I am currently using Substance 3D Painter 7.4.3 on Windows 11 and it seems that the exporter is not respecting the output templates for exporting textures. For example the height and normal channels for metallic rough are set to be saved as 16bit images (by default with a completely fresh install) but inside the settings where I can do overwrites it saves those channels as 8bit. The same thing happens with custom templates. Something seems to overwrite the template and forces to export as 8bit. Inside the override settings I can go in and manually change to 8bit + dithering or 16bit but fixing that every time manually is kind of annoying and shouldn't be the case if the templates says otherwise.I also attached 2 screenshots to clarify what I mean.Hope somebody can help me resolve this issue.

Hello all, Please, I need urgent help, this is a time sensitive issue since I have a deadline set to this Friday. I use SP on a daily basis. Yesterday everything was working fine. I have the auto-update enabled on my Creative Cloud and the software updated overnight.Today, when I opened SP, I have noticed several warnings to the Log related to Python. Then, the majority of my Materials, Smart Materials, Masks, Brushes and virtually all tools are endlessly loading and impossible to use. (See pictures) Even a Plug-In which I use daily have disapeared. When I opened a previous file, I wasn't able to edit it as I usually would do, by turning some hidden layers on and hiding other ones. It simply loads forever, making a ton of files that I prepared completely useless. (See image as well. While using Substance Painter 2021.3.0 in Linux, I cannot access any of the OCIO colour management options. I've tried looking in the 'New Project' & 'Project Configuration' windows, as oultined by this page: https://substance3d.adobe.com/documentation/spdoc/color-management-with-opencolorio-225969419.html Is this a known limitation of the Linux version of Substance Painter? Are there any plans to update this? Thanks, Joe

I can no longer manually fix AO or normal maps by going from cobine to replace under the texture set settings. I will have to roll back and use v7.4 utill this is fixed.

Hello everyone, some meshes are not rendering / showing in SP. I exported my scene from Maya as FBX. Any ideas? I'm totally new at this, thanks. 

I've recently run into this issue where every time I open and click on the steam edition of Substance Painter 2022, it causes my mouse to slighlty and constantly drift to the right when using the program. The issue persists outside the program as well until I type and enter text within a seprate window. The instant I click back in the Substance window, the problem occurs once more. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program but the issue persists. I'm honestly not sure why this keeps happening and any solutions would be greatly appricated as this minor incovienence causes painting directly on a model to be quite frustrating. Version: Substance Painter 2022 V:7.4.3 (Steam Edition)OS: Windows 10 64-bit

Whenever I paint a stroke on any surface, instead of getting a smooth size transition, I get a very weird stepping artifact (image below). I have already reinstalled absolutely everything (drivers for both Painter and Huion tablet, video card, etc) and had no success fixing the problem at all. Also, I tried several different pressure sensitivity adjustments on the tablet software and none of them have worked.  Here is some other important info: My Substance Painter version: 7.4.3 (I had the issue on all versions I tried though);My tablet: Huion KAMVAS 22 Plus;My GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, Driver version: 30.0.15.1259 (I had the issue on all versions I tried though);My CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1800X Eight-Core Processor 3.60 GHz;Installed RAM: 32 GB.  I will appreciate any kind of help as I DO need the tablet to work properly on Substance Painter as this is the software I rely on work-wise.  Thanks in advance! 

Hello.I have been using Substance painter since 2017 and never once experienced the following issue:The brush "Shahn" which is set to jitter by default is creating a massive mess. And so do most of the others (!). For some reason when going over a texture island into the next, the brush flips randomly into another direction and messes up the stroke direction. Also jitter brushes do NOT correctly transfer over the seam into the next Island. Please watch the video and follow what the brush does (switching angle and strokes don't transfer properly):As I have mentioned, this was never like this before when I last used the Software in mid 2021.Is it somehow possible to download the earlier builds (the one with the "Dragon Splash Screen")?Currently it's unusable Thank you. 

I've posted a week ago about this issue, sorry for the repeat, but if I don't squeak, this wheel falls off. I'm in the Trial version, the doumentation is clear enough, as is the video tutorial on working with UDIMs, new project> link to fbx> enable Preserve UV tile layout, link to textur maps, I should see all my UDIM tiles under a single Texture Set, they're each in separate ones. The tiles map correctly to teh mesh when I assign them, but I can't well paint across them. I have a perpetual Mari 2 license, need to move on, but this product not featuring tech support, I'm being directed to the forums and read that the team closely monitors for issues. It's been a week, not exactly encouraging for prospective converts. Thanks for any ideas.

Hi guys, I'm using AMD Radeon Pro w5500 with 8gb ram, but my Substance crash / freeze /  when I try to paint on object. If I pause Engine Computation it paint but does not update on viewport so it is unusable. I already try suggested solutions on forum. Any ideas ? 

I can't say this is a bug, given I'm newb, but when I create a new project, link to fbx, add maps formatted to U1V1, and enable Preserve UV Tile layout, I see each of the seven UV tiles under Texture Set List, alas each within a separate Texture Set, as opposed to grouped within just one. And thoughts what's causing this? Thanks!

