Bridge

I feel that the labels function could be expanded.  I see it as being a floating box that appears when ever photos are being viewed.  You could then add colours and descriptions of new labels.  If the box could float it would require minimal effort to put in a new label or select one (Possibly)  right from the box.  And it would dramatically speed the process of sorting photos especially when there are a lot of them. I think with colours the program could guide the user to the best colours.  But there could be an incredible number of combinations of colours and descriptions.  I think it would be faster.  I envisage something like this working like an old-fashioned stamp.  You just stamp things as you wish without going to menus etc.   All the best. Alan

I hace a MacBookPro OS Catalina 19.15.7. Creative cloud. Mostly use Photoshop. Have a large number of images in Bridge, Now peior to change o computer I mane a copy to an external diskl of all the contents in pictures, Kept the original content on my computer, Npw when I open Bride I get not only the picture fild but it seem to be the entire user content. When i click the folder Pictures Bridege crashes. Same if I open Bridege from Photoshop. However if I look for pictures on my computer harddisk images are there and can be opened in Photoshop. However I can not access them from Bridge which is my usual workflow, Should I just discard Bridge or what can I do?

Hi all,I'd like to copy filename to keywords. I've read this forum but I can't find a solution to my case.. So if someone could help me and tell me how to do that I'll be very happy. I don't have any javascript skills, so if someone would push me forward, that'll be nice.I'm using Bridge CS3, MacOS 10.5.8. Hi,I keep getting this erro message after every Description or Keyword entry. I'm adding PDF fiels from a remote server. I've re-started 3x, reset all of teh setting, purged cache, etc. I have permission to read/write from server. Only way I can get the data to stick is to open one of teh AI fiels & save a new PDF to my desktop, then add it to Bridge, add data, quit, relaunch & the data is saved. There's around 150-200 files that I would hate to go through saving out PDF's on all over again. Most of the PDF'a are less than 1MB.Any help appreciated. 

Hi,I am trying to built a custom fileinfo Panel for CC applications, I referred to XMP Metadata UI SDK CC 2014 guide and built one successfully.But I need a field where users can select multiple values from dropdown, and those will be saved into a single XMP property (e.g., <sampleSchema:cities>).Anyone developed or solved the similar problem in CustomFileInfo panels?Your help really appreicated. 

All of a sudden, all my folders in Bridge have a dark background around the title names. And the regular names have vanished... what's up with that?I've been working in CS6 for years and never have seen this before.I tried clicking on all the preference settings... but can't change the view back to normal - where the type is not surrounded by a black background.Any ideas how to fix this?Here's a picture of how it looks.Thanks so much

Hi after the lates update of bridge the downloader don't show all the sd-cards from the camera at the same time I have a D750 and it connected directly to the pc before it would show all the content from both cards but now I can only get first card and the second card I can get if I press the browse button but it's not possible to see both card at the sametime  is this a bug or a new feature/setting I have to change?

Hi I have installed latest version of both Bridge & Photoshop. However, I cannot find photoshop in "Tools" menu but previous version did have. This was happened when photoshop2022 was just released and I updated throught cc cloud. Now I have trouble in doing a quick batch image processing. How to fix this issue? Thank you.

There has never been a problem to put memory card in my Mac card slot and startPhoto Downloader from Bridge before.Since update to Bridge ver 12 I cant use PD anymore, it hangs while "...finding sorce"I have to move all files to desired place and then convert to DNG and rename themmanually.I have tried to reset everything by pressing shift-cmd-opt... while starting Bridge butit don't works. What have I done wrong?

Beim erneuten Öffnen der Datei wird der Text in diesem Feld nach ca. 60 Buchstaben abgeschnitten. Dies passiert auch beim Kopieren von Dateien auf ein anderes Medium ohne die Datei zu öffnen. Bitte kümmern Sie sich um dieses Problem sofort! Dieser Fehler ist ein Skandal!

It crashes and freezes a lot. I open a folder and it will sometimes show files from a different folder. Get a lot of error messages too. Everything is up to date. Anyone else having this issue???

I get this error when running Adobe Bridge. Please tell me how to solve it.  error message 1. An error occurred while running a startup script named 'bridge-12'. It may not be compatible with this version of Bridge;you can check for available updates by selecting the Updates command from the Help menu. I didn't think it possible, but Bridge 12.0.0.234 performance is even worse than previous versions.  Opening the same folder I've opened multiple times before, without restarting the computer, Bridge takes over 30 seconds to respond to anything.  Clicking anywhere on Bridge results in a whited out screen and Windows saying Bridge is Not Responding.  It takes over a minute to Generate Thumbniails in a folder with 1414 raw files - every time I open Bridge - the same folder I've been working in for days. All the new ACR masking features are wonderful.  But not if it takes 30+ seconds just for Bridge to get around to opening a file. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE - ditch watever DB you're using.  Hire a SQL performance expert.  Fix Bridge performance.  I know it's possible.  I've personally seen massave DB's with millions of complex elements run smoothly, seamlessly, and responsively on a 7 year old PC.

