Captivate

Hello Group! Since the first week of July, I've spent around 40-50 hours navigating around Cp 12, trying to figure it out, as I prepare to launch a course in the autumn.  At first I blamed myself for not understnading the interface--and I asked so many questions on this forum! I want to thank you all and let you know how grateful I am for your intellectual generosity in answering so many of my questions. Lilybiri Lieve, Stagprime, and many others. I appreciate your kindness and willingness to help.  I also have had lovely experiences with the Captivate team, including a very kind Gaurav, who spent an hour on a video call with me watching the bugs on the screen of my practice module, taking notes, and sending in bug tickets. But as kind as that was of him, it is also one more hour of my time that I spent trying to fix Adobe, rather than writng and building my course. I cannot afford to do this. I love the idea of Cp 12 and I think when it is ready it will b

HiI changed DpiAwareness to be able to use screenrecording. This made everything super small in captivate. Any way to get the "correct" reolution again?

I have a number of SVG character cutouts I got from Canva in a Captivate 2019 file that aren't being picked up by my NVDA screen reader. The accessibility fields are filled out and the screen reader is picking up the SVG image cutous that I got from the Captivate library just fine. Anyone have experience with this or any suggestions? Thanks!

The 'g' in the title block (font Alegreya) keeps getting cut off regardless if I make the font smaller and or shift the spacing. Also, in all responsive ratio as well. Any advice?  

HelloI need to export the project to a 1.2 Scorm , Im currently working in the new version of Captivate but I can't find where's that option. Pls help!! 😞

I’ve designed a slide with multiple shapes configured as buttons. Each button has a different term on it, and each button’s Action is "On Success Change State of" a multi-state shape named text_placeholder_shape.  As the user clicks each button, a different state displays the definition of each button’s term in text_placeholder_shape. The actions are set for Infinite attempts. When I preview the slide, I am able to click on four slides and then the slide advances to the next slide. I am including screen shots to show what I am doing. I have been reading about the active and inactive display, but have not been able to determine how long the button should be active. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have created a course that does not have any SCORM and want to put this into Moodle as a resource. I am looking at the instructions in Moodle and it says to publish to the web. But when I go to Publish, there is no option for Web. Under Preview there is a feature for live preview on devices. But not sure where I would save the file to. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have a project where, on most slides, there is mouse movement. On one particular slide, I select for the mouse to show, but it won't. I added it to the previous slide, just in case that was the issue, but it still didn't show up when I selected to show the mouse. I am perplexed. Thanks for any help.

My concern is that I still need Captivate Classic, so I'm hesitant to download the New Captivate version. Will donwloading the New Captivate overwrite the Captivate Classic (i.e. 2019) that's on my machine?

I'm working on a captivate project based on an existing PowerPoint presentation which requires different shaped image placeholders i.e circular, square with one rounded corner, custom shapes etc. I know it's possible in PowerPoint, but is this possible in captivate and, if it is, how do I do it?  Thanks in advance for any help.

In the newest version of Adobe Captivate on Windows, when you have buttons that "jump to bookmark" on a slide video the interactivity does not work on mobile. The functionality works fine on desktop but for some reason on mobile the buttons don't work and don't react to tap. The mobile functionality is a needed feature for a client project. Other button interactivity works on mobile such as running JavaScript, but not the "Jump to Bookmark"

Whenever I changed the comment box from the generated text in a simulation, it appears fine on the program. When I go to "preview" or "publish," I have an error screen that reads "Something went wrong." Also, this only happens on certain pages. For example, I changed the text on this page and it is viewable when I previewed. However, I changed the text on this page and recieved an error message when I previewed it.  Any tips or suggestions would be much appreciated! 

I'm having trouble gettin gmy 360 videos int Captivate Classic.  I'm using the Add 36 Image / Video button, selecting the video from my local files but nothing happens.  The files explorer window disappears but the video does not load into Captivate. Any ideas?

