Using Captivate 5, I have created a number of quizzes that display the "Send E-Mail" button on the reporting slide. If I publish the quiz as an exe file and run it, "Send E-Mail" works correctly. (Outlook opens with an email containing the quiz results ready for dispatch). Likewise if I publish to html and open the html file in Internet Explorer or Firefox, but if I open the html file in Chrome, the "Send E-Mail" does nothing.I have disabled all Chrome extensions, enabled pop-ups, and disabled any Google Labs "About: Flags" I had been using, but "Send E-Mail" still will not work.Given that "Send E-Mail" is functioning correctly in IE and Firefox, this is not a Captivate fault, but I would be grateful for any suggestions as to where else I might look in my Chrome settings to get this working.
I am using the captivate 9 and I would like to know that is it possible to publish my project file into pdf or word document.
Hey there,I'd like to add a quiz slide which asks the user to type in four answers. The question goes like this:Name the four verbs in the following sentence: [sentence]The user then has to type in four correct answers. The only thing I could find out is that the 'short answer' slide allows to add an unlimited amount of correct answers and if the user names on of them, the whole slide is marked as correct. However, in this case, the user will have to type in four individual correct answers.Any ideas how I can do this?Thank you!
Hi there, I am creating a software simulation slide on an existing blank project (not a responsive project), with a video demo setting. In the video editing mode, I can add a zoom with a transition to the zooming in. However, when I try to zoom out again to view the whole screen, the transition does not register -i.e. it is completely abrupt in preview mode. I have tried changing transition time, say from 0.5 sec to 1 sec with no luck. Anyone know how to solve this issue?
I'm creating an interactive activity where I want the user to select a specific part of the screen, and they can't move forward until they select the correct area of the screen (note, this is not as part of a quiz). While I know that there's a way to hide the playbar all together, is there a way to keep the playbar shown, and disable the "next" button on certain slides?
I wanted to show a coworker something in Capivate 9 from the Project menu. His Captivate 9 did not have a Project option on the menu. Anyone else run into this??
Hi guys,I just have a general question about responsive courses in Adobe Captivate. We are looking to build several e-learning courses designed for ALL devices (or at least as many as possible!) I have noticed looking at some captivate source code samples that I have downloaded that some ofthese templates and obviously there's one version for the desktop, one for a few other mobile devices(both horizontal and vertical format where the layout is automatically adjusted). With the one that is vertically aligned, I have also noticed that the layout is squeezed horizontally.Wouldn't it be better to have a template whereby when it comes to mobile devices, the layout is just a smaller version the desktop one and just FLIPS if the user just rotates his mobile phone lengthways? It's just that the layout that we had planned for the e-learning courses in general would not lendthemselves very well to a vertical layout! Are there any examples out there for downloading? Thanks in advance for any advice
We are using Captivate 2017. If we do not upload to a LMS, but rather have users access a HTML/SWF or PDF published file from another source such as SharePoint, is there a way to have tracking and have scoring or are these only on the LMS side or best utilized in an LMS? Thank you.
We have a webserver that can give a student credit if they pass or fail a lesson. We don't have a lot of lessons with quizzes. We have some new projects coming up where they want the student's grade on the quiz to be recorded. For example, the student made a 45% out of 100.
How can a third party (customer) track the result of a captivate project with a quiz (CBT), of all its employees, using an internal server? Note, the third party does not have a captivate account, but they want to instal the project in their servers. Any ideas? Thanks.
