I have discovered this twice today after many hours of painting several lines across my spaceship model to create panel lines. It will seem as though everything is working fine, but at a certain point I will realize that detail I have added will just disappear. I save often, and the lines will still be present after saving- I'm not sure when it is happening or what is causing this work to disappear. I did not reimport model at any point- it was imported when I originally created the Painter file. For the layer, I am using a fill layer with a black mask and painting the lines as white lines to the mask, rather than painting in a regular layer. My next step will be to just use a regular layer, which may or may not fix the issue. The model has a fairly large set of UDIMs (41 total). Is Painter just unable to handle that many UDIMs (sized at 4k)? Or has anyone else experienced this before and found what might be causing it?
I got an error when doing bake ambient occlusion. the AO display looks inappropriate, with strange patterns, completely unable to detect the angles on my object. On all the 3D objects that I use, the results are the same. Here I give an example of only using a cube because the results will be more certain, it is impossible to experience a wrong backface or UV. but the result is still like this. what do I have to do ? This bug occurred suddenly.
Hello. This is ongoing issue for almost a month ( I checked previous threads ).1. Nothing in spam folder2. Code can magically be send manually by a support team member, but not automatically.3. Identit-e support team told me that issue is purely on Adobe's side. Why this is not fixed yet? If you want to force student to buy product instead - don't give them false hope and just say so.
Since the latest update of Substance Painter I keep getting the white wall of never ending sorrow. The white fog of a crashed start. I have a Huion drawing tablet that I used with all the previous versions.... until now. The only solution I have found to be able to run the program is to 3. Reset Interface:If the problem is related to window placement, reset the interface to its default layout within Substance Painter's settings. I do this by deleting a folder within the reg edit and delete a preference folder. This resets substance and as long as I have it load on one of my main screens (not the tablet) it loads up. I have to do this everytime - this is ridiculous! I dont have any trouble with Photoshop so why am I getting this issue with sub painter. I have the latest Huion driver and Ive been through your conflict list. If it was anything else it would not load at all - it is down to that folder having to be deleted everytime. Please can sombody give me a more permanent sol
Hello, I have followed other forums about this issue but to no avail. I've tried creating multiple diffrent emails (both gmail and outlook ones), I've tried using diffrent search engines in case that was interfearing, and I've even gone through old emails to see if there waas a way to request it from there, but again, to no avail. Dose anyone know a fix for this? I'm able to put all my details into the "submit your request" section, but im just not reciving the confirmation email after checking my spam folder and everything. Hello, I successfully entered my email to apply for the Adobe Substance 3D Education version, and the page confirmed it was submitted. However, I never received any verification or approval email, even after checking all folders (inbox, spam, etc.). I contacted customer service, but they said the education/free version is not within their support scope and told me to ask here instead.

I've submitted 2 seperate gmails to test this. I've waited 2-3 days, yet I have recieved nothing. Nothing in my spam nor junk files. I've tried to resubmit the request, yet it says "UniqueID already exists". So I'm assuming the request is still being handled, but I doubt it should take this long.
(I'll replace it with a link with the same symptoms instead of a picture) Every time I bake, I get a weird pattern during the baking process and it doesn't bake very well. It only comes in Ao, curvature, and thickness. Is there a solution? On February 4, 2025, a post with the same symptoms as mine came up and I heard it was an Nvidia driver issue. Is there an update on this issue? Hello. I'm experiencing crashes when painting on a mesh. Usually it happens after multiple strokes, first it freezes and after a while just crashes. I increased Tdr delay to 60, still it happened again. I can play with parameters, manipulate, add layers etc. everything is stable except when painting. I also have some active work in progress python plugins that are bit buggy right now and giving errors, although nothing that should cause instability when painting (this is just my personal assumption though). I'll diasable/remove them later to see if this fixes the problem, meanwhile maybe semeone have an idea what might by another possible the cause. Next issue, although minor one is that after I load the file and do something it starts to compute, which usually takes like 10-15 minutes, eating almost entire VRAM, but after it finishes it's quite responsive, no more long calculations whatsoever. Hi everyone,I'm experiencing a critical issue with Substance 3D Painter 2025 (Steam Edition) version 11.0.1.The software was working perfectly until yesterday, when I tried to open two projects at the same time. One of them was particularly heavy and failed to load. Since that moment, the application has stopped working entirely.After the splash screen with the dragon appears, the program immediately freezes and becomes unresponsive. I never reach the UI.Here’s what I’ve tried so far:Fully uninstalled Substance Painter via SteamManually deleted all related folders:AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Substance 3D PainterAppData\Local\Adobe\Adobe Substance 3D PainterDocuments\Adobe\Adobe Substance 3D PainterReinstalled the application from scratchDespite this clean reinstall, the program still hangs on launch and does not recreate the log folders or any user data.System specs:CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3950XGPU: NVIDIA RTX 4090 (Studio Driver 572.83)OS: Windows 11 ProAny suggestions or help would be great
Hi,I am new to using substance painter and I have an issue where my obj that I have exported from clo 3d isn't loading in substance painter. I have made sure that my patterns peices don't overlap in the UV editor, not sure if there is another issue there. I was able to open the file in blender and also 3d stager but not 3d painter.My settings are attached below: I also need to have UV Tile settings checked for my workfor painter when I am importing the objon Clo 3d
Good morning, I currently own an Nvidia RTX 5080 graphics card, but I'm experiencing a lot of problems with Adobe's Substance Painter. The program closes unexpectedly without displaying any error message, making it very difficult for me to work (I work in the video game industry). Previously, I had an RTX 3060 and an RTX 4090, and I never had any issues. I have the Game Ready drivers installed, but I've also tried the Studio drivers, and the problems persist. Everything is up to date. Can you help me? Thank you!
