Captivate

We have a group that has upgraded from CP7 to CP2017.  Some how they say that the slide notes disappeared in 2017.  So they want to move the slide notes from copies of their CP7 cptx to the new CP2017 cptx.  They say that it won't do a copy paste.  I tried doing the export/import.  It exported the captions and CC from the earlier version but in CP2017 the option to import captions and CC was grayed out.Thanks in advance for any help.Take care,Susan

I need to find a way to script an advanced action in Captivate 9 that would automatically click those checkboxes  in Slide Notes for text-to-speech.  The first line is what I need checked off - I don't want the extra lines at all.What I am trying to do (if I am making any sense) is to take slides in a PowerPoint presentation that I 'convert' to Captivate, and have that "text-to-speech" checkbox on the Slide Notes tab of my Captivate slides clicked off and the text loaded into Speech Management with an advanced action. Is this possible? Or is it possible to simply check off the boxes in each slide with one action? It's entirely too tedious to click and click and click my way through 90+ slides in a presentation.  Right now my team has about 100 of these presentations to convert.  That's too much clicking. There has to be a more efficient way of utilizing the text-to-speech option.  Are there any suggestions?

I've got a quiz that I'm publishing to xAPI. The quiz works great currently, but we also have an online proctoring/id verification solution that we're installing. To prevent users from completing the quiz if they don't have a webcam, we wanted to prevent access to the exam until a certain variable reads a certain value.I've got the javaScript to check for the variable value, but have no idea how to prevent access to the quiz and then grant it.We'd also like to preserve the resume data so if the user returns they are able to pick up where they left off, but of course ONLY after the variable is set appropriately.var tinterval = setInterval(function () {    if (window.IntegrityAdvocate.status == "IA_Stream") {        // GRANT ACCESS HERE    }}, 1000); // check for updated variable every second

Does the Virtual Reality add-on to the new Captivate only work in Google Chrome? Preview and Published Files open fine in Chrome but don't in Internet Explorer.

What's the best / easiest way to change the text in a popup box? I've got a click box interaction to execute Javascript with an alert box, but the title of it is "Adobe Captivate". I know that a regular Javascript alert box title cannot be changed, but I'm wondering if, because it's styled, there is a strain I can tweak. I appreciate any help!

Hi,I'm using Captivate 9.0.2.437. (Hopefully captivate 2019 soon).I have a captivate project with 4 Knowledge Check questions scattered throughout the course.Then at the end of the project I have 8 graded Question slides.The x of y total question progress indicator (y) is always 4 on the 8 graded questions at the end. The progress indicator is not displayed in my Knowledge Check questions (thankful that is not displayed - not my expectations that it should be on KCs).I end up with .....2 of 4, 3 of 4, 4 of 4, 5 of 4, 6 of 4 and so on in the 8 graded questions at the end.These eight questions are graded "Questions" in the Quiz properties.I assumed the KC questions were not graded, and were just practice questions, and that they would not counted in the progress indicator. But it is odd that y indicator is 4 in my 8 graded questions.Here is a glance at my Advanced Interaction table.Here in the below image you will find 2 (of the 4) Knowledge Questions. We are using Adobe Captivate 4 on Windows 7.  Since the Microsoft Windows Updates around January 8, we are unable to open Adobe Captivate 4.  We get the message that the Flash Player is to be installed and the application shuts down after the message that an Internet connection is required.  I have followed the steps on the Adobe Help page:  Error: "Adobe Flash Player is not currently installed" when you start Adobe Captivate with no success.  I have even uninstalled Adobe Captivate 4, reinstalled it and followed the instructions on the aforementioned Help page.  No luck.  I am running Firefox and Internet Explorer and IE is the default browser.  Adobe Captivate 4 acts as though it cannot connect to the Adobe Flash website, but I already have the most current Flash Player installed.  We use Adobe Captivate 4 primarily for Quizzes since we can effectively e-mail the results to trainers. We do have Adobe Captivate 7 and the Quiz Results e-mail

In older versions, instead of reporting to an LMS, Captivate could report quiz data to an internal server or acrobat .com.  Can one do either in Captivate 2019, or to a database, or some other option besides an LMS?

Is it possible to create & import custom characters one makes from scratch? We have a potential client who would like to use images of their employees, not the stock characters that come with Captivate.

In Captivate 2019, can we make an interactive video from any CDN other than Youtube?  For example, from Vimeo? Or is it Youtube or nothing?

Any idea as to why my quiz freezes, and has to be closed and reopened, if a question is answered incorrectly? Is there a way to fix this issue?

I'm in Captivate 8. The project is a simple set of slides with audio on each slide. I want the project to automatically advance to the next slide when the audio completes. I don't want to need to tell viewers to click anything to continue.Thanks!

