Captivate

Hi everyone, I tried copying demo simulation slides to my current project. But they are too big. Is there a workaround on how to fit them on the slides? I hope someone can enlighten me. Thank you!  

I am trying to set an increment condition in my advanced action, but its showing an error. I have done this earlier and it used to work fine. Can anybody please help. Also the states of the clickables are not changing even after setting the right condition, the tickmark in the visited state that I set is not working, when I do the preview. RegardsPraveen

Does anyone know why Captivate might ask me to convert my .mov or mp4 videos to FLA files? I tried to import these types of videos into my Responsive project and even though the files are in acceptable format for importing Captivate want to convert to FLA. I assume that with a Responsive project certain devices are not compatible with FLA files. Thanks.

I have uploaded 12.3 captivate package on scorm 1.2. In success and completion criteria, I have selected Quiz is Passed. When I complete the entire course I am getting 100% on scorm as I have selected All the correct answer.1) But the issue is when I Launch the course again it redirect me directly to the last visited slide. In Adobe captivate Classic version, When we relaunch the course again there is Popup comes and on that "Continue from where you stop last time" Ok and Cancel button was there. But in new Adobe captivate this popup is not comming it is redirecting me directly to the last visited slide.2) In Adobe Captivate 12.3 version, when we relaunch the course which is half completed previously, it is not showing checked for the previously selected slides in Table of Content. In Classic version, it shows the checked in Table of content for previously visited slides after relaunch the course.Is this bug of All new Adobe Captivate 12.3 or I have missed some setting for project in r

Good day, I'm using Captivate 2017. I've created a simulation for a systems training where the learners need to click f6 (to go to the next slide), f12 (to go to the next slide), and the tab key (to advance 1 space in the slide). As you can imagine, Chrome does like this, and when I publish and view the file in HTML5, the following happens:f6 - the cursor visits multiple places on the browser windowf12 - A Chrome debugger window openstab - Has to be clicked 3 times in order for the cursor to move to the tab position on the slide. Are there any workarounds for these issues?    

Hi,I am using the latest version of Captivate 11.8.3. I uploaded 30 questions using the Pool Manager. The CSV file had 5 points assigned to each of the 30 questions, and I used the template from Adobe. There were no errors during the upload. However, after uploading the questions, when I select a question in the Question Pool, I am unable to view the "Points" option in the "Quiz Properties" panel on the left side. I do see the "Points" option if I manually insert a question slide.  

I have used Lectora from Trivantis for 7 years. While I had occasional issues with Lectora they were relatively minor. Overall, Lectora was reliable allowing me to publish CBTs smoothly. I work for a state agency, so there are alot of moving parts getting a class through from start to finish. Another department convinced the powers that be to make Captivate the standard work. I wasn't happy as I knew there would be a learning curve. However, at first glance I became excited when I saw what Captivate was capable of. It truly looked like the future of computer based training design. Since I already useseeral other Adobe products, I assumed Captivate would perform well.Then I started working with it.I have the latest version of Captivate 2019. I have a powerful workstation. The performance is terrible. Its close to not even being usable. I have search the forums, blogs, and anything I could find searching for a solution. It seems this issue has been going on for year. Captivate is slow. N

I'm loving the AI added to search tools, like CoPilot, but I know it doesn't always pull up full accuracy, so am checking in here with you pros . . . 😉I'm working in Captivate Classic and want to use the motion path effect on an object so that it acts like a bullet point going from one place on the screen to the first block of text that I have appear, but then it drops down in a vertical line to the next paragraph that appears after the first one's voiceover is complete. I tried to do this with Custom Lines effect but wasn't able to see the pause point on the timeline for the effect to adjust how long it might pause there (as long as the voiceover for that bit of text). Copilot told me to just "locate any double bars (||) on the effect timeline that represent the pause points to adjust them. (I did type in that I was using Classic). Of course I see the visual pause/directional(?) points on the physical timeline which I have set to 'show' but they allow me to move the position o

Hi, I'm working with the brand new Captivate, the latest version. I'm having weird sound problems. I add an audio file to a slide (I tried different audio format) (The audio was recorded outside of Captivate). Everything seems fine. If I listen to the audio in Captivate, everything is normal, but if I try to publish the project or even just preview it, the something happens. At the end of my narration, some of the last few words just repeat themselves.  As an example, my narration would say "bla bla bla, to continue, just click on the button on the lower left side of your screen." In the browser (Itried Chrome and edge), you would hear "bla bla bla, to continue, just click on the button on the lower left side of your screen. lower left side of your screen." Anyone having that kind of problem? Any idea what would be causing it? 

Hi Adobe Community, Ive just started with Adobe Captivate 12 and I need to insert multiple choice quiz questions after info blocks and videos that are part of the web style scrolling interface. It seems that to insert a quiz question we need a new slide and that takes the learner out of the scrollable slide. Is there a way to have questions with feedback without leaving the slide the learning is scrolling through?  I will be very gratful for your help 🙂 Joanna 

Hi folksLooking for some advice in regards tosome issues I am having with my AppsI have developed some e-Learning for a client, who is using another thirdparty LMS Provider to host their content.  I have been testing the Apps on SCORM Cloud, and I was having no issues, it all worked as intended.Once the Apps got sent over to the Thirdparty some issues in terms of its deployment.   The LMS runs the content in frameset, rather than a new window, which is was I was testing with, and while in SCORM 2004, setting the play mode to frame set in SCORM Cloud would cause the app to not be able to exit back to the LMS, it just hangs on the goodbye.html page.We thought we resolved this by going down to SCORM 1.2, but when it was uploaded onto the LMS, there was a massive lag with video and audio files, specifically on iOS  but this lag was not present on SCORM Cloud iOS testing.We have since went back to 2004, and spoke to Rustici themselves about potentally solutions

