When I want to soften a bokeh, I can create mask by clicking the "Select Subject" button, invert it and decrease Sharpeness. But the problem occurs at the edges of subject, the edges of subject are blurred too. The only way is to create another brush mask, paint around the subject and subtract it from original mask. 1. It would be nice if there was a feather control in "Select Subject" that would extend the mask. 2. It would be great if there were an option to automatically recalculate AI mask after synchronization or if mask was copied to a new photo or when applying preset with AI mask. With this features softening the bokeh could be saved as a preset and it would be very easy to apply it.
On selected Windows configurations, the use of depth range masks, especially in conjunction with using them in presets, causes error messages that do not occur when using other mask types. When you hover over a preset containing a depth range mask, an error message appears saying that the GPU produced an error and has been deactivated due to the error.Sample configuration:Camera RAW 18.3.1.2580 Windows 11 NVIDIA GTX 1050 with 4 GB VRAMFor Mac, everything works fine. In Windows, there seems to be the need for some code optimization. Does anyone know when this can be fixed?

Color temperature below 2000K. It would be extremely useful for infrared photography. By the way, Capture One already allows it.
I have been playing with the new mask feature in Lightroom 2021. However, if you utilize the Color Grading feature for editing purposes, it seems to affect the whole image not just the masked area. Is it possible in a future update to make this feature available for use with the mask feature?
Als ik vanuit Bridge Camera Raw open en na bewerking de foto in Photoshop wil openen blijkt de open-knop verdwenen zijn. Hoe kan ik dat repareren? Ik heb de nieuwste updates en werk op een Mac Studio 2If I open Camera Raw from Bridge and want to open the photo in Photoshop after editing, the open button appears to be gone. How can I fix this? In ACR 18.13.1, the histogram curves and RGB values aren't showing up. Everything works fine in ACR 18130. I haven't changed any settings. I've attached an image.
The following video is a demo of the CPU usage of the latest version of Adobe Denoise AI on Windows 11. There is something strange in that Adobe Camera Raw runs the CPU in the high +90% for a long time after all the Denoise work is done. If you have ACR Version 17 with Technology Preview enabled, please run a similar test and report if you see the same strange CPU usage. Add and subtracting masks is very useful in refining your mask. Being able to add or subtract and existing mask would be (IMO) a great improvement in this feature. Many times I will labour over tweaking the mask for my subject, then I want to subtract that mast from my background so background adjustments don’t affect my subject. The background/landscape/sky masks will often include areas of the subject which interfere with processing. Here’s an example.Selecting “Subject” results in tree branches being included and misses many detailed tail feathers.Selecting (in this case) “Vegetation” includes those same tail features as part of the selection. I can spend a great deal of time painstakingly finessing my subject selection and would like to subtract that from the background.I did find this as a feature request in the Lightroom area so I hope this is not out of bounds to add to the ACR area. ACR seems to have new features tested out before being added elsewhere (and ACR is my tool of cho
Please add A.I. based sharpening. And I don´t mean Topaz, but an algorithm, which is developed by Adobe and thus .…- doesn´t have a file size limitation- runs locally on GPU- doesn´t create a DNG- you can still continue raw editing- just works like Adobe´s ACR denoisingACR´s current - and decades old - sharpening just isn´t even close to A.I. based sharpening and doesn´t do anything against motion blur.ACR´s denoising works extremely well and I´m sure, Adobe can achieve the same level of quality with an A.I. based sharpening.
In order to optimize storage space I convert pictures from NEF to DNG. Unfortunately the Adobe DNG Converter is almost unusable. The software works fine on older PCs with four core processors. On my newer PC with 8 cores and 16 threads it is impossible to use. It seems like a memory problem. Sometimes it works but most of the time it renders the whole PC unusable, often crashes Windoes Explorer. Even restarts won’t solve the tangled up DNG Converter. Frustrating.
I’m reaching out to the community for assistance with an issue in Adobe Camera Raw that keeps recurring.Quite often, when I attempt to create a mask, I receive the following error message:“There was an unexpected error and your request could not be completed.”Immediately afterwards, a second message appears:“The graphics processor has encountered an unrecoverable error. Due to a run‑time error, GPU acceleration has been disabled for the remainder of the session.”This behaviour is now happening frequently, and it interrupts my workflow every time masking is required. If anyone could point me toward reliable guidance, known fixes, or relevant Adobe documentation, I would be very grateful.Thank you in advance for your support.

I wold like an ML/ AI based automatic 'defringe' tool in Camera Raw / Lightroom to remove corner chromatic aberration reliably and easily. Please consider developing an ML tool that preserves local color while identifying and removing fringing that occurs on high-contrast edges and especially in image corners. The existing tools and procedures for this in Camera Raw and Photoshop require a lot of manual work and even then do not produce good results.
the file from the R8 work fine but the file from R5 has this problem

There is a persistent bug when synchronizing "Spot Removal" (Heal/Clone) adjustments across images that involve HDR merges in vertical orientation. The adjustment coordinates are not being mapped correctly between standard RAW/DNG files and the DNG files generated by Lightroom's HDR Merge feature.Steps to reproduce: Take a series of vertical (portrait orientation) RAW images. Perform an HDR Merge to create a new DNG file. Apply a spot removal adjustment (e.g., to clean sensor dust) on one of the nont merged files. Sync that adjustment to the newly created HDR DNG file. Expected result: The spot removal should be applied to the exact same visual coordinates in both the source and the target HDR image.Actual result: In vertical images, the spot removal adjustment is shifted to an incorrect position on the HDR file. This does not happen with horizontal (landscape) images.Additional notes: The issue occurs regardless of the camera brand/model. The offset happens both ways: from RAW
At the moment I don’t shoot in raw and do not want Photoshop to open in Camera Raw. I have tried the various suggestions and rebooted both photoshop and my Mac laptop but it still opens my jpeg files in Camera Raw. Any suggestions on how I can top Photoshop opening in Camera Raw would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hello everyone, I recognized a strange behaviour in Camera RAW. I opened Photoshop, then opened about 20 RAW files waiting for Camera RAW to load. So it does. I start working in CR, but after a few minutes CR is getting very laggy, my mouse pointer is sometimes freezing, and every change, for example exposure or any other parameter, leads into a delayed output for about 5 or 6 seconds. A smooth working is not possible anymore. So I made some tests. It doesn't matter if I open just one oder 50 RAW files, always the same. I figured out that this behaviour first occures when I use AI masking for automatically choosing the background or the main object in my picture. As soon as I choose a mask with AI feature, I see that my RAM is slowly filling up until it is completely used. From this point, the described delays happen. I have Windows 10, 32 GB RAM (should be enough, at least for one RAW file?), Ryzen 7600X and Geforce 4070S. I don't know when this started, becau
Please can someone explain the changes to the crop tool in Camera Raw (18.3)?When using the gemoetry options I cannot crop to the edge of the image no matter what I do - this was no problem before. When the crop area is maximised, the crop tool no longer drags the cropped area, it only draws a new area to crop. This is incredibly frustrating. Please can someone tell me how to get the legacy crop tool back? This wasn’t included in any “What’s New” content I have seen.
In building a python library to write and render DNG files (https://github.com/mu-files/mu-image/tree/main/muimg) we noticed that 10bit raw data is handled inconsistently between uncompressed DNG and JXL DNG.In the DNG SDK: - For uncompressed data - 10bit data is packed in the tiff ifd, then gets unpacked in the decoder and goes through the DNG renderer as values in the lower 10 lower bits of a 16 bit buffer.- For the JXL path, our initial attempt was to tell the JXL encoder to store 10 bit data. The inconsistency we ran into is that the DNG SDK code requests this bitstream as JXL_BIT_DEPTH_FROM_PIXEL_FORMAT - which tells the JXL decoder to shift the 10bit data up to the full 16 bit depth of the buffer being used.So from the DNG encoder side we cannot treat 10 bit data the same if it is being encoded as uncompressed or as JXL. If the DNG SDK code requested the data from jxl decoder using JXL_BIT_DEPTH_FROM_CODESTREAM then the decoder would return the 10bit data that the encoder intende