Hello,I have 37 slides using the same Master Slide, and it only happens to one slide that the content in the Master Slide disappears at the end of slide.  Every slide has Execute Advanced Actions on Exit which is to operate cpCmndPause = 1.  So, after the slide durations ends, all the contents are still displayed and waiting for user to click something to move on.I'm running out of idea why this happens to only ONE slide.. If anyone can help me, I really appreciate your help.Thanks!

I have a Captivate template that I use to create course modules. Each slide within the template has a customized bar at the top of approximately 70 pixels, and another bar across the bottom that is approximately 60 pixels tall. Of course, when I get ready to create a module, I open the template and save it as a Captivate file, then begin building.Using this design, I need to record software simulations that appear in between the two bars on the slide so that the built-in actions on those bars remain available during the simulation viewing. The simulation should be 1024 wide x 637 tall. I don't see how to resize the recorded simulations.I've tried recording a simulation in a separate slide deck, but can't paste a simulation slide onto an existing slide. I've also tried inserting a simulation slide into the slide deck, but the top and bottom bars are behind the simulation.Any suggestions?Angel Mc

Hi Everyone, I have uploaded an Adobe Captivate Project (from Captivate 9) in html5 into our website that is built on Adobe Experience Manager. We've done this before without issues and those projects still work but I've tried to upload two completely different projects now and when you click on the link to go to those projects it just gets stuck on the loading page with the spinning circle. So I've ruled out it being a error in the project itself but I can't figure out why older projects work and new ones don't. The link to each project is connected to the "index" which is what we've done in the past. Please help!

Help!!I've added hotspots in my Adobe 2019 360 project. The text hotspots work just fine, but the hotspots that have an "display image" action associated to them only display for less than a second when I select the hotspot the first time, the second time I click on the hotspot it will show for the default 3 seconds. However, I cannot seem to change display duration for longer than the defaulted 3 seconds.So to recap, there are two issues going on:1. Display image action for hotspot only displays for less than a second the first time it is selected.2. I cannot alter the display duration beyond the 3 seconds it is defaulted to. This is ONLY the case for display image. It is not the case for display text (which works just fine).Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Please share best practices and workarounds.

Using the skin editor to add a play bar I noticed that you don't have an option for position and layout.  Our template for regular projects has the play bar justified to the right.  Is there a way to do that in a responsive project?Also I noticed that you can't apply a texture.Thanks in advance,Susan Davis

Hi,I had created a video in Captivate 8, where the output published is Video in mp4 format. It has a thick black border all around the video, which doesn't go away even in fullscreen. I tried removing borders from Skin Editor, but still the border is there in the output. Can anybody tell how this can be fixed?Thanks Eshna

I have a Muse page that has several hyperlinks on this page.  Each hyperlink opens in a new tab.  How do I change the tab name of the hyperlinks tabs that open. For Example  Muse page is called   -  Cookies  - This tab is fineon the Cookies page is a hyperlink that says snicker doodles.  When you click on snicker doodles it opens in a new tab in the browser  How do I change the tab name that opens when they select the hyperlink text.  -Thank you

When previewing the drag and drop assessment, as I hover the drag source right over a particular target, the source then slides into the target area under or next to the one I want it dropped into. Is there a way to make sure this doesn't happen, or are the targets to small and close together to avoid this? This problem happens even if the source is right over the correct target. Thanks.

I have a problem with installing Adobe Captivate 2019. I have successfully downloaded it, however, it freezes after I select the location where to extract the files to. The point where it freezes has the message "Preparing files. Please wait while the downloaded files are being extracted." I have uninstalled all trial versions and have restarted my computer multiple times. Cheers

When I upload an Office 365 PowerPoint deck in Captivate 2017 - either as a .ppt or .pptx - only 2/3 of each slide converts. (It's always the right 1/3 of the slides that do not convert.)Please see 'before and after' screenshots below. Does anyone have a fix for this or suggestions on how to remedy this? I realize this is a very narrow topic and may be more of a vent than a discussion, but I thought I'd at least reach out and see if there's anyone similar in the community.  I'm running into more and more issues when I create/publish Captivate content, test it via Test Tracker/SCORM Cloud - then once get it into our stage Kaplan/UL Compliancewire instance it doesn't function as it should. Most recently, my items stopped resetting the advanced action counts once a course has been completed. I haven't changed anything in my process so I'm assuming something on the LMS side has changed. I've asked our  internal Compliancewire support team and basically was told to change authoring tools....of course they aren't willing to fit the bill nor are they into the technical nuts and bolts side of things in order to assist me with deciphering what it is that changed or what value I need to be passing the LMS for this to work as it should once again. The learning intervention will not be using the LMS for a specific course, it will be placed on a protected website. Is there a good place for me to start my SCORM or xAPI research?
