Bridge

Hi, I have updated Bridge to the 2024 Version, Mac OS Ventura, however any Smart Collections I had do not work now. I have tried setting them up again, but it does not work. I am trying to find pdfs for each customer so I can refer to each job. This worked fine before the update. I have reset prefs/cache but this does not work.  Thanks

hi, I cant find where thy put the image processor in the new bridge.normaly is under tools- photoshop. can someone help? many thansk.pernille

This was an answer in a different post that I wrote but it needs its own thread, so hopefully Adobe progranmmers will fix this. I just found a WEIRD solution for the insanely high CPU when Bridge 2023 just sits there unused... it works and not sure why. If I start up on Bridge in the Essentals view, the CPU hits around 45-50% and temps go to 85-90C on my MSI M16 Content Creator laptop (Win 11 Pro, 12th gen proc). I've attached an image showing this. SO, at the bottom of the Bridge window, grab the slider that changes the view percentage, and drag it all the way left, so your thumbnails are super tiny. Your CPU should drop to 0.2% or so. Seriously. Then for me, I dragged the slider back up to about 40% which works for me size-wise, and it's holding steady quite nicely... Bridge is sitting there at less than 1%. I've left it running while I work in Photoshop on other stuff, and Bridge is quiet as a mouse. See screenshot.  The Filter area says there are 66  2-star files.  The count at the bottom of the screen says there are 132 items, which is correct.  Same for all of the other star counts in the Filter area - they are all wrong.

 Normaly while in Bridge I double click an image and it opens in camera Raw as it should. I edit it in camera raw and when I go to open it in PS by clicking the "open" button bottom right nothing happens. It just closes down and I'm back in Bridge without my edits being saved, Very frustrating.I just noticed that if while in Bridge, instead of double clicking an image to open in RAW as I normally do, if I right click on the image and select open in PS 2024, it opens in Camera Raw and then will open in PS when I click the "open" button at the bottom right. It's a workaround, but an annoying one to say the least. BTW, I'm running the most current versions of Bridge, ACR and PS.Thanks 

I used camera raw through adobe bridge to edit one of my images. Once I was finished with my edits, I saved it as a Tiff file. Then, I went back to edit it some more and save a second version of the image– also as a Tiff file. What I didn't realize was that when I saved this second version, it also changed the first version Tiff I exported. I thought once I saved a particular version as a Tiff it was untouchable and finshed the same way a png or jpeg would be, but I seem to have been wrong about that. Can anyone explain why this happened? Also, is there a way to get the first version with the initial edits back while still keeping the second version in tact?

Hi, my workflow in Bridge is to simply hit spacebar then go through all of my photos either deleting them or rating them, but for any HEIC files from my phone the quality is really low and they look really blurry. I've tried going Preferences -> Advanced and making sure 'Generate monitor-size previews' is checked and I've purged the cache but they're still the same as before. I do have the Windows 10 HEIC codecs installed and they open fine in Windows 10 Photos. Any suggestions please?

When reviewing images in Bridge, I use the right arrow key to advance to the next image.  I have noticed that Bridge will, on occasion (frequently but not every time), advance two images instead of moving to the next image in numerical order.  In more lay terms, the images should advance 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 but will often advance 1,2, 4, 5, 7, 9 etc. Does anyone know of a fix for this behavior? Thanks 

Adobe, the taker of my money and guardians of updates.Please, listen. V14 does nothing in the very import area of navigating, scrolling and culling of images on PC. NOTHING have happened since the release of v13.  Can you please contact me so the clever peaople at Adobe can connect to me and se the problem for themself? I really wnat to update, but it's impossible with the unpresedented slow performance. Please look at the videos. As you can see me scrolling it's really and incredible difference in performance between 12 and 13-14. This is V12This is 14

How do you unzip photoshop files in Bridge 2024?

I attempted to drag files from Box Drive v 2.35.95 (Mac Finder view) into Bridge v14.00.102 and they were immediately removed from Box. What is going on here? This looks to be a known issue. Help me understand why this ever was an issue and why it hasn't been addressed? 

