Substance P is crashing when I open any file...well, I don't even have to open it. As soon as I open the HHD drive then navigate to the folder Substance closes. Should I copy my working files to an SSD drive? I am using HFS+Paragon to read a Mac SSD drive on Windows(Says in the documentation this could be causing a problem). I deleted it but the problem still occurred. I am not sure what to do next. I attached the log file.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks,Paul

HelloAfter update Substance Painter from 7.4 version to 8.1, if i try to save the scene, or export textures, it will crash and corrupt the scene without warning, and even the autosave appears corrupted. I have updated my drivers, and the local disc C it's not full at all.The specs of my computer:Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10920X CPU @ 3.50GHz64 RamNVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 TiAny idea of what is causing this problem?Thanks.y de Topic

Hi, I have a an Alienware X10 Ryzen with RTX 3090 setup with 3 Samsung U28E590 monitors attached running the latest version of Painter. When I move some of the windows from Painter (e.g. Assets and Properties window) to another screen, exit Painter and restart then Painter will white screen and be frozen. It actually shows the main window of Painter in white and the 2 other windows (in black) on the other monitor bnut then everything is frozen (no menus or other content is visible in the windows they are just blank canvases).In order to resolve the issue I can delete the "Ma1in window 2018" from the registry, but then my layout goes back to the default Painter layout which of coursew defeats the whoile purpose of having multiple monitors.I've tried all the other suggestions from other thread like turning VSync off, or lowering framerate etc, nothing has worked thusfar.
After reinstalling the system, Substance Painter can't be used. I reinstalled the system again, and he still can't. Win10 doesn't work either. After updating the graphics card, it still doesn't work. I've been tortured for four days. Tried switching three Substance Painter versions. But I can use Substance Alchemist. Neither Substance Painter/Substance Designer will work.
Hello, everyone. Unfortunately, for a few weeks I have massive problems loading the thumbs of my materials. Even after minutes there is no preview and with every restart Painter keeps reloading, often working and saving is then also blocked. Does anyone have any idea what's causing this?Both substance Painter and my graphics card are on the latest version Best Wishes

When I use substance painter and then switch to iray the colours shift much lighter and greyer. i wan to keep the colours consistent - how do I solve this?
I'm running into an error in which my texture sets are not applying properly to my model, creating distortion when I try to apply materials. For reference, here is what my model looks like when I apply a UV Border Distance generator to a basic material: The weird part is that the texture maps themselves, when I review them, don't look too out of the ordinary - I attempted to use texture maps that were baked within substance painter, as well as texture maps that I baked in marmoset to test it out. I have attached my log file to this post, and I have a zip drive with my scene, meshes, texture maps, and log file here.
For our own asset pipeline construction, we need to use SP's custom channel as a data map. The custom shader then reads the texture as the basis for rendering. Textures are generated by the texture generator created by SD. Reference file: temporaryPlan.spp, see Shader: Toon.glsl, as shown. Render the final result correctly Layer settings Cartoon Map User Channel SP defaults to premultiplied UVs and expands the channel map, which causes the data map to not read as expected, as shown. Reference file: bad.spp, as shown. render result Data channel error due to premultiplied UVs Because the relevant settings were not found, and the related API could not close the texture premultiplication and expansion for a certain channel. So try to use another auxiliary patch with fully unwrapped UVs to solve the problem. &

In the Adobe creative cloud app, it prevents me from keeping the latest versions when I wanna install an older version of painter.Is there a different way to get two versions to work on my pc?I need different versions of painter for different clients. Before creative cloud, I was always able to have more than one version installed.
Hi there, If I try to view my individual channels, they have become invisible. If I alt+left click on the layer thumbnail or if I select on any channel from the channel drop down menu, the mesh disappears. I have included a screenshot of my mesh with the Material Channel selected, then a picture of what I see when I try to view a single channel below it. That picture looks blank becuase my mesh disappears in my channels. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix this? Thanks!
when i try to load obj files the software bombs out? is this correct?
Hi guys,I'm using right now substance painter and it crashes almost everytime I change a texture set.I am not sure what is causing this problem as my computer is in the optimal category of the system requirements in the documentation.the file is quite heavy but i'm not sure if it's that heavy (4.53 gb)it usually happens when I made a change and substance needs to update it and then switch texture set while the bar is still "loading", especially after I work on a file a lot. it's sort of annoying because I need to save the file every time I want to switch texture set, which is not terribly bad but it's still pretty annoying.If there's a fix I'd be extremely happy, as I need to finish my work in 2 days...Thanks guys!
In my project I have a layer which adds a hexagonal white, nonmetalic patten, it is a fill layer with a black mask with a tile generator.Suddenly, my model looked like my first image, I wasn't able to figure out why. Repeatedly my current material set went totally matte black then crashed. I restarted my pc and found the source to be 2 normal map fill layers and this grip color layers.The Normal maps were producing similar effects to the images of the strange checkered pattern, even when hidden. I deleted those and then found that I could toggle the effect on and off with my grip layer.I turned it on and off and got these screenshots. I save as'd the project to save the problem.To fix it I copied the grip height layer as it is just a modified version of the same layer with the intention of undoing the changes from color to height with a bevel. But strangely, after copying the layer and enableing color, the previously broken layer started behaving perfectly normally. If anyone know
Since some days (after updating i guess) my imported materials looks strange. On a Mack M1 Macbook pro, Painter latest Version. If i place material on a mesh (wood/metal) i get no structure. either only a reflection or just the main color of the material...Thank you for any helpLaas
I have been using Substance Painter since 2015 and never had issues, since the latest update on Steam though (16th June) many of my own smart materials are unusable. Painter starts reading them and generating thumbnails and at some point it stops and will hang in there forever. And I mean forever, I have left it running for the whole night and nothing, it won't read that specific materials. I must delete it, crash the tool and go on until the next material it doesn' like. Crash, move/delete the material, move on.All this just to manage to have the bare minimum of materials and tools I normally use to work.Not to mention that even when it works it takes forever to load materials with thumbnails already generated, so all this back and forth means hours before I can even start working. Before I dived into figuring out this problem, this happened also while I was working and all its hanging in generating thumbnails meant no possibility at all to save my work, so whenever th
I have a couple of these types of shading, like a smoothing issue but I'm pretty sure that the surfaces are well smoothed, what could be the problem? Also not an overlapped geometry problem
Suddenly I'm having this issue, only the onscreen panel is broken, I can't load textures or even change channels or use the alt-click function, etc. But, the floating panel is working! ????
Hello, I’ve correctly setup my Omniverse Nucleus and exchange seems to work from Substance painter to Create, but not when I first load a mesh into Create and then want to import it into Substance painter. In Substance Painter I have this message [Script] file:///C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Substance 3D Painter/qml/AlgWidgets.2/AlgScrollView.qml:101:5: QML ColumnLayout: Binding loop detected for property "y" Not sure what's the issue, I can sync files already imported in Substance Painter, they load correctly in Create and they update perfectly so it's just the import mesh from Omninverse to Substance Painter that doesn't seem to work. Is this a known bug ? Thanks
Hello everyone!I'm having a very weird problem and would be greatful if someone could help me...Whenever I try to change the resolution of my project from ''2k to 4k'', or ''2k to 1k'' half of my textures stop working or dont show properly.Which Is something that never happened before and I can't find anywhere a reason for that or a way to fix it.Project in 2kWhen changed to 4k And remaking the project cannot be a solution as again I never had this problem before...
