Bridge

How do you MOVE Collections to new storage locations with Bridge? I have multiple collections consisting of original files that may reside on multiple external hard drives. I have a new high capacity drive that will become my working drive, as the existing drives are getting older (like me). I can't recall the procedure to do this so that Bridge will maintain access to the files in the Collections.I plan to COPY the files from the old HD's to the new HD's. I can either drag copy, or possibly use Carbon Copy Cloner. But I may need to change the folder hierarchy to a better system, and I'm concerned that an altered directory will confuse Bridge.Thanks.

I use batch rename all day on folders of images, and this new 2019 update has slowed down my workflow, due to sloppy or rushed design it seems.I've gone back to Bridge 2018 for now, since there's also the issue of "cut and paste" not working in the new version. However this isn't a long term solution because eventually I'll have to move to newer versions to keep up with the rest of Creative Cloud.I use a complicated preset to accommodate a client's naming conventions. In the 2018 and previous versions, all my fields were visible, the cursor was always at the top, and I could practically blaze through it without even looking. In the 2019 window, I can't see the entire formula, the cursor defaults to the third field (not even visible on screen),  I have to take my hands off the keyboard to use the mouse, and carefully watch what I'm doing. Hello...I currently have Adobe Bridge v8.0 installed on a Windows 8.1 PC, and this is connected to an AD infrastructure that is NOT internet connected.In order to upgrade to v9.0, I obtained an 'offline' installation from this location: Download Creative Cloud apps After clicking the setup exe, I received the following message: "the installation cannot continue as the installer file may be damaged"As recommended by the message, I attempted a fresh download of the Windows x64 version and tried it on different PC that was running Windows 10, however I get the same error message.Initially I used 7-Zip, then I tried WinRAR, which made no difference to the extracted files. I also disabled AV to check if that was getting in the way, but still no joy.I'm rather out of ideas, perhaps someone out there can shed some light on this issue.Cheers,Steve

Is it possible to link a folder of images (on my Mac) to a Library in Bridge so that if I add an image to the folder it automatically shows up in the library?

When in the "Preview" workspace, the vital information on the bottom of the Content panel is lost. In Bridge 2018, this was permanently along the bottom of the whole Bridge program window. Now that it's INSIDE the Content panel, the file number count, etc, is lost because the Content panel is too narrow to display it. C'mon. Why move it? It was perfect where it was! Or at the very least, make the file count stay, and the thumbnail size slider disappear. I often use the file count when filtering images by rating, etc. I have no idea why this was moved.

When I open bridge on a new computer its all big text and looks as if its in safe mode?None of the other apps do this. Any idea why? Can't seem to find an answer in the search featurethanks

I have changed the criteria to Label Equils Selected. I have changed the folder and looked into subfolders, and changed folders. I turned on and off the ticked boxes. Nothing seems to work. It worked in the past, but for a couple of months at least I can't get it to work again. Any ideas?

With the release of version 9.0.2 of Adobe Bridge, I am no longer able to append the metadata in my photographs. WHen I select all photos in Bridge, then go to Tools>Append Metadata and select the metatdata template I want to add, I now get an Adobe Bridge message, which states:The metadata of some of the selected items cannot be changed since either these do not support XMP Metadata or their thumbnail generation is in progress.Do you want to continue and apply the changes to some of the selected items only?What do I need to do to get around this issue? I MUST add metadata to my photographs.

In previous versions of Bridge, I was able to use keywords that include letters ş, ç, ü etc. Now if a keyword includes any of this letters, search cannot find anything. Also, I cannot use Windows Photos as a default application (for jpeg) even it’s considered default in windows settings. There is no option in File Type Associations to allow you to change jpeg association to Photos app.

