I have read many posts on this forum about bridge not showing file extensions after a batch rename. posts like this:https://community.adobe.com/t5/bridge-discussions/bridge-is-still-removing-the-file-extension-when-performing-batch-rename/td-p/11212492I am experiencing a much worse issue with batch rename. I have tested this by duplicating a folder with images and after the batch rename comparing the 2 folders to see what has changed. This is what happened: 1. File names are not all renamed (some are always left and I have to do a 2nd rename process to get these right). This is a minor problem, though annoying.2. Bridge changes file extensions. Many of my dng files are now .HEIC or .JPG. I can change back to dng manually and it still has my edits also. So it doesnt seem to change the file content, just the extension.3. Some conversion is taking place. In the duplicate folder the smallest file was about 1MB large. But after batch rename I now have 300 , 400 KB files in the folder.
My issue:I saved an HDR file in jpeg after working on it in the latest Adobe Camera Raw in Bridge as of 2023, I then opened that jpeg on my Mac desktop but I didn't see the HDR edits, I also uploaded the image to Google Drive and don't see the HDR edits. I open that same HDR file in Bridge Camera Raw and I see the edited HDR settings. My conclusion is that it's Adobe Bridge Camera Raw can view the HDR settings but those settings can't be viewed otherwise. I can't find a way to capture the image how Adobe Camera Raw previews the file. ChatGPT response below but I still have the same issue:Based on your description, it seems that the HDR edits you are making in Adobe Camera Raw within Bridge are not being correctly reflected when the file is saved as a JPEG and then viewed outside Adobe software. This issue can arise due to several factors:Non-Destructive Editing in Adobe Camera Raw: Adobe Camera Raw performs non-destructive editing, meaning the changes you make are not directly app
Looking for a way to duplicate the same content tab (the same location path) so I would have two identical content tabs of the same path.
Dear all,I selected a group of photos under Bridge 2024 and tried to assign a common keyword to all of them. However, the keyword was only assigned to the first photo but not the rest, and when I closed the Bridge and reopened it, the assigned keyword just disappeared. I tried purging the cache but it didn't help. What can I do? Thank you.
The latest version of Bridge is has become very slow. What settings should I have or use to make it as fast as possible.Example of what is going slow:I have a folder with 1000 images. 200 are labeled.I want to select all images with a label. After checking the red label left in the filterbox I have to wait sometimes more than 10 to 15 seconds before something happens.... It wasn't like that before....using windows 11 (before the last adobe updates everything was working fine) Help me, this has to change! Thanks!
Today keyword searching accidentally stopped working, I just tried update Adobe Bridge to latest version but still not working. What happened? It doesn't even try index files/folders...
I want to move 3 modified images to another spot within the same folder so they will beside each other to view them side by side and compare. When I highlight all 3 images to move them, Bridge won't scroll the folder images up or down so I can move them. The panel has that stupid blue box surrounding it so it is active but it won't scroll so I can drag the images. Why? Bridge 2022 does it fine.
I have saved settings for a contact sheet in Bridge 2023 and wanted the saved Contact Sheet Template to transfer over to Bridge 2024. Is there not an option to save the template and import into Bridge 2024. Thank you!
We are using the most current version of Bridge on a Windows 10 laptop. We wait until Bridge shows that it is finished indexing before we start editing images. Our problem is that a lot of the time after we delete an image, Bridge jumps back to the first image in the folder. This is very frustrating as we then have to scroll down to find where we left off.We are sorting by date created and have tried using both the delete button on the keyboard, as well as the delete function on the numerical keyboard--same results. It doesn't happen every time we delete an image, but does happen more often than not.We have tried re-starting the computer, as well as purging the cache.Any help would be appreciated!
In my photo library I use DNG files (for all my RAWs), jpg and HEIC.For DNG files I know xmp is written into the file, no sidecar file needed. Works fine. For jpg I have also never seen any xmp sidecar being created so it seems to be written into the jpg also.Only for HEIC images, if let's say I add a keyword, then a xmp file is created automatically for that HEIC image in the same folder. Or I make some edit in Camera raw, xmp file is also created. Is that correct? Is there no way to save this info directly into the HEIC file? I would much prefer to not have hundreds of xmp files in my image folders.I did look at many posts on this forum and other websites but the info is conflicting when it comes to HEIC files. So I'd like to get some updated information on this. Thanks for any help.
I am very new to working with metadata. I have a microsoft excel file with the IPTC Core fields I need for each image file.(Creator, Headline, Description, Keywords, Title, Job Identifier, Credit Line, Source, Rights Usage Terms, Copyright Status and Copyright Notice)Is there a way to get the metadata into the files without having to copy from a cell into each metadata field individually?I am hoping some for sort of script, possibly... Also, if only ONE of these fields needed updating in all of the files (i.e. Rights Usage Terms) can that be done?I have Bridge 5.1 (and earlier versions CS3/CS4)
I've spent decades ensuring every photo I took had keywords and other XMP data so I could find it again when I needed it. I allowed Adobe Bridge to update to version 14.01.137 and now it's deleted ALL XMP data! Even the date created and modified has bogus dates in those fields.Anyone find a cure for this or am I recreating starting from scratch? Is there an alternate for Adaibe Bridge?
