Captivate

Hi All,Thanks to all of you and your help.I need to add a certificate at the end of a project, but the certificate needs to be shown after a score of 1500 is hit and all 5 screens have been reviewed.  It is like a one column Jeopardy game, where there is 5 questions on the game board and the score is added up and is shown on the game board slide.  They will receive a certificate only after all 5 questions have been answers (right or wrong) and a score is 1500.Any ideas?Thanks so much.

I'd like to brand courses based on user. I'm under the impression I'll need to work with the 'cpQuizInfoStudentID' variable to accomplish this.For now I'm just trying to get the variable to display. I made a text caption with $$cpQuizInfoStudentID$$ but I can't seem to get it to display any value. Any reason why? Do I need to do something specific to get that value into the course? Do I actually need to complete a quiz before this variable is populated in captivate?I've tried publishing this course in cap. 8, Uploaded it to scormcloud via my LMS api. I lauch from my LMS but it's just blank in text caption where $$cpQuizInfoStudentID$$ should be.

I've had many issues with loading and running Captivate 2017 on Catalina. I notice that there is a new release of 2019 that will get that version of Captivate running on this OS. Will there be an update to 2017?Thanks

I have published an html5 scorm package to our LMS. Users are not able to arrange sequence quiz slides textboxes on Ipads. Does anybody have suggestions why this might be happening? These seqeunce questions have worked before seamlessly. The user are able to click on the text box and it would be highlighted but they are unable to move them.  

Hi all, I am a bit green when it comes to variables and advanced actions and have pretty much taught myself through searching for videos and forums.I am not sure if this is easier than I think, and maybe I'm overthinking it.  I have two buttons that I would like to use to toggle between 8 different states of an object (almost like a forward and back button) but for states instead of slides.Is this easier than I think?Any help would be greatly appreciated! 

I can't get the sequence question type to work on iPad - you can highlight and answer, but can't drag it anywhere. Is there a solution to this?

I have created a course in Adobe Captivate 2019, in which I have content slide as well as question slide (drag and drop). But these question slides are not a part of the quiz as there is no quiz in this course. Hence tracking of the course depend on the slide viewed.  When I upload the course on LMS (Oracle), it runs fine. But the issue is after completing the course, it doesn't show the score 100%. Instead it shows a score less than 100% even the status marked as completed. This screenshot represents the course behaviour on LMS.   This screenshot represents the course publish setting while publish in SCORM.   Now I have two issue:1) LMS shows incorrect score after completing the course.2) Is it possible to off the score and not seeing on screen?  

Has there been a workaround or fix yet for the keyboard focus indicator not being visible when publishing a Captivate project with just HTML? Since Flash doesn't work well in Chrome now, our solution has been to move towards using HTML exclusively when possible. Now, however, our keyboard focus indicator isn't visible in Flash either. We have already implemented the workaround for IE that a user previously posted. However, this is still an issue in Chrome, and either way we have problems (with Flash or losing the focus indicator).

I have a main slide with links out to different slides. After they are done on the one of the slides they are to return automatically to the main slide to pick a new one.Setup:Main slide (4 click boxes out to to different slides)Slide ASlide BSlide CSlide D Slides A-D for on exit I selected Go to slide last visited. That should be the Main slide for each of them.It works the first time, Click to go to Slide C, it plays and auto returns to Main slide. But the next click, say Slide B, with continue playing to Slide C and then Slide D, without returning to Main Slide. To be clear, I have tried to use Jump to slide (and target the Main slide as well).

I recently tried updating my Captivate 2019 to the latest version, though before the update could make it to 100%, there was an "update failed" error message. After that, when I try to open up Captivate I receive an error message titled "Entry Point Not Found" It looks like this -  I'm not entirely sure what this error means, so I decided to try and re-install Captivate 2019. Though, after the installation, I've come across the issue where the Captivate Window is simply blank. An error noted on this Adobe help page - https://helpx.adobe.com/captivate/kb/captivate-installation-blank-page-sign.html I've tried to run both of the files from the first two links on that page, though niether of them work. I receive an error which says - "The Installation cannot continue as the installer file may be damaged. Download the installer file again." I'm not sure if the setup.exe files under the "Install via Help > Updates" would work for me, since I can't even open Captiv

Hi! I'm having a weird issue after updating to 11.5.1.499. When I copy and paste slides between the projects, the fonts get changed. For example, Myriad Pro becomes Trebuchet. Courier New changes to Arial. Has anyone seen this behaviour too? When I copy only text-boxes between these projects, fonts and formatting is maintaned correctly, but when I copy slides, the fonts change. I had no issues with this before.