What I've checked: 1. Photoshop and Bridge are the current versions on my PC.2. The plug-in version is the current (11.2.1).3. My Lumix RS1 is included in Adobe's list of supported cameras for Raw images.Any suggestions would be appreciated.Thanks.William Maxwell

Hi there,Animation presets previews are not working in Bridge CC2019, this for text which I am currently 'trying' to use.For the past half hour I have been looking into why. Followed this advice and reinstalled After Effects CC (2015) 13.5.Bridge CC2019 text animation previews not working?So I both current and 2015 version of AE. I am still using AE 2019.No matter what I do, the previews are not working which is getting very frustrating.Is there a 'quick' way, work around to get such a simple thing to work please?Thank you.

Using latest Bridge 9.1.0.338 on an iMac with 10.14.5 Mojave, the search feature misses a lot of images that Finder locates and so does the out of date Picasa program.  Anyone have similar issue or a suggestion about how to make Bridge do a thorough search?  Thanks.

hi! i am using the Adobe Output Module for Bridge CC 2018 when i am creating the contact sheet, the pictures on the contact sheet are darker then the original image. that is the same issue with all formats (nef, dng, jpg, psd) all defined as sRGB color profile . any idea why the images are darker. and how can i fix it?

Hello,Everything Photoshop and Bridge CC is up to date and I have just run into this problem on my CF Card for my Canon 400d.I have images of my latest paintings shot in RAW on the CF card. I opened up Bridge selected the new images and they opened in PS - no issues.While in Bridge I deleted some unwanted shots ( about 10 ) and bridge turned about 80% of my .CR2 files into .CRr files which cannot be opened, what has happened? There is still data in the files and google comes up with nothing.Can anyone help let me know what has happened or if this has happened to anyone else.All the best.Chris

I feel like there's probably an easy answer to this question but I couldn't find one in my search. I need to change the 2nd hyphen in these file names to an underscore. How would I make Bridge skip the first hyphen? I've attached a screenshot.

I'm on Mac OS 10.13.6 and the text field in batch rename does not scroll horizontally.  Sometimes i can get it to work after changing the field from another field type.  Does anyone know if there is a fix for this?  This computer is a brand new mac and not many other issues, just this with bridge.  I'm in a work environment  as well it's just used for photoshop and bridge.Thanks for any help.  I did not find anything in the forum search.

Hello,I'd like to copy sort orders from one folder to another. Let's say one folder contains RAW files and the other JPEGs with identical names.Should be easy to copy the .BridgeSort file and modify the content, that is the file extension of the key value of the item tags. But the key is build by the filename plus something that seems to be a timestamp. I just can't figure out what timestamp from metadata or file attributes I have to use.Rainer

I'm struggling with seeing my images in the orientation they were taken -- so I know what to rotate for upload to various sites. Bridge is automatically rotating them so they view correctly -- but I want to see the images as they were shot. Is there a way to alter the view so there is no "auto rotate" turned on?

I have a number of Photoshop actions that run scripts. These scripts have been brought forward from CS and work fine when run inside Photoshop CS2. They are of varying complexity, but I've tested the following with a simple script: alert ("Hello World"); When I run the actions from Bridge, via the Batch command, the file opens correctly in Photoshop and I then get an error "the command scripts is not currently available". Why is this? Do I need to alter my scripts to run in Photoshop CS2? Note that when I save the action as a droplet, I can drag files onto the droplet and the script is triggered correctly. John

BEFORE ANYONE TRIES TO TELL ME ABOUT TROUBLESHOOTING: I've tried everything I can think of including the instructions located here: https://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/kb/troubleshoot-errors-freezes-bridge.htmlRegardless of the release I use -- CC2018 through CC 2019 -- after launching Bridge and editing a few images in Photoshop, Bridge eventually freezes and refuses to unload from memory or, if I can close it before it locks up, Bridge refuses to reopen (a quick view of processes shows it's still stuck in memory and can't be unloaded)Ctrl-Alt-Delete will NOT stop the service.  Not even Windows Taskkill can stop it.  I have to force the system to reboot via the MB power switch which has the effect of screwing up my RAIDs which have to be re-verified each timeI've tried completely uninstalling Bridge including its presets and the reinstalling so quite literally, NOTHING can make this application behaveThis the ONLY application that gives me any grief on this machine.
