Captivate

Hi all,I'm using Captivate 2019 on macos and I see that some project files are huge (talking about more than 1GB here). Is there a way to reduce their size?- I have deleted any unused items from the library- I have checked the size of the media files being used, and no way can they explain the huge size So is there any other way to trim these files?Related to this question: I used .cpvc files and then imported these into my project. Is it safe to delete the original .cpvc files to save disk space?

Hello, My license is active, these projects were published, live online and were working fine. Now we are getting this message: How can we get these back online? 

I have been trying to install a free trail with new ID as the trial period ended for earlier one But no matter hoe many times i install the software with new ID the system says your trial is over pls purchase the softwarecan anyone help me to resolve this issue pls 

Can you automate page numbering for a section in the format # of #? I know how to do a custom attribute and an advanced action to make it increment. I don't see a way to get the total pages in a section, so it looks like that might be manual. However, if I have my page number variable set to 1 on the first page of a section and then increment it by 1 on every other page, I have issues navigating backwards. I cannot figure out if there's a way to perform the action once, and I've used actions on entrance and exit with no luck. Any suggestions?

One of my co-workers is experiencing an intermittent problem in Captivate 2019. It is not file specific as we have seen the following results occur in multiple files including ones that behaved correclty previously.When using the Preview option of HTML5 in Browser the file is being processed but when it attempt to open in the browser (defaulting to Edge) it is producing an error message that the location of the file cannot be found. I noticed the the address line is beginning with the html5temp poriton of the address and not  http://localhost:[port]/preview/ that precedes html5temp. So I am assuming that Captivate is failing to communicate the full address to the web browser. Has anyone experienced this? We have changed the general and publish settings to ensure she is working on her local machine only and not over a network. And this problem was not occurring previously. I have her publishing without zipping so she can still review the files, but even that requires

Hello, I am new to captivate 2019 and having issues with the VR hotspot actions.I would like to be able to place a hotspot on the 360 image and attach an action to play video.When i open the action pane there isnt the video option listed. Can anyone advise please? ThanksRachael

We are developing some responsive training and have encountered a weird bug with the text pop out icons that appear when using fluid boxes. We have made all the optimization fixes(setting minimum font size, deleting extra empty lines and characters, etc) but what seems to happen is that at certain resolutions, right before the font resizes, the icon will appear even though there is still space in the box. It will actually disappear if I scale down a few more pixels and the font resizes.  Has anyone encountered this? Is there anyway to keep this from happening?

I have a big drag and drop project and everything was working great. The most recent (and now subsequent) publishes for testing now have an issue when I drag my drag targets. When I drag them, the text on the targets shrink and go to the top of the screen (leaving me dragging an empty box) until I drop the target. When the target is dropped, the words appear as normal. It still counts the scores properly, but this is a really bad issue that I cannot figure how to fix.

I'm creating an eLearning video.  Closed captioning text and aduio has been added for all slides and for a quiz.  However, the CC won't show in the quiz.Did I forget something?  Text was added to the CC and Synced; but when I view the project, the CC doesn't show in the quiz.  It does appear for the rest of the project.Thanks in advance.

Hi all, My work has a licence for Adobe Creative Cloud 5.4.550. I currently have Captivate 9 installed and want to upgrade to 2019. Does anyone know if my work licence includes the upgrade to 2019? When I click "Check for Updates" in Captivate, it says its already up to date. Cheers for your help.-Adrian

I'm making an interactive video using software simulation mode, and in the video I need to have a scroll button that users can drag from the left of the slider to the right, but Captivate didn't capture the action and there wasn't a scrolling item shown that I can drag. Can anyone help to solve the problem? Thanks a lot.

Is there a way to edit the Toolkit text that appears on hovering over the TOC & cc buttons? If TOC were to be shown as Table of Contents & CC as Closed Captions, does Captivate 2019 allow this to be modified?

I have a 4:30 minute slide video with captions. The captions do not sync up approximately 1 minute into the video. I have tried adjusting through the "Edit video timing" tab, however it does not appear to save my edits and the captions continue to be out of sync. Any suggestions on how to fix the issue or what I may be doing incorrectly? Thank you. 

Hi thereI have a quiz with 5 attempts set up. Captivate 2019 and SCORM 1.2. I can use my 5 attempts when I use the Retry Button on the Results slide, but if I use the Review Quiz button when I review and then reach the Results slide I cannot see the Retry button anymore.It has been some time since I have  used Retry button inside Captivate. Is that behaviour normal?Thanks in advanceBobby

HiCan someone help with my problem of using last attempt?I'm creating software simulation in Captivate 2019. For some text entry boxes, I want users to try maximum 3 times. If users reach the max attempts, the slide should continue.I have unchecked the "Infinite Attempts", and changed "last attempt" to "go to the next slide" (I also tried the Continue action). For the setup, please see the attached image.But when I preview with HTML5 in browser, it's not working. After 3 attempts, the slide cannot move to the next. For the further attempts, only failure text will not show; nothing happens.I also published the simulation, and put it on GitHub where we will host this video. When previewing in GitHub, the last attempt action (either "Continue" or "go to next slide") is not working too. I'm not sure if I made something wrong. Any help will be appreciated.

Hello, Our organization recently decided to migrate our captivate catalogue from a Shared Drive to our new Cloud AEM Intranet. The problem I'm having is that when the test user clicks the link for the training the browser downloads the HTML file instead of opening it. I'm getting this behavior in Chrome and Edge. I feel like I had this problem before when I was trying to migrate to SP but i don't recall. Does anyone have Expereince with this? thanks,

I'm working on a memory game using advanced actions. I have managed to create items, make them flip (applying effects), create variables, and make them change their states when clicked. However, I can't figure out the advanced actions to check for pairs matched and shuffle items when a game restarts. Has anyone done this using advanced actions? or maybe advanced actions and javascript? 

Hello!I have an issue that I am trying to figure out.  I have a project where the user has three attempts to pass the quiz that is integrated within the course with a 62%. So I first started by setting the quiz completion criteria. However, we ran into an issue where if the user did pass the right number of questions, ( answered 10 out of the 16) and then closed it out before finishing the course it counted it as completed since they technically got a 62%. So then I added in slide views.  Now I am having an isssue where it is setting it as completed with whatever score they have because they are viewing all the slides.  Any ideas on how I can make this work?? 

Hi, I am using Captivate CC. I am trying to design a drag and drop interaction with the following filters:1. No Submit button2. When user drops a drag item in its correct location, it locks the drop location.3. When user drops a drag item in an incorrect location, it does not lock the drop location.4. For the drag items dropped in incorrect locations, user should be able to redrag them until all of them are in correct locations.5. Once all the drag items are dropped to their correct drop locations, the feedback is shown. How can this be achieved? Anyone please help?
