Either using Dreameaver version 20 or 21  on Windows 11 - it crashes right after startup or when trying to open another HTML file. There seems to be a bug with the split view mode. When I just view in code view, there no issue in crashing or trying to open multiple documents.  Resetting preferences didn't help. I prefer to use split view mode so I can easily see the images and apply the links quickly and efficiently when at work.

Hi there, im on macos with a intel based mac from 2020 and on sequoia 15.6.Spec - 32 gb ram and 2,3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7. Dreamweaver wont open or run, none of the available versions seems to run at all, it seems to boot but either crashes during launch or becomes unresponsive and cant be used at all. All the documentation and older issues similar to mine had fixes but none seem to work. I tried contacting support but the chat bot wont tell their opening hours so therefore im posting here hoping for a solution. Thanks in advance

I needed to use a generator function in my app, but DW incorrectly flags an ellipsis as a syntax error. I know anyone who needs a generator function should probably go buy a stronger IDE, but I'm cheap and I already have the whole CC suite. And isn't PHP version support a basic function of maintaining the Dreamweaver app? I would encourage you to at least get it up into the 8s.

There are many posts on this subject, none of which seem to correspond with the latest version. One can use existing suggestions to make hidden files such as .htaccess or .htpasswd visible on the remote server, but the same trick does not seem to work for local files. For the pundits who immediately leap into action with comments along the lines that MacOS has the option to show hidden files, indeed it does, and that option is switched on. I can see the hiddewn files in Finder. It is just that I cannot see them in the local file liston Dreamweaver which of course means I cannot PUT them onto the remote server.  It is very annoying and very difficult. Sure I went off and tried Wappler but it is not fit for purpose, and impenetrable with jargon and etc. So no, I prefer to stay with DreamWeaver and would appreciate prompt action from Adobe, or help from users who have experienced the same difficulty and solved the problem.

It's been months now that dreamweaver is laggy when typing on code view on PHP scripts. I have tried disabling all code hints, made static view default, disabled code coloring.... still laggy.If I type random chars it freezes for about a second then shows everything I typed at once every second.Any key I press takes about 50ms to fire.Double clicks (to select a word) usually won't fire.The whole app randomly freezes some times (if a PHP script is opened).DW process uses under 1% CPU. Plenty RAM available. Installed on a SSD drive as the whole system.

I use DW 21.5. Every time I start DW, the program suddenly hangs after about 10-20 minutes. It always happens once. After that I can work with it for the rest of the day without any problems. But after every new start, the program hangs after the specified time: “No response”. Once a day, after the start. Does anyone know why and how this can be fixed?

While I'm in Design Mode. It might be happening after I use Paste Special... Text Only.

The update I installed on 05/27/25 gave me hope that Dreamweaver would keep getting updates other than security, but instead it broke it even more: clicking on the design/live panel doesn't always select the corresponding code anymore (it would randomly happen before the update, but that involved it not working at all and having to close/reopen the file to fix it); writing code suddenly starts in one point and jumps into another part of the code panel, so if you're not paying attention to the screen, you will have to go back searching where you started to type to cut and paste what's in the wrong place back there; the help menu doesn't work anymore to submit bugs and to link to Adobe Forums; it caused the beach ball to appear and got unresponsive, and there's no other app that does that on this M1 Macbook Pro. And it still didn't correct one of the things that previous updates broke: select + grab + opt doesn't create a copy of code, there's actually no way to copy code and leave the o

Hi, using Adobe Dreamweaver 21.5 Build 15662.I work on an Intel 1.70 GHz laptop with 16 GB RAM. Windows 11 Enterprise Version 24H2Trigger Keys no longer work on first entry. The trigger key word, when entered in code, displays in design view and the curser jumps over to design view also. I have to click back into code view and enter it again and it will then enter the code.Secondly, there is a major delay in entering Targets for URL's.Also, when adding text into the <title> tag in code view, it shows up in design view as an <h1> heading, along with the curser. I have to click back into code view, similar to the trigger key issue.Thanks.

Hi everybody,I have an issue with Dreamweaver that makes me loose a lot of time. This has been going on for many months despite DW updates. And I'm experiencing this problem on all my PCs and operating systems (Windows 10 and 11) so I think it's a bug of DW since the last versions.I used to use the "STATUS" column in Dreamweaver's Design Notes to clearly display the status of files (Draft, Revision 1, Revision 2, etc.).It doesn't work anymore (for months). Even though I associate columns with the "STATUS" Design Notes, this column always remains empty."Etat" is Status in French. As I work on thousands of file I really need to see directly in the file panel the status of each one. Thanks for your help. 

Hello!I have a very annoying problem. When I start the program Shift + Enter (for line break) works, but after a while it does not. After restart of the programit it works again for a while.Any suggestions to get rid of this?Best ReagradsFredrik

I am having a weird issue on Dreamweaver v21.5 (Windows) that is severely affecting my ability to work. This did not happen in v21.4 or earlier. I typically work with two tabs open, in "Combine as Tabs" view. See attached screengrab.  Now, in order to successfully change focus, I now have to click in the "Design" pane up top, or the tiny target of the title bar. And then to edit code I have to click again, in the lower, "Code" pane. Before v21.5, I could just click on either of the two Code panes to switch focus between the two pages. Note that the pane on the left is currently the frontmost page, as indicated by the title bar being white instead of grey. BUT... counterintuitively, my cursor is actually in the page on the right (you can't see it on this screengrab, but it's on line 3), and if I type code it will appear in the page on the right. So, while I am typing, I would normally expect any keystrokes to affect the page on the right, where I am typing.

I have a recurring problem where Dreamweaver 24.1 is not displaying my code.  Restarting does fix the error, but then my code is already messed up. When typing, it shows me the code that I want, but upon save, I will find that my code is actually a bunch of messed up placements and syntax errors.  I discovered this as I went to copy and paste my code to share with someone and it added extra brackets where there weren't any in my CSS.  I write my own code, I do not use the WYSIWYG design functions, I only view for display. or to copy and paste repeating patterns.I was cleaning up some old code, converting it to html5.  Dreamweaver had been running for a long period of time.I did not take a screenshot, as I really didn't intend to bother anyone about it, but ended up here when looking for a way to clear out my cache, which doesn't seem to be located anywhere one would think it should be, not in AppData locations, not in Program Files, where mine is apparentl

I currently have Adobe  Dreamweaver 2024 version 21.4 on my Mac computer. I am trying to open a dreamweaver on my computer, it keeps being frozen and stuck on the  "Initializing Files" screen and never loads. I've tried Force quitting and restarting the program, resetting the preferences and site settings, uninstalling it and installing it again, deleting all library > preferences and application support files and reinstalling my mac computer. I provided a screenshot. After its stuck on the start up, a prompt will pop up that says " Manage sites " and " csncel " but then it quickly dissapears and is just a blank gray box.     What do I do?

I have an issue where Dreamweaver 2021 converts UTF-8 encoded files into US-ASCII when it opens the files. Consequently, some symbols (e.g. ¥) get changed to garbage. The files are CakePHP CTP files. They don't have encoding meta at the start of the file (it's in a header file instead). I think DW uses the meta encoding tag to work out the encoding used to decide what format to use when opening the file. In Preferences, I have already set default encoding for new files to UTF-8, and also selected the option 'use when opening existing files that don't specify an encoding'.Is there a way that I can make DW identify UTF-8 files correctly? 

Liebe Community, Seit etwa zwei Monaten habe ich das Problem, dass Bilder, die ich seit Ewigkeiten nicht bearbeitet oder verändert habe, einfach nicht mehr hochgeladen werden. Folgende Fehlermeldung kommt:Google und diverse Foren spucken nichts aus. Wäre super, wenn mir jemand einen Tipp geben könnte!

After updating to Sonoma, I launched Dreamweaver (v21.1), and now I can't see any code in any document, just blank grey. There's no cursor. Viewing with 'Design' shows a janky version of previously created pages, but viewing with 'Code' shows nothing, and 'Split' shows the janky page, but the code area is blank. I've tried updating DW to 21.4, but every time, the progress icon stalls at 93%, then I get the note "Progress is slower than usual. Working on resolving the issue…" Then it tells me, "Update failed." I'm dead in the water. Grateful for any help. After typing a line of CSS and choosing Edit > Code > Apply Source Formatting, the entire line is deleted.Undo also does not work in this case (does not undo the deletion, or bring back the line of code), so it is just gone. (Screen capture attached.) I use the auto formatting constantly, so this is a critical bug for me.

Double click on word to select the word is not working correctly in some circumstances.  Sometimes it leaves a letter out of the selection which negates the speed of double clicking a word.

While working from home I noticed my shortcut from emmet is not working. the only change I have made is to use the company VPN. Once I am at my office, the shortcuts are working. Is there a way to workaround this, without turning off my VPN?
