Captivate

How do I disable choice options or the submit button until after slide audio finishes.  

It's that time of year again where we have a new macOS - and where there has been no word from Adobe whether Captivate will work on it or not. Now, I won't bring up all the reasons why you shouldnt upgrade right now, why the Captivate team seem to not realise a new OS is coming, or why they know but ignore it (even though they would have access to developer previews months in advance). Those discussions have been had with the last three major OS updates. Instead - if you have decided to give it a try anyway, or installed the new OS without realising the history - I'd like to hear if it is working for you! And for anyone wondering - generally a version of Captivate cerrtified for the new OS will not be released until December or January (or later) based on previous years.

I have no options to Close or Cancel the Assets panel. I see the assets but can't download. I can't close out of the panel and therefore can't use the app at all.  I have successfully downloaded assests/characters as recently as last week and was able to close out the panel. The problem started when my wireless connection was cut off during a search for assets. I re-established connection but don't see any button to close, exit, cancel, etc.  Getting pretty frustrated as I have some deadlines and the app is frozen right now; I really don't want to close out even though I've save my recent changes. Can anyone help me?

Hello,  I am currently having a terrible struggle with HTML 5 output of my file.  I have a shared interaction, Show Smartshape with the button turned onHide Smartshape  without button Jump to specific slide ( this also happens in other instances outside of this specific interaction) Lets say the timeline is 45 seconds long We have a transparent button appearing at 43,  square smart shape disappearing at 42. - all located at the bottom left of the screen, they function as a Next Button.  Upon starting the presentation: When we enter the presentation >  select the Closed Captions button > then press play ( As the timeline will not start until you select play when there is audio on the timeline for 508 reasons as requested). The timeline functions like normal for the first few seconds, but for some reason, at the end of the timeline we have the narrator say " please select the next button..." and then th

Hi,I am looking for a way to create a quiz slide (just knowledge check) where learners can click to confirm one or more options out of 3 answers each.Is there anything like that?

I used to be able to right mouse on a slide that required editing that is in sync in the library. I use PP 365 and Captivate 19.  When I right click and select edit Presentation, I now get a blank grey screen with the linked file name showing in the startus bar. but no view of the presentation? Any ideas or is it the compatability.

I'm am trying to find out if it is possible to run Captivate inside of a closed network - one that has no outside conections. Is it posible for a company to buy a single license of Captivate and set up a license server or something so that th app does not have to phone home? Thanks for any thoughts you might have on this.

Hi There,I am publishing a piece of responsive eLearning using a Typekit font 'Runda' and 'Nimbus Sans'.When I upload it, the Typekit fonts disappear and the project reverts back to Times New Roman.I'm entering the appropriate domains on publish.What could I be doing wrong here?This is my eLearning hosted on reviewmyelearning.com - the font has dropped off and is displaying as Times New Roman.This is the eLearning within the Adobe Captivate program - I have under 10 type kit fonts with my free plan, which is under the quota.Here is my publish screen. Enter in 'Typekit Domains', I have included : localhost, *reviewmyelearning.com, www.reviewmyelearning.com, reviewmyelearning.com, https://reviewmyelearning.com/(I just entered all of the variations that I could think of - in case!)I'm new with using Typekit, any help would be appreciated.

Hello Madam/Sir,In my captivate test project there is a scenario where there are two slides (slide 01 & slide02). Basically both the slide audios from the respective slides should resume from where it last stopped. I have an external quiz that was created with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.  I am able to view it by zipping it and dropping it on the page.  Can anyone tell me how to set the completion status, success status, and quiz score for the lms?  I've been stuck for a few days.

Hello, I am new to captivate and I need help in writing Advanced action for the below scenario.Explanation:a) My project has a scenario, where on the main slide there are 6 buttons with 6 popups on the main slide. And all 6 popups have 6 close buttons (X). Out of the 6 buttons, any 4 buttons should be clicked and the next button should appear.   

I am using Captivate 2019 to create a quiz with 21 slides and 19 questions. Any ideas on how to fix this problem would be very much appreciated!

In captivate project,1) There is a scenario when on the 1st visit to slide 01, the slide 01 audio should play i.e the slide audio should play.2) While on the second revisit to slide 01, different audio should play instead of the slide audio.How to write a advanced action for this? 

Hello I've used a variable in Captivate to solve the issues of blurred text. In Moodle, everything looks ok initially, but on refresh Moodle adds an extra character to the end of every sentence. I've attached a screengrab to illustrate the issue. You'll notice where a "0" is added. Anyone else experienced this? How to solve?