Hello, Specs: Macbook pro i-7, 16gb run, plenty of HD storage,  running ventura 13.4.1c - all within adobe's published requirements. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue with the new captivate.  Note:  This is a fresh install of the new captivate. I am getting back in the saddle with captivate (been a few years) so my knowledge of the application is a bit dated. Anytime I try to create a new project or new simulation, the loading icon spins for about 5 seconds and then I get the following error: An unexpected error has occurred, which may cause Captivate to behave unexpectedly.  You can restart Captivate with backed-up project. The application then closes.   I cannot get past the initial loading screen so I can't access any application preferences. I have 2019 installed - that still functions properly.  I can create new projects with no errors.  

I was thinking this would be an in built function but I cant find it.Maybee it needs to be scripted. I would like to move an object to a certain x/y position when pressing a button. I can not use the motion function. I have to objects that when pressing a button I need them to go to a position and at the same time set two variables to 0. The variables are the easy part 🙂

Are we only able to use Google fonts for CP 12? I'm noticing that I'm not able to use this font or any font other than Google Suite fonts in CP12. Am I missing something? I need to abide by my employer's brand guide which includes a specific font face. I have this installed locally to my computer and I have no problems accessing it from CP11 or any other Adobe CC app.  

We're trying to embrace Captivate 12. When we publish our content, it previews in our LMS (Convergence by Vector Solutions). However, when I assign it to test users and try to launch it, the content doesn't display. Any ideas?

I have many widgets/interactions that contain images with lots of details. It would be helpful if users could click the smaller image in the interaction and open it full size. Is this possible?

I am working on a responsive project in Captivate 8. In the Properties panel of the slides you can select Style, Action and Options.  When you selct Action, you find 'on Enter' and 'on Exit'.On some of my slides there are buttons.  Properties for Buttons are Properties, Timing and Position.  None of these show Action.The Properties section contains Style Name, Fill, Stroke, Character and  Shadow and Reflection, but according to the manual, this section should also contain an Action section.  It doesn't.Action is not to be found under Timing and Position either.Obviously I am missing something.  Where can I set actions for a button in a responsive project? 

Cp 2019 11.5.1.499 on Windows 10Pro 64bit When I use Cp's playback controls, they inevitably appear on the start page of my published project. Does anyone know a way to prevent this?

Hi there.I'm working on some system tutorial modules in Captivate 7, which include a lot of click boxes and highlight boxes. Is there any way to get rid of the "Highlight box" / "Click box" captions that appear inside them when you're editing a project? Although this isn't a major issue, it can be rather frustrating, as it covers the text underneath it, which sometimes I need to see to include in callout boxes.Here's an example of what I mean:In this example, if I forget what the text says I need to move the highlight and click boxes to be able to read it.As I say, not a massive issue, but it seems like something that should be easy to do and would make things quicker and easier. I've had a look in the preferences, but can't find anything.Thanks.

Hi I've just starting using Adobe Captivate 12 and would like to ask if anyone know does Adobe have a user guide/manuel that can be accessed. I've looked under Help within the app but there is nothing available.Thanks 

I used captivate 9. A little over 1 month ago I formatted my computer. When I re-downloaded captivate, it was already the latest version. However, I have files from the old version to edit. Where can I find the captivate 9 installable?

Hi all - so in Captivate Classic, I edited the quiz so that there would be 2 attempts and a Fail. Each was a different message edited via the State View (Just change the Normal view of the Incorrect Shape). Each failure message was different with pregressive hints to the right answer but the final failure message was You got it wrong, the answer was XYZ - Continue.  So I see C12 or 2023 has the quizzing system plus the feedback elements, but does any one know how to edit those feedback elements? I have a 4 minutes mp4 video covering highlights of a new product version recently released. Had it been a regular SCORM output, interactive, then userc could have clicked the links to interact and navigate.This being a mp4 file, is that possible. The mp4 files is meant to be a self-playing file without user interactivity. Just wanted to check if it is still possible.