I have an idea....an option to reduce number of displayed images or current images read to display mathematically. 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 etc. You could then have pages with the other photos ready to be displayed and not qued up all together. Get my point? If I use "Collections" to find all images with say "Beer" as a keyword, I get 3945 images under that term within the "Content" window. This slows down my computer considerably. Granted it's an 8 year old Windows workstation, but it has a Intel 3.5GHz Xeon, 32GB EEC RAM and a old NVIDIA Quadro K4200 graphics card...but it should be able to render those without turning into quicksand. If I use "Filter" to finetune with another keyword, say "Outdoors" I get 599 images and everything runs smooth as butter on a ward summers day.So If I can flip a switch to only que up 1/4 of those 3945 images, everything would be smoother. I don't NEED all those to be available immediately anyway.
Adobe Bridge freezes for 15 seconds. That happens with .mov files (with alpha channel). And when I preview (pressing play) the video is not seen, only the audio is played.
I recently recovered a large lot of files that had been inadvertently deleted. Most of them came back like this:What is it, and how do I convert it to JPG? This is new to me. Please be gentle - I'm not a tech expert. Or point me in the right direction if this isn't the place to ask. Thank you!!Thanks for any help you can offer.
Hello,In Bridge 2024,1. Search criteria are empty.2 . change the color of the exposure. It's quite slow. All other settings seem to migrate fine in Bridge.
I have scanned a number of family photos that have relevant information written on the back. I have currently scanned the front and back into two separate files. I'd like to keep both images together in one photo so they stay together and not get lost. I've used photoshop 2023 and loaded them as a stack then labeled each layer as front and back. Is there a better way to accomplish this with a large number of photos? My goal is to preserve photos and information for future generations.
Hi everyone !I made a takeout of all the pictures of my Google Photos because I want to sort them (because it's a mess in here). I'm not a photograph, but I'm used to take screenshots or download a lot of pictures from the Internet.I noticed that in the metadata, there is some information about the camera who was used when it's a photo, and there is nothing when it's a screenshot. I want to put the photos in a first folder and all the screenshots, memes, etc in another folders, and separate them by the presence or the absence of data about the camera. I'm not sure to be clear enough, to write in a perfect english (I'm not an english native speaker). I'm also not used to Adobe Bridge (or any Adobe Software, to be honest), so I don't know if it's important but you'll know it. Thank for your help !
When I let Bridge index a folder of RAW files, initially the CPU usage is high, then it drops after all RAW files have been indexed. But Bridge continues to use 20-25% CPU, even if it apparently is doing nothing. When I exit Bridge (i.e. I close the window), this 20-25% CPU continues in the background. It only stops when I kill the Bridge process in the task manager. Is there any way to preven Bridge from using 20-25% CPU when it's doing nothing?
Started using Adobe Bridge Downloader on Ventura. It allows clear file name format e.g 20231020-102311-name. Unfortunately subfolder names are not as clear 20231020 instead of 2023-10-20. My eyes are getting painful. Lack of conistency between file name and subfolder name. Also lack of consistency between Bridge and Lightroom Classic. For years all my folders and subfolders where getting clear names 2023-10-20 so why it is not possible in Bridge. That is just stupid!
Hi, the 'Date created' metadata is wrong on some of my photos but when I try to edit them in Bridge I'm getting a message saying "This property cannot be modified": Any ideas on how to fix this please? I can actually edit some other metadata (it has a pencil next to it) - just not this. Thank you 🙂
I'm new to these fora so maybe this isn't the place to discuss a BRIDGE problem, but I'm hoping for some guidance.I'm using Windows 10, PS 25, Bridge 14.01, and I don't use Lightroom or the cloud.I have been using the TOP OF STACK feature in BRIDGE to display a JPG of a completed composite for many years while the rest of the stack sontains composite sub frames. Over the last several versions of Bridge these .jpgs have lost their top of stack status when I re-open a subdirectory. This used to happen to only some stacks,I now open the stack, re-apply top of stack status to the .jpg and close the stack, but with 14.01 I additionally have to check show .jpgs to even see them in an opened stack.
So, with the latest update of Adobe Bridge, AI format files are now showing transparency grid in Bridge preview and thumbnails, instead of standard white background (the way it's been, like forever). Unchecking "Show Transparency Grid" in the the thumbnail preview options drop-down actually makes it worse... rendering the artboard background as dark grey instead (screenshots attached). The worst part about this is that the transparency grid seems to be generated completely at random, as you can see in the screenshot (DIKUW_Logo_R1 vs DIKUW_Logo_R2), where one shows transparent background and the other artboard-white. There's no difference in the setup of these two files, as far as I can see... they're both presentation files for a 2 rounds of a logo design. R2 was in fact generated from R1 (resaved with a different name and updated content).I find this new development extremely annoying... can anyone shed some light on what's happening here and/or how I can remedy this?Thank you.
Just upgraded Macbook Pro 2019 16" to Sonoma, and now dragged/dropped and downloaded files and images show on desk top for 2 seconds, only to disappear and show up on Bridge...Any suggestions how to adjust this so files remain on desktop as well as bridge as they did on Ventura? Many Thanks!
