I want to edit DNG files in ACR but it appears that it is is not saving edits as I make them. It only saves edits when I hit 'Done' or 'Open'. This is bad news if ACR crashes which it has done several times today. To work around this I want to periodically save my edits. I have setup the 'Save Image' dialog File Naming to use the Document Name and nothing else (see attached). I would expect that ACR would then over write the original file (yes I _want_ ACR to do this). However ACR ignores my setup and persists in appending '_1', '_2' etc to my saves. Adobe support say this is what's supposed to happen but surely if I tell it not to add a suffix it shouldn't. I have seen other posts on a similar subject that involve running renaming scripts but that seeems way to complex for function that Word/Excel does without thinking. Is this a bug or have I missed something?
1) Open a file in Camera Raw hosted by Bridge 2) Create a mask using the new "People" feature, or use the new Content Aware tool (I guess other new features will trigger the same error, but these two are the ones I've tested) 3) Click open When Photoshop opens, this errors message appears (and the file doesn't open): "Could not open "(file name) because the file-format module cannot parse the file" I'm using Windows 10 and the lastest Bridge/ACR/PS versions at the time of writing, but more people have reported this to me on my blog/YT channel.
I have updated both bridge and PS. the problem of camera raw can not open PS was gone. Thanks Adobe fix this.

If I save my camera raw photos in the photos app, there will be thumbnails identified as "raw," but when I select photoshop as the application to edit the photo, it opens in photoshop. There is the option to use the camera raw filter with the image, but the interface that opens is the regular photoshop, not the raw interface, so I am guessing that the file opened as a lower resolution jpeg, not raw, is that right? If so, is there a way to open images from Photos in raw format?
Hello Everyone. I am using Color Checker Passport to create a Camera profile. Basically, I shoot the Clor Checker Passport and inside camera Raw, I save It as DNG. Later, I drag and drop the DNG File Into Xrite ColorChecker Camera Calibration Software to create a Custom Profile. This is where the profile is saving:C- User- User Name- AppData- Roaming- Adobe- CameraRaw-Camera Profiles.Inside Camera Raw, I see the Adobe original Profiles, but I don't see any Custom Profile. Also, If I want to create Custom White Balance, I save It at this address:C- User- User Name- AppData- Roaming- Adobe- CameraRaw- Settings.Inside-Color Checker Camera Calibration Software, I can also save as ICC-Tiff, I never do that.Is it better to drag the DNG File, or Create a Tiff file, and Drag it inside the ICC-Tiff?Please let me know what is the issueThank you very much.
I’m experiencing an anomalous behaviour with the zoom tool in the latest ACR 15.0 update (Mac user, Monterey):1. if I click once to zoom in a specific area of the image the zoom does not reach the 100% as set in the preferences but sticks to the last zoom level used2. if I zoom further using the trackpad the zoom moves automatically to a completely different areaThe only way to zoom in a specific area seems to be only the cmd/ctrl shortcut to activate the selection box. Using just two fingers on the trackpad (or simply drawing the box without shortcuts as it was possible until few years ago) is so much faster.I know I could use the Lightroom style zoom, but I can’t see why I have to constantly change my habits, so the question is: is it a bug? Does anyone have the same problems?
Camera Raw 15, Bridge 13.01.583. Mac M1. OS Montery 12.6.1 Today I noticed that after making a vertical geometry correction in ACR and then appling it to another image (apply previous conversion), it changes it into an horizontal correction instead.
Just updated Camera raw with latest version 15. However, maskeing dialog box, message indicate " Unable to load AI selection model". I'm running an iMac version 10.15.7. Could this be the problem as this unhancement in Camera Raw requires OS 11.00 or above
Dear community, Since a few days I am unable to save a new made PSD file on my MacBook Pro M1 2021 documents. PSD immediately crashes. The only way to save a document is to the Creative Cloud. As you can see in the screenshot bellow ''Bewaar'' which means ''Safe'' becomes unavailable. Also I cannot change the location or use the other buttons except for ''Save to clouddocuments''. I am using the new version of PSD 2023. I hope one of you could help me out, because this is very frustrating. Thanks for your time in advance! Delano
What's the difference between Balance and Blending sliders?
