Im working wit AE for about 15+ Years. Since i can think AE was reliable in terms of opening old files in newer versions and also saving files from newer versions to older versions. As it turns out this is no longer valid. Ive tried to save an downword compatiable version off a new macbook AE 2026 to work on an other station with a AE 2023 on it. Since the other workstation has old but yet reliable hardware its not able to uptate AE higer than 2023. Now its just not anymor possible to save downward compatible files. you guys are just out of your mind.

Hello Adobe After Effects Team,I would like to report a reproducible issue that appears in newer versions of After Effects when using the GeoLayers 3 plugin.SummaryProjects that contain GeoLayers 3 compositions work normally in After Effects 24, but when the exact same project is opened in After Effects 25 or 26, After Effects displays PNGIO errors and the map fails to load.Error messages After Effects: AEGP Plugin PNGIO Support: PNGIO library error: bad adaptive filter value (5027::12) After Effects: AEGP Plugin PNGIO Support: PNGIO library error: IDAT: CRC error (5027::12) These errors appear when the GeoLayers map tiles are loaded.Key observation The same project file works perfectly in AE 24. Opening the project in AE 25 or AE 26 immediately triggers the PNGIO error. The issue only occurs with GeoLayers 3 content. Von jetzt auf gleich hat After Effects angefangen beim Warp Strabilisator nicht mehr zu analysieren.Darüber hinaus funktioniert der Dynamic Link Server scheinbar nicht mehr. Ich verknüpfe oft Adobe Premire Projekte mit After Effects Projekten.Jetzt geht gar nichts mehr.Adobe Premire spuckt nur noch einen Blackscreen aus. Davor kommt ab und zu noch Media Offline und Media pending obwohl die Pfade korrekt verknüpft sind. Teilweise werden zufällig Dateien offline angezeigt. Neuinstalkation/ Neustart/ Chache lösche/ CPU rendering Optionveränderungen haben keinen Unterschied gemacht. Manuelles Dynamic Link Server in Premire hinzufügen lässt das ganze System aufhängen. 

Hi Adobe, after updated to After Effect V.26, one of my keyboard shortcut has been broken by the latest Parametric Mesh feature.I’ve customized my “Add to Render Queue” button to "Shift + D” to my workflow, but the latest Parametric Mesh uses this shortcut. I tried to remap the Parametric Mesh to “Shift + option + D” but it keeps overiding and remapping it back to “Shift + D”. I have no choice but to remap my own shortcut for the time being, much to the detriment of my own productivity.This is extremely annoying and I would appreciate a fix as soon as possible, thank you for your attention to this matter!

Gradient rendering issue (Grayscale) in Lottie/Bodymovin after After Effects 2026 (v26.0) update Issue: After updating to After Effects 2026 (v26.0), all gradients are being rendered in black and white (grayscale) when exported via the Lottie (Bodymovin) extension. The same project worked perfectly in the previous version (v25.x). Details: Setup: I am using standard Shape Layer Gradient Fills (not Layer Styles). Symptoms: All gradients in the project lose their color data and appear as grayscale in the exported JSON file and Lottie players. Suspected Cause: It seems like a compatibility issue between the new Color Management system (OCIO/Color Engine) in AE 2026 and the Lottie export data structure. Tested Workarounds: Changing Project Settings (Color Working Space to 'None') or saving the project before export does not resolve the issue in v26.0. When I hover over a clip in Premiere, a gray box appears with the clip’s properties. If I toggle to After Effects with a keyboard shortcut without moving the mouse, the gray box remains. It doesn’t matter if I move the mouse now that I’m in AE, the box stays and shows the properties from the clip I hovered on in Premiere.  I’m in Premiere 26.0.2 and After Effects 26.0, but this has been an issue for a few versions.

Hello there,We are experiencing rendering issues with our EXRs in After Effects 25.4.Our images appear with several horizontal black lines at regular intervals, dividing the vertical image into 14 equal horizontal segments.These lines are 1 pixel high and transparent.The rendered EXRs do not present any rendering issues in Photoshop or After Effects 25.3.2.The EXRs are high resolution (4984x3584 pixels), come from 3dsmax/Vray, and are encoded in DWAB.Given that patch note 25.4 specifies improvements to EXR processing, it is possible that this is where the problem lies.No effect are in the scene, no nothing. Only the EXR sequence.The lines are not necessarily visible at the top of the composition and do not appear on all frames. I’ve noticed that during rendering a complete software crash occurs of After Effects 2026 during rendering with the latest nvidia graphics rtx driver for 4070 super -579.79 for both studio and graphics driver which are the same version, updated march 10 2026 - . After restarting the software, thanks to your programmers, the problem points to boris fx’s Sapphire Effect’s WarpBubble2 plugin. I have downgraded my nvidia driver to 595.71 and have been able to render normally without any crashes or malfunctions.I wanted to report this, as other parts of the software or GPu related plug-ins might fall into this issue. Regards. 

