am not able to get serial number in adobe captivate 2019

Hello everyone, I am having a problem with posting quiz results to an internal server: when the user enters his name and e-mail address and clicks send in the pop-up after passing a quiz, the pop-up reads "Results sucessfully posted". However, no CaptivateResults folder with xml files is created. I have followed the instructions in the user guide and read several posts in this community to eliminate any errors:The intenalServerReporting.php is located in a folder below the root folder of the web server (IIS)I have made sure that write permissions are activate for the mentioned folder and all folders and files below itI also removed all spaces or any other special characters from the file, company, department and course names. This has solved a problem where all slashes were stripped from URL to the internalServerReporting.php which caused an unknown error when finishing a quiz. I've got an oversized (almost 4 GB) media heavy project from another developer that needs to load into a Moodle LMS environment. I already broke the project up into smaller elements, but I'm not getting paid to rebuild it the right way, just doing a favor for a partner organization who shares our LMS space.  The problem is that it seems like anything that approaches 500 MB immediately fails in the upload, even though there's no limit on upload sizes. has anyone else run into this issue?

Hi all - I am converting several courses from Flash to HTML5 using the latest version of Captivate 11.5.1.499. These are non-responsive, originally created in Captivate 9. My challenge is the TOC - it locks up the course every time I try to access it in testing, and the only way out is to cancel and start over. It does this in each of the three modules I have looked at so far. I have searched but can't find any commentary on this. Here's a screen shot of the settings; any ideas why this is happening? I appreciate any thoughts you may have on this issue. 

Hello all, this is my first Captivate project. I am working on a new employee required course. When presented in person it took 2 to 3 days to teach participants. I have it broken up into eight modules with units to break it up a bit more.  I looked around the community and saw advice to remove the progress bar, buttons, and just add my own buttons, etc. However, my question is, should we allow participants the ability to skip slides in this eLearning course? What are the pros and cons or is it nothing to be concerned about? I'd love to hear your thoughts and or advice. Thanks!

I am needing advice on how to fix a problem in the State View. In my Normal View I have the button the size I need it to be. In the Roll over and Visited Stqate, the button is the original size, which you can see when you click the button during the training. How do I fix the RollOver and Visited views to stay the same size as the Normal view?  

Hi there,I’m creating an online course with Adobe Captivate that consists of many slides.  I would like to add a progress bar in my playbar which makes winding forward or backward possible, but only within the current slide. By default, it add a progress bar which works for the entire project.  Is there a way to get a progress bar for each slide? Right now the people can jump back and forward via the TOC or by hitting the buttons forward or backward in the play bar, but it is not possible to jump to a specific moment within one slide. Thanks for your help.

I have downloaded captivate trial on my laptop whic is a macOS sierra version 10.12.6. After the install the program fails to launch, and I have no missing updates for the laptop or in creative cloud etc. Turned laptop off and back on did not work. Anybody know if I try to download the setup file again will I be charged again or any advice?

I have a large project with multiple buttons for navigation. These buttons are added individually on each slide. I'm translating this into a new language and have been using the export captions combined with find and replace to do the heavy lifting of translating the bulk of the content. I've just noticed that all my buttons have the text correctly replaced but not on the rollover state. So when previewing the project the rollover changes the button from one language to the old one. In find and replace there is a specific ability to select rollover states in the dropdown but this finds 0 results when searching. 1. Is find and replace broken or am I misunderstanding why the rollover states are listed in the dropdown? 2. Please tell me there is some other easy way to bulk replace state text for smartshapes. Thanks!

For some strange reason, when I add a knowledge check slide in Captivate 19, it put Type your question here (or whatever question is typed) on all subsequent slides. I don't see anything in the timing or the master slide that would indicate why it is doing this. It is also putting the knowledge check slide title on subsequent slides. Please help! Paul

Greetings, community. I have been troubleshooting a Captivate file a vendor built for us, so far to no avail, and I wanted to reach out and ask if anyone out there can help. Some set-up information: This course was created in Captivate 9.It contains two knowledge questions that give the user one attempt.There is no quiz.There is an Exit button on the last slide set to exit the course when the learner clicks it. My company loaded the course into our LMS for testing. We ran into this problem: When a user takes the course all the way through and exits the course, the activity details on the subsequent summary page show the course as completed, meaning the user finished the course by navigating through all the pages. However, upon exiting the system, the course results show it’s still in progress; it appears there is an element missing in Captivate that won’t allow the course to get to that final step of fully closing out. Hello! I am trying to add background audio to a project, but because we had a custom workaround to auto-advance past the "start" screen (one with play button), the background audio doesn't get loaded. I tested this out without our auto-advance and it works. My question is, does anyone know a command to load the background audio, say on slide 1 rather than the project play button? Any fancy JS? How could I find out what triggers it to load? Ideally, I have Slide 1 where I DO NOT need the bg audio playing, but then need it to play starting on Slide 2.I saw someone else post about this last year, but I did not see a solution. Thanks in advance!

Hello,I am using Adobe Captivate Version 11.5.1. I am working on a  course that includes mathcing slide quizzes, I have noticed that when the course is uploaded to the LMS (HTML Outpout) the drop down menu list is not in alignement with its title. Please see exmaple image below.  Could someone please help me find a resolution to this issue? Thank you, Diane.

