Hi @Christine Goldby, thanks for all of your work here on the support community site. I've been testing the new After Effects 3d features this week for use on our web-video project. The project requires 3d artwork to be rendered out in .webm format with transparency support. It seems the only way to get .webm output out of Adobe products is using an external plugin from www.fnordware.com This enables the Media Encoder (Beta) to output in .webm format w/ transparency, but I have run into some issues with ME rendering Adobe After Effects (Beta) files that include 3d objects. - Compositions including an .obj file are able to be rendered out, but the renderer ignores the 3d layers in the composition.- Compositions including a .glb file are not even recognised by the Media Encoder, you receive a "Could not locate file" error. Both of these errors occur while using the Mercury rendering engine. For now I've found a workaround by outputting a Quicktime .MOV from A
Can't assign F10 Key in keyboard editor or in custom .keys file. Why. Steps: Try to assign f10 "That key may not be reassigned." Try to edit keyboard shortcut file so I can use F10 for my Designated purpose....keyboard file reverts to earlier state.
When I updated to the latest update to After Effects Beta, I opened the project, but this thing appears to me, and when I click on OK, the program exits
Interpret Footage --> Main --> Seperate Fields --> "Upper Field First" and "Lower Filed First" shows identical field.This also appears in non beta versions.
Hello, I made a very simple video using Mercury 3D , but when I render it using After Effects itself, it says an error with code 1, and when I use Media Encoder (beta), the video is rendered like this, what is the solution? I even deleted the plugins that I put in the video, but it also gave me the same result
Hello! I inserted an Adjustment Layer with Tint to change the color of the iMac (3d object). When using this adjustment, the 3d depth field is lost, and the layer hierarchy is assumed. Look at the attached prints.
Updated to 23.4 yesterday. After several uninstall -reinstalls these past 2 days, had to revert back to 23.3 as program wouldn't launch in 24.4 and kept notifying me upon launch that the beta program file was corrupted.
AE beta v23.4.028Windows 10 22H2 19045.2728 DWAA/DWAB EXR, 2 puzzlematte layers rendered via Redshift in C4D 2023.1. Expected result: applying eXtractor should allow me to view the puzzlemattes as single colour layers. Actual behaviour: eXtractor does nothing when applied to EXR layers. Vanilla AE playback is fine.
I've just sent 3 items to render, and got this weird message about the name of the output module. Whaaaat?? Who cares if the output module's name is already in use - I'm not changing the output module settings - I just selected one of the presets (H.264 - Match Render Settings - 40 Mbps...but it doesn't matter which one I choose...it could be ProRes444....anything), hit Render, and got the error. Exporting things one at a time fixes the problem.I'm on AE Beta 23.4.0x28, Windows 10 Oh yes - and I still often get the "The directory originally specified in the selected output module no longer exists." error, so I have to click on the output filename to choose the exact file location that AE has already set.
Hey, the new AE beta introduced a progress bar that is displayed while a script is being executed. Now I get why this might be useful in certain circumstances. However, I have my own progress bars included within my scripts and it's kind of annoying to suddenly have two progress bars popping up at the same time, especially since AE's progress bar does not display specific information regarding the progress in question compared to the custom progress bars within my scripts. I looked into the user preferences, however, there was no option to turn off the progress bar as there is for example for the warning message when executing files. Now, maybe there is an option to do that already that I'm not aware of. If it doesn't exist, would be possible to add a checkbox like this in the preferences for (de)activating the progress bar? While working with only a few 3d layers in basic 3D, not only panel redimension is extremely slow, also it seems the composition gets weird proportions in the display. Even though the scaling dimension is not changed.Video preview attached.My system: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8750H CPU // 32gb RAM // Nvidia RTX 2060Latest After Effects update 22.2.0 suffers the same issue!
Hi there! I've got my 3d object in my composition and it is extremely whitewashed. Still whitewashed on export to video. Any ideas on how to change it back to its original color?
I'm about to go crazy. please help!I'm trying to sequence my layers, and it's keeping all of them at the same start point, but making the dissolve I've added. I have no idea why it's happening, because I was able to do it right before. I picked the end point of the layers by using alt+].I did manage to Sequence the layers by clicking "new comp from selection" in the project files, but then I couldn't set my desired duration for the layers.
I have been using AE Beta and having no issues until I've tried rendering out some animated 3d objects and seem to have some weird ghost purple boxes that are not on the original file, anyone know a work around for this?
Hi I'm playing around with the 3D functionality in the beta. I have imported a textured obj file. It works fine. In the project manager I can even see it's texture file (psd). That's really cool. However if I open that texture file in Photoshop and edit it, the change doesn't happen in AE. Since you are linking to the texture file it would be cool if I could update that or even switch it out for another. Another related bug. Once I have imported a obj with a texture file. If I delete the obj from AE. Change the texture file. Export the obj with the same name or another. It will still not update the texture file. It is as if it has already been used, it will be stuck with it. The only way to update the texture is to duplicate the texture and give it a new name, re-export the obj and then load it. - Jakob
Hello, I have encountered an issue where when I try to add a 3D object into my composition, it completely fails to show the object correctly. (Sometimes its just missing, others some "ghost" components show up. By ghost I mean the following:I export my OBJs from Fusion360 , there are multiple components in my Fusion design, but I export a specific body as an OBJ and then other bodies, not the one I exported randomly show up in the view of after effects. After restarts, the issue randomly goes away/comes back.
I'm using the latest AE Beta and I downloaded a brain 3D model (obj) from the Adobe stock. Each time I import the file, the model is never whole. I've toggled the 3d Draft on and off, no difference. the same goes for when I change resolutions from half to full. Would anyone know as to why the model is not whole?My system: I tried fbl format, I would then get the rainbow cube. Quite the unpleasant tease this is....
Importing multiple .obj leads to duplicates of previously added objects when dragged to timeline. Using beta 23.3.0 build 11. I then imported glb and it rendered the correct newly added object.
When using multi-view (4 or 2) I am getting the same viewpoint in all four cameras. Exited and reentered multiview and still happening. Hovering over objects shows where they should be rendering to. Just updated to AE Beta 23.3.0 but was having this issue with prvious version too.
Hi there. Since I saw you all tweaking the colorama's color picker for the next update, It would be nice to change that color wheel to the default shape layer's gradient interface as well. I've worked in a lot of projects in the past that we needed to position the colors precisely on the wheel but it was hard to achive it without a percentage slider parameter like we have on the shape layer's gradient interface. That would be awesome and thank you!
The memory and performance bug keeps appearing on a non heavy project in the After Effects Beta app + After Effects 2023. I have plenty RAM and have tried all possible solutions to stop this problem, fix this bug please.
When slecting and moving keyframes in the timeline, there's a lag and "stickiness" where they will continue to move with the mouse instead staying in place.
Has anyone else come across this?AE won't start just keeps erroring this and creating dump files on desktop 😕😕 Been testing the Beta since it was open to public, first time something like this happend. I thought maybe it was a faulty build they released but in the last week there were already two new updates and the error is still showing 😞
