Captivate

See attached. I have created a custom accordion interaction that forces the learner to click on each tab before the Next button appears. Everything is working properly except the + signs from the lower Normal state objects show on top of the upper Selected state objects even though they are lower in the Timeline. Any suggestions for how to correct this? I have tried inserting the + as both a text caption and .svg with same result. Thanks!

I'm new to Captivate and trying to create fairly simple training material. The goal is to require learners to watch a video, and answer quiz questions once the video completes. Then they move to the next section, and again watch a video and answer questions. They must complete all videos and all quiz questions to complete the training course. We also want the learner to have basic video playback controls to be able to play/pause and rewind videos as needed. What is the best way to execute this in Captivate? Event videos give the desired playback controls, but there are issues with the video timing being separate from the slide timing. If the learner pauses the video for an extended period of time, Captivate will automatically advance to the next slide once slide time has elapsed regardless of whether the user has completed the video. Hallo,nach der Neuinstallation meines Windows Systems lässt sich Captivate nicht mehr installieren. Nach der Auswahl der Komponenten und des Installationspfades bekomme ich den Fehler 21. Windows ist auf dem aktuellen Stand, die aktuellste Version von MS Edge und Firefox sind ebenfalls installiert.Die Setup Routine (Captivate_2019_x64_LS21.zip) habe ich mehrfach neu heruntergeladen und auch mehrfach entpackt, jedoch alles ohne Erfolg.  Gibt es dafür eine Lösung?  

I've got a user who is running an advanced action at the start of each slide called "heart_check," which checks the user's score and changes the state of a score bar and a character sprite on the screen. He built one and is trying to duplicate it, but now when he attempts to duplicate it, "change state of" is grayed out. He's got plenty of custom states, so it's not an InBuilt state issue. We've tried creating a new one, deleting the line and re-adding it, copying and pasting the slide to another project, and nothing seems ot help. Is there something we're missing?

How can I edit a captivate 2019 file in Windows machine. The base file is created in Mac machine.

I've built a "Jeopardy" style study guide for our software users.  There is a question board of 25 questions they can pick in any order.  They select a question, it takes them to that slide, and if they get the answer correct, it displays a big "Correct!" graphic, waits 3 seconds and then jumps back to the question selection board.  If they get it wrong, it goes to the next slide which has a more detailed explanation of why they got it wrong, then when they're done reading they click anywhere to jump back to the question board. They can only see those detailed slides if they get the question wrong, or the time limit to answer (16 seconds) is met.It works great...Except every now and then, if they get the question correct, it will show the 'correct' graphic, but then jump to that next slide with the wrong answer explanation.  The user still gets the proper points for the question, and it logs as a correct response.The Advanced Actions I'm using to make this happen ar

I'd like to have an editible printout of the quesion pool (idealy in excel, but Word/txt would do). I've found suggetsions to print the handout, but that just prints out pics which really doesn't help me(...unless I want to extract text from 149 questions). Any suggestions?

Nach den Laden einer Captivate Datei sind alle Texte verschwunden. Erst nach anklicken der einzelnen Formen wird der Text wieder sichtbar. Nicht im Projekt angezeigte Texte werden auch nicht in der HTML5 Vorschau angezeigt. 

Hi all,Let me first start by saying I'm new to Captivate with only a couple months of training. My current issue is I'm developing Annual Compliance Training modules for my organization and I'm trying to learn how to set it up so that if the Associate passes the quiz they get credit for completion or if they fail the quiz then they have to watch a video on the next slide, once it's finished then they will recieve credit for the learning module.  They way it's configured now is that if the Associate fails, they are directed to the next slide (that plays a video) but are given credit before completion of the video.  Is there a way to have it set up so that if the Associate fails the quiz they will be forced to watch the entire video before getting credit? Thank you,Patrick

I am trying to get over my reluctance to create my first elearning. I am creating a software simulation, and I'm not even sure if that's the best approach to take for what I'm trying to communicate. I have gone through the sequence to complete the task in the software system, but these captions have shown up that I did not create. Are those just guides/suggestions based on my actions? Is there a way to turn that off?  How do I keep the simulation from playing all the way through and make it stop for interaction from the learner?