Hi,This follows on from a previous question i asked regarding Muting sound on videos (Thanks to those who responded by the way, we have found a way to do this using the play bar which looks good and works well)As a result of the that, the question has now been asked - 'what if i want the sound, but not the subtitles' So - is there a way / function / button that i can use to hide all subtitles that appear? The subtitles are in the form of smart shapes with text, with multiple appearing throughout the video slides to point out buttons and functionalities of the software being demonstrated. All of these shapes have been applied to the 'Edit Video Demo' area of captivate. Ideally - this would appear on the Playbar (with mute button) although appreciate might not be possible. Many thanks - any further info i can provide please let me know 🙂ps - i am relatively new to captivate

When I am in Captivate, I am starting a new project from Power Point which is completed in Spanish. When I move it into Captivate it is adding different characters into the slides. It started with various question marks and then I changed all the font to Arial and now it is adding in boxes in random places behind words. Any help on how to get the slides into Captivate without the added characters! I need to have these projects done by morning.

Hello there,  I am just learning and not sure if I am doing something wrong or experiencing an issue.  When I try to type text in a text caption box where it says 'Type Text Here' it doesn't actually allow me to do so.  If someone could help me understand if its me or the program I would appreciate it so much.  Thank you. 

Hello all, New to the community and after doing some research I believe I made a rookie mistake in a project I am working on that I found out needs to be 508 compliant. My issue is when using the tab feature on the project it automatically goes to smart objects and buttons. However, there is no user focus or tabbing on text boxes. I did some research but there does not look like I can change it or add it and will have to change the text boxes into smart objects is this the case? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a nice day

Hi, everyone, and Happy Fourth of July!  I am creating a Drag and Drop activity using Paul Wilson's tutorial titled Drag & Drop with multiple correct answers. It is working fine, except I wanted 4 answers to go into one box and 4 answers to go into another box. If all four are in the proper two boxes then the answer is correct. Is this possible? 

Hello, I'm creating a Captivate project for a client who wants their PDFs uploaded so users can enter text into them and save the text answers in the LMS. I'm considering some of the following scenarios but would appreciate advice on the best way to achieve this. 1. Creating the fillable PDF and uploading it into Captivate as a web link. I.e. Objects > Web > File2. Uploading the PDF into Captivate and overlaying text entry boxes to capture the information.3. Attaching the PDF as a link through an image or a button that allows the end-user to open and fill out the details. However, in all these scenarios I need advice on how the student can save their answers before exiting the activity,Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Using 2019 - non responsive project. Created a slide with some CC. I can see the CC in Preview=>Project  I then Publish As Video and and selected YouTube SD. The mp4 got created but when I play it in Windows Media Player or in VLC , it does not show the CC. Couple of questions.1)  How do you add CC to an MP4 generated by Captivate ?2) Is there a way to make Captivate export the SRT files that describe the closed captions in the slides?. If it did, I can supply it to the media players to see the CC superimposed on the mp4 files,  or burn the SRT file into the mp4 (using Premiere?) to create a new mp4 that I can upload to youtube.3) Does youtube/linkedin-learning accept mp4 without cc and they auto-generate the CC themselves and burn them in? Looks like in captivate 2019 you can only generate an mp4 without CC and upload it to youtube - but CC is an important function that cannot be ignored. Any suggestion is much appreciated. Adobe stopped the PhoneGap support and therefore the possibility to export an Aobe Captivate Project as an IOS or Android App.  But in the expoert settings it is still visible. Are there any workarounds ?

Hi all!I created a training course with biding quiz and just one attempt.Is there a way to let the user take another time the course from scratch (following from start to end the course again) and then retry the quiz?I don't want to add attempts but force the user to follow again the whole course and then take the quiz. Thank you so much!Pia

HELP! I'm pulling my hair out trying to search video and forums on this. It can't be this difficult...I have a simple drag and drop - drag numbers over to the smart shapes to identify the correct order the text in the shapes should be in.For the life of me I can't seam to find how to show the correct answers to the user when they exhaust the attempts.I have it set for 2 attempts, the failure message appears, the slide resets and allows them to go again - but if they fail that second time... the user sits while the time expires on the slide and it moves to the next slide.How can you show the user  - "Hey, you've been incorrect twice but here are the correct answers before we move onto the next slide."Thank you kindly for any help that can be provided!Jason

How can I globally set the xy coordinates for the shapes that are added as feedback hints in a GIFT file? Consider this simple GIFT content:::Fruits::Which fruit is yellow? { ~Grape #That can't be right! Try again. =Banana #Yes! That's right! ~Orange #Now you're being silly. ~Strawberry #Never seen one of those. }Note that the feedback for each answer is preceded by #. When imported to a project, all four of the feedback comments appear in four separate Default Hint Shape objects in the upper right hand corner. I can easily update the xy coordinates to place each shape where I want it, and also change the size of the shape. But, if I import a GIFT with 20 MC questions with four answers each, that would mean having to adjust 80 objects. That's inefficient and prone to error. Can I pre-set xy positions and size for these objects?  Thanks for any ideas! Charlie