Hello captivate-experts ,I have now taught myself quite a bit about captivate and I still have one issue I cannot resolve.I want to load a java script library (Fuse.js - JavaScript fuzzy-search library ) and call functions from this.Unfortunately, I couldn't find any documentation online that describes how to include this .js library and call functionsfrom it (I want to call it after a learner clicks a button, from the regular javascript code window).I've tried code likeimport 'fuse.js';and after that I've tried to call functions and deliver an output (see code at the end of this article).I've also put the library into the folder: "assets\js\" of my published project. Moreover, I've tried to add itvia the Captivate GUI to my project, but the script file won't show in the gui.I would appreciate it very much if someone could tell me whether it is possible to use java script libraries and calltheir functions in captivate. Hi, I have a GIF that I downloaded from a image/animation site. It's set to loop. I imported it into PPT and it worked fine - kept looping. However, when I import it into a Captivate 9, it doesn't loop - just runs through one time. Any ideas why? What can I do to fix this? ThanksMichele

Hi everyone, I'm new to the Adobe suite - we've previously used Articulate's software, we have a lot of existing e-learning created using Rise. I was wondering if we are able to import SCORM packages from Rise to be further edited in Captivate (or any other app in the suite). Could you let me know if this is possible please? Many thanks,Rob

I've been trying to get gifs from Photoshop to Captivate, and I've been getting the error message "'File name': The GIF file contains errors" seemingly at random. I've tried exporting from Photoshop with dither and with no dither, 128 colors and 256 colors, big file size and small file size, with a .3 second delay and with a .1 second delay. The error message seems to come up at random. Sometimes I'll even redo the Save for Web (Legacy) with the same settings and it will work on the second time. I am not the person building the Captivate file, I'm just the video editor. Is there a best practice for creating GIFs for Captivate? Is there a setting I'm missing that is making the difference? Help?!

Hi, I want to create an Assessment Simulation, where I want to give a learner TWO ATTEMPTS with two different failure messages,, Messages could be.. First failure message.. This is incorrect. Please try again.2nd failure message. Its still incorrect, let me perform this for you. (This is first sceanrio where No of Attempts are 2 with 1 click box, I want both failure message different) is it possible to get two different messages for 1 Click Box? 2nd Scenario Since Two different messages will not come with a single click box as per my knowledge, so I have used a Two Click boxes for different messages with Timeline adjustment, but problem is that two Click Boxes are counted as 2 points in result page. as a result if there are only ten steps in Assessment simulation, final result comes with 20 points, and if I performed all 1st attempt correctly still it shows I did not pass the Assessment or if I performed 2nd attempts correctly than again not passed.So I would like t

I've read some comments about flickering but not sure if they are specific to my issue or if this is still an outstanding issue. created with Captivate 11.8.506, If I have an object on slide 1 eg. a shape which is static and then the same shape is also on slide 2 with an animation (eg alphato), the object flickers upon entering slide 2 and does not give a  clean transition between the slides. No transition effects  are applied to the slide or object. The flicker is not evident  when playing on the time line only when previewed in browswer. 

I have been tasked with testing our Captivate eLearning courses for accessibility using JAWS 2018. In the process of learning JAWS, I noticed that any variable output to the screen is read exactly as it is on the slide, i.e. Slide $$cpInfoCurrentSlide$$ of $$cpInfoSlideCount$$ is read as "page dollar sign dollar sign, cpinfoslidecount dollar sign dollar sign of dollar sign dollar sign cpinfoslidecount dollar sign dollar sign" instead of reading "page 4 of 21"If anybody has encountered this issue and found a solution, your help will be greatly appreciated.

In captivate project, On Slide 01(Homepage)(Point 01): There are 6 buttons, out of 6 buttons only button 1 is enabled, the rest all the other buttons are disabled. For example, button 2 will be only enabled when chapter 1 is completed, same is the process for all the other buttons. And the audio will be disabled on the second revisit to slide01(Homepage). Point(01) works fine at my end.(Point 02): Example If button 1 to button 5 is clicked multiple times they work fine, they all go to respective chapter slides and the functionality is working fine.(Point 03): The 6th button is for the quiz chapter when the 6th button is clicked for the 1st time it will jump to the quiz chapter where there are 4 quizzes, once these 4 quizzes are done they will jump to the result slide.(Point 04): After jumping to the result slide, I have created a next button, when the next button is clicked it will take me back to Slide01(Homepage) which has 6 buttons. *Issue Note*: If button 6 (quiz cha

I am creating a responsive project with a TOC. I would like learners to use this training as a quick reference guide, so it is important for me that they are able to navigate to any slide using the TOC. However, the option to "Navigate Visited Slides Only" is greyed out and cannot be disabled.  Can someone help me with this?
