how they deal with coughs? I do a lot of live audience recordings, and coughs are my biggest headaches.
I'm using Audition 1.5. With Windows 7. I'm trying to record audio from an audio cassette tape. I'm using line in and the sound is going to the computer speakers, but it will not record. I can import audio files into Audition and they will show a wave form and play. I have tried to use the Amplitude/Play effect. When I open the effects tab expand Amplitude and click on Amplitude/Fade, nothing happens. That tab is greyed out. Can you help me?Dick Brownjrbrown55@sbcglobal.net309/691-0606
Hello!I'm finishing up final audio adjustments for a video, and I'm running into a problem. When played back in Audition, everything sounds great and how I want it, but when I export back to Premiere my VST compressor doesn't affect the audio. I've tried exporting in several different formats, and exporting the "multi-track mixdown" to later import through Premiere but the same thing happened. Is there some way to export in real time to capture the effects? Or have I done something wrong? I have my narration side-chained to a separate, non-vst compressor if that could be causing the problem, but I don't think that's it. The VST compressor I'm using is the Focusrite Red 3 Compressor, which appears to be the only effect not working upon export. Thanks in advance for help, let me know if there's more information you need.-Sean
