I've gotten started with some Bridge scripting and got kind of frustrated with the un-intuitive ways to fill out these metadata fields, so I went on a mission to create a helpful abstraction object to help me set the fields.I noticed that actually most of the solutions were using the external XMP lib object and dealt with manipulating the XMP from the string inside the image files, and the remainder were about the Bridge scripting commands to get the same data from the 'metadata' object which appears to be some kind of magical thing where by a namespace is set and then a key value can be retrieved so long as someone already knows the key ( which are all listed in the raw data, and by adding own text and finding it you can get all the fields, etc.).So, as the external lib method seems rather verbose, I decided to go with the metadata object of Bridge. Here's the object I made and it appears to be working. At least this works to set my few fields for now, is the method going to be a whole
Can anyone write something up for me? I will admit I cannot do it myself, I do not know Javascript.I need to add keywords and a description to 1000's of images. I have a text file formatted as such for each 100 images. The script would need to ask for an input file (or I can hardcode the path into the script) and then apply to the current folder of images shown in bridge.Text file example:1000 - Bright Sunset Over City. (sun;city;sky;mountain;) .1001 - Dawn Behind Mountain And Lake. (sun;mountain;water;sky;) .1002 - Bright Red Sunset, Light Edged Clouds. (sun;sky;tree;clouds;) .1003 - Tree Framing Sunset Over Bay. (tree;sun;lake;bay;) .1004 - Sun Behind Gull On Pilings. (seagull;sun;sea;pilings;) .images are named 1000.tif, 1001.tif, 1002.tif etcRunning on a Mac with CS3 and CS4.Thanks,Chris
Macbook Pro laptop, OS X El Capitan, 10.11.6After upgrading from CC 2015 to 2017 I had to reinstall three custom panels. The procedure is, Applications-> Adobe Bridge CC 2017-> Adobe Bridge CC 2017 .app-> Show package contents-> Contents-> Application Data-> Custom Info Panels-> 4.0-> Panels. In the Panels folder, I can see the custom panels are there. In each of the three folders I can see the files, manifest.xml, properties.xml, bin and loc. When I open Bridge and select Ctrl+I, only two of the custom panels appear. I attempted to install this panel a number of times. I even deleted all three custom panels and added them again, but for a reason unknown to me, this one particular panel will not show up. When I had CC 2015 installed, all three panels were visible. It was only after removing CC 2015 and installing CC 2017 that this problem began. It doesn't make sense why Bridge will not display that particular panel. Sure hope someone has the answer because I rea
When I open bridge and select some (amount doesn't matter) RAW pictures for editing in Camera RAW it works fine. After editing ('Done' in ACR) I return to Bridge and select a new set of pictures for editing.Opening in ACR then crashed Bridge and disables the 'Use Graphics Card' option. This is very annoying. If I close Bridge after every edit and restart, it all works fine! But that's not a good workaround by my opinion.Leaving the 'use graphic card' option off is slower and delays my workflow.Using CC2017. I updated my video card (Radeon R9 290) to the latest driver. My ACR is of the latest version. This started 2 ACR version updates before. Therefore it was working fine all time.It looks like video RAM is not freed up for some reason (or cache). I can't get my hand on it.Can somebody help me with options or tips?
I have relied on using w.show() == 2 to determine if a cancel button was pressed when using ScriptUI dialogs in PS, AI and ID. Now in Bridge, it seems like the cancel button does not work, including explicitly assigning a button as the window.cancelElement;I worked around this by adding a click event to set a property which is read when the window.show() returns something other than 2, and returning null when the property is present vs missing. But, am I just doing something wrong, or is this a known thing in the world of Bride scripting?
Okay, I had some photos where I changed to grayscale AND used noise reduction in Camera Raw. I have the HQ option checked but the thumbnails displayed show the gray scale but not the reduction in noise. However if I view an individual file in Camera Raw it shows both grayscale and noise reduction. Something in the way thumbnails are displayed?I have reinstalled Bridge to no avail.
I am using Bridge in CS6.I apply metadata, including keywords and descriptions to all images.I use 'find' to locate ones without the data, for example "keyword does not exist"Recently though, I realize, by remembering shooting certain subjects, that huge numbers are not turning up.This is resulting in huge amounts of extra work, looking at each image's metadata to see if it is there. For example, I shoot a lot of birds and give keywords such as sandpipers, or warblers. Then when I go to add specific names in descriptions, it limits the number and I can group select and name a lot all at once when appropriate. When everything has correct keywords and names, I move edited files to species specific folders arranged phylogenetically. So now I find that I may have named some individuals, but the search missed dozens of others and I have to look at every one and do the process all over again.I can't find any correlation with why some are found and others not, as keywords and descri
I haven't used Bridge in about a month. This afternoon, I attempted to download files from my CF card to my hard drive and received this lovely message. I had a similar issue a while back, which prompted me to make the switch from CS5 to CC. I've been able to use BridgeCC for around a year without issue (going from memory), and have had several updates which have not been problematic. When I got this message today, I checked my version of CC, and noticed that the last auto update appeared to have had an issue. I was able to successfully re-launch that, it updated, but this issue still persists - much to my frustration as I've run into this before (though not necessarily the exact same problem).I am NOT very technically inclined. I can follow instructions just fine, so long as no steps are left out. Can someone assist me in fixing this? (Please, before I toss everything out of the front door and resort to cocktails???)I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit with 16 GB RAM on the latest version
I work for a non-profit in Vermont, and I am currently working to improve our photo organization system. Our headquarters are small (6 staff), but we have a considerable amount of photographs.I am interested in Adobe Bridge. I understand this product is entirely free to both download and use, is that correct? I'm also curious about how our photos would be stored. Are there any costs which could arise relating to photo storage? More generally, would you recommend Bridge as a solution to our photo organization needs?I appreciate any information on the topic.Thank you!