Most sliders in ACR/Lr are very intuitive and by playing around and tweaking them you can easily understand what they're doing. BUT it's not obvious at all what's the difference between Balance & Blending. I'm not a beginner, but I was confused and had to ask for clarification on this forum. Fortunately, I got the answer (here's the discussion topic). Now I want to help other users to make the difference clear. Here are my suggestions. 1. Rename Blending to Feathering.Photoshop users know well what Feathering means. It's the smoothing of either a mask or a selection edge. The Blending here does the same thing with the graded areas (highlights or shadows). If it's 0, the transition/edge is harsh. But the naming is confusing. Because in PS we've got Blend modes (they are not smoothing anything), Auto-Blend layers (merging layers for panoramas), Blend if (which is close to this, but only when using the split handles). 2. Add the pop
I have tons of Local adjustments presets ion Lighjtroom. Surprisingly, they do not appear in ACR ( ACR and LRC share the develop presets). I am unfortunate to find where the Local adjutments for ACR are stored so that I can copy my LRC adjustments to ACR.Thank you for your wise help
Occasionally, the new Masking icon will not show me the pop up list of masks. It just shows sliders to adjust but the option to "Create a New Mask" or to edit a previous Mask does not show. Ten minutes ago it did. That's twice today that it inadvertantly quit showing. Did I accidently trip something to cause it to hide?

I'm not sure if I'm asking this in the right place. Today, out of nowhere, when I open an image in the Photoshop Raw Filter, it immediatly crushes the blacks in the image. I use this filter every day on pretty much every image I edit and I've never had this problem. Does anyone have an idea on what to do?The compression on this screenshot may make it too subtle to see here but the top image you can see into the shadows and the bottom one the blacks are completely crushed. This happens in Photoshop 2021 and 2023. Image is a 300dpi JPG that was first edited in LR.
Suddenly, when I launch Photoshop (2023) Camera Raw shows up and blocks access to Photoshop. I need to work! This is frustrating. No options to quit Camera Raw and it won't let me go to Photoshop. Mac OS Version 13.0.1 (22A400) Thank you for any help. How do I quit Camera Raw?
I have ongoing problems when I work with RAW files, my laptop shows them with damaged graphics. I thought that it is because of the updates, but the laptop was updated and the problem does not disappear. What is a bug and how to change it?
So this is a weird one and over the years it has been a headscratcher. But it seems consistent. My renderering in LR/ACR becomes worse after a period of time. Since it seems to happen gradually and subtle I am not sure what is causing this.To describe what I am seeing is a bit difficult but overall this:1) Incorrect gamma response: Adjusting the exposure sliders don't give me the right look. Lowering the exposure just makes the image dull and dim. Midtones seem to ...fade and die. Adjusting highlights easily becomes lost highlights (or with very bad rolloffs). Basically the overall shadow-midtone-highlight balance is off.2) Lack of detail in the previews. They are not blurry in any way and at first glance it seems normal. But that extra crisp rendering is not there. Ususally I don't see this until I have reinstalled everything including windows (as I will describe further below). This forces me to go heavy on the contrast slider/curves and clarity since my images seem to lack deep pop.
I cannot believe this is not a feature yet: When in comparison view, it seems impossible to drag the line in the middle, so I can compare specific parts quickly. This feature exists in the shared images/edits for lightroom for example, and is pretty standard on websites showing any type of before/after view of photos.
I updated to photoshop 23 and camera raw 15.0. Now photoshop crashes when trying to open CR3 files in camera raw. whole thing runing on macOS Ventura 13.0.1. Photoshop will only open raw files when camera raw 13.1 is installed - problem is then that CR 13.1 doesnt support my Canon EOS R5. Ive tried resettting both Photoshop and Camera raw settings to no use. Ive also deleted all adobe apps and creative cloud app and then reinstalled everything again. Any solutions out there
This is one of my highest hopes for Lightroom First, to get this out of the way: - U-points are great when they work: but they don't always work, and they have their limitations... - they are not a panacea... It is my hope that Adobe will tackle the same problem that U-points solve, only do a better job than Nik did, and preferably open the technology for use in both Lightroom and Photoshop proper so it can be used with third party plugins too. I have a vision for this that could go on for pages, but I'll refrain, and just iterate the purpose. Often when I look at a photo I think: Gee: If I could just alter the color of ... in this one region, without altering ... it would be perfect. PS - This is just one of many possible examples. Put another way: How to specify the target for various adjustments, without having to explicitly paint the mask. One of the genius features of the U-points is the "anti-point". Its an intelligent, adaptive technology. You say: Get stuff like this (by droppi