I've had this issue with bridge for awhile. Updating to the newest version hasn't fixed it. If I go to my desktop it will show the pcitures folder multiple times, they disappear with a refresh. If I leave it open they will start to multiply. They are just shown multiple times not actually duplicates. Any way to fix this from happening? 

Hi guys! I selected som images to create an HDR file with Bridge and I got a window explaining me about an elaboration of the program. At the end of the process I got all the PSD with the HDR image. The original RAW have been saved by the process as something like they are together in a collection. How to remove them from the collection? (I want to label them but when I do that I can select just the first picture of the collection and id I want to select the one behind I have to click perfectly on the edge of the collection).I just got to open the collection and it appears like the photo uploaded, but I don't know how I did and how to go back to the closed view

Since updating to bridge 2024 when upload photos via file- get photos from camera when the file upload completes they folder created/images imported open in a secondary window. Why is this happening now and is there a way to stop it?

Bridge doesn't preview thumbnails video from panasonic S5 2.I have checked all settings mutiple times in Bridge and in VLC media player to make sure it should preview the thumbnails. It does preview video's from my Nikon z6 2.Does anyone know how to fix this?

Lo que permitía desarrollar ajustes de camara raw de una imagen a otra o a un grupo de imágenes. Ahora sólo se puede hacer a través del menú contextual, lo que es mucho más largo y tedioso. No parce que se pueda editar los métodos abreviados de teclado como se puede hacer en Photoshop.¿Alguna idea?

Year 2010 Bridge had a function to save the cache to folders.  Why has it been removed in the 2013 version? Feature request:  bring back the function to save the cache to folders.  This is better for file saving of individual folders (and their subfolders) rather than having to have one whopper sized Bridge Cache file.

There are some changes in the latest Bridge (compared to 2010) that have been useless.  Eg Metadata info in the Metadata panel has wastefully and unnecessarily been indented so the palette needs to be widened far more to be able to see the information.  +Why do the indent?  There was NOTHING achieved by it.So a feature request:  Do not indent the Metada information.

lightroom is great, easy to use and it is handy. but haw many of you prefer Adobe Bridhe over Lightroom? and why? 

I quite liked the look of the new Bridge (V13) but I have had numerous problems. Like looking at a photograph and then moving on and looking at another but it still keeps the first one selected. This is annoying when trying to edit one but catastrophic when you decide you want to delete ONE photo and it deletes two. Also I have found it keeps jumping all over the place with my photos. I am going through editing them and choose the next and it jumps to the top or the bottom ??  I have also noticed a weird problem with the screen flickering like pulsing. Not sure if the program does not like my graphics card but I have never had this issue before this update So its back to the previous version for me

I was excited to hear that Adobe added the ability to select the .jpg extension instead of always using .jpeg when exporting JPG files (because it allows me to directly overwrite the out-of-camera JPGs with their better processed versions), but when I tried that new capability, it had the undesired side effect of disabling the edits I made to the RAW (.nef) files if I exported the JPG to the same folder as the RAW file. This is a problem for me since I shoot RAW + JPG and prefer storing them in the same folder. This doesn't seem to happen if I export the JPG files to a different folder. But if I'm going to have to export them to another folder and then copy them back, it's almost as clunky as the writing to .jpeg and using bulk rename to change them to .jpg (and overwrite existing files) that I was doing before. I tracked down the issue to the .xmp files having their "AlreadyApplied" flag set to True. I have just updated from Bridge 13 to Bridge 14 (Win 10) and my Smart Colletions have been purged - The  Collection titles are there but there are NO parameters (Source, criteria etc.). I am able to recreate a Collection by re-entering the Source and Criteria but I'm pretty sure I shouldn't have to. If Bridge failed to import the Collections, I suspect I will find a lot of other settings that have not been imported. I had considered uninstalling and reinstalling Bridge 14, but if I do, what should I answer when asked whether or not to keep or remove notifications, alerts, settings, plugins ......etc.? I do not want to lose all the settings I have in Bridge 13. If the Install is defective, I fear the Uninstall will be just as bad.