Hi, I've had ongoing issues with Substance Painter (and Sampler) crashing.  Rather than load, they just open to the Bug Report window ("Substance Painter didn't shut down correctly" etc.).  I then have the option of submitting a report or clicking 'Cancel', neither of which ever lead to the programs loading up.  I have attached the text log. If anyone could please help, that would be great, thanks, Jordan.

Hello, my name is daniel, im currently doing a Master degree in 3D Character and creature art, but now im afraid cause i dont know if im going to keep doing it...the reason, im getting my .spp file corrupted over and over literally everyday, the error is always related to .image files or "resources" that couldn´t load, and i dont unerstand it, i tried everything from creating a new file, baking again and re-importing spsm mats to reinstall substance painter in a different location but nothing worked... Im so desperate because i need this to graduate..so if anyone could get me out of this nightmare would be so much aprecciated, thanks.

When the texture map is mapped by the mapping tool, color blocks are found in 8K while 4k is normal. How should I solve this problem

Hello,I'm using the Steam version of Substance Painter on a Mac Studio with Monterey 12.4. Each time I launch Substance Painter it asks me for permissions to record the screen or to access some folders, even after giving those permissions, as you can see on the screenshots. I can't use the software because of that. What should I do ?  

Hello, I recently downloaded a version of Substance Painter 2 and Substance Designer 5 on my new laptop because I wanted to work with 3D texturing on the go, but whenever I try to launch either program, I will get a blank white screen followed by the program failing to launch. These two programs work perfectly fine on my desktop though. Am I allowed to work with these programs on two separate computers? Can't I still use these old licenses? I recently switched from Substance Painter 2020 to 2022. When I apply many smart materials to objects, you see no color on the parts. You see the normal affecting the surface, but it just looks grayscale. This happens with woods and other smart materials. For example, one called Wood Planks. You see the planks, but no colors. Other smart materials, like red painted steel shows red, but looks extremely "flat"... like a 2d cartoon. When I examine the component layers I see many of the thumbnails look transparent. You can see what I mean here: Adobe Substance 3D Painter - woodchairSPP-8_autosave_1 (gyazo.com) When I load the same model in Substance Painter 2020, the smart materials work fine and as expected. I uninstalled SP 2022 and reinstalled it, but still have the same problem. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, if a parameter is whacky, or if there is just a problem with SP 2022. At this point, 2022 is unusable for me and I've gone back to 2020. It is not

Is anyone else having viewport issues with Substance Painter lately? Everything is baked correctly. If i rotate in the viewport, sometimes it will disappear, sometimes it wont. Just wanted to ask here, before i submitted something to the Adobe forums.

After installation and subsequent launch of the program, (Substance Painter 7.1.1) the logo appears, and after a few seconds it displays the message "The program has stopped working". How to solve the problem?Operation system - Windows 8.1 64-bitBefore that, everything worked on Windows 7 and 10 versions.P.S. There is no way to roll back to another system.

I made this model in Moi, exported it to Blender where the shading is perfect, UV unwrapped it and then exported it as obj again before importing it in Substance Painter. It seems Painter is not importing the normals properly so I am getting those ugly triangle strip artefacts on a flat surface. Perhaps it is not taking note of sharp edges. What should I do here? I've run into a situation such as this while rendering with displacement in Houdini and the way I've fixed it there by remeshing while keeping the existing edges around. Still, I'd like to deal with this problem without having to add extra geometry since I am not using displacement here. Turning tesselation off doesn't fix the problem here so the issue is probably not related to that. 

I am getting this error as a pop-up when i start the software as well as in the log, when I am actually inside of SP. The GPU is fully updated, and the version is newer than what the error says is a minimum requirement. So I am a bit confused. Can someone help me understand why this is happening and how to fix it? 

HelloWhile trying to instal the KeyShot 9+ into Painter, i get a massage to enter password for addministration permit. [macOS 11.6.5]I'm the admin [and sole user] for this computer, plus there is no place that i can find for entering a passowrd.the massage read klick authenticate, but there is nowhere i can find to authenticate in .  thanks a lotakash  

Hello, We are developping plugins for Substance Painter and we want to perform some automated tests during the developement of those plugins.We are using an FRL liscence version on the machines that are executing those tests, but even with that, we are having an issue. During our tests, when we open Substance, we have this warning that says "Are you connected to the Internet" with the message "We can't verify your subscription status". Here's a screenshot of the exact message, it's from the report generated by our tests:The thing is the machine is connected to the internet and if I'm connected with RDP on the machine it will work correctly, but if I disconnect from my RDP session, this pop up will happened every time and prevent Substance from every open. Do anyone have ever had a similar issue? Do you know a possible solution? That would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance,Pascal

Hello.I have strange color exports in Substance Painter 7.4.3 on OSX Monterey, they are very dark. If I take se same file on PC the colors are correct.I tried to compasate with a gamma but it's not the same.Exactly same file: left is PC export, right is OSX Export : Is it a bug or did I miss something ?

Hello, I just bought substance painter (creative cloud desktop) but the softwear doesn't open (it doesn't respond). I already got PS and LR that run correctly. I even changed my regional settings as i saw somewhere in the discussions but it didn't work for me.I don't understand where's the trouble comes from.Thank you for your help.