We have a project that has quiz questions after each section that are remediated with a return to the slide with the content that gives the answer for the question they missed. The first part works great. When the student first sees the content there is a playbar. When they are remediated back to a slide the playbar disappears and a button to return to the quiz appears. Then they get to the second part it doesn't work that way. At the first time to the content there is no playbar and the button to return to quiz is there. This shouldn't happen until after they viewed the sections content and they are returned to the slide from the quiz. All the return to quiz buttons have unique names and the slides advanced actions are all the same except for changing the buttons names. The buttons are marked invisible in the properties panel and the AA is what makes them visible. Or at least is should wait until the student returns to the content
I imported a group of 60 slides from powerpoint (pptx 2013) into my Captivate 9, however, I've noticed that by doing this, slides advance when I click anywhere on the screen even if I deleted the clickbox that I thought triggered this action. What I did was to disable this action directly in powerpoint and I didn't click "high fidelity" when importing into captivate. Nevertheless, by not clicking "high fidelity", the fonts of some slides get changed, so I need to click it. So, my question is, is there any way in which I can prevent the slides from advancing and having high fidelity clicked at the same time?
Can anyone explain why when I publish a captivate project, I am seeing the previous slide in the background of the current slide. I have tried several things and nothing is working. The slide timings are set pretty straightforward as well as the back and next buttons. I have tried looking through threads and using suggestions. Nothing has helped. I have checked timing and everything looks fine. I have never had this happen with previous versions.Windows 10 / 64 bitVersion 11.0.1.266 Captivate non-responsive project with quiz at endUsing ThemeNot publishing to LMS yet… just publishing local in .exe and swf.
Hi Everyone, I started using captivate only few days ago and I am already losing my mind for a problem with the preview. I have created, just as a test, a very simple PowerPoint presentation and I have imported it into Adobe Captivate 2019. There are No transitions, No animations, nothing at all but when I try to "play slide" in the preview dropdown menu I get the below issue. Can anyone help me, at least, understand what is the problem?original slide:After "play Slide":just to be clear, the original powerpoint slide is just a plain slide whit the picture you see above as "background" and that's all. Does anyone know what could possibly be the probem? Thanks
Should be the easiest thing to do, right?....I have an ordinary button labeled "Start" In the button's properties:Action>On Success: Open URL or filehttp://www.dgs.ca.gov/orim/Programs/DDTOnlineTraining.aspxAttempts: InfiniteIt won't do anything when clicked. No error, no nothing. The URL is good and works in my browser. I've tried the "Current, New and Parent" settings also, but no difference. The published files are located on our LAN. Could that be an issue?
Hello - I am attempting to find a faster way to publish multiple formats from the same Captivate project. For example, given one project, I would like to publish a Windows executable, SCORM 2004, Moodle, and xAPI packages. Is this function available in Captivate, or would it be possible to write a script external to Captivate that could batch publish these projects? Any insight is appreciated. Laura
We need to be able to put a time limit on an entire quiz. Not by question. The student can navigate back and forth and change answers on their quiz but after 30 minutes they are done and taken to the results slide.I've looked through the forum but haven't seen an answer. Thanks in advance.Susan
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I need to change the Submit All window's "Return to Quiz" button to "Return to Exam" but don't see where I can do it. Any suggestions?
I have been searching for any documentation on the Custom Template option available under the SCORM 1.2 option when enabling reporting. Can anyone point me to any resources or help enlighten me as to what this feature is and how to use it?Thanks!-
Hello! I am wondering if there is a way to edit a Captivate publish template (if such exists) to add some custom functionality to the courses.Currently, after I publish a lesson, I constantly find myself unobfuscating/beautifying the CPM.js file in order to manually add a few lines of code. It would save me tons of time in the long run if I could add those lines to a template or append them to an already published CPM.js in a different, less manual way. Any suggestion would be much apprecaited!Thank you!
How do I get it not to do that?Is the problem my graphics card on my computer?Running Captivate 6. Windows 7, 8 GB RAM, 64bit,

I am using Captivate 7 to publish a course. The course appears to be larger than the play area when I preview and after I publish so a lot of my content is getting "cut off" around the edges. I published this exact same course using CP 6 just last week and did not have this problem. The content stayed within the play area boundaries on both IE and the iPad.I can see this problem even before I publish, using the Preview options in Captivate. Is there a new setting in CP 7 that I am missing? Why is my course too big for the play area? Some screen shots below:From Captivate window:this is what I see in the Preview:
