I can think of 4 statuses for the Cache system in Bridge:No Cache. The older cache system for a single computer, lets call it a SingleCache system..The new SharedCache system, aimed at a multiuser system with a central cache but obviously also used on a single computer.A combination of SingleCache and SharedCache on the same computer. It seems that Bridge itself decides which system or combination of Caches that is used.I have got on my single PC computer the combination: Both SingleCache and SharedCache. Shall I accept that Bridge has done the best choice of Cache system or could I force Bridge to drop the SharedCache and use only the SingleCache system?
Hi, I have several hundred photos that I tagged with keywords (in a hierarchical format) in Adobe Bridge but the "read/ write hierarchial keywords" must not have been selected in the preferences because when I try to export the meta data there is nothing in the hierarchical subject field (only one keyword is assigned to each photo, the parent key words are missing). The package in R that I am using can only export the key words through the hierarchical subject. Is there an easy way to assign the currently tagged key words to the hierarchical subject or do I have to go through and re-tag all of them? Really hoping there is an easier way!Hierachical format:Species Carnivore Coyote-Would like to export all 3 but currently only getting Coyote and it is not assigned to the hierarchical subject field where I need it to be. Thanks,Alex
I am using MacOS Catalina and Adobe Bridge 2020. I noticed that the files .xmp are not deleted when its corresponding .NEF are deleted. I think that this problem started with the version Bridge 2020. Please, someone could help me to solve this issue. Thanks.
A new cache system has been introduced, SharedCache.Let’s call the old system SingleCache. SharedCache is first of all aimed at a multiusersystem with a central cache.SharedCache seems also to be used for a single computer. In my case (Bridge 2019) I seem to have got both systems on my single computer. I have noticed an increase of CPU use (often at 100%).If I shut down Bridge my CPU percentage is about 15%. When I opened Bridge the CPU went up to 75%. Where 70% is for a subprocess called” MyFolder (Not Responding)”. That folder holds 7 small images and were opened in the last session of Bridge. That process “Myfolder (Not Responding)” goes on and on, using 75% CPU, sometimes dropping down to 15% and then again rising. And my CPU is a 4x3.0GHz Xeon, so the used processor power is considerable.I thought at first that Bridge did some Cache work on a newly opened folder. But for 7 images? It seems more like Bridge has stuck on that folder.I have now tested this for 20 m
After last update Bridge CC 9.3 is very slow. Impossible to work - those actions that used to take seconds, now last minutes. Back to previous version
I am using a Mac Book Pro and currently have Catalina 10.15.2 installed. I am also using Bridge version 10.0.1.126. As of the most recent updates of these, the "Import from Device" menu option is not working. The screen opens and the device I am trying to import from (USB Card Reader) is recognized but when I try to select the device, nothing happens (e.g. I can not open the port to the device using Bridge). I have tried changing USB ports with the same results. I have been able to read and copy the files over to my hard disk using Finder with no problem but it is an extra step.
HiIve been using Bridge for ages now. I mostly add keywords to the file manually, or i copy keywords from another image (cut n paste). Now the keywords panel in Bridge has always baffled me. now im trying to master it.Ive just discovered "persistant keywords" by right clicking the word (or subgroup), so it appears as available in all images (horray). What is so fustrating that when i click on other images (usually in other folders) a load of keywords appear in my keyword panel (in italic). So i go and move these into a sub group or delete them (if not ticked). That was a waste of time because when I now go to another folder of images, a whole load more keywords appear in the keywords panel. If i now go back to the images folder from just now, all the keywords are back again, BUT not in ticked in the subgroups where i moved them to .Oh man, this is so fustrating, I just cant get them sorted out. I have 100's and 100' of images with keywords, I cant possibly delete the keywords and start ag
I rely on bridge in my workflow extensively for organization and processing. After the 2020 release it became impossible to use. Any simple action I would get the spinning color wheel. Working with files in bridge took much longer or became impossible. I re-installed Adobe Bridge 2019 and it works much better but this version seemed to lose some functionality. I lost the ability ot access all of the Photoshop Tools in the tools menu but specifically one I depend on "Load files into photoshop layers..." I do know there are ways within photoshop to stack the files into layers but it's little more clunky. I was hoping the latest Bridge update would resolve any issues I was having but it hasn't. So add my name to the list of disappointed. If anyone knows a way of adding the Photoshop tools back into the Tools menu I would appreciate it. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing all adobe software but this didn't seem to work. Any other thoughts? Machine specs below. Mo
I updated PS to the 21.0.2 and left the older version on my PC (windows). I set the Bridge preferences to have the 21.0.2 version be the default. However, when I use Bridge to open an image in RAW then click Open File, RAW opens the older version instead of the new 21.0.2 version of PS. I looked for something in RAW to set a default but found no way to do it. Is this an operator error or an Adobe error?
Hi there, I am trying to batch rename and the preview does not fit on the screen. I am running on Windows 10, and on the recommended Windows resolution 1920x1080. I realize that Bridge is asking for a minimum of 2560 x 1600. What a bummer. Can anyone help? Please be advised, I am not a techie:)
The information box that pops up on each file when hovering over, is constantly on my screen. How do you get it to go away?
After the first update Bridge 2020 still usless. You take our money every month. Record profits. PLEASE HIRE ENOUGH COMPETENT PEOPLE AND FIX THIS! PLEASE!
Help! I unplugged my laptop from our network to take it home, and when I later plugged it back in and launched Bridge, all the remote drives and outboard hard drives appeared in the main window with lock symbols in the top right hand corner. Clicking on the drive icon just opens a Finder window, rather than Bridge. If I right-click and go 'Unlock Item' nothing happens. What's wrong? Or what am I doing wrong?
In previous versions of Bridge, I had several folders set up as "favorites", upon "updating" to 2020, those folders are gone. And Bridge has no intention of letting me set them back up. All attempts to set up folders as favorite causes the app to pause "to think about it", then do nothing... Anyone else run into this annoying bug?
Hey, Going to try to give as much information as possible. I shot a session through Capture Pro and all imagery was saved in to a session file on my MacBook hardrive ( operating Mojave 10.14.3 ). All imagery was saved and fine, I went to generate a contact sheet through Bridge and I believe I must have pressed a short cut that deleted the files out of Bridge but in doing so it removed them from my Macbook entirely. They are not in the trash on the system, it was emptied automatically is what I'm presuming. I have run recovery software ( EASEUS DATA RECOVERY ) and it pulls through the imagery data but not the images themselves. I've seen other people discussing the issue of Bridge removing files from a hardrive but I've not seen any back steps to take to recover. If there is any steps someone can suggest I would be really appreciate it.
I used Bridge to assign keywords of family members to more than 500 digitized photographs. I gave each daughter a USB of these photos which they view on a digital frame. My goal in assigning keywords per photo was to enable my family (and future generations) to learn the identity of past generations, great grandparents and such.... While I can see the embedded keywords when I open a photo in Windows/Pictures, neither of my daughters can see those tags when they tried to open a file on their computers. Feels like I did a lot of work for no return. Other than creating an Excel with each file name and columns of individual's name per image (a time-consuming project), I don't know how to embed keywords so that they are viewable by other users on another computer. I looked up exporting keywords, but that's just the list of keywords, it is not cvs format to import into excel. I appreciate any help with this.
Hi I'm new to Adobe Bridge. Lightweight programs like FastStone, Imagine, or FastPicture viewer have an ability to allow the user to click the GPS data and open up the GPS program of choice (e.g. Google Map) so I can see where the picture was taken. In Adobe Bridge, is there an one-click solution to view the coordinate on a map? Or do I have to manually enter the data on Google Map? Thanks
I just updated to Bridge v10.0.1.126; running Mac OS Mojave v10.14.6 on an Apple Mac Pro. My Custom Workspaces are not showing up in the new Bridge. I checked, and my Custom Workspaces are in the correct folder as follows: User > Library > Application Support > Adobe > Bridge CC 2020 > Workspaces I rather not have to recreate all my custom workspaces. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated! Mark W.
Hello together, since Bridge 10 i no more can open a bunch of selected jpgs or every other types with the option "open with" in context or in the dropdown menu "file" I can open only 1 file with that feature, if i select only 2 the context option "open with" is gone or greyed out. I have recently started using Bridge 2020 on a MacBook Pro High Sierra (coming from the old Bridge CS5). There are a number of degradations in the new Bridge 2020 and I can't see what's actually better - overall it seems to be clumsy port of the old bridge which worked rather well. I shall create a different thread for each problem. My Macbook pro is 13" and the inbuilt retina screen has 2560 x 1600 pixels. I routinely use files having 900x1350 pixels. Under the old bridge, when viewing the file using "Full Screen Preview", it would zoom into the file and would fill in the screen so that the height is scaled up (1350 to 1600). The same problem exists for the Slideshow functionality. AFAIK there is no option to tell Bridge to scale up Previews.... I can see the rationale for this, but there ought to be at least a preference option allowing scale up. This problem did not exist under Bridge CS5. Thanks in advance

It is reasonable and expected that the filename be abbreviated for thumbnails displayed but there is no obvious way of seeing what the full file name is because it is abbreviated everywhere. I'll include comparissons with the Bridge CS5. This is mainly a rant to see if it would be fixed in a future update of Bridge. As they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Hello,I’ve got the latest version of bridge, I’ve catalina on mac. When I look at bridge photos, I use the space bar to display them.Sometimes this causes my mac to freeze, so the only solution is to turn off the mac and restart it, if you have a trick to avoid this?At first I noticed this by using the export panel from BR.TK very much for youy help, Alice.
I'm running a legitimate copy of Adobe Design Standard CS6 on a Windows 10 HP laptop.Whenever I open Bridge it utterly kills my internet connection on my machine within 10 - 20 seconds. This lasts as long as Bridge is running - no browser or email client can connect outside. When I exit Bridge, the connection comes back eventually by itself but may take a few minutes. It makes no difference if I already have another Adobe product open at the time or not (Illustrator or Photoshop etc), they do not kill the connection ever, it's only when Bridge opens that the troubles start. I have run this suite on another machine previously with no troubles.I have:Closed all other softwareCleared the cacheUninstalled and then re-installed CS6 suiteRun the troubleshooter on Windows internet connections - no issues foundEnsured Bridge is ticked for Firewall access in Kaspersky Internet Security 2018What am I missing here?

Bridge 8.0.1.282 on macOS 10.13.4I just started using Bridge and have noticed many of my descriptions (IPTC comment field) are not showing up in the metadata panel. They do show up when I do a Get Info on the file in Finder and I can also see them via exiftool in Terminal. The issue spans both scanned pictures and several camera models. I am a recent convert to the mac so most of the descriptions were created using Irfanview or Picassa on Windows, if that makes any difference. Any suggestions on what might be the issue? And what I may do about it? Thanks