Hey all,I'm creating a drag and drop for my course and everything is going well. However, for some reason (I'm obviously doing something wrong) once I preview in my HTML 5 my finished drag and drop slide, dragging the right answer to the correct box says, "incorrect" when it is "correct". I've been working on this issue for a day. This should a simple task, but I'm struggling! I'll show a few screen shots. 

Hi, I am using Captivate 2019 - 11.5.5.I captured some screens using software simulation in Captivate. It also have some FMR slides as well.When published to video, and the screens moves from FMR to static screen, there is some kind of blink effect added by default. I have total 3 FMR slides in my project, but strangey I am facing issue with only two slides. I also have the another project with same setting and FMR slides, that was running fine.Any reason?

Oh my gosh!  You won't believe it!  I made all kinds of cool changes, but now I can't open the file.  HELP! I have a back-up of the file, but not with the cool changes.  Here is the error I get when I try to open it:Adobe Captivate could not open "the file name". Ensure that:- The file is not open already (it isn't)- The file is not damaged.  For example, if the file was an email attachment (it wasn't), ensure that you have decoded the file correctly.- The hard disk has sufficient available space. (probably does, it opened before)- The system has sufficient resources.  To optimize the resources, close all the other open applications (I have)What now?  I'd hate to think that the last 8 hours of work has been wasted.  Thanks for any suggestions you might have.Terri

I am looking to edit a project in which currently all the question slides have plain grey backgrounds. There is nothing under the properties panel and all of the buttons to insert text, shapes, media, etc are greyed out/un-clickable. I looked through the slide templates that are in this project and none of them look like the question slides where it is just the questions overlayed on a plain grey background.

Hello,Does anyone have an issue where your VR project is very jerky everytime you move your headset?  I've published the file and it's living on the LMS. Everything plays fine, there's just a visual issue where the image and everything on the slide just jumps around. Thank you,Matt

Hello,I am using Captivate 2019 (v: 11.5.5.553) on a PC machine, working in both Chrome (99.0.4844.82 64-bit) and Edge (Version 99.0.1150.36 (Official build) (64-bit)). I've created a project, currently with 4 slides. These slides have multiple advance actions set up to display/hide content when the image/button is clicked.The first slide displays correctly when published, showing/hiding content when image/button is clicked.The second and third slides do not come through when published, nor do my 'back' and 'next' buttons appear on any of the pages. I also checked the box in Preferences to Hide the play bar - however, this also still displays after publishing.Here is the timeline for the 3rd slide - each of these slides is expected to do the same thing and I'm duplicating the first slide (the one that works) and changing all variables to match the captions and smartshapes in each slide's advance actions.I also tried completely deleting all published files in my DAM before unz

We are building an Elearning lesson in Captivate 2019.  When we use the bubble shapes for talking heads, the bubble is full size and uncropped in the filmstrip view, but cropped vertically down the left.  We have checked our browser preview size, and it doesn't do this with any other images - just the talk bubbles.  

As PhoneGap no longer works, how do I publish my content as an app?

Very new to Captivate and I've had a handul of issues getting MP4 embedded videos to play once published as a video. Videos are .MOV files I recorded/edited on my ipad, sent to PC via Teams to encod via Adobe Media Encoder to MP4. They play fine in preview and when published as HTML5. There is a delay when published as SWF but they still show. Video type is Progressive Download. Placement of video is Stage. Uploading end product to MS Stream so they need to be in MP4 format. Is there something I need to be doing to ensure these will play when published as video?

Hi Captivate Community! I should be able to make a slide video (controlled by Captivate) pause and then when the user interacts wwith a simple button, it will play. But that won't work, and I believe I've observed that the video will continue again after a brief pause on revisit.  So I added bookmarks and am having more success. Still, I wish there was a better way. I know about workarounds and use them. Maybe someone knows of a good workaround?

Hi! I just downloaded Adobe Captivate with the 30 days free trial to evaluate this application to create VR courses for a LMS platform. So far I think is simple to use and intuitive, but I'm trying to export the VR Demo to preview it on my Android phone and it's not working properly on Chrome. I scan the QR with my phone and go to the provided url to see the demo and it's not moving the 3D image with the movement of the phone. I press the "ENTER VR" button and the size of the image is smaller than expected, the "settings" icon doesn't work and as I said, the image is not moving with the movement of the phone. I have to move it with my fingers.  Is it possible to export VR courses and make it work with Android and/or iOS devices? Thanks!