I've seen that in the past the D810 had issues with NEF files being read in Camera Raw and Lightroom, but nothing recent. I just got my D810 a few days ago and have noticed something weird when using photo downloader. Some files, maybe 5%, will successfully get converted to DNG while the rest stay as NEF. Adobe Camera Raw is able to open and edit the NEF but I'm just wondering why it isn't converting everything. My camera is at the current firmware and all my programs for CC have been updated.
A little background: I was asked to go through timelapse images and delete the boring images as well as rename all the files and organize them. In Bridge CC everything is fine but when I look at the drive in finder there is nothing there. I have exported cache but still nothing appears on the drive. Help?
Hi, the three shot were taken the same day, the third a few hours late, showing "today" instead of date, funny. Also i would like to enlarge the thumbnailsa bit more, mac command+ gives about 2 inches most, thanks
Bridge is opening files when I try to only select that thumbnail, IE: I cannot highlight a file without it opening. Also: is there a way to set thumbnails to "double Click to open"?Thanks

Hey,Bridge takes forever - like 20-30 seconds an image - to do something as simple as changing a label or a rating. When I'm keywording, I can only enter info for two images before I have to wait for the first to finish updating - another 5-15 seconds.Any ideas what's hanging things up here? It's ridiculous.
original photos downloaded from Canon card.photos separated into folders.one folder's contents were "cleaned up" in Bridge and the folder was renamed.renamed folder with "cleaned up" images is accurate in Bridgerenamed folder still shows only the original photos and not the versions that were "cleaned up" when moving the folder.impossible to transfer folder with revised images.seems like the revised images want to be saved but that not available in "file"Any ideas?
MacPro 5.1, 64GB ram, OS 10.10.6, Adobe CC, nVIDIA GeForce GT120 512MBI’m seeing some rendering problems on the thumbnails and full screen views when in Bridge with raw files that have been adjusted. Images look like they often do just before a render is completed, blotches and strange color in areas.I’ve tried purging the cache, turning off and on Software Rendering in Preferences. When the raw file moves to ACR or to Photoshop the problem goes away but the Bridge rendering still remains strange.Help appreciated, samples below.Bridge Rendering (problem in shadows on lower left)ACR Rendering (problem not showing)
We recently installed Bridge Creative Cloud. The loupe tool does not appear anywhere. I have read the tutorials on usage and multiple forum posts, but none address what to do when the loupe tool is missing completely. It never shows up in the Preview panel and does not show up in Preview mode.I just need to enable the loupe tool, but would prefer not to re-install since I have multiple customizations I don't want to lose. (Previously, with Cs5 Premium I was a heavy user of the loupe and really miss the capabilities it provides.)
I recently purchased a Sigma 18-35, but am disappointed to find that there doesn't seem to be a lens profile in Camera Raw 6.7. Is there a way I can install the profile for this lens?
I have a large drive of photos that are tagged in Bridge. Is there a way to export the tags and import them into Bridge on another machine?
The files are png's created in CS6. When I open them in CC 2017 the files are copyrighted and have the correct info in file info, but in CS6 it all disappears. Can I be sure this information will be shared with third parties?
Just downloaded Photoshop CS6 Extended and then its updates. Photoshop opens OK, but Bridge indicates it is attempting to start - appears in Task Manager for 2 or 3 seconds as a background task and then disappears. I have attempted to run as Administrator and also tried to open it via Windows Compatibility option where it tells me that Bridge is not compatible with my PC's operating system. My PC:Windows 10 pro, 32 bit versionProcessor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz, 3601 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)The processor provides graphics capability, there is no graphics card installed, but Photoshop CS2 worked fine when it was installed on this PC.Please help.
Since the last Camera Raw update - RGB preview thumbnails in Bridge have converted in appearance to CYMK - worse when the files are opened in Illustrator or InDesign or Photoshop - the colorspace of the files have changed. Even though the value for the color still says RGB and the colorspace for the file is still RGB - upon export the file has converted to CYMK. I have been on the phone with Adobe - they can't figure it... any ideas???
Has been a while since I have done this. Would like to search metadata of a collection of images for all images containing (or not containing) a set of one or more terms. If one or more of you would please show me the workflow to get this going, I would be grateful.Best, jwc
When I try to load a TIFF file and select " Open in Camera Raw" I get this message, " Camera Raw Editing is not enable, camera raw editing requires that a qualify product has been launched at least once to enable this feature" Any ideas on how to fix this problem...Thanks!!