I am making a quiz for my students, and I am going to make a question pool with a lot of questions, but I don't want them to answer all the questions. Here's my thought: I will assign each correct answer 10 points, and each incorrect answer -5 points. I want the quiz to end once the student reaches a certain amount of points; say 50 points. So one kid could answer 5 questions correctly and be done, while another might take 15 questions to reach 50 points. But once they reach 50 points, boom end quiz, otherwise keep going until they do. It would also be nice to display the amount of points they currently have so they know how close they are. Is this possible? Thanks!

Hi, My adobe captivate preview keeps freezing. The timeline still moves, but up until 2:45 it won't show a live preview. I included a picture of my timeline. The video pauses at the same spot when I preview the file in HTML. There are no buttons on that spot or anything. I've tried this on a few different computers too, with different exports, and they all freeze at the same spot. Is my video file too big or something? I don't know how to fix it!Help! 

I'm creating a quiz using Captivate 2019, I'm using the 'Submit All' funcion. I have published in HTML5, after completing the quiz and clicking the 'Submit All' button, on some computers the message is displayed correctly as shown in image 1, yet on some other computers, the message looks like image 2. Even if  I publish on a computer where the messge is displayed correctly as in image 1, as soon as I upload the file to our LMS (Totara) it looks like image 2.  Does anyone know how to correct this?

This is a very strange issue I have not seen others run into... but I am hopeful that this can be fixed!  I have created a simple software simulation with some event videos and at the top is a menu  (grouped object) with buttons that jump to other sides. It has a hide/show functionality in advanced actions that toggles well, but for some strange reason the very first time I click on a new slide and click the menu it requires me to click the grouped object twice before it "shows". After clicking it twice the first time it no longer needs me to "double" click for the rest of the slide in order to show.  Things that have removed the intial double click have been:1. Removing the conditional action (now obviously it doesn't toggle anymore) 2. If I make the menu just a smartshape- not a grouped object. ( now it has no functionality)    

I want to edit the background image "Background16" in a recorded software simulation but I don't know where the native file pulls from so that I can access it and pull it into photoshop. I tried doing a search in my Captivate folder for this file name, but no luck. I also checked in Edit>Preferences>General SettingsI also don't want to try the simple editing functions that "Edit Image" allows within Captivate, it's more complicated editing than that.hop.

My team just updated to Captivate 2019 and I am wishing we hadn’t. Our productivity has dramatically decreased since we upgraded due to the slowness of the program. Literally, each click takes about 2 -3 seconds which adds up at the end of the day.  Please help!!

Hi,I'm looking for a solution, when i publish my Captivate project on our LMS (Talentsoft) , it doesn't allow the fullscreen because it's developed with frameset and dimension for videos (youtube, mp4, etc) .--> Is there a way to adapt the code in the exported Captivate file  ? This way , the fullscreen will be allowed when i publish it. Thanks in advance,

I am working on Telugu Captivate project, when i import Telugu strings from word to Captivate, some Telugu strings will have non-joiner issue in Captivate. Copy and paste strings manuall will fix this issue but it waste time. Does anyone have a better solution?

Very new to Captivate, so please forgive my ignorance. Is it possible to route users to different sections of content based on the results of a quiz? For example, I'd like to have a 100-question diagnostic quiz. If participants score below a threshold for a portion of the test (questions 1-10), is it possible to send them to a specific section of remedial content that addresses the content in those questions? Alternatively, if a particpants scores above the threshold for those questions, they would not be routed to the remedial content. Is such a thing possible? Does anyone have suggestions for being able to offer remedial content based on quiz results? Thanks.

Good morning! I am having a bit of a problem with links inside a Captivate file I am creating. Instead of a link to a URL (http:), the clients have document stored with a URL that starts with F:// . We can't get it to open. Have any of you had the same problem? Did you solve it? I tried removing accents (French words) and the blank spaces, but it's still not working. Thank you! Annie