Hi everyone, I recently updated Captivate classic to version 11.8.3.The update resulted in problem with the text entry box. After reaching a slide the user could automatically enter the text into the box. Now he has to click into the box before it is possible to enter the text. That is very annoying in a software simulation, as the user clicks into one field on the first slide and enters the text on the second slide. Now he clicks into the field and has to do one more click to activate the text entry box. All the workarounds I have tried so far didnt work out. Did anyone come across this problem? Thanks Maria

Hi, for the simulation scenario, wherein we need to add score by using click box or text entry box, how can we update the score if each of the step in the simulation, there are 5 slides (attempts) which will have different score. Please note that users are given 4 attempts per step, and 1 see me. Step 11st attempt is correct, user will go to the next step and score will be 52nd attempt is correct (1st is incorrect), user will go to the next step and score will be 33rd attempt is correct (1st & 2nd attempts are incorrect), user will go to the next step and score will be 24th attempt is correct (first 3 attempts are incorrect), user will go to the next step and score will be 15th slide will be a see me and there will be no score, it will then go to the next step once the user watched the video demo (see me) Step 21st attempt is correct, user will go to the next step and score will be 52nd attempt is correct (1st is incorrect), user will go to the next step and score will be

My menu on the left side is greyed out and will not allow useage.  Any fixes available? I have uninstalled and re-installed and restarted my computer.

Can we able to make multiple Result slides of Question slides in All new Adobe Captivate. Because currently there are 3 modules in my Adobe Captivate and I want to create individual module quiz with individual result for each Module.

I want to add button that will download the captivate entire slide as a pdf. Is there way we can do this using javascript feature. If yes what will be the code. Thanks in Advance.

Hi  I am capturing software demos in Demo, training and assessment modes. I am using smartshapes for captions. In training mode, I want all my hint captions to be "Click here." and all my failure captions to be "Incorrect. Please try again." The failure caption for assessment should be "Incorrect. Please try again." However, by default, these are "Type hint text here" and Type failure text here." Can I change these default texts? I found these texts in the strings.xml file of en_US folder and changed it. But that didn't help even after I restarted Captivate. Is there any other way? Please advise. Sreekanth  

Hello everybody. I'm using the new captivate. I have a slide with a timeline widget with 4 nodes, I need to show the first two nodes already open on the slide enter. Is it possibile? I cannot find any setting and I tried with javascript but i couldn't find a way.This is how I need the slide on enter: Thank you!

Hello all. We have been using Captivate for a few years now to create training courses online. With the previous version of Captivate (now Classic), we exported the projects, uploaded all the files to S3 on AWS and embedded them within an iFrame on a Wix created website. All worked perfectly. We have switched to the new Captivate (currently on 12.3.0.12), created the projects, exported them, and uploaded them to S3 as we did before. We can run the project if using the direct link to the HTML file - no issues - however embedding them within an iFrame just results in a blank white area Not sure what we are doing wrong, is anyone sucessfully embedding exports from the latest captivate in an iFrame? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hello all,I am creating my first training in Captivate and struggeling with a very basic thing - when I preview the training I see that all slides are included in one timeline. But what I want is that each slide has its own timeline, so that when the slide is done, the user has to press a button to go the next slide. How do I do this? I cannot figure this out. Also what I am wondering, how do I setup, that a slide can / cannot be skipped? I have a video, which is not so important, and this should be albe to skip, the others not. How do I do that? Thank youZuzana

Hi,  I am trying to create a VR project in Captivate. When I preview the project, I see the 'VR NOT SUPPORTED' text with a button. I am not sure why this is happening, how to remove it, or what it means.Could you please help to remove that text along with the button? I am using Captivate Classic 2019 - version 11.8.3.8. Please see the attached image. Thanks & regards, Velayutham S

Hello, I just purchased a monthly subscription for adobe captivate through my account with creative cloud. However, when I click download from the purchase screen it sends me to the creative cloud browser which does not have Captivate populated. I went through the desktop app for creative cloud as well still can't find it. Not sure what to do. Please any help would be much appreciated!-Thank you!

I am creating a project in Captivate. For the user, it's a 360 VR experience. In fact, it's a combination of 360 slides and 2D (normal) slides. The user is walking through the 360 photo's and on it's way, there are several hotspots. Sometimes there are hotspots that lead to 2D slides, then after finishing it returns to the same 360 slide. Now, here's the problem. Captivate has the possibility to add green tick marks after clicking on a hotspot. This would work well in a regular project. However, when you go to a 2D page you leave the 360 slide for some time and return later. Unfortunately, something resets so the green tick marks are gone. In this way, it's not possible for the user to see what he has or hasn't clicked yet. The option 'Must see once' can also not be used in this way (same cause). Now in regular slides there is an option to 'Retain state after slide revisit'. I can't find any option like this for 360 slides. Does anyone know how to fix this? 

I am hoping someone can assist me and apologies if I am overlooking something obvious. I have created a game in Captivate Classic which has 50 plus multiple choice questions in the question pool. I am importing them via a CSV file which includes custom/advanced feedback for each response.  When the questions are presented, the imported custom feedback appears in the upper right hand corner but I would like it in a different area of the screen with specific formatting. I am hoping to avoid going into every question and reformatting each custom/advanced response to appear where and how I want it displayed.  Is there an easy way to modify the theme to do this?  I know I can modify the master slide formats for the the theme but I do not see a spot to format the custom/advanced feedback for specific responses unless I am missing it! Thanks for any assistance.