I’m working in linear ACEScg and I’m having an issue with AE motion blur clipping the highlights of footage when it’s active and the layer is set to ADD. The elements are interpreted correctly and works just fine until motion blur is enabled. I have the element on black in the examples below. You can see the scopes on the left where the motion blur is off has very bright highlights, and when the Motion blur is on those same highlights get clipped. Luckily, Lighten does work in these shots, but Add should not be clipping source. the only change is that Motion blur is enabled. This should not be happening.  

There are pale yellow HUDs that follow the cursor when mousing over the Graph Editor. When a layer and it’s keyframes have been stretched (via Time Stretch), the speed graph HUD shows the value (eg. in px/sec) as they would be if the layer was NOT stretched. This is incorrect and misleading, especially if the Stretch column is hidden.

I reinstalled my computer. My previous local fonts are not available anymore. I open a project I was working on, get this message. Ok, it works. But the problem is that after I click ok, after effects is not showing the missing fonts. I have no clue which fonts I am missing and it would take a lot of work to manually set all the text layers again. 

Getting this UI on my after effects whenever i try to change the color or anything. Is there any fix to this???

I updated After effects Beta to it’s latest Version (26.2) and then I find out that the new Object mask is not working, no brush no select .. nothing at all in the latest update of after effects Beta 26.2.the brush is not appearing to select any object, no object is going to be highlighted to select and isolate.

 Because it’s actually impossible to comp anything with highlights without them becoming inverted. These invalited pixels you are seeing here are only 1.100-1.500. They are not overly bright yet this happens. It’s a joke. Stop messing about without AI crap and fix the basics. This just a white line being screen over the top of my CG. It could not get any more simple. Adobe, you are a joke.

I migrated my preferences from 25.6 to v26.0. Now I can’t edit my custom shortcuts anymore. “After Effects warning: Invalid menu operation” appears, and then the program crashes. I’ve provided the .txt file that causes this error.

I made a team project on the AE and have created my .aep file as usual. Upon saving and exporting the final video. I’ve learned that the project file cannot be saved. I have searched online for it but I cannot find the same issue in this current version.Someone has suggested I use the “reveal project in finder” feature but it doesn’t work either. I have tried finding the location of the file through Finder app in Mac but the filename does not show. When I tried looking for the file location, I checked the original preferences of the application but project does not show in the location. Original folders of the adobe projects show 0 bytes too.When I close the team project and the application itself, the project shows up in the recently opened menu. I also tried opening it in adobe cloud storage but it does not show up. Good thing the file still opens even after closing the application. How can I save the project?Posting screenshots here as well.

If I turn a 2D layer into a 3D layer in the Advanced 3D renderer, the layer glitches. This has been happening to a image I placed behind 3D shapes, but occurs no matter what I placed in the comp (footage, images, .eps files). This only seems to occur when Advanced 3D renderer is selected (which is what I want to use), not in Classic 3D or Cinema 4D renderer. In the example attached, the 2D image layer is a starry sky scene and should turn into a 3D layer I can move behind my 3D shapes. Objects are turning black, disappearing, and flickering. I didn't make any edits or anything since I last worked on it (worked fine then) but when I opened my computer to the open file it started glitching. I exited out of the document without saving because I assumed my previous save from when it worked normally would save me. When I opened my save from before the glitch, it was still glitching, and it got even worse. My layers are mostly imported from Illustrator, but I didn't touch the file I had on there either. The layers in the project window also show up mostly all black when I look at their previews, although I am new at AE so unsure if this is common. I am working on a Mac and the program should be up to date. Any ideas on what could make individual art objects flicker or turn black?  

When I try to change a font on a text layer, it gives me “After Effects warning: Unknow BIB Error: Probable invalid access, CT, 0 ( 83 :: 3 )”, specifically when I write only “si” in the properties panel. This is the first time that this problem has occurred. Prior to this problem happening, I downloaded 4 fonts from Adobe Fonts: ‘Cheddar Gothic’, ‘Six Hands’, ‘JohnDoe’, and ‘Papyrus’. As I went in After Effects and tried to change the font to an already existing text layer and started typing “si” (only with the letters si together) in the properties panel to select the ‘Six Hands’ font it gave me this error, for the first time. (I have a video of the problem) I tested a couple of things to see if it would be tied to that font, I deleted it, tried again and it did the same thing. The confusing part is, when I typed only “s” in the fonts properties panel, I scrolled down to the ‘Six Hands’ font, selected it and didn’t have a problem of using it in the project (I forgot to record this pa

Hi all, I am experiencing weird flickering when I apply taper to smoothed (bezier) trim paths. They seem to work fine if I keep them linear, but smoothing the curves brings out random errors in the animation. Tried smoothing the anchor points in Illustrator before bringing them to AE, but the problem still shows.Even though this example curve comes from AI, the same issue can be recreated with simple curves created on a shape layer.Tried switching GPU/CPU rendering, no luck.Currently on Win 10, AE 22.6.0, but I was able to recreate the same issue on different versions of AE 2023 on a couple of different computers.Any ideas how to fix this?Thanks!  

This error completely breaks projects. There seems to be no way to fix it whatsoever. Cannot be opened, cannot be imported into another project. Nothing.  Windows 10, AMD 5950, 4070 GPU, all AE versions