Found a bug. When launching a "batch edit" from BRIDGE (Tools - Photoshop - Batch...) on a number of selected raw files photoshop "may or may not" choose to IGNORE THE APPLIED CAMERA RAW SETTINGS.On the other had when opening the RAW file directly in photoshop the files are always rendered correctly. Note I don't have time to manually run the actions each file.This is very frustrating when appling photoshop actions to 50 files at the time and then realize there is no color correction or crop or the proper contrast I just spent half an hour in camera raw setting it right.

Hallo, ich musste meinen Rechner neu aufsetzen. Adobe Programme also neu runtegeladen. Nun tritt folgendes Problem auf (vermutlich stimmt etwas an den Einstellungen nicht, ich weiß aber leider nicht was...):wenn ich die Bilder in Bridge oder Lightroom bearbeitete, sehen sie normal aus. Drücke ich "fertig", springt man zurück in die Übersicht und alle Bilder, auch sw-Bilder haben plötzlich einen starken Gelbstich. (s. Bild. Rechte Seite während Bearbeitung, linke Seite nach "fertig"). Wenn ich die Bilder exportiere, bleibt der "Farbstich".Ich weiß, dass ich das bereits früher mal hatte, aber ich weiß nicht mehr, wie ich es beheben konnte.Vielleicht kann mir jemand helfen?! LG Doro

Hi,I'm looking for a best practice for a non professional to manage metadata with Bridge (CC version). Here are my experiences with some questions for more advanced "metadater's" and possibly Adobe support experts (note: translated from German via Google, so some technical terms might be misleading vs. the actual Bridge user interface terms):o In Bridge, practically only the keyword collection is available for filtering keywords (I'm not talking about created collections now). That's pretty meager when you consider that there is some other central metadata, e.g. with geographical data, people in the picture, etc. Am I getting it wrong or is that really a shortcoming in Bridge?o You can then only select the other metadata via the "Advanced search". Whereby either only "All metadata" or only a limited selection is offered. Apart from the fact that it is relatively awkward to click.o This would mean that you should actually include all keywords (aka descriptive metadata) in the keywords.

Hi,I'm looking for a best practice to maintain keywords.So far I have proceeded to "edit" the keywords directly into the metadata fields. They are all searchable; but are not available bridge-wide as a click selection in the keyword list (only as "Other keywords"). How do you go about it: write in directly or click on the selection? The latter requires an existing list that you have to create first. The definition of keywords is practically only possible after viewing photos and then defining suitable keywords. So how do you go about it practically?o In this context: How do I get the already existing “other keywords” (there are hundreds) into the keyword hierarchy so that I can use them to click? They are not included when exporting.(note: translated from German via Google, so some technical terms might be misleading vs. the actual Bridge user interface terms)This topic is related to 'Feed images with metadata...' which I have posted just before.

Hi folks,   it's been a while, I think with the two last updates, that Bridge has become a little bit of a vampire on memory usage. It literally consume all 16Gb RAM in a matter of few minutes.   I suppose there must be a way to intervene on this, but I am really not sure what I can do except limiting the apps working on the background.   More often than not, though, I need PS open at the same time, but while PS does not attempt to the RAM (if I have it open and let's say I have Acrobat, Safari, Amazon Music and Pages running, no major issues happen to the memory usage), the combination Bridge and whatever else becomes unbearable for my Mac   Processor: 2.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 Memory:16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Graphic: Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB MacOs Catalina 10.15.7 aer the specifics   Any advices on this? Are there things in the preferences that I can touch to make Bridge smoother and less Memory needy?   Thanks in advance!

For the last month with a lot of Photoshop and Camera Raw updates coming out everytime a new one comes out it causes issues in my Bridge workflow.It has happened 5 times in the last 2 months where I open Bridge to find I cannot now close the program without it crashing and needing a force quit.I also can't access Camera Raw setting within Bridge without another freeze and crash.Also same issue if wanting to opening a raw file with Camera Raw within bridge, it freezes then crashes.This has been happening on and off for the last 2 months with all the new updates. Ok I'm getting pretty desperate for a fix so I thought I'd try a forum.I started photo 2 years ago and my workflow was a mess. My form of ingesting changed over and over and I really didn't have a system. At some point (for like 20 assignments/shoots) I used Bridge for ingesting and applying metadata (Copyright, etc). The problem is that I did this at a time where I thought I would operate under a pseudonym. Recently, I spent an entire week updating metadata using PhotoMechanic. I made sure every single file name had the same format, every pic had an ingest level caption and copyright under my legal name, and set 5 star ratings on all my portfolio pics. It was really satisfying. However, when I sync the folders over to Lightroom (which I use to edit), Lightroom reads the old metadata on those 20ish folders I ingested through Bridge, which includes my old pseydonym under copyright. Is there a way to fix this? To strip the Bridge metadata or tell Lightroom to read the PM metada