Hi,At our company, we recently purchased the new GMTKek EVO-X2 AI Mini PC, and overall, we’re extremely impressed with its performance. With 128GB of shared VRAM between the CPU and GPU, it's remarkably fast—even outperforming an RTX 4090 in certain cases, as entire files can fit entirely in VRAM. The 2TB of storage is also a great plus.However, we’ve encountered a recurring issue when working with heavy scenes. The software occasionally freezes in a strange way: the UI remains responsive, but both the viewport and the bottom progress bar become stuck and stop updating. This makes it difficult to continue working without restarting the software.Given the potential of this machine, especially with its massive shared VRAM, we’re really eager to make full use of it. Hi,I'm currently a stundent in 3D and I would like to get Substance Painter in order to texture objects for my exam project.I keep trying to make a request to get the form needed for the application of the education licence ( Education - Substance 3D ), but I'm not receiving any email. I've tried with other email adresses but nothing seems to change.How can i get the free eduaction licence if I'm not receiving this form ?
Hi! I've been having this problem for 2 months, I've tried to work even with getting things deleted but there's no way :' This only happens to me when texturing in hand-painted, after a while of texturing, when I want to go back a step with ctrl+z it doesn't go back a single step, but several steps, about 7 or 8 strokes are erased. For this I can try to not work with the ctrl+z, although it is very difficult, but the biggest problem comes when I save the file to close it, then I open it at some other time and part of the wall of the house that I texture is erased, it is erased uniformly in different layers. And with the new update some strokes that I have not painted appears. I share screenshots: I have to add that I have had this problem in 2 different files, and it also happens to me from other computers, I have no idea what it could be :'(. Hi, I'm currently unable to get Painter to launch through steam on Rocky Linux. The app splash screen appears and then immediately closes without any meaningful error that I can see. I've installed through dnf and running `steam -compat-force-slr off` to launch steam. I'm running Proton Experimental but have tried others. Experimental is the only one that allows the splash screen to appear. It seems as though Proton is able to correctly launch the app as I can see the splash screen but something else is not letting it complete the launch. Any ideas?Thanks
SPP 11.0.1 Build 4315Windows 11 26100.3775 Setting up a Paint Layer with pass through blend modes on each map type and attempting to use the clone tool to paint an area returns an incorrect normal map color - whereas I should expect the normal to be consistent with the surrounding area. All other maps operate as expected. I've tried:- changing the Normal settings, from Combine to Replace- changing the color profile of the source Normal map from data to DX, OpenGL- using a levels with an invert on the individual RGB channels to regain the correct color.- using an anchor point link of the layer to paint onto instead. None of those worked.In the image added, the area that is the source and destination colors don't match.
I have a very high-res mesh from Zbrush. When importing into SP, I got the error:Mesh normals are invalid (some values are null) and will be recomputed.When I reopen the saved scene, SP will crash.I checked in Zbrush; I checked in Maya; I checked in Meshlab. I couldn't find any errors. in my mesh. As a hack I re-exported the mesh again after SP recalculated the normals. This worked- I can reopen the saved scene.However it did something to the mesh. It looks like a UV-mistake; although the UVs are the same.. What is going on here? Please help....

I recently received a student redemption code to access Adobe Substance Painter. However, when I try to redeem it on the official website, I encounter an error message that prevents me from completing the activation.Could you please assist me in resolving this issue? I would greatly appreciate your guidance or a solution so I can access the software as intended.
Hi! Using a high end pc, 128 gb ram, 9950x3d , rtx rog astral 5090. x870E hero motherboard. 9100 samung harddrive.I opened my project on this new machine. Its 27 udims, 4k resolution etc.Painter crashes when i push it too hard - which means = painting a lot at the same time. changing udim, painting across uv shells. This doesnt happen on my A6000 build with 256 gb ram. and it got a worse cpu.Its slower on A6000 build. but Painter always gets a chance. so when it freezes painter still manage to survive.On 5090 build. its like everything is very fast. everything loads fast. everything is on steorids. but it doesnt survive when program freezes. then it just kills nvidia driver and opengl.have added tdr values. also tried a lot in nvidia control panel. Also tried to force optix but it killed all my masks.Is there anything I can do to prevent this? any ideas? this is a 10k dollar build
When we save our substance file to the Qnap NAS it corrupts the files and we can't open it. If we save it locally and copy it over it works fine. Using Latest macos, latest substance, M4 Mac mini.
